okay, so, hear me out.
the Manus Vindictae work, like, OKAY as initial antagonists? like, don't get me wrong, in retrospect with the Foundation being Basically Fascist, it does come off as a little weird that the main Resistance group are... also like that, but in the opposite direction. it's kind of a tired trope.
HOWEVER. while there are a lot of parallels, i'm not 100% certain that arcanists on the whole are intended to represent racial oppression SPECIFICALLY?
consider:
the Foundation specializes in essentially forcing arcanist children to "act human," with jessica's event SPECIFICALLY being designed around a program that determines how "dangerous" you are based on how acceptable your answers are to what amounts to a personality test
a large number of arcanist characters have flat affects, "strange behavior", and/or intense interests that society as a whole frowns upon
a large number of arcanist characters ALSO are shown to be socially awkward and have difficulty "fitting in" and/or understanding the emotions of others
it is TEXTUAL that arcanists have less logical thoughts and are more creatively oriented, whatever the hell that means
i think given all this, it might be a BIT less of a stretch to say that arcanists as a whole are both metaphorically representative of and quite literally all neurodivergent. the Foundation requires most of its employees to "act human" and discard any "unseemly" interests, after all.
taking them this way, i think the Manus Vindictae work a little better -- they're still neurodivergent, but are specifically the type of people who are radicalized or join cults because someone has preyed on that part of them. at the same time, given how harshly they treat mixed arcanists or even just those who don't agree with them, they're also kind of a cipher for people with "acceptable" neurodivergencies that then turn around and gleefully demonize/dehumanize people with "unacceptable" forms of neurodivergence (yknow -- low empathy, personality and/or cluster-b disorders, systems/plural people).
maybe it's just wanton theorizing on my part, but i do feel like this explains why the Manus Vindictae and the St. Pavlov Foundation have one key thing in common:
unless you are part of the in-group, whatever that may be, you are expected to mask both your face and your undesirable behaviors.

My Descent Into Madness About Unilogs
This is more of a full blown conspiracy theory than a theoretical analysis of information, keep that in mind.
So, as always, this will be VERY long and ramble-y so take your time reading!
Tumblr media
I left off in my discussion about The Wheel's connection to the Storm and it being the possible key to how it all works without really explaining it. This is why.
The Wheel doesn't just have the ability to create fog that repels the Storm within the suitcase, but also has the ability to summon arcanists.
Tumblr media
Through a two dimensional golden thread weaved onto the spindle, it can't be felt tangibly and it doesn't seem to truly "exist" in that realm. But with enough of these "nonexistent lines" can Vertin call out to an arcanist and bring them there.
Specifically any arcanist of any timeline. Regardless of if they've ever been reverse into that era yet.
Tumblr media
As well as the implication of summoning an arcanist not just from their timeline, but from another universe's timeline.
Now, I'm about to pitch you the conspiracy theory part of the essay, so entertain my insane ramblings for a bit because this is gonna be one of my hottest takes known to man.
Sonetto didn't survive the Storm in the prologue.
Here's my reason why I consider this a possibility:
We barely knew Sonetto's personality in the prologue, so it'd be easy to do this switch compared to doing it at a later date. But what we can glean from pre-1966 Storm and post-1966 Storm Sonetto is her immediate tonal shift.
Sonetto before the Storm is far more subdued with her way of speaking with Vertin. Professional and could even be considered more polite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We can chalk this up as her being on Work Mode and with the Storm's arrival approaching, it's far more important to get the task done than her relaxing her mood.
So, let's think about why I think it's not possible for her to make it back to the Foundation on time. In the prologue, we see them discuss a new form of teleportation device still being improved by LaPlace.
Tumblr media
It's a means to have a better way to teleport a large group of people from a much farther distance.
With this in mind, it's important that they have the disks to immediately evacuate because it'll take longer to get back to the safety of the Foundation. But they used all three of it. One to summon Vertin.
Tumblr media
One to intercept the enemies.
And one-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Was used by Regulus to escape.
And with that time, they only hade 45 minutes left before the Storm hits. Sonetto instructed her squad to go back ahead, leaving her to go with Vertin to investigate.
Even if we're absolutely generous in stating she can get far with using consistent fast travel arcane spells to move her to safety, how much time did she have?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not enough. Not even the best teleportation spell can get her back in time assuming the nearest London branch is just a subdivision away.
Speaking of teleportation spell, we can even use one of the teleportation spells as a reference. Aferoj Around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's one Sonetto suggested Vertin used to summon her, but immediately dismisses it as a possibility. It could be because of the fact that the range wouldn't make sense assuming that Sonetto's been summoned from the main headquarters all the way to where Vertin is. So even an advanced arcane skill like that can't just summon someone in that great amount of distance.
While it's also should be taken into account that with the reverse having send them from 1966 England all the way to 1929 America, it's still an impossibility if they were to still be within London. Because if that kind of spell is so easily executed consistently, then they wouldn't be developing the Teleport disk. It's an advanced skill for a reason and even that has limitations. So other less taxing teleport skill wouldn't have the distance needed to get Sonetto back in time.
Which brings us to post-1966 Storm Sonetto and the wild implication of her summoning. For one, her reaction is far more brighter and excited, familiar even. Much more like the puppy we consider her to be now. It can also interpreted as shock, but the demeanor compared to post-1966 Storm Sonetto at least has a slightly noticeable difference.
Tumblr media
One of the biggest difference though, is this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Madam Z somehow knew about what Vertin's doing and has instructed Sonetto specifically to seek her out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If we can believe in Vertin's words here, she's never told anyone about this. Not even Madam Z. So to boldly be told that they knew all along is a strange difference that even took Vertin off guard.
Why this is important is to ask you this. Just how much can you tell if someone is replaced with another version of themself? We're all lead to believe that those differences are drastic, but alternate universes doesn't have to be full blown change. It can be as simple as putting on your right sock first rather than the left that day.
Which is why it'd be so cruel and so sneaky to actually have done this switch in the first place. Because we don't know Sonetto enough to have noticed the change. And Vertin doesn't know her enough either after 4 years of not really being that close to her.
And how can I say this could be possible without a little bit more evidence to entertain it? Well, Chapter 5 is the reason I'm making this theory in the first place. And that's because of one person.
Diggers.
Tumblr media
This man. THIS MAN.
Tumblr media
Canonically fukin joins the Manus. This manfailure is the sole reason, aside from one more reason but i'll get into later, why I thought about this possibility.
Because you can say that maybe after this event in the island he'll just defect to Vertin's team later after suffering the injustice of the arts or whatever, but I like to point back to one of the listed descriptions of Unilog's capabilities.
Tumblr media
It can sometimes change the fates of people. So what I'm suggesting is that the Diggers we end up recruiting isn't the same Diggers, but an alternate universe one who didn't join the Manus as he was literally ripped from his timeline to join Vertin's instead.
This could explain many more of the characters in the roster being from timelines far into the past or even far into the future like John Titor. Heck, it explains dead people like Click and Poltergeist being there when they're supposed to be dead. Because summoning them through The Wheel has the potential to change their fate.
So yes, you can also argue that means Vertin did end up saving Sonetto from reversing and they actually do have their timeline's Sonetto still, but there's still the possibility that she's just another universe's Sonetto. She's both this timeline's Sonetto and not at the same time.
Schrodinger's Sonetto. (Note that this isn't the accurate use of Schrodinger's cat logic, it's mainly a joke)
Which now leads up to 100% the ultimate reason why I wanna pitch this idea as possible and y'all already know where I'm leading up to, this is just a huge build up to one thing and one thing only.
S C H N E I D E R.
THAT'S RIGHT. IT WAS SCHNEIDER ALL ALONG. You think I wouldn't go a single damn analysis without talking about my bbygirl? You're dead wrong. If this summoning system has the damn ability to yoink people from another universe and change their fate, then the possibility of getting Schneider back is far more real. Heck, you can even pull a version of her that actually IS an arcanist like y'all I fukin swear I'm not delulu, PLEASE--
ahem.
So that's my thoughts about what could unilogs do. I know it's extremely far fetched, but I like to entertain these ideas in hopes that it might give people a lot of other theories to craft!

Reverse 1999: Vertin Character Analysis and Theory
Vertin and the “Hidden Desire”
I'll be exploring the Gluttony Amplification Material and how it potentially relates to Vertin. Unlike the Psychubes, Gluttony is not a conclusion built upon Vertin’s thoughts and reflection. Instead, Gluttony is “a desire hidden in the depths”. I examined this under a mostly biblical lens because Reverse1999 loves to use Biblical references. Word Count 1600+
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Relevant Background Information
Psychubes are an element of an arcanist's thoughts. They show greater ability and will provide more help. The more you ponder, the more you gain (in game description). Vertin can reflect and meditate in a process called pneuma analysis (resource stage) twice a day, where she acquires lesser Psychubes, Thought Elements, and Thoughts in Entirety.
Thought Elements: an element of an arcanist’s thoughts. There are so many ways to organize the mess: the furnace that burns and the blade that cuts…but I wish to keep it the way it is.
Thoughts in Entirety: an arcanist’s complete thoughts. As the disorganized has been organized, the darkened vision lightens, ideas are finally taking shape in my mind.
These are the building blocks for greater ideas, which would be higher level Psychubes. On the Psychube page in the Atlas, you will also see the phrase word anamnesis.
In Platonic philosophy, anamnesis is a process of rediscovering knowledge that the soul already possesses but has forgotten. Plato stated the soul has pre-existing knowledge that is brought back to consciousness through the process of questioning and recollection. However, in Christian and Catholic contexts, anamnesis is recollecting the “Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus”. In other words, remembering Jesus’s sacrifice and honoring his memory (this is an oversimplification for the sake of brevity). In general, we can think of anamnesis as a profound reflection or recalling of events.
To summarize, the Psychubes interlap with Vertin's emotional state and have been cultivated by her experiences. She reflects, recollects, and creates stronger “impressions” (from the Psychubes). The definition for impression: an idea, feeling, or opinion about something or someone, especially one formed without conscious thought or on the basis of little evidence. These are all emotion/intuition based. Very fitting for an arcanist.
From a lore perspective, the Psychube Shop is a representation of Vertin’s mind as she turns her thoughts into Psychubes. The different prices represent the time and introspection needed to gather Vertin’s thoughts. She needs more complete thoughts (Thoughts in Entirety) in order to afford the stronger Psychubes, which means spending more time doing pneuma analysis (farming the stage). The lesser ideas are also the foundation of strong ones. In the game this is represented by engraving a Psychube to make it stronger. (Note: This is how I connected the game mechanics to the lore, but I'm open to other interpretations!)
Gluttony is not a Psychube and isn't listed in the Atlas. However, it consumes the most Thoughts in Entirety. The strongest Psychubes are worth 210, but Gluttony is a whopping 300. The Snake symbolizes “desire hidden in the depths.” It gorges on Vertin’s thoughts if she indulges it instead of a Psychube. However, if she allows Gluttony to devour her thoughts, she can amplify an existing Psychube. This could be interpreted as gaining a deeper understanding, but to get there she needs to get obsessed/fixated/focused. This is reflected in the large amount of thoughts she needs to invest in Gluttony before she can amplify her chosen Psychube.
But what exactly is Gluttony and why is it slithering around in Vertin’s soul?
The Serpent and the Sin
Gluttony is represented by a snake, which we can also refer to as a serpent.
In the Bible, snakes are often associated with deception and temptation. The serpent in the Garden of Eden is commonly interpreted as a symbol of Satan tempting Eve to disobey God. Snakes also represent danger and evil.
In the biblical story of the Garden of Eden, the serpent tempts Eve to eat the forbidden fruit (Apple) from the Tree of Knowledge. The serpent challenges God's command, suggesting that eating the fruit will not lead to death but rather make Eve and Adam godlike, “knowing good and evil”. The serpent manipulates Eve, creating doubt about God's intentions and enticing her with the idea of gaining knowledge and wisdom. Eve eventually succumbs to the temptation, eats the forbidden fruit, and shares it with Adam. Their disobedience led to their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The story is a lesson on disobedience and its consequences. The snake was also cursed by God to crawl on its belly and eat dust.
While snakes aren't evil in every context, keep this story in mind.
With the Snake symbolism established, we can look at the Sin.
The Seven Deadly Sins are Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride.
Going a step further, Lust, Gluttony, and Greed share a theme: excessive desire. People carrying these sins are deemed insatiable.
Gluttony refers to excessive indulgence in food or drink. It involves overconsumption beyond what is necessary, often driven by an unrestrained appetite or desire for pleasure. It’s a sinful behavior due to its focus on self-indulgence and lack of moderation.
However, we haven’t seen any behavior to connect Vertin with Gluttony. In fact, she displays the exact opposite and reflects Gluttony’s counterpart: Temperance. Temperance is one of the Seven Virtues (opposite of Seven Sins). According to Wikipedia Temperance is the practice of moderation and voluntary self-restraint. It involves refraining from vengeful actions through mercy and forgiveness, avoiding arrogance through humility, and curbing excesses like luxury, overindulgence in food and drink, as well as managing rage through calmness. This is Vertin’s whole persona as the stoic Timekeeper. She asks for nothing, but is always ready to give. During Green Lake, we see her explicitly say things like she doesn’t have wishes because she already has everything she needs but she goes out of her way to fulfill other people’s desires.
So Why a Snake? Why use the term Gluttony?
In Vertin’s case, I’d say a “hunger for knowledge” suits her. She wanted to know the outside world to the extent of letting herself get hurt in (electric fence and punishments from teachers) in the process. She craved more while everyone else obeyed the Foundation and stayed in their lane. Smoltin could never be satisfied within the Foundation’s walls.
While it’s true she had an insatiable curiosity, she is not Eve in this story.
She was the Serpent.
During the break away event, Vertin enticed the other children to disobey. She tempted them, just like the snake who tempted Eve. She challenged everything they knew the way the Snake planted doubts about God. The other children were swayed by her which ended up getting them Reversed. Now she is the Timekeeper, doomed to helplessly watch history repeat as she loses friends and allies. The snake was cursed to crawl on its belly, and she was cursed to brave the Storm as Eras end.
Maturity and trauma go hand in hand since children who experience trauma are forced to grow up faster than others. Vertin wanted “too much”, and look at where it got her. She has her own goals and desires of course, but Vertin doesn’t ask for much compared to her crew. Vertin is also a victim of other people’s greed like Constantine, and as of recently, Arcana. What if she’s afraid she’ll become like the people who hurt her and her friends? Who continue to hurt her physically and emotionally?
Gluttony could be what Vertin perceives as her sin. She could have a skewed perception of herself. She wants things like everyone else, but wanting things is “wrong.”  Wanting too much will make her hurt people. This is why Gluttony is part of her psyche along with the psychubes she manifests. It’s not a conclusion or idea she needs to come to because it's already coiled up in her mind. It lives there. To clarify Vertin has desires but chooses not to act on them. Its similar to not being able to control your emotions, but you can manage how they manifest to some degree.
The repression is intense.
“The snake is hissing to find its way. It is now clear where to go and what to bite. It opens its mouth, it protrudes its fangs, it sinks them into the prey.”
Fun fact, snakes are predators that can unhinge their jaws to eat their prey whole after they subdued them. It fits right into the concept of Gluttony. Idk how you want to interpret this but to me it shows someone who knows what they want, knows how to get what they want, and has the means to claim it without hesitance. Yet, Vertin doesn't indulge this part of her (Unlike Constantine and Arcana). What do you think? There are so many ways to interpret this!
TL;DR: Psychubes are linked to Vertin's emotions and experiences, cultivated through reflection and meditation in a process called pneuma analysis. Anamnesis, mentioned in the game's Atlas, connects to Platonic philosophy and Christian contexts, representing a profound recollection of events. Gluttony, symbolized by a snake, consumes Thoughts in Entirety, reflecting excessive desire and temptation akin to the biblical story of the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Despite Vertin's displayed Temperance, Gluttony resides in her heart. Her trauma represses many of her “hidden desires”.  The symbolism of Gluttony, both in the lore and game mechanics, adds depth to Vertin's character.
Disclaimer: there is also a serpent on the Insight Material “Fruit of Good and Evil” but that will be a discussion for another time because we’re focusing on Gluttony.

Reverse 1999 events/lore I would like to see mmmmmm (explodes)
GOLDEN AGE HOLLYWOOD EVENT
This is mostly because I love Bette. I would love to see a Hollywood focused event, especially with Sweetheart & Bette (and maybe even Blonney). Commentary on the film industry and on theme considering how much film related stuff is in the game (tickets, movie review achievements). At least a sweetheart anecdote. Films have also been mentioned multiple times in the daily login.
Black centered event
Can’t comment too much about this as I’m not black, but black people have done A LOT for the world and it often goes unrecognised. Deserves recognition. The game also needs more black characters. I would especially love to see a music focused event, since there’s not many music themed characters and black people invented essentially every music genre. African folklore is also really REALLY cool and I think that would be nice too see. But yeah mainly there need more black characters.
Early Iron Age Scandinavia (aka vikings)
I think it would be interesting to start it off with the 80’s with meeting Erick. Then going back in time to the Iron Age/viking age, and that’s where she gets her i2 garment. It would also be nice to see other Nordic characters, one I would LOVE to see is Njals from the Icelandic Fairytale Njals Saga. They also mentioned vikings in one of the daily login. Also it would be cool w folklore /viking stuff that’s not romanticised. Perhaps even Nordic mythology & folklore (folklore creatures > asatro gods imo).
Rabies lore
If you’ve read his story, you’ll understand. I really hope we get an anecdote or an event featuring Rabies. I would love to see who he was in his past, the emotions he experienced losing all of his patients. I also need bluepoch to release their Alicia/Alicja design. I want them to kiss. Please. Also read his story if you haven’t, it’s so tragic.
Yule event
Shamane yule goat garment when🕯️ also I like Yule, it’s an easy way to celebrate winter time without tying it to one specific religion or practice (as many places do yule in their own way). Also it would generally be nice to see yule talked about more, since christmas usually get the spotlight.
Mesmer Jr Protagonist
Mesmer Jr gets to be the protagonist of an event, just like Vertin, Sonetto, Regulus and Matilda (kinda) got to be. She deserves that. It would also be very interesting with more Mesmer Family lore, especially her finding out about Scott (three doors). Hopefully it would end with her joining Vertin’s team officially and distancing herself from the foundation/her family. Also she gets to change her name, she deserves a proper first name. Please bluepoch give her a happy development please I’m begging. At the very least there’s NO WAY there’s not gonna be a Mesmer family heavy event/lore, there’s already so so so much and they’re building it up for something I swear.
Tragic ballerina character
I physically need a tragic ballerina reverse 1999 character or I will implode. That’s the only reason I made my r1999 ballerina OC Aigrette. ALSO there’s a painting of a ballerina in the suitcase. Bluepoch, ballerina character is a need.

(This is all based on a random reverse 1999 theory post. I don't remember who wrote it, but if you see this im just letting you know that it lives in my head rent free)
So, there’s connections between Constantine, Madam Z, and Vertin's Mom with Sonetto, Schneider, and Vertin, right?
I've seen a couple people draw lines between these characters, and from the little bit we know about them I definitely see the connection. Vertin's trio/love triangle matches up a lot with the implied trio of Constantine, Madam Z, and Vertin’s Mom (to be fair, vertins mom has very little info on her so she’s not as confirmed as the other two are for being pals).
My most confident choice is Sonetto paralleling Constantine. They both follow authorities, they both stand on the outside of things happening, and they both serve as a big relationship to Vertin. While Sonetto will almost definitely go through more character development at some point, I think Constantine is a good look at how Sonetto could have turned out if a couple things in her life were different. They’re both very analytical, but their big difference is Sonetto’s empathy and strong connection to Vertin, while Constantine is keeping herself at an arm’s reach from everyone close to her.
From the few in-game comparisons we’ve heard from a couple characters, I think the easiest connection would be between Vertin and her mother, and this also makes sense on a logical standpoint. But what if that wasn’t the case? While we don’t have as much info on Vertin’s mom, we do have a lot of info on Madame Z. Madame Z and Vertin are working towards a mutually beneficial goal throughout all of chapter 4, and they seem to be pretty close from how much they respect each other in dialogue. They both have similar values when it comes to changing the foundation, and they seem very similar even on a personality level. Plus Madame Z being shipped with tooth fairy could be connected to Vertin’s fizz at the end of 1.2 with Jessica /j
If the above claim is the case, then I think Schneider and Vertin’s mom probably have some connections to each other. While we don’t know as much about either of the characters themselves, it is important to note that both characters are important losses in Vertin’s life. The repeat loss of Madame Z and Constantine losing Vertin’s mom only for Vertin and Sonetto to lose Schneider is an interesting comparable dynamic.
In general, I think that the parallels between some of the older generation and younger generation are very interesting, especially with the big themes in chapter 3 and 4 also being about Vertin’s childhood and then the adult drama respectively. I just wanted to throw this theory out into the wild and see what happens!!!

Reverse 1999 pheuma theory!!
Hi! First off this is my first time EVER creating a tumblr post so im not familiar w this. Also english is not my first language so i apologice for bad grammar!! ( im also not familiar with lore sorry) Now to the theory, i got inspired by this post : https://www.tumblr.com/fairycalamari/740155838322425856/has-anyone-noticed-how-the-cover-for-pneuma?source=share
the year on the pneuma analysis is 1568, my theory is that it could be the year manus vindictive wants to reverse to.
Why? The year is known for the 80 years war ( 1568-1648 ) perhaps the manus vindictive wants to somehow escalate the war to erase humans to make archanists supreme.

Schneider's family ; The significance of Marian
REVERSE 1999 SPOILERS AHEAD : FOR CHAPTERS 1 AND 2 ! Please tread carefully and make sure you only read about what you're willing to know.
I know we're all still completely in shambles from Chap. 2, but I wanted to make a speculation about Schneider-- and a comment about how well she's written !
Let me start with this: In many pieces of media, viewers, listeners and readers alike are told that a character has people they care for. They're told a character has a lover, a wife, kids, a family, a sister. We're told the same about Schneider: that she has 11 older siblings, and that she works in the mafia to support them.
However, it's very rarely that we're given a name and a face for these supposed loved ones. And even rarer is it that they're written well, not just as a ploy for empathy, but as their own character: Ladies, gentlemen, and esteemed guests: I present to you, Marian.
Tumblr media
Marian is one of my favorite characters just as a stand-alone: she's realistic, she's anxious, she clings to Schneider like a lifeline-- but she's brave, too. I'd love to do an in-depth analysis on her another time, but we're here for another reason.
Marian, first of all, shows us what Schneider's family is like. How they were raised, what they believe in, who they depend on. Soft topic, I know, but as someone of Italian lineage, it's very important to me that I point this out: Marian is extremely religious.
Tumblr media
Immigrants of every kind tend to be religious. It gives them much more faith than they ever could have: a new lifeline. They managed to make it across such a winding sea? Oh, thank the lord. They haven't been kicked out of the Americas for emigration? Thank you, holy one. There's so many more reasons for this than "they need something they don't have"- maybe the fact that the rendition of god in every religion is said to love everybody, not just those who were born into wealthy families with the bluest eyes and the blondest hair.
When in a moment with no reason, and all different kinds of desperate measures being needed.. Schneider does what her family coaxes her to. She prays.
(I can't find a screenshot, but please refer to the iconic "I didn't know you prayed" scene, and the screenshot directly below this sentence.)
Tumblr media
I also want to point out a large difference between Schneider and her family: Schneider's perspective on a 'god' differs so, so much from her family's.
She looks to whoever may be above, in her world, scornfully-- at least, in the present day. In her past, there is a particularly impactful line I want to debunk.
Tumblr media
"The god there ... loves the world." Schnider's family seems to believe that god was the one guiding them, the one who will forgive them-- Schneider believed that it was a whole different entity. This kid believes that the god in Sicily, whoever they may be, does not love the world-- and mio dio, if that's not fucked up, I don't know what is.
And, when Schneider comes to America and sees that shit isn't as it's cut off to be, she's resentful of whoever this god may be. She gives a pray as her last bet-- what her family wants.
And it's not that she doesn't believe in this god-- no. She just doesn't believe they love her.
Tumblr media
"Finally forgive me" -- Finally being the key word here. She's lived all her life never being treated to mercy or being 'forgiven for her sins' -- and at her most fragile, exposed moment, she relents to what her family has taught her. To what she truly believes-- to Sicily, to Marian, her sorella. Maybe even all 11 sorelle and her parents.
Tumblr media
And, again, they're different at face value. Marian is calm, kind. She dresses modest and has her hair grown out: she's timid, too, not befitting of a mafia boss. She's different from her younger sister.. but she's still important. She shows us another side of Schneider: and, more importantly, she shows us what-- no, who Schneider is fighting for.
Marian provides us with extremely beneficial background context of where Schneider comes from-- and, in that process, gives many of us someone to empathize with. Yes, I too know somebody at least a little like her. You do too, likely.
Maybe, you're even like Schneider-- maybe she's someone you'd aim to protect.
,,aaand that's the little lore rant. Whew! Now to study for my math finals. I hope you have a good day :)

Was messing around in the game 's Altas and I found this.
Im curious what infected means. We have those in Beyond who are essetially characters who didnt originate from this world (Voyager, Jessica). Awakened who are objects that came to life (Ms. Radio, Apple). Arcanists im assuming pureblooded ones (Regulus, Sonetto, etc). Im honestly not sure about this though as there are characters like Druvis III who is implied to have human parents(?) but may have arcanist blood in their lineage. Then theres the Mixed which so far only have Satsuki and Pavia on there, both characters having a murky background (Satsuki being an orphan and Pavia having an unknown father and dead mom) but can clearly use arcanum.
Then theres the infected which is just blank. Like it makes me wonder what defines as infected and infected with what exactly??

So I don't actually know. How. To make this post in like a way that makes sense because hoo boy I'm running on like pure pain and spite and I have no actual knowledge of things BEYOND of what I'm reading so half of this is me glueing clues together with bullshitted facts anyways
This is the lore I got from Poltergeist's info, and some other extra things (do note that this is based off my own speculations and theories so uh have a spoonful of salt with this):
Tumblr media
Poltergeist (name still unknown (or maybe I missed it I don't trust myself)) is a 15yo spirit who died in the 1960s and haunts her hometown, which is Broward County, Florida
Lowkey estimate her actual birthyear to be around the 1940s or 1950s but idk I never did good in math anyways
In regards to how she actually died, this is how I think shit went down:
There was beach party that was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during spring in some year around the 1960s.
Now Polt here isn't very fond of going outside because of how sensitive she is to the sun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But despite her condition, she always wanted to go out and enjoy life like how she sees other people do in tv.
Tumblr media
So after hearing news about the beach party, she decided that she's going to attend it, just so that she could be like the "popular girls" (judging by her behavior and voicelines, Polt seems to have low self-esteem and always compares herself to other, mostly to actresses on tv and etc)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Now, it's pretty apparent that Poltergeist died because of drowning, it's even mentioned in her voiceline where she describes what she last saw before passing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But a part of me wants to say that Poltergeist probably died without anyone noticing, or like yknow, people didn't realized Poltergeist was drowning before it was too late.
The reason why I feel like this is the case is because a majority of Polt's voicelines hints to her wanting to be noticed/not be left behind by (Vertin)
Tumblr media
(I have more picture references but Tumblr is mean to me so imma just type out the rest of the references)
Poltergeist Idle voiceline, continuing from the image above: "Oh my God ... Where are you? Don't leave me alone! Please..."
Poltergeist Night voiceline: "Listen! Did you hear that? The ticking sound of a clock. This... This is too quite. Nobody noticed me. Nobody looked over. I... I..."
But also I'm not that certain about it since it could be just me looking too deep into her timidly behavior
Anyways, after her death, she became the talk of her hometown for a short while, at best a couple of years if not only for a few months
A section of her 03 story interview:
Pandora Wilson: Could you tell me about tour hometown? I mean, Broward County?
Poltergeist: ...Everyone forgot about me...
Poltergeist: It was such a shocking tragedy, but no one remembers it now. They all forgot about me, like I never existed...
Pandora Wilson: Is that why you repeatedly returned to your hometown?
After seeing how she's forgotten by everyone, she returned to her hometown as a poltergeist and started to haunt people at random (there's no actual reference or mention of who she haunts so I'm just assuming it's just the county in general)
A paragraph from her 02 story:
According to the investigation record of the police in Broward County, Florida, theblocal poltergeist incidents which took place from 1960-1965 had the following similarities:
Aaaaand I guess that's it? I don't know if I missed anything important but lemme just throw in trivia facts about Poltergeist in here:
- she mentions that she has a mom but never mentions about her dad at all so I assume that her mom is a single mother? No hints whether her dad is dead, alive or a secret third option so this is the safest assumption.
- apparently??? The octopus in her hair and around her leg is also a ghost???? It was mentioned as her second item. either it points to Poltergeist being dead for a long while before returning as a spirit or something else, I have no real clue
- it's mentioned that Poltergeist picked up a third leg somewhere, specifically she "dig it". I'm just gonna guess that she picked up someone else's leg that was on the ocean floor (apparently there were a lot of drowning cases at Fort Lauderdare so it's not that surprising to find more bodies down there. I'm just curious as to why Poltergeist even took someone's leg while also forgetting that people only have 2 legs.)
And I think that's all that I have. Again, this is just my own speculations and theories, and uh yeah I guess that's all that I can find about Poltergeist from the hit game Reverse 1999. Hey Bluepoch you better give more Poltergeist content soon you better-

Arcanist's "Perception" & The Unseen World
Hello! I'm back at it again with a fascinating look into analyzing new information from the recent event in global that help solidify certain headcanons and theories I have about arcanist genetics/behavior and how much more they're different from humans.
It focuses on the Meditator's Realm and how it supports something I've already had assumptions on and that is:
Arcanists can tangibly see and interact with things others, mostly humans, can't. This apply to other arcanists as well even if some can theoretically perceive them.
This is a long read, so take your time.
Let's start with what I mean by their perception creating tangibility on what an arcanist can see and interact with. Arcanists are highly sensitive to strong emotions and their thought process works differently on how they manage it. Using Kaalaa Baunaa as an example, we can see how she manifests stress and anxiety as a literal monster stalking her with the proposal papers as its "anchor" or main source of the strong emotions:
Tumblr media
This is one of the many ways arcanists "perceive" emotions that makes sense to them and through Deep Meditative Thought (Gnosis), they can compartmentalize it into a more coherent structure that would be more similar to how humans deal with strong emotional response without it manifesting into strong "hallucinations."
But are they really hallucinations?
Tumblr media
Not quite. While the emotional state can be seen as delusions, they're very much real to arcanists for one specific reason: Their core. I forgot the actual term they use for it (it could actually just be Gnosis honestly), but one of the biggest biological difference between humans and arcanists is that arcanists apparently have some kind of stone in their brain that's theorized to be the deciding factor of how they can use arcanum and "perceive" wild things.
But the "delusions", according to humans, are actual solid things the arcanists can interact with. They're tangible and real, but invisible to the naked eye with only a particular set of individuals being able to "see" them. These unseeing things becomes what's known as "myths" or "cryptids" to humans. But even arcanists find it hard to perceive these things as they're not specialized in it.
We can see this in Tooth Fairy.
Tumblr media
While other arcanists can see the tooth fairies in her jar (which has unique properties meant to contain them), the "other fairies" that surround her constantly and more freely are invisible to them both in sight and hearing.
This leads me to believe that each arcanists see many "unseen things" differently and purely based on their skills and capabilities, but have the potential to "see" what other arcanists see either with the right tools (anchor) or enough practice.
People who try to "perceive" these things without proper training or equipment to "observe" them carefully can lead to a lot of mental distress, even insanity. Commonly humans because:
Tumblr media
Humans are creatures that go by the motto of "Fact over fiction" or "Seeing is believing", but when actually facing the truth of things, they buckle under the pressure.
But that doesn't mean arcanists are immune to these effects either.
Tumblr media
This is one of Baby Blue's "items" that she brought back from "Wonderland" and it's unstable and imperfect. Even UTTU's arcanist staff slowly lose the sense to properly "perceive" the item if they look too long both because it's incomplete and it's an "unseen thing" that only Baby Blue has fully deciphered in her head. It's a tangible, solid shape to her, but a confusing distorted attempt to mimic the real thing to others. It could also be due to the fact it's not from their world, but from "Wonderland", a place slightly different from their own.
But how did she manage to bring it into reality that even untrained arcanist eyes can "perceive" it with only minor consequences of lengthy observation to it?
This is where the Meditator's Realm comes into play.
Tumblr media
It's described as a Realm that "mirrors" reality that can be entered through a special meditative form and connects the Deep Thought (Gnosis) of arcanists to it, allowing them to explore and interact with it to some degree.
Tumblr media
Kaalaa Baunaa even compares it to dreaming, but more specifically she's referring to what humans call Lucid Dreaming. It's a form of astral projection where the soul disconnects from the body after entering REM sleep. A deep meditative state achieved through sleep. This is further supported from Baby Blue's interview about "Wonderland":
Tumblr media
The implication is staggering as this could mean that even humans can enter this realm through lucid dreaming, but can't achieve as great of an influence there as arcanists who are naturally born to view everything in reality as different. The Meditator's Realm could be proof of a parallel world anyone can access with enough skill and resources.
Like the Manus Vindictae.
Their goals for wanting to reverse the world is still unknown, but with the new insight about the Meditator's Realm, we can speculate that how the Storm operates is through the collapse and bridging between "Reality" and a "Mirrored Reality." And with the Manus' intention of "bringing the world to the right course of history", the possibility of them selecting one of these parallel worlds and attempt to merge it with theirs by "erasing" parts to later glue fragments from another into it is more and more possible.
And an arcanist's ability to "perceive" the unseen realms becomes a very prevalent key to surviving a Storm.
Tumblr media
Because with this, they can see the "in between" and the moment "reality" and the "mirrored world" starts conflicting before the Storm takes everything away due to the unstable consequences of bringing two worlds together.
They're still not immune when the Storm actually arrives, but just simply being able to "see" the signs gives them an advantage in braving it.
TLDR; Arcanists not only think differently from humans, but can see and interact with things far beyond the scope of "reality" that even other arcanists find hard to understand without training or an anchor.
The Meditator's Realm could be potential proof of parallel worlds and could be how the Manus dictates the course of what era they want to reach. As well as the unstable collision between "reality" and the "mirrored world" could be how the Storm operates.
Thank you for reading! Hope this fascinates you into thinking other theories about the Meditator's Realm and what could this mean for the world lore and arcanists.

Reverse 1999 Theory: What is "Perception" and how does it work in arcanists? (Ngl I'm very proud of this one. Bare with me and I'll blow your mind! This game is so good!)
Vertin canonically has uncanny perception and a deep understanding for arcanum even amongst arcanists, despite her lack of skill. Arcanists are very sensitive, or rather, vulnerable to emotions. There is another arcanist known for her perception we can look at for more clues.
Tumblr media
Mesmer Jr. also has a "acute perception", much like Vertin.
Tumblr media
In Reverse 1999, Perception functions like a 6th sense in arcanists. But how does it work? I looked up to see if there is a connection between magnetic fields and emotions. Turns out there is A LOT. Specifically the magnetic field radiated by the heart.
Biomagnetic Communication Between People (source).
We have found there is a direct relationship between the heart-rhythm patterns and the spectral information encoded in the frequency spectra of the magnetic field radiated by the heart. Thus, information about a person’s emotional state is encoded in the heart’s magnetic field and is communicated throughout the body and into the external environment.
There is so much cool information in this article I'd love to gush about, but we're here for lore. Remember my psychube post that I never shut up about? It's actually missing very important information that I didn't add at the time because I could not figure out how it worked.
Polarization:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The different frequencies are triggered by different kinds of emotions and we can see the heart being affected by the electromagnetic fields. My theory is that this is the key to arcanist perception. This is how they "sense" emotions. They are picking up on these frequencies. For a real life example from the same article, look at these graphs showing how the influence of emotions:
Tumblr media
Most people tend to think of communication solely in terms of overt signals expressed through facial movements, voice qualities, gestures and body movements. However, evidence now supports the perspective that a subtle yet influential electromagnetic or "energetic" communication system operates just below our conscious level of awareness. The following section will discuss data that suggests this energetic system contributes to the "magnetic" attractions or repulsions that occur between individuals.
Arcanists sense these waves and it can cause distress in them. Mesmer Jr. is a prime example of this. Other people's emotions get to her.
Now how does this tie into our beloved Timekeeper?
What if the reason Vertin has to stay "stoic" is because her emotions can influence the others around her and because she is extra susceptible to other people's incoming emotions. She needs to stay calm even in mental distress. Mesmer Jr. is also like this. She may come off as abrasive and snappy at times but she is described as a "an indifferent and refined machine" (Chapter 3: An Opened Sandwich). These two share a lot in common. They are both victims of trauma yet must operate in many emotionally taxing positions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They even say "engraved in the heart" (although this could simply be word choice it really fits)!
Both Vertin and Mesmer Jr. struggle everyday to keep the their feelings at bay. Neither of them is "used" to this life but they have to keep up the facade for their sake and possibly for those around them.
Tumblr media
The main story doesn't give us as much insight into Vertin's head but the traces do. She is always holding back, just like Mesmer.
Side note, do you remember the heartbeat we heard as Schneider was reversed? It raced. Interesting how later Schneider shows up in one of her dreams during Artificial Somnambulism. This could be an example of HF Polarization which generates strong and temporary mental images with very powerful emotions (assuming the heartbeat was actually Vertin's as she watched Schneider vanish). EDIT: This part is the most speculative as it could Schneider's too and the scene would still make sense. that 'assuming' is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
This also adds an extra layer to Vertin's interactions with others. She tried to get through to Druvis and Schneider, but as for Forget-me-not and Arcana, she didn't bother. Maybe their feelings of revenge and hatred are so tangible she knew it was lost cause. However, Druvis was laden with grief and loss. She was not a malicious person. Schneider was desperate and motivated by love for her family. Vertin even mentions she knew Madam Z was not part of Constantine's game by the "look in her eyes" and never blamed her for the loss of her friends.
If anything seems wrong or if I missed something, please let me know! I'd be happy if I could refine it further.

Reverse 1999 theory: Matilda's orb contains the same kind of fog as Aperion's cave
Okay, first of all, and before I start, this discussion will contain spoilers for chapters 4, 5 and the extra mini chapter, so if you haven't finished those, please do so before coming back. Okay, now on to the theory.
So, I was thinking back to the story of ch5 and about the connections to the mini story that comes afterwards, and something caught my attention. The caves in Aperion, including, the prison cell, have a kind of fog that is able to alter people's minds and give them "insights" into the truth. For example, Regulus and APPLe were able to exactly recall the distances between the planets and the Sun, solve the "Unsolvable puzzle", and deduce the existence of Ceres. Not only that, but they also "saw" Ceres in the cell.
Tumblr media
Later on, Vertin and 37 go into the cave of truth, which is the core of the island, and 37 urges Vertin to meditate about the Storm and ask the questions she needs answers to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imo this is similar to what we see Matilda do in each and every divination; she'd ask the person she's with to concentrate on whatever they want answers about. Then, she'd see the answer in the fog inside the orb.
Tumblr media
Of course, in Matilda's case, the fog isn't all around her, but safely stored inside the orb, so she'd use incense and other implements to help her reach the state of mind necessary to interpret the signs in the crystal ball. She also tells Kaalaa Bauna that divination is very similar to meditation; similarly, 37 tells Vertin that she has to close her eyes and meditate in order to reach the answer she seeks.
Now, in case you're not yet convinced, divination, in Reverse 1999, isn't exactly "telling the future", but more a means to gain insights and understandings about reality that wouldn't have been accomplished in normal circumstances, at least not in such a short amount of time. Matilda even tells us as much in one of her voice lines.
Tumblr media
Imo this is similar to what we see happen with Regulus and APPLe in the cave; they made a deduction based on knowledge they already possessed, but they wouldn't have been able to make this deduction in other circumstances.
More so, what Matilda sees in the orb are just "omens", and she goes on to thell Sotheby that numbers, like what the inhabitants of the island see in the cave of truth, are also a kind of omens.
Tumblr media
Having stablished this, I want to make a comparison between a conversation Sotheby and Matilda have, and something that happened in ch5. When they're looking for the missing file, Sotheby asks Matilda why doesn't she just divine the truth about the storm, and Matilda seems horrified about the idea and rejects it compleatly, saying the most likely result they'd obtain would be nothing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She even goes as far as to say that inquiring about the Storm will only bring misfortune, and we know Matilda is actually very cautious when it comes to divination because, as she says, it can be a dangerous activity and you must always have complete control of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not sure what would happen if she doesn't heed this advice, and tbh I don't think Matilda knows either, but she's not willing to risk it and I think it's wise for her to be cautious. Especially because of what we see happen with Vertin when she does inquire about the Storm.
Tumblr media
After she closes her eyes, Vertin makes one question after another about the Storm, none of which would have a simple straight-forward answer, I assume.
Tumblr media
Immediately after, the calmness of the cave is thrown into chaos and she "sees" the Gorgon current.
Tumblr media
Then she feels the stone bangle heat up and she gets distracted to the point of being thrown out of this meditative state, which 37 warns would be a big mistake "because to Aperion this is..." and we don't get to hear the rest of what she was going to say, but it's safe to assume that interrupting this is very bad.
Now, this is just especulation, but I wonder if Vertin's complicated questions + being thrown out of the meditation, are what caused the Gorgon current to disappear, ending Aperion's exile from the outside world and allowing the planes to reach it. Though I'm sure Arcana had something to do with this as well. I assume we'll need to wait for ch6 to find out.
But of course, this is just a theory. I'd be happy to read your thoughts and opinions on it!

Hi everyone, and this is my post with theories and headcanons about John Titor because I love her so much and she is my daughter!! <3
❗The theories and headcanons were created with the help of my wife, who I told everything I know about this character so far (my knowledge may be incomplete). These are just our thoughts and guesses. We may be wrong on some points, sorry!!! But we have been doing a little research with John Titor's story and her voice lines in the game, and today I want to share it
John Titor's diary
In her diary entries, John Titor notes the weather on a particular day. e.g.: June 16, rain; January 29, snow, and so on. perhaps this helps her remember events better
She describes war and chaos in the world. There could be several possibilities here:
She has experienced violence in the past (abuse, abusive behavior, etc.), which traumatized her, and the war is a veiled description of her experience. This is how she conveys her feelings and perception of the world around her;
There was a war at the time (the diary does not give the year), she was a victim of warfare and violence (she was taken prisoner, sent to a concentration camp and had horrible things done to her). She kept a diary at the time or wrote about past events;
You probably know the story of John Titor, who called himself a time traveler. On a forum dedicated to creepypasta he wrote "predictions of the future", detailing events that he said might happen. Maybe John Titor (the character) was fascinated by this story and just made it all up, based on what the real John Titor predicted, because her personality was built on this mysterious person. Or...John Titor (the character) calls herself a time traveler for a reason. Maybe she really is one, and in diary she describes an event from her time (war, cancellation of the Olympics, chaos in the world) while predicting the future. These are the two reasons she has that name in the game
Fan fact: her badge looks a lot like the symbol of the existing "John Titor Foundation" that published a book about the "time traveler" that included his forum entries
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Reverse: 1999 wiki, 2. Wikipedia
John Titor's voice lines
I was using other people's translation of her hexadecimal code phrases into words. I'm also making assumptions based on the theories i've previously described
Under "to the future" she says "crazy like me.". According to previous assumptions about her diary entries, it can be said that she is traumatized by her experiences of violence or war. she may have depression and PTSD, and this phrase is her idea of the future, which is typical of people with mental disorders;
Under "hobby" she says "Corvette 1966 black". According to Google, that's the make of the car. Why is she talking about it? Let's look at "bond: night", her phrase is "wanna go on a drive". I think these phrases are related. Maybe she doesn't sleep at night (she has bruises under her eyes) and it's at night that she can spend time doing her hobby: she's literally driving a car. Or it's in her imagination and she's just reflecting in this time;
In the "hat and hair" column she says "hey don't touch me". She may have experienced violence, it could have been bullying by someone or it could have happened during the war she wrote about in the diary. In any case, she is not tactile at all as a result of the traumatic events, she hates to be touched and doesn't let anyone touch her. You can also see that her hair is cut unevenly, which could also be due to the traumatic events;
Under "clothing and torso" she says "a soldier's physique". This description could mean that she witnessed or participated in warfare and/or, again, experienced violence. Either way, she notes her resilience. She was able to endure and survive horrific events as if she were a soldier. Or is this another reference to "time traveler" John Titor, who called himself a soldier
Why does John Titor only interact with everyone using hex code?
Given the theory that she is indeed a time traveler, we can make the assumption that code is the "language of the future," a way of interacting between people whose lives are entirely built on and dependent on technology;
Perhaps because of the traumatic events I wrote about earlier, John Titor no longer wants to associate herself with people in any way, to be like them, to speak human language. She decided to completely restructure her personality and become something like a mechanical machine
That's it for now! I hope this post is enjoyed by the likes of theory and headcanon fans in this fandom, I really tried hard to make it as good as possible. Again, I don't consider everything described above to be canon, it's just speculation and conjecture. I wanted to share my thoughts, and I'm proud of it because I love John Titor!! Also my knowledge may be incomplete and my views may differ. I welcome constructive criticism and reasoning <3

am i like, not remembering things right?? cause didn't someone say vertin is a mixed arcanist??
i know constantine knew, or knew of vertins mother, but nothing is ever mentioned of her father
so is he maybe a human?
if vertins mom was a very famous/powerful arcanist and then had a child with a human that would basically be like a sin to them right?
and vertin never uses her arcanum(if she even has one)
it goes to the point where mesmer jr says that she didn't know if vertin was a arcanist
if she wasn't rlly an arcanist, it would be a direct parallel to schneider, their the same, except one had privilege and the other didn't. except that privilege wasn't as great as it seemed
a common trope.
but, speaking of schneider, how is she not an arcanist?? is she a mixed arcanist?? cause pavia is too, but he's still in the suitcase
her sisters/family isn't arcanists, so it possible that an arcanist can be man made?

All I have in my main story bingo card is that Regulus will be there in the reveal of the identity of Vertin’s mother, just for the “so you have a mother?!” joke to come full circle.
