So, I don’t know if this will resonate with anyone else, but

God as a computer/video game programmer. He had a brilliant idea and plan for how the world would be, but had a very short crunch time (7 days) to make it work. And it does!...mostly. There are a few bugs that need to be fixed, such as how did a literal demon sneak into his supposedly perfect garden, but he can fix that.

Except—the product’s already out. People are using it, and they keep finding new bugs, like disease, or mental illness. It’s not like he can just call a total product recall, that’d be way too expensive in so many ways. Instead, he chooses to update the software through several patches over time, working excessively hard to get the right inspiration, the right ideas, out into the program to fix the current bug problems.

And they do...but then they also reveal new problems. And it’s back to the drawing board again.

And God could start over, just start from scratch, but so much time has been poured into this project. It’s his passion—it has to be perfect. And for as many problems there are in the programming...he’s still getting the messages from the user base of how much they’re enjoying the program. How despite everything, there are those that are still finding new and wonderful things about his creation to smile and laugh about.

He can’t take this away from them, can he?

And so, patch after patch gets sent out—through prophetic dreams or human ingenuity, by evolution or innovation—with the hopes that eventually it will work the way it was always intended to.
