so many people mentioning how Rose is so much like her dad because she’s stubborn, not enough people mentioning how Rose is so much like her dad because she also takes the time to draw silly little sketches in every entry of her journal

good night imma go to sleep with the thought that Ethan’s death in the main game was him all alone in fear and in pain and without any proper goodbyes and broken by the thought he’d never watch his daughter grow up, the daughter for whose safety he was dying in the first place
and his “death” in Shadows of Rose was him being held in Rose’s arms, not only seeing Rose grown up but also seeing how she grew from uncertainty and hate for herself into confidence and self-love, being able to express his love and pride for her, hearing Rose tell him she loves him, staying by his side and holding him close, and even though he was still in pain he was not alone. He could smile, and be happy, and be proud. He could be at peace.

I love how Capcom said Shadows of Rose would wrap up the Winters’ story... and then just casually drops the fact that Rose, a 16 year old, hasn’t seen her mother in ages. That’s not wrapping things up. Where is Mia then? Why hasn’t her teenage daughter seen her in so long? I thought they’d been living together this entire time with Chris helicoptering over them.

It's fine to be disappointed about not seeing the Lords, but dear God stop shitting on the DLC because of it. Just because you wanted to see them doesn't mean it was gonna happen. This DLC isn't about the Lords, and it never was. It's about Rose. It's about her journey to accepting her powers, accepting that she's a little weird but that's OKAY and it's worth it because she can do cool things and she has the best dad ever. Overcoming her insecurities, learning to care for herself and know she's worth love because Ethan loves her so fucking much. It's about Rose learning more about herself. It's about Rose getting to talk to her dad, just once. Getting to hear him say "I love you". It's about Rose learning more about the events that led to her father sacrificing himself to save her, which she was apparently never told. It's about Rose gaining confidence in herself, in her abilities. It's about Rose finding a passion to fight back, to survive, to not conform. It was never about the Lords.

AU idea/ fic prompt for Shadow of Rose DLC.
Where as well as Michael other people write to Rose some of them seem to be arguing with each other she thinks there are 5 and gives them each names Michel and another one seem to bicker and Rose thinks they may be flirting the other voice that flirts with Michael and tells her about her weapons and upgrades them for her as well as giving explosives with really upsets Michael. Another one just tells her their idiots complains about what they’ve done to the first house and helps her find secret passages. Another one is very quiet but in the doll house guides her through and tells her the creatures weaknesses. Another one sends heling items and tells her about the creatures and weak spots.
In the end not only Ethan shows up but also the 4 lords (though they look more like they did as humans) all of them have been trapped here as well and with Ethan have been figuring out how to defeat Miranda and protect Rose.
Just all the lords being there as well.

Just finished watching the full gameplay of Shadows of Rose DLC and wow, it's truly amazing. What I really fell in love with was the father daughter realtionship of Ethan and Rose. It was beautifully well written and as someone who also had never got to meet their father (mine died before I was born) the scenes between Ethan and Rose was more then beautiful. I fought back tears watching their scenes.
Ethan truly is a wonderful father, even if he couldn't be there in person he still watched over Rose and protected her. His love for his daughter, his family is forever everlasting.
Overall I have to say Capcom did a fantastic job with this DLC. The action, intense moments, and scares made for a wonderful experience but at it's core is the bond between father and daughter. Which in my book was something that was beautifully well done.

While it was a fun twist to swap Donna/Angie for Eveline in the DLC, upon reflection I think it doesn’t really seem fair to take all the visual and gameplay elements that gave Donna the stage to shine as a character and then just…remove her from it.
Like, Evie has her own style. All her dolls in re7 spoke to rural American childhood, all cracked plastic and second-hand flea market finds. Donna’s dolls are all unique and hand-made and way older in their stylings. It’s not the same visual language at all.
