"Call it what you want"-Rivusa social media au(fake dating trope) - Chapter 22-

hello, I hope everyone is doing good. Here it is the new chapter! Hope you like this chapter as much as I liked writing it. Comments and reblogs are always accepted. Enjoy<3

Real life pov:

The sun has been up for hours. Musa is asleep in her bed, the blankets covering her body from the cold as she feels a shifting weight beside her. The fairy opens her eyes slightly and sees her boyfriend moving in his sleep. She just put an arm around him to bring him back against her chest and looks at the time on the clock in her room. The time for the start of classes is near, especially for Riven who has his specialist training in less than an hour. Musa watches her boyfriend sleep with serenity. His closed eyes, his little smile and his calm demeanor prevent Musa from waking him up. It breaks her heart to have to wake him up. After a few minutes of reflection, the mind fairy delicately leans towards Riven and gently places a few kisses on the boy's face in order to be able to gently wake him up. She delicately places a kiss on his pink lips and as she sits up, she hears a slightly raspy voice speak: "Another."

"Another what?" Musa replies with a slight chuckle in her voice.

"Kiss me again."

"Hmm?"

"Please..."

She finally comes to put her hand on the young man's cheek and bends down to kiss her boyfriend. Riven can feel butterflies in his stomach as his lips touch Musa's in a long kiss.

They separate a few seconds later, out of breath.

"Why such a pleasant awakening?" The boy asks as he lays back, absently stroking Musa's hip.

"You have practice in not even thirty minutes."

Riven sighs as Musa laughs at his reaction.

"Come on, stand up, big boy."

He frowns and stands up reluctantly.

An hour later, after practice, Silva gathered all the specialists for a quick meeting. Riven goes to sit on the grass between Sky and Kat. He doesn't understand why, but Riven feels a bad vibe, something bad is brewing and a slight panic begins to creep inside him because he doesn't know what.

"Why are we gathered here?" The boy asks Sky.

"You do not know?" Answers the blond.

"What don't I know?"

"Uh..nothing nothing..."

Riven frowns even more when he sees his best friend not answering him when he knows what's going on. It is at this moment that Silva appears and clears his throat to attract the attention of his students and bring silence.

"Hello everyone, some of you already know about it but today is an open day. Some parents will be present and I would like you not to change any of your habits, stay natural we want visitors to see the day to day in our establishment."

Students begin to get up to resume their normal activity. Yet Riven still feels that thing deep inside him, that feeling of discomfort. There is something hidden from him and he doesn't appreciate it at all. He gets up and as he walks towards Silva, Sky follows him.

"Saul can we talk?"

"What's the matter ?" Ask the teacher at the same time to put away the swords for the next lesson.

"What are you hiding from me?"

"Nothing at all..."

"No, no absolutely not, we always said there was no secret between us and there, you and Sky are hiding something from me. If you don't answer me, I'll ask Stella and you know very well that she will answer me ."

The more he talks, the redder his face becomes with anger and stress. Silva finally replies: "Your parents will be there."

At these words, Riven feels his world crumble. The barriers and walls he's been creating for years are crumbling before his eyes, the bricks of his armor are coming aggressively at him. He hasn't seen his parents for years, they abandoned him. Why would they come? He does not understand. He doesn't understand and at this moment, Riven doesn't know how to do anything but run away, as usual.

A few hours later, Musa comes out of her botany class. She tucks her book into her bag as she puts on her headphones so she can walk the halls undisturbed and engrossed by other people's thoughts. While her eyes are frozen on her playlist, looking for a good song, she runs into someone. The fairy looks up at the person to apologize and quickly realizes it is Sky in front of her. The blond has a panicked look on his face and the anguish he feels could be felt miles away.

"What's going on Sky?" Musa asks, removing her headphones and putting them in her pants pocket.

"Have you seen Riv?"

"No why? What's going on?"

The specialist does not want to answer. He doesn't want to worry Musa.

The boy's panic is so impressive. Musa has never felt so much fear in someone. This emotion comes away from them to go crashing against the walls. It flows everywhere. It breaks into pieces and reforms. It floats up to them. And takes Sky in his arms. Anguish, this destructive feeling. This worries Musa.

"Sky please tell me."

The boy comes to scratch the back of his neck with some discomfort. Though he talks, maybe Musa will manage to find Riven.

"Today is open house, and his parents will be there..."

"What?!" Musa opens her mouth wide in shock.

"Yes and Riven ran away, he doesn't want to be confronted by them. Please Musa tell me you know where he might be."

She nods. Staring off into space, trying to dig into her brain to figure out where her boyfriend might be. And that's where it tilts in her brain: "I think I know, I'll send you a message if I find him."

As she is already going the opposite route, Sky calls her.

"What?"

"Watch out for him, watch out for you two."

Musa nods slowly.

With a determined step, Musa enters the forest. She knows he's there, on the rock she often goes to when she needs to clear her head. And she knows he's there, because they're the same person. The fairy walks faster and faster and the leaves crunch under her shoes. The further she goes, the clearer the noise becomes. She hears heavy sobs. After a few more seconds of walking, she finally finds him. She knew he would be there. She see him beneath her eyes and what those eyes see breaks her heart. Riven is half seated against a rock. Hot tears stream down his face and his eyes look so tired from crying that they are red. He has a cigarette between his lips which he holds in a trembling hand.

"Love?"

Riv looks up at Musa and a sob escapes his lips. It's the first time anyone calls him Love, it's the first time Musa calls him Love. He instantly extinguishes the cigarette on the rock then puts the rest of the cigarette in his pocket. He doesn't want to throw it on the ground and pollute it. Awkwardly, the boy wipes his tear-filled face with his sleeve.

"Oh Musa, sorry."

"Sorry for what Riven? You didn't do anything." Said the fairy walking towards him.

She puts her bag against the rock then comes to stand in front of him.

"Sorry." He repeats with a trembling voice.

"Riv don't apologize."

The boy lowers his head. Musa, meanwhile, delicately raises the boy's face so that he looks at her. She smiled softly at him. Riven's heart skips a beat, overwhelmed by Musa's sweetness. It must have taken so much violence to become this gentle.

"Sky explained to you?" Riven asks as he turns his face to place a kiss in the palm of Musa's hand.

""Yes, he explained everything to me." Answers Musa, coming to delicately caress the boy's cheek.

"I don't understand, really I'm trying but I don't understand why they come back. They abandoned me, abused and insulted me all my childhood and now they come back?! It doesn't make any sense."

Riven frowns trying to understand the sense of the situation, "What am I doing Musa?"

"What do you want to do?"

"I don't want to see them."

"So come on, let's spend the day together."

Riven nods vigorously and stands up. He picks up Musa's bag as she sends a message to Sky saying that for now, everything is fine.

Musa's pov:

After a few hours in Riven's room, the two lovebirds finally decide to go out to look for food in the cafeteria. They cross the corridors holding hands.

"Do you want to eat at the cafeteria or shall we go back to your room?"

"I'd rather go back to the bedroom, I don't want to risk running into my parents." Riven replies, shaking the fairy's hand a little more.

She comes to gently caress the specialist's hand with her thumb to calm him down. He comes to open the door and holds it for Musa to pass. After that, they both head for the food. Riven chooses the food and begins to take it, however the canteen woman offers to put the meal in a paper bag to bring it back with them more easily. The specialist thanks her and turns around to find Musa retyping her space buns with pins.

A small chuckle escapes Riven's mouth as he speaks, "Do you want some help Pixie?"

"Don't make fun of me Riv, I'm hearing your laugh huh. But yes help me please."

The boy's laughter intensifies as Musa sticks her tongue out at him. He approaches her and comes to tie up the buns with the pins that the fairy hands him. He winks at her when he's done and she smiles back. It's such a bright, reassuring smile. Riven falls in love with her again every time she smiles at him like that. To keep from blushing at that beautiful smile, Riven turns to take the bag of food. While they are in the hallway, Beatrix rushes at Riven. Moreover as he gets up, Beatrix signals to Musa not to take the road they were going to take. She doesn't understand why and that's when she falls from nose to nose with eyes that are so bright green and so resembling Riven's. His father. And his mother on his arm. She turns her gaze to her boyfriend and sees him breathing harder and harder, stuck in place. Beatrix waits on the side for a reaction and their friends are standing behind Riven's parents, a sorry look on their face. Saul is there too, next to Sky. After a deep breath, Riven takes Musa's hand to leave.

A deep, sizzling voice is heard.

It's Riven's father who speaks: "We come to see you and you run away? You haven't changed at all."

Musa feels the anger and sadness burrowing from Riven next to her. He continues to walk though and the fairy whispers "You should be ashamed."

"You should watch who you hang out with, son." Launch the old man.

Everyone looks at Riven with horrified eyes. He slowly lets go of Musa's hand and turns back to his parents just as slowly. And without warning he almost throws himself on them. Fortunately, in the meantime Silva has managed to get between them. He tries to get Riven as far away from the other two adults as Riven screams angrily.

"Saul let go of me, let go of me so I can smash them. Who do you think you are? Do you want to speak ill of me? No worries. But never dare to hurt the people I love again because I swear otherwise even hell won't be painful enough for you."

The specialist's face is flushed as he struggles in Silva's arms.

"Riven.." Tries to talk to her mother.

"NO, NO! I SPEAK NOW. You have belittled me, abused me, abandoned me and now you come here and claim any right to me and my life. Never. I make it clear to you that I have my own life, that it's Silva my father, that in my eyes Sky, Stella and Beatrix are like brother and sisters, because they are the ones who lived with me, not you, them. Never speak ill of my girlfriend again. You are anything but parents to me but that's it, I don't give you the power to hurt me anymore."

It's his life. His. And no one can take that away from him.

Can’t wait till it gets to that point where everyone else is noticeably picking up on how different/soft/open Riven is with Musa compared to how he is with everyone else, even down to how he flirts. hello, I hope everyone is doing good. Here it is the new chapter! I'm sorry if I hadn't post earlier but I had a really hard writing block. Anyways, stay safe, drink water, sleep. If you want to talk or share thoughts, my dms and asks box are always open! Hope you like this chapter as much as I liked writing it. Enjoy<3

Real life pov:

Riven's eyes slowly open. He tries to reach for his phone to check the time, but he feels a weight on his arm. He looks down to see what's stopping him from moving, and he comes face to face with Musa completely collapsed on top of him. She sleeps peacefully and Riven doesn't dare wake her up. He still managed to unblock his arm and look at the time.

3:30 am.

He only slept for thirty minutes. On top of him, he feels Musa start to move so he just puts his hand on her lower back and strokes gently.

"Shh..shh go back to sleep."

Despite the boy's kind words, Musa wakes up. She sits up slowly, yawning: "What time is it?"

"3.30 a.m."

"Only?!"

"Come back here, so we can sleep." Riven whispers with a soft voice.

She smiles softly and comes back to snuggle up in the specialist's arms. A few minutes pass but neither of them can sleep. Riven tenderly slips his hand through Musa's hair to relax her. Despite the gentle caresses of her lover, the fairy can't fall asleep.

"Can't you sleep?" Riven asks.

"No and you?"

"No." An idea crosses the boy's brain. "You said you wanted a real date, right?"

Musa sits up slightly, putting her hands on the boy's chest to keep balance, and looks him in the eyes: "Yes, why?"

Riven gives her a smirk: "I have an idea, go get a book in your room, I'll get something to eat and let's go."

Musa looks at him curiously as she gets up,

"Where are you taking me? It's literally 3:45 a.m!"

"Surprise, you'll see." Said the specialist, dropping a little kiss on the fairy's forehead, while she blushed.

Musa hurries to fetch a book quietly to not wake her roommates. As she walks down the hall, she puts on her shoes and coat. Riven is waiting for her outside the front door, a box full of cupcakes they've made before in his hand.

"Let's go ?"

Musa's pov :

Real life pov :

Riven and Musa silently descend the stairs. They walk through the school listening to music with the fairy headphones. When they finally arrive at the entrance hall, Riven opens the door and lets Musa go first. Together they go to the specialist's car. He opens the door for her and she enters the passenger side, gently kissing his cheek. She fastens her seat belt and while he starts the car.

"What is the book for?" Musa asks as she settles comfortably in his seat.

"We have an hour's drive, you can read, it will pass the time."

"An hour but it's huge! Will we be there for lessons?"

"We only start in the afternoon, don't worry." He replies, coming to put his hand on the girl's leg while driving.

Musa's pov :

Real life pov:

Time passes quite quickly. Soft music plays from Riven's phone which is plugged into his car as Musa reads her book aloud.

"Close your eyes!" Said the boy hastily.

"Why ?"

"Close your eyes Pixie."

Musa sighs and complies, closing her eyes. She still wonders where they are heading. After a few minutes, the fairy hears the car's engine go out.

"We arrived?" she asks, still not opening her eyes.

"Yes, you can open your eyes now."

What Musa has in front of her eyes is incredible. Through the car window, she sees snow falling from the sky and goes to touch the sand of the beach in front of her.

"How is it possible that it's snowing when in Alfea it was super hot?"

"You're a fairy but can't you imagine that there is a village where it snows constantly?"

The brunette sticks her tongue out at him, giggling, as she gets out of the car. While Musa gets out of the car with her book and the cupcakes, Riven grabs some blankets from the back of his car.

"Why do you have blankets in your car?" The girl asks, holding out a hand towards the snowflakes.

The specialist closes the door : "Since apparently my car has become the official car of our group of friends, I put blankets in the back in case someone gets cold."

Musa turns to him and grabs his arm amusedly: "Did you just say you consider the girls like your friends?"

"I'll never be friends with Red, don't get any ideas."

The fairy stands on her tiptoe to be at his height with a mischievous smile.

"Tell the truth Riv! Say it!"

"No!"

"Say it!"

"Okay okay, She's my friends!"

Laughter runs through the two lovers. She comes gently to pass her arms around the boy and brings him back against her, laughing.

“Don’t tell them otherwise they will take the big head."

"Promised." She replies, placing a kiss on the boy's forehead then heading for the beach.

As he places the towels on the sand which is mixed with snow, Musa places the cupcakes and her book on top of the box. She takes off her gloves. Then she sticks out her tongue to catch snowflakes, laughing. Riven sits up to look at her. She is magnificent. She is so beautiful, with her smirk, with her head tilted back to catch the snow. She is so beautiful with her infectious laugh and her eyes that sparkle with joy. Musa has never looked so much like Musa as she did now. He's not a mind fairy but Riven can clearly tell that she is experiencing pure euphoric joy.

Musa's pov :

Real life pov:

They are lying on the towel. Musa eats a cake while Riven is cuddled up against her, his head resting on her stomach. The snow still falling on them, doesn't really bother them. It's cold but definitely bearable. The fairy looks at the sea a few meters away from them. The water is dotted with a few white spots due to the flakes, but they disappear immediately. Riven, who is tracing random shapes on the fairy's skin, asks: "Would you like to go in the water?"

"Now? Are you crazy, dude, the water must be frozen."

Riven sits up: "I actually understand, you're just not able."

Musa sits up too, smiling, "Me, not able?"

"Yes you!" He tickles her as he speaks.

"You'll see if I'm capable!"

She gets up and comes to take off her coat.

"Hurry up, you proposed this and now you're chickening out?!"

At these words, he also takes off his coat: "Our clothes are going to get wet. We're going to catch a cold."

"Are you afraid of a cold Riven?" She says while heading towards the sea.

No, he's not afraid, not when she's by his side.

Musa's pov:

am i insane? probably. moving on.

slide 1: first day(s)??? same fits for terra & flora in that sneak peek, all in the winx suite together and yet at the stone circle musa & bloom have changed but the others haven’t?? and also can’t find flora to save my life in the crowd so maybe that’s beforehand and then we meet flora? also stella is def spying on sky & riv in what is maybe the war room area at some point that day?? idk all this feels like a definite time jump and i am READY to be shown the changes via the girls plotting away.

slide 2: feels like it’s early after the first slide because bloom is unhappy with controlling her emotions (does she get embarrassed by marco in the stone circle???) also i *think* bloom is wearing the same thing here aaaand musa is still close with the girls (more on this to come)

slide 3: it’s A Lot but bare with me. this is where i think musa starts to drift apart. highly recommend watching the clip of them all using their magic together because you’ll see aisha give musa a very concerned look and question her (someone who can lip read help me out) and musa is clearly Not Happy about this all, which makes sense considering her little magic beam is practically nonexistent. is this all after the talk with riven and training and totally being like you know what he’s fucking right i don’t want to be a mind fairy look i’m not even good at this fuck it (you know, getting in her *head* about it all and therefore weakening her powers). or is the training with riven after she realizes she’s not as strong as the other girls and she’s like fuck ill go to the one guy who may just get being an outsider/cast and she then gets vulnerable with him???? fuck me either way. NOT TO MENTION bloom is somehow off campus during the day at this diner, back on campus in the room to do magic beam circle, back off campus or at least away from the group when they’re with sky at the barrier??? color me v intrigued.

slide 4: THE GRAPEVINE PUB AKA THE CLUB. v excited for this one because musa is doing a lot. you can see the green tan under that jacket in the bus, then its the same things shes wearing while dancing with flora and then she’s also running away on stairs that SUSPICIOUSLY look like the ones at the DUBLIN HELLFIRE CLUB???? oh lordy. should be a fun outing fam 👀

slide 5: the official “musa is off doing her own thing” timeframe. allllll wearing the same outfits we see here and guess what? musa is off training with specialists while the rest of the winx suite is off at the barrier doing little spins and twirls to what? break the reinforced barrier??? and then aisha’s new boo comes in to play here too??? v excited to see how musa denies her powers and the other girls continue to get stronger. GIMME ANGST NOW.

slide 6: random scenes as of rn where bloom is in the same graphic tee +/- blazer that i *think* may be the same look as where she’s kissing sky here???? so unsure but don’t think it’s bea/riv there because heights as well as bea wears different boots in the one boots + skirt combo we’ve seen (re: slide 1)

slide 7: the formal/banquet/whatever they looking fancy ok? loving all these looks, very excited for whatever comes of this banquet. mad i can’t see musa, stella & terra’s getup yet.

slide 8: angry bea gets ragey in an office and lights it UP UP UP fun times.

slide 9: stella & bea having some lovely one on one time at some point in the series and probably find the stumbling fairy who’s been drained of magic??? while they were chitchatting. also pretty sure this is the same outfit on bea as when we see this threesome? and i’m just??? did you skip out on them bea? did you go there after? did you get interrupted? so lost. and playing “i do not see” because rivusa supremacy lmao

So, I was thinking, you know that formal photo we got of Bloom?

Initially, I wasn’t thinking much about it in terms of Rivusa, because I’m sure we’re going to get only a friendship in s2. Assuming we get that far, maybe more of a friendly partnership (?)

Anyway, less manifesting bad things, more clowning. And speaking of clowning…

We know there’s likely going to be a ball, and the Winx should probably all be there. This kind of thing is usually by the end of the season, so we can also assume that.

So, what if Riven and Musa have to dance for whatever reason? Maybe just as friends?

The breakup doesn’t have to be bad for that to happen, some awkwardness is normal.

but also that parallel? riven being all like “mind fairies are walking red flags” to suddenly “oh she looks so pretty in that red dress”

the way riven could so easily make a joke about her getting physical again when they are dancing? the way the training has made them so aware of each other’s bodies and moves? the way i am currently spiralling in bed over this? pls i need it all so bad i am back on my rivusa clown shit and i am ready to make it everybody’s problem

That other anon read my mind, I swear. I’m the one who was talking about Flora theories the other day, and about her getting involved with what is going on. I can honestly see her either coming into Alfea with the explicit purpose of doing so, or her not knowing things but picking up on them soon. I always found Flora to be quite perceptive, even if she wasn’t always able to express things as well as she would have liked. So, imagine her soon becoming aware of the situation, and being curious about Riven. On one hand, she sees him as being this huge ‘asshole,’ and behaving in a certain way when people are around; on the other, she sees how different he is when he starts being friends with Musa, and generally picks up on how there’s something amiss with Riven being a part of Rosalind’s plan. So they become friends, Riven is very reluctant at first and makes comments, but Flora isn’t deterred by this (she’s just too good) and doesn’t give up. Next thing you know they’re making plans together, he giving her information and helping her find ways to free Farah (I go by the theory that Nature saved her and she’s trapped in a tree or something like Faragonda in s3). In the meantime, she helps him be more open, encourages him to be honest with Musa (which he doesn’t end up doing entirely because she’s with Sam and he wants to respect that, also doesn’t think he’s worth it), and they become like brother and sister. The time comes when Rosalind’s control on him gets too dangerous (maybe she wants Riven to do something particularly bad), and they realise they can’t play double agents anymore, so Flora is the one who runs and asks Musa for help. It’s the end of the season, Musa has broken up with Sam and starts to be unconsciously jealous of Flora. She obviously picks up on it and is a mixture of amused and embarrassed, then tells her something like ‘he needs you.’ And yeah, Riven’s definitely super protective when Helia comes along because that’s his sister, but when the air is cleared the four of them become really really close.
