Do you think you can reminisce too much? . Now don’t get me wrong, I quite often will think about some of the good moments in my life and pour over old gig photos hoping to conjure up some of that adrenaline. As a performer i find it easy to build up to a gig for weeks and then for it pass in what seems like a few minutes and it’s so easy to try and live in the memory for just a moment longer. . In small doses I think it’s fine and I even find it encouraging and motivating to look at my accomplishments because it spurs me on to keep creating those moments and makes me proud. What doesn’t help is when we get trapped in the dream and instead of a quick glance back we end up being bogged down by doubt and insecurities. I have had moments in my life where I have battled the idea that I may never do anything as enjoyable or “lofty” again. In reality it is such an outrageous way to think but it can be so crippling and the sad irony is that too much time looking backwards will really impair our ability to move forward. . There are always going to be good and bad moments so don’t try and compare them, just be present and savour every experience you have. . Am I right, am I wrong? What do you think? If you've come here for a description ... I guess I'd better have one... So far it's very simple ... I am posting songs that I recorded from Sept 2019 and ongoing. I play tenor sax and I try to make these beautiful songs sound as sweet as I can. I try to stick to the song and bring out it's magic ... I'm not trying to show how cool I am ... but simply to play these songs as they were years ago when they were new and I loved them.
