She got a lot of voice notes/me recording my screen and rambling incoherently about it. She's a very patient woman and I think that's very sexy of her.

Meals and Musings

Another piece from Shio @the-littlest-kojin after discussing survivor's guilt that Rubi might experience. From what I know of 7.0 so far I may have plenty of ideas for these two in a completely different context and setting - a more relaxed vibe which they all well deserve both <3

Standing over the pan, Gisenne hums quietly to herself, slowly turning the wooden spoon dextrously between her fingers. Turning the food to a high flame, she hears the vast, heavy footsteps of her love behind her. Leaning back into his touch, she smiles quietly as his arm wraps across her shoulders - warm and pleasant to the touch, as ever.

“It’s nearly done,” she murmurs, “And I hope you will like it.”

Gently taking the spoon from her hand - the implement seeming utterly miniscule in his larger hand - Rubicante dips it into the food, bringing it up to his face. Gently sniffing it and placing a small portion in his mouth, he starts in surprise.

“I was… Not expecting the sense of taste to be so potent. The Alchemists were… Surprisingly skilled at creating this body. What was this dish called?”

A low laugh escapes Gisenne’s lips as she turns in his embrace, looking up at his face. The surprise painted across his inhuman features is obvious, and brings a smile to her own visage. Gently kissing his jaw, the warmth radiating through the point of contact, she takes the spoon back, resuming stirring the pan. “It’s called paella. It’s one of my favourite foods.”

“I see. I am… Still adjusting to having a sense of taste at all. I think I would need to eat more foods before I could declare this one my favourite. However… I do enjoy you cooking for me.”

Humming again, Gisenne rests her shoulders against his chest. The smell of seafood permeates the small kitchen as she watches the crust slowly form, in the embrace of her lover.

“So voidsent do not have a sense of taste, then?”

“No. Absorbing aether does not have a taste - more of a feel. So culinary matters are… Novel, to me. Lots of things here are.”

Hearing the melancholy in his tone, the Elezen frowns. Turning in his grip again, she reaches up to gently cup his jaw with one hand. Stroking the warm flesh gently, she meets his gaze with hers.

“What’s on your mind, my Ruby?”

A sardonic laugh meets her ears as he shifts - carefully, in the kitchen he is much too large for - until he is seated. Gently pulling her into his lap, his large hands softly caressing her body, he shakes his head.

“This world of yours… Is a wonder. It is a shining jewel, after so many years in the Void. Your star is one of bounty and plenty, and a part of me keeps wondering - when will it all turn to ash, and dust, and smoke, as everything in the Void did for so many years?”

Shifting herself closer to him, cradled in his grip, Gisenne makes no response, giving him the space he needs. Gently, she strokes his jaw, silently trying to comfort him as he is vulnerable.

“And my brethren… I weep for them, my Sun. Golbez may have not been entirely honest with me - with all of us - but I do not know. I cannot know. And regardless of his honesty, or intentions… It is a cruel fate for my Voidsent brethren, to be trapped in such a cycle.”

Gently pulling his face down by the jaw, the Elezen presses a kiss to his jaw, unsure how to respond. Cradling the back of her head with one vast hand, he laughs again, the deep sound resonating through her body.

“Here I am bemoaning the state of the Void with my beautiful Sun in my grasp. What fool I, to sound so ungrateful-”

“Shh,” Gisenne interrupts him, her voice soft. “You are not ungrateful. You are speaking your heart - and you are always welcome to do so here.”

Dipping his head, he presses his lips to hers for a slow, lingering kiss. His hands caress her back as he holds her close, slowly breaking the kiss. Warm breath washes over her face as he smiles at her - a small, secret smile.

“I love you, my sun. But for now, shall you finish cooking? I would love to share this meal with you - and many more to come.”

“Of course, my Ruby,” she murmurs, gazing up at him beatifically. “And we will share those meals while working together for your goal - you are correct, and I want to aid you, now and forever.”

visited the itsy bitsy teenie weenie super mini thingy exhibition with rin2 yesterday~ i didn't even know that there was a miniature exhibition in sg until she showed me a tiktok of it. O: it was their second last day and i wasn't expecting a huge crowd bc it didn't seem to have gotten a lot of publicity bUT there were so many ppl in line trying to get in when we went at around 3 pm?? the gallery area was only a small room tho so the queue moved pretty quickly and we were inside in no time.

my favs were the coffeeshop diorama, tomato car and the mini pixel fastfood tvs!! everything was for sale but they were way over my budget so i could only appreciate them with my eyes.

kinda wanna get the linen/room mists from the wicker club. especially the fresh duck (refreshing) and sugar baby (very sweet, like candy) scents. clown moment when i confidently sprayed the samples onto my arm thinking they were perfumes bc i didn't think to read the descriptions first. 🤡

before we went to the exhibition, we had a lunch at madu the bakery cafe which was, very coincidentally, just two shophouses away from where the exhibition was being held. we wanted to take a bus over bc the sun was being a deadly laser but we couldn't get on the bus and the next one was going to be another 16++ min wait so we decided to walk instead. it wasn't a long walk over bUT tHE sUn....

it was lucky for us that a table for two just got vacated when we arrived at the cafe. super glad that the cafe provided unlimited refills of plain water at no extra cost but i did also order myself an iced lychee jasmine tea. mmmm rly needed that icy cold drink after being baked by the sun.

got their breakfast bun, kaya butter shio pan and muah chee roll cake to share!! the potato salad inside the breakfast bun had just the right amount of flavour. the egg was still runny and not completely cooked through, which was also a plus point. the shio pan wasn't salty but the texture was good and you can't go wrong with kaya butter!! we left it out for a while so it got a bit tough to bite through but still good!! finished off our meal with a sweet, fluffy, peanut-y muah chee roll cake. it's not bad but i think they should put more muah chee in it.

i had dinner at my grandma's house. it was my uncle and his family's last day in sg before they return back home to the US so my grandma prepared a feast!! got to eat durians yay!!

i also interacted with my baby cousins for the first time?? i did meet them a few weeks ago but we didn't talk... one of them kept staring at me. ngl i sCAREd. anyway, it turns out that they're actually rly cute. they wanted me to roast them but my brain was gone so i gave them a joe mama joke instead.

man,, i wonder when they'll be back to visit again. alternatively we could all go visit them in the US!! i wanna see what a big, multi-storeyed house looks like.

But, I remembered that I mentioned 'Shio Pan', a bread that looks like a croissant, but actually isn't!

So I decided that it would be funny if Shio Pan was the 'Croissant' in the SMD (Space Manipulation Department)

They always get mistaken for a croissant, to the point that they've accepted it, hell, they even have a nickname based on it, 'Not Croiss', their co-workers call em that.

I don’t think anyone will read this and I doubt I’ll get anything Pride related on the main blog in time for this month. I’m gonna share my OCs sexualities.

Ms. Enswell is a bisexual woman. She’s never dated a woman and she’s in love with a man, but she finds herself admiring the fem staff of the WVBA more and more as well as her classmates at her capoeira lessons. Her adoptive mother and father are very supportive, but it’s taken until now in her early thirties just to wear a pin. Her bio family was catholic and said abhorrent things about the community and even after getting saved from that household there was a lot of internalized hate. She’s never been cruel to others in the community it felt repulsed by them, but also felt ashamed at being unable to join them. She’s never attended anything Pride related herself because she feels like she hasn’t earned the right to count.

Nurse Shio is a straight ally, but her twin brother was gay. She’s at best a biiiit flexible but overall she’s just a humble ally who genuinely ti this day can’t understand the grounds for hate.

Blood Eagle isn’t sure if he would fall under bi or pan, but he’s also definitely Demi (sexual and romantic.) In order to get involved he needs the intimate history of talking, bonding, connecting. He’s not interested in dating, but if he finds himself connecting with someone it’ll consume his thoughts until he acts in it. He’s afraid of losing his individuality and his alone time. He loves people in small doses and wouldn’t know what to do with himself. He has been intimate with men, women, and outside of the binary but just hasn’t felt that click.

Toddy is pansexual. He just lives people and used to be prone to developing crushes regularly. When he was living on Hippo Island he tried dating a guy and girl each, but it was usually the highly revered non-binary Hippoans who astounded him most. As many people have already figured out, Toddy is hopelessly enamored with Heike Kagero. Toddy's not hopeful of ever having his feelings reciprocated however due to their communication and because he's well aware that he doesn't meet the beauty standards that Heike is used to from his own homeland.

Vivian Chatworthy is a transwoman. I was really elated about this one because it was in my head the entire time I was creating her, but I was afraid of being honesty about it for over a year. She's amab, did not have an easy upbringing at all. Her mother rejected her, her father could never truly understand her but tried to and even stood by her when he refused to kick her out of the house like his wife wanted to. She lost him to tragedy right on the cusp of adulthood, used the inheritance to take off to the states to reinvent herself... met the love of her life who, also didn't fully understand, but made more of an attempt than her father did and with information becoming more available over time she was more understood and was able to fully physically transition. It's not a well known fact about her, but she allows for it to just be an open secret. If you know, you know. If you know anything it's that she's loudly supportive alongside her husband and their LGBT child.

Francisco Featherweight is... my least favorite character. He's bisexual but almost kind of prefers identifying as gay. I'm not very interested in him, but he has a particularly difficult home life. He's a gay man into defying typical gender norms, he's into makeup and styling clothing from the womens section, he miiiiiight have a history as a male stripper, and his father is... cruel to him about it. He has a cruel family. His family openly lambast him online. He's having a good time with his fame but he has a bit of an attitude and can be entitled to things and people at time because he does feel he deserves things to go his way at this point in his life. He'll get better I think. Honestly just writing this makes me more sympathetic towards him.

One of Toddy's younger sisters turns out to be a lesbian later down the line (I'm pretty sure Tepache) whereas the other is straight and asexual.

And finally, Moira Ryan, Aran's twin sister... is a closeted lesbian who is deeply in denial. She dated Narcis Prince for over a year and it ended horribly - they do not like one another at all and are both very resentful of one another. It's an issue even Aran won't touch with a fifty foot pole. Moira is deeply attracted to some of the girls on the WVBA staff, but doesn't have a planned ship or a specific crush at this time. She's afraid of coming out because she doesn't want her parents to treat her the way they treat her brother. She still tries dating other men, entering relationships with male influencers who keep up with the WVBA, but deep down all she wants is just for a woman to hold her away from the general public. She's just ready for anyone to know, she's not even ready to be honest with herself. Aran of course has no idea and her dating Narcis feels more like a slight towards him, hooking up with his nemesis.

Aburi-style 💯 . I don’t consider Vancouver’s Japanese food scene quite as strong as their Chinese cuisine and they’re prob a level below SF/LA/NYC . That being said, there are numerous options and izakaya/sushiya to choose from . Miku is among the top rated and having tried Kingyo and Guu I was looking for an experience more centered around sushi . Aburi sushi is a subset of nigiri characterized by finishing the sushi with flame searing and often matched with preparing in a box style or oshi style . The salmon is particularly outstanding and we had a lovely meal.
