A/N: I realized that I didn't have anything to post for Valentine's Day, so here's the first chapter of the AoG sequel! We're starting out spicy, lol. 😏🔥
As always, let me know if you'd like to be tagged!
Matt Murdock smiled as he got dressed for work, the sound of his wife muttering to herself as she fiddled with the ice maker on their new refrigerator three floors down filling him with happiness.
He and Y/N had been married about a month and a half and had been slowly getting their 4-story townhouse -- the dream home that Matt had surprised Y/N with as a wedding gift -- situated and furnished, starting with their bedroom then moving down to the first floor before working their way back up.
He chuckled as Y/N made a sound of triumph, the ice maker finally doing what she wanted it to do.
He finished tying his tie and made his way downstairs, heading into the kitchen where Y/N was now standing at the counter packing her lunch while waiting for her iced coffee to finish brewing.
Y/N turned and gave him a kiss. “Morning, husband.”
Matt smiled as he kissed her back. “Mmm. Morning, wife.”
Y/N began to move back towards their coffee maker. “I think I managed to get the voice control on the refrigerator programmed.”
“Oh, great --” Matt's brow furrowed. “Hey, wait a second.”
Y/N paused. “What's up?”
Matt moved behind her and nuzzled her neck. “Are you using a new body wash?”
Y/N hummed, tilting her head to the side to give Matt better access. “No, it's the same one I've always used. Why?”
Matt shrugged. “You smell different.”
“Huh, that's odd. I haven't switched anything -- still using the same body wash, same shampoo, same antiperspirant… I haven't even used a different lotion since I found that one that doesn't overwhelm your senses.”
Matt shook his head and nuzzled Y/N's neck again, the change in her scent awakening something primal in him. “I'm not complaining, angel.”
He grazed her pulse point with his teeth before soothing the spot with a kiss. “It's actually really turning me on.”
Y/N let out a soft whimper, the sound sending shockwaves straight to Matt's cock. “Matt, baby, unless you want to be late for court I suggest you not do that, because I will drag you back upstairs to our bedroom and have my wicked way with you.”
Matt chuckled lowly before wrapping one hand around Y/N’s waist while creeping his other one under the dress she wore. “Who said we have to go all the way upstairs, angel? Who said I can't just fuck you right here in our kitchen?”
He slid his hand inside Y/N’s underwear and slipped a finger between her weeping folds, groaning at the slickness that coated his digit. “Mmm, especially when you're already this needy for me.”
Y/N gasped and gripped the counter, the scent of her arousal becoming even stronger. “Matt, Matty, baby, please…”
Matt lightly circled her bud with his fingertip. “Is that a yes, sweetheart?”
Y/N moaned as she reached under her dress to pull her underwear down. “Yes, Matthew, fuck. Want your cock inside me.”
Matt unbuckled his belt and unbuttoned his pants, pulling his pants and boxers down just enough to free his hard cock.
He gave himself a few strokes and lined up with Y/N’s entrance before easily sliding inside her.
He groaned as Y/N’s walls tightened around him. “Jesus , angel, you feel incredible.”
Y/N gasped. “God, so do you, Matty. Need you to fuck me, please.”
Matt pulled out until just his tip remained inside Y/N then slowly pushed back in. “Like this, sweetheart?”
He could feel the displacement of air as Y/N vigorously shook her head. “Want it hard and deep, Matty.”
Matt let out a low rumble from deep in his chest. “Oh yeah? Want a reminder of who this cunt belongs to?”
Y/N clenched around him. “Uh huh. Want to still feel you inside me while I’m sitting at my desk at work today.”
Matt pulled out once again then slammed his hips upwards, Y/N’s cry of ecstasy music to his ears.
Y/N hands flew out and grasped the counter. “Fuck -- need it just like that, baby, please.”
Matt began to fuck her in a rough pace, Y/N’s hips slamming back into him with each thrust. “Christ, sweetheart, I can feel you clenching around me. You're so fucking close already, aren't you, angel?”
Y/N’s head fell back against Matt's shoulder, one of her hands reaching up to caress his cheek. “Uh huh, feels so good, Matty. Want you to come inside me, fill me up.”
Matt growled then reached down and picked Y/N’s leg up to bend her against the counter, the new angle allowing him to drive even deeper into her. “Touch yourself for me.”
Y/N’s hand that had been caressing Matt's face reached down to rub her bud. “Fuck, Matt, right there, sweetheart, don't stop, please --”
Matt groaned, the combination of Y/N’s desire for him and whatever was different about her scent making his head spin. “I gotcha, angel, gonna leave you full just like you need.”
He snaked his hand that was gripping her hip up to her neck, applying a gentle pressure around her throat. “Be a good wife and come for me, Y/N.”
Y/N’s breath hitched as she tightened around him. “Matt, yes-- ”
Matt slammed his hips upwards into Y/N one last time with a groan, his cock releasing stream after stream of his seed deep inside her as she came around him.
Y/N slumped against the counter, panting.
Matt carefully set Y/N’s leg down, making sure she remained steady on her feet. “You okay, angel?”
Y/N sighed blissfully. “Never fucking better.”
Matt chuckled then carefully pulled out of her, tucking himself back into his pants before grabbing a paper towel and dampening it so he could clean Y/N up.
He tilted his head to the side as he heard Y/N pull her underwear back up, his nostrils flaring at the scent of their mixed release soaking the fabric. “Are you…”
Y/N turned and gave him a kiss. “I told you I wanted to still feel you inside me while I was sitting at my desk at work today.”
Matt's spent cock gave a feeble twitch of interest. “I swear if I didn't have court today I'd be dragging you back upstairs to bed.”
Y/N buttoned and zipped Matt's pants up for him then adjusted his tie. “Mmm, raincheck for tonight?”
Matt nodded as he buckled his belt. “Court should adjourn pretty early today, so how about I make something special for dinner and we can have a date night in the garden? And we can sit on the swing Aunt Ruth gave us as a housewarming gift since it's finally starting to warm up outside.”
Y/N slid her hands down Matt's back and gently squeezed the globes of his ass. “That sounds perfect, Matty. Love you.”
Matt grinned as she handed him a travel mug of coffee. “Love you too, angel. See you tonight.”
Y/N gave him a kiss. “Now go get ‘em, counselor.”
Matt grabbed his briefcase off of the end table in the foyer and headed out the door, hurrying to catch a cab so he wouldn't actually be late for work. He still couldn't figure out what was different about Y/N’s scent, but it had certainly been a fun way to start the morning.

Fanzine Friday #10: Skills (2009) by Sabrina Simon
Skills is a DIY zine about common household tasks and fun projects. Following last week's canning theme, here is the section about food preservation, with an additional recipe for a baking soda volcano.

Food Preservation
I've been interested in food preservation for a while now and have figured out a few different ways to save fresh produce for use at a later date.
Freezing
Many vegetables can be preserved simply by freezing. All you need is a plastic bag with no holes and a top that seals completely. Cook the vegetables (fully or partially), stick `em in a bag, stick the bag in the freezer, and there you go!
To prevent things from freezing in a clump, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet, place the sheet in the freezer, then transfer to storage bag when they are frozen through.
To freeze corn, cook it as you normally would, then cut the kernels off of the cob. Sometimes when cooked corn-on-the-cob sits around it gets pale and wrinkly, but after cutting it off the cob and freezing it, it will have a plump, yellow appearance. Nice.
Berries and grapes can be frozen raw.
Bananas can be placed in the freezer for later use. The skins turn brown but does not have an effect on flavor.
To freeze ranges and lemons: zest and juice the fruit then freeze the zest and the juice separately, in a plastic bag or ice cube tray; or just stick them in there whole; or cut into sections and store in bags.
Canning
Canning food may seem like an antiquated, labor-intensive idea, but it is actually simple once you know the process.
The Basic Boiling Water Canning Process
Obtain canning jars and lids— that is jars that have a flat lid and a bans band. You must use a new flat lid every time you can, but screw bands can be re-used. Wash the jars, bands, and lids in hot soapy water. Using a dishwasher is fine. Let dry thoroughly. Please follow a recipe for the food you want to can, because you need to make sure there is enough acid in the product so it won't spoil.
Prepare a canner. A canner is a large pot with a lid and a rack in the bottom. The rack is important because water must be able to circulate sides of the canning jar. Assemble your own canner by obtaining a pot deep enough to fit your jar and something that will keep the jars from touching the bottom and allow circulation. Try a toaster oven rack or a metal colander.
Fill the jars with the fruits or vegetables to be canned. It is important to leave "headspace" at the top of the can, as per recipe instructions. For boiling water canning, maker sure to leave 1/2 inch of space between the food and the top of the jar.
Use a clean, wet cloth to wipe around the jar tops. They should be totally clean.
Place a flat lid on the jar, and screw on the bands tightly.
Place the rack in the pot, fill pot halfway with water, place the cans in the pot, and top up with boiling water - enough so that cans are covered with one inch of water above them. Place lid on canner and start timing as per recipe instructions. If need be, top up the pot with more boiling water so that there is always one inch above the jars. Remember not to let jars touch the sides or bottom of the pan or each other. Also, always keep the lid on.
Remove jars from the canner and place on a rack to cool. When they are cool, check to make sure that all of the jars sealed. A sealed jar will have a dip in the lid that does not give. An unsealed jar will "pop" up and down if you press on the lid. If any jars are unsealed, you can try resealing them immediately (by the same process), or else just refrigerate and use within a few days.
Label jars with the date of canning. Store in a cool, dark, and dry place and use within one year. Now wasn't that fun?
Applesauce
I made and canned applesauce and you can to!
This recipe makes about six pints of applesauce. I live in a house with five other people so having a ton of applesauce is fine by us, but feel free to cut the recipe in half.
Start by peeling, coring, and cutting eight pounds of cooking apples.* I've got one of those hand-crank apple peelers which is perfect for this. Otherwise—recruit your friends to help you, because this is a LOT of apples!
*I suggest using a combo of Granny Smith & Golden Delicious apples.
Place apples, 2 cups of water, and a couple cinnamon sticks (if you want) in a huge pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until apples are very tender. Stir often. Depending on what type of apple you use and how small they are chopped, this could take anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes.
Remove cinnamon sticks. Mush apples to a consistency you like. I like a chunky kind of applesauce so I just smash it a bit with a potato masher.. If you want it smoother, run it through a food mill or ricer and put it back in the pot. If you want, add sugar to taste (brown sugar is nice) and more water, if it seems a little thick.
Bring sauce up to boiling. Pour the sauce into the clean jars— they should still be warm. Wipe the rims of the jars and apply lids and bands. Process for 15 minutes using instructions above.
***An obvious way to preserve fruit is by canning your own jam/jelly/preserves. I can't stomach that sort of thing, so I've never made it. If you have a jam-type recipe you're willing to share, please send it in! ***
Baking Soda & Vinegar
Another cheap + easy way to entertain the kids is to make a baking soda volcano! Simply put some baking soda in a glass, dribble in a bit of vinegar, and watch it foam & expand & hiss. It's pretty fun. Add some food dye for special effects. Bonus points if you do it in the sink: the foaming action can help unclog a drain, the soda is a good abrasive for cleaning, and it will also neutralize odors. Sweet! (Note: don't overdo it - a little bit of each product goes a very long way!)

Beach Episode
Tumblr media
It was a hot day today at Megapolis, and when I mean hot. I mean very, very hot. Like it's so hot that you could probably cook some eggs on the sidewalk.
"Sizzle, Sizzle, Megapolis City. It's hot out there! But don't fret it or sweat it. To beat the heat, you just gotta hydrate and refrigerate. Get yourself a nice frosty ice cream cone. Stay out of the Sun, or you'll end up well-done. Find some shade, or better yet, go on and get wet, wet, wet! Talking about a fishing hole or a swimming pool, fool! Stroll down to your friendly neighborhood river, lake, or stream, and leave the cool tubes to me."
"Ugh it's so hot..." MK groaned as she was fanning herself, sweating a lot.
"You said it, MK. Today is very hot." Mei replied as she was sweating too, her jacket wrapped around her waist and slouching over her chair.
"Hey, why not go to the Weather Station?" Mei suggested, MK shook her head. "Can't, it's still being repaired after Red Son took over it."
MK groaned in frustration, the one day she couldn't be more mad at the fire demon.
"Pigsy, Tang? You guys, okay??" MK asked, she glanced down and sees them sprawled down on the floor. "Stupid hot weather." Pigsy groaned, wiping sweat from his face.
"I think...this is the end for me." Tang groaned as well, his glasses halfway off his face. "I always knew we'd go out together, my sweet."
"Aw that's swell Tang."
Mei was about complain until she came up with the perfect solution. "Ooh, I know! We should all go to the beach!!" Mei said as MK, Pigsy, Tang liked the idea.
It's been such a long time since they all went to the beach--probably because everyone just goes to the Weather Station instead.
"Ooh! That's sounds like a great idea, I can buy me that swimsuit I saw the other day!" She grinned excitedly, scrolling through her phone for swimsuits.
"It better not be inappropriate, young lady!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yeah, I think I could get used to this," Tang sighed in relief at the cool shade that was the umbrella he laid under, swirling an icy drink in his hand, he glanced over to the grumbling pig at his side. "C'mon, cheer up hon, Enjoy yourself."
"How can I, I told the kid not to pick that damn swimsuit." Pigsy murmured irritatedly, eyes darting around the crowded coast. A hand grasped his, comforting thumbs that traced over his knuckles.
"As much as you don't like it she Is growing up, and you're going to have to accept that."
The chef demon just grumbled, "Hey c'mon, take a break and relax. Please, My big strong noodle maker?~" Tang cooed, scratching Pigsy under his chin, making him squeal in delight.
A soft smile growing on his face, before turning to the sea with uncertainty. "Okay, Okay, hon. Whatever you--Aaugh!!" His face was caked with sand as a volleyball hits him in the face.
"My bad, Pigsy!" Mei called out.
"Me as well!" Sandy called out.
Pigsy growled and was about to yell at the river demon and dragon girl, until they all heard screaming, they looked to see everyone running away. "What the heck is going on?" He questioned.
"Oh no..." Tang sighed, having a clue to what's happening.
"Peasants!!" A familiar voice shouted, The group sighed in irritation.
The bull prince, Red Son stands before the group with millions of his Bull Clones behind him. He wears a white visor, a pair of sunglasses with an indigo rim, a black tank top, a pair of indigo swim trunks with a white stripe running down each side, and brown flip flops.
"What do you want, Red Boy?" Mei demanded, tapping her foot on the sand. "We don't really feel like fighting you today."
He scoffed, taking off his shades. "Please, As if I wish to fight you peasants today, I'm here to enjoy myself, As like the rest of you."
"That's reassuring." The pig demon grumbled, sitting back into the shade. Red Son looked around, as if someone was missing. "What? Noodle girl isn't here to save you all today?" He cackled.
"For your information MK's here, she's on the other side of the beach enjoying herself." The dragon girl pointed to the other side of the beach, towards the water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Whoo!"
She let out a loud cheer as she jumped into the water, riding the waves wearing a black two-piece swimsuit with flower prints.
The brunette screams as she looses her footing off the board and into the ocean. MK's head shot up from the water as she laughed, feeling her body relaxed from the intense heat. "Whoo! Now this is more like it." She then started swimming as she got out and dryed herself with a towel.
She lie down on her beach towel and starts reading a Monkey King comic book. She started reading but five minutes later, she was just starting to doze off when two shadows appearing over her startled her awake.
"Huh? What the?" She murmured, sitting up to stretch, She looked up and saw two demons that were gawking and grinning at her.
"Oh no, not this..."
"Excuse me pretty lady, but me and my friend couldn't help but admire you from afar~" one of them said seductively, waggling his eyebrows.
He had dark green eyes, a pig-like nose, buck-tooth grin, and short, messy red hair.
"Yeah, smokin' hot in that bikini!" The other agreed. He had slicked back black hair, black and white horns, lavender skin and a little stubble on his pointy jaw. His brown eyes glinted with mischief.
MK rolled her eyes at their crude remarks. "Wow, that's very sweet of you to say," she said sarcastically before going back to her comic book. "But please go away, Thank you."
"Aw, no need to be so cold darlin' I'm Stone, this is my friend, Wayne." He introduced himself and his friend.
"Say, wait a minute," Wayne suddenly said, eyes widening in recognition. "You're that Monkie Kid chick!"
"Really?" Stone leaned in towards MK, getting far too close in personal to her face, peering at her with narrowed eyes. "Hey! You're right, She is!"
"Yeah, what of it?" She crossed her arms, clearly not in the mood to be bothered by these guys.
"Aw, no need to be so cold darlin' We're really huge fans of yours you know." Wayne nudged his friend in the arm, grinning.
"Hmph! Yeah, I'm sure you are."
"Oh, no, it's true, we are! Ain't that right, Stone?" He nodded quickly.
"Definitely! So whatcha doin' here all by yourself?" Stone asked.
"That's None of your business, jerk." MK replied hotly. "Look, leave me alone, okay?" MK shoved past them, heading back towards the water where she hoped she could cool down, not only from the heat of the sun, but from having to put up with these perverts.
"Aw Cmon darlin' don't leave," Stone growled as he and Wayne chased her down and gripped her both arms tightly. "Not without an autograph at least~" He cooed, wiggling his eyebrows.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No fair, you cheated!"
"I did no such thing. I won your little game fair and square!"
"You didn't have to hit the volleyball that hard, you little punk!" Pigsy scowled the fire demon while tending to his unconscious husband, who has a shiner on his head.
As they continued bickering, a loud, panicked scream pierced through the white sandy beaches, Sandy's ears perked, his large amber eyes went out towards the area, scanning it. He gasped. "Oh no, no look!" He points to a spot further out into the deeper section of the water.
Red Son followed his gaze, squinting to find what the gentle giant was referring too. Once he saw it, his eyes widened then narrowed in anger.
He growled.
"Hey, what are you?"
Before Mei could question him, Red Son was shoving past the group, zooming towards the water, shoving past anyone in his path.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Alright, I'm warning you pricks to buzz off, Or else I'll show you what happens to those who mess with The Monkie Kid!" MK hissed, towering over the boys hoping they'd buy her bluff and leave her alone.
Unfortunately, these two were smarter than she anticipated. "Oooh, sounds like fun! Can wanna see~!"
MK shrieked as she suddenly felt her bikini top loosen, the strings falling across her shoulders. "GET OFF ME!" MK screamed, She cried out when she found herself tackled from behind.
Oh, that's it she swore she would handle this and not pull out her staff but that's it!!
Unfortunately, someone has already beaten her to the punch, literally. An incoming fist landed on Stone's face, sending the jerk flying inches away from MK.
Both MK and Wayne froze when they heard the deep growling and the smell of smoke. MK glanced over Wayne's shoulder and saw the familiar red headed demon, His normal green eyes were glowing with a red burning rage, his hair blazing fire, smoke snorting from his nose and his mouth was drawn back in a menacing snarl, revealing his very sharp and deadly-looking teeth.
"I believe she told you both to 'Go away'," Red Son rumbled. "Or are the both of you hard of hearing."
"Woah, c-calm down pal. W-we were just playing around with her! Just having a little fun is all!" Wayne insisted, but immediately fell silent with the icy stare that was sent his way.
Red Son quickly glanced over to MK, who had her back turned to them, attempting to retie her top--surely to have come undone by those guys, The mere sight of her trembling state made his heart ache inside.
And he did like it. One. Bit!!
Red Son grabbed the two creeps by the back of their necks, holding him up in the air. The two yelped and struggled, but the fire user's grip was too strong.
"You hideous second rate demons have the audacity to harass an innocent young woman just because she said no!? It's filthy peasants like you who make it hard for women today to enjoy the beach comfortably."
"Wow, who knew Red Son was such a feminist."
"You can't help but try to get your grubby little hands on them and then assault them when they don't want to have anything to do with you. Well, let me just warn you..." He shoved them to the hot sand, hovering over them, a wicked grin plastered on his face.
"If I ever catch you fuckers pestering her or anywhere near her again, I will personally show you what happens to those messes with me, Understand"
Y-y-yes s-s-s-sir!" The demons stammered, giving him a shaky salute. "W-w-we promise! J-j-just spare us!"
Red's mouth turned up into an impish smirk. "Don't worry, I wouldn't dream of touching the likes of you, however..." he let his sentence hang there.
Wayne and Stone nervously turned around and his Bull Clones surrounded them, General Ironclad pounding on his robotic fists.
Extremely satisfied, The Bull prince left them to the beatdown they were receiving. He goes over to MK's side, who had finished fixing herself up. "Honestly, Noodle Girl, surely you could have put up a better fight than--" He was cut off when MK launched herself towards him, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug, making him freeze up.
"Thank you..." She whimpered, burying her face into his chest.
"I-I-I..." Red Son stood there flustered, his entire face pink, his heart pounding, he could swear he saw little hearts floating over him. "Y-You're...Your Welcome?" He finally managed to say.
"MK, are you alright?" Mei asked frantically as the prince wrapped his towel around her shaking frame, eyebrows furrowed in concern.
"Yeah I'm fine, I'm okay," MK fixed her best friend with a tired smile. "Just a little worn out is all."
"Thanks for helping me, Red," the Monkie kid eventually spoke, smiling. The fire demon looked away uncomfortably, still trying to keep his composure. "I mean, I-I, Uhh..." He stammered, trying not to blush.
"Wow, never took you for the gentlemen type, Red Boi.." Mei said, crossing her arms.
"It's Red Son! And How dare you," Red Son screeched, looking rather offended. "I may be a villain but I was taught to respect a woman!"
MK gaped in awe as she could feel her heart race, 'A woman? Wow that doesn't sound half bad' Her face as red as a tomato at him referring to her as a woman rather than girl.
MK took a glance at the viewers watching, or reading.
"I think he's starting to grow on us, don't you think?"
"Uh, MK who are you talking to?" Sandy asked her.
"Uhh..."

Peach Bourbon Ice Cream
Back in the day, come August, you could find peach ice cream in the stores. Breyer’s I think. It was a one-month thing, like so many foods back then that you ate in-season only and knew they were special and you’d better have them while you could.
These days we’ve become used to and maybe even complacent about the availability of ingredients. Strawberries for example, once so special during the summer, are year round now (and IMHO they don’t taste anything like the seasonal stuff from the old days).
Still, there are a few items that, even today, are only around for a short, get-it-while-you-can time. Shad. Persimmons. Fresh figs.
Also peach ice cream. Somehow, although we can now find peaches throughout the year, peach ice cream still seems to be a summertime-only treat. I’ve bought (and enjoyed) several tubsful recently.
But I couldn’t find a store or stand (near me) that sold peach ice cream flavored with bourbon.
So I made my own.
It was quite wonderful.
I experimented a few times to get the proportions right and the fruit texture correct. Also, I used nectarines, which are easier to peel.
PEACH BOURBON ICE CREAM
3 ripe peaches or nectarines
1-1/2 tablespoons melted butter
2-1/2 cups cream (I use half and half)
4 large egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
3 tablespoons bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Peel and slice the peaches. Place the slices on a baking sheet. Pour the melted butter over the fruit and toss the ingredients to coat the fruit with the melted butter. Roast for about 12 minutes or until lightly crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool. When cool, process in a food processor until nearly pureed.
While the peaches are roasting, heat 2 cups of the cream in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the liquid is hot and bubbles have formed around the sides of the pan. Set aside. Beat the egg yolks, sugar and salt together with an electric mixer set at medium speed until the mixture is thick and pale (4-5 minutes). Gradually add the warm cream to the egg mixture, stirring to blend ingredients to a uniform color. Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, for about 12 minutes or until it has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon. Do not let the mixture come to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the remaining cold cream, the bourbon and vanilla extract. Refrigerate the mixture until it is cold. Freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions. When the ice cream is thick and nearly done, add the peaches, stir the ingredients and freeze until firm.
Makes 1-quart+

Transforming Spaces: A Guide to Kitchen Remodels and Custom Outdoor Kitchens
In recent years, the kitchen has evolved from a utilitarian space into the heart of the home, a hub of activity where meals are crafted, memories are made, and conversations flow. This transformation has sparked a surge in kitchen remodels and the creation of custom outdoor kitchens, catering to homeowners' desires for both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Kitchen Remodel: Revitalizing Your Indoor Space
A kitchen remodel is a significant undertaking that can dramatically enhance the value and enjoyment of your home. This process involves more than just updating appliances or repainting walls; it is about reimagining the space to better suit your lifestyle and taste.
The first step in a successful kitchen remodel is thorough planning. Begin by assessing your current kitchen's strengths and weaknesses. Consider what you love about it and what frustrates you. Perhaps the layout feels cramped, storage is insufficient, or the style is outdated. Once you've identified the issues, you can start envisioning your dream kitchen.
Functionality is key in any kitchen remodel. Think about how you use your kitchen and what changes could make your daily routines more efficient. For instance, the "work triangle" concept – the optimal arrangement of the stove, sink, and refrigerator – remains a fundamental principle. However, modern designs also incorporate elements like expansive islands, walk-in pantries, and built-in coffee stations to enhance utility.
In the middle of your kitchen remodel, consider the importance of choosing the right materials. Countertops, cabinetry, and flooring are not only about looks; they must withstand the rigors of daily use. Quartz countertops, for example, offer a perfect blend of beauty and durability, while solid wood cabinets can add a touch of timeless elegance.
Lighting is another crucial aspect. Layered lighting, combining ambient, task, and accent lighting, can dramatically alter the ambiance and functionality of your kitchen. Under-cabinet lights, pendant fixtures over islands, and recessed ceiling lights work together to create a well-lit, inviting space.
Personal style plays a significant role in a kitchen remodel. Whether you prefer a sleek, modern design with stainless steel and clean lines or a cozy, rustic vibe with farmhouse sinks and reclaimed wood, your kitchen should reflect your unique taste. Don't shy away from bold choices, such as colorful backsplashes or statement light fixtures, which can infuse personality into the space.
Custom Outdoor Kitchens: Expanding Your Living Space
As more homeowners seek to maximize their living spaces, custom outdoor kitchens have become increasingly popular. These outdoor culinary areas allow you to enjoy the pleasures of cooking and dining al fresco, providing a perfect setting for entertaining or simply relaxing with family.
Designing a custom outdoor kitchen starts with selecting the right location. Ideally, it should be easily accessible from the indoor kitchen and dining areas, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Additionally, Construction Kitchen Remodel the orientation of your outdoor to take advantage of natural light and provide shelter from prevailing winds.
When planning your custom outdoor kitchen, think about the primary features you want to include. A high-quality grill is often the centerpiece, but additional components such as side burners, pizza ovens, and smokers can elevate your outdoor cooking experience. Incorporating elements like refrigerators, ice makers, and sinks can make the space more self-sufficient, reducing the need to constantly run inside.
Incorporating durable, weather-resistant materials is crucial for the longevity of your outdoor kitchen. Stainless steel appliances are a popular choice due to their resilience and sleek appearance. Countertops made from granite, concrete, or tile can withstand the elements while providing ample workspace.
In the mid of your custom outdoor kitchen project, consider integrating storage solutions to keep utensils, cookware, and dining essentials within easy reach. Cabinets and drawers made from marine-grade polymer or treated wood can endure outdoor conditions while offering practical storage.
Seating and dining areas are integral to an inviting outdoor kitchen. From bar stools around a counter to a full dining table set, the seating should be comfortable and conducive to socializing. Consider adding features like a pergola or an awning to provide shade and define the space.
Lighting also plays a vital role in outdoor kitchens, extending usability into the evening hours. String lights, lanterns, and built-in LED fixtures can create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For safety and convenience, ensure that pathways and cooking areas are well-illuminated.
Finally, personalize your outdoor kitchen to make it a true extension of your home. Incorporate elements such as outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, or water features to enhance the ambiance. Decorate with weather-resistant furnishings, cushions, and decor items that reflect your style.

The Ultimate Guide to Refrigerator Repair: Keeping Your Cool with MDTECH Appliance Repair
youtube
Hey there, folks! Today, we're diving into the world of refrigerator repair. Yep, that essential appliance that keeps our food fresh and our drinks cold. Whether it's a funky noise, a leak, or just not staying cold enough, dealing with refrigerator issues can be a real headache. But fear not! We've got your back, and so does MDTECH Appliance Repair.
Understanding the Basics: How Your Refrigerator Works
Before we get into the nitty-gritty of repairs, let's take a quick peek under the hood (or behind the doors, rather) of your fridge. Understanding how your refrigerator works can help you troubleshoot issues more effectively.
Your fridge works by removing heat from the interior compartments and expelling it outside. It does this through a combination of components like the compressor, condenser coils, evaporator coils, and a coolant substance (usually a refrigerant like Freon).
Common Refrigerator Problems and Solutions
Now, onto the good stuff – the common issues you might encounter with your refrigerator and how to fix them.
1.Refrigerator Not Cooling Properly: Ah, the classic problem. If your fridge isn't keeping things cold, it could be due to a variety of reasons. First things first, check the temperature settings. If those are A-okay, it might be time to clean those condenser coils. Over time, they can get caked with dust and grime, hindering their ability to dissipate heat effectively.
2.Strange Noises: Is your refrigerator suddenly sounding like a jet engine taking off? Don't panic just yet. Often, strange noises can be attributed to a faulty evaporator fan motor or a worn-out condenser fan motor. MDTECH Appliance Repair can diagnose the issue and get things back to their peaceful hum.
3.Leaky Fridge: Nobody likes finding a puddle of water under their fridge. Leaks can be caused by a variety of factors, including a clogged defrost drain or a faulty water inlet valve. It's crucial to address leaks promptly to prevent water damage to your floors and surrounding cabinetry.
4.Ice Maker Malfunctions: If your ice maker has suddenly stopped churning out those glorious ice cubes, there could be an issue with the water supply line, the inlet valve, or even the ice maker itself. MDTECH Appliance Repair specializes in diagnosing and repairing ice maker woes, so you can get back to enjoying chilled beverages ASAP.
5.Fridge Overheating: If your refrigerator feels warm to the touch or if the sides are hot, it could be a sign of overheating components. This could be caused by a malfunctioning condenser fan motor or blocked airflow around the condenser coils. MDTECH Appliance Repair can perform a thorough inspection to pinpoint the culprit and get your fridge running cool once again.
Why Choose MDTECH Appliance Repair for Your Refrigerator Woes
Now, you might be wondering, "Why should I choose MDTECH Appliance Repair for my refrigerator repair needs?" Well, let me tell you:

Step-by-Step Installation Guide for Your Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit
Tumblr media
A refrigerator without an ice maker can be inconvenient, especially during hot summer days or when hosting gatherings. Installing an ice maker kit in your Samsung refrigerator can solve this problem, providing you with a steady supply of ice whenever you need it. In this detailed guide, we will lead you through the steps of installing your Samsung refrigerator ice maker kit, assuring a hassle-free experience.
Pre-Installation Preparations
Before beginning the installation procedure, it's critical to take several basic actions to ensure a seamless installation:
Safety Precautions: When working with appliances and tools, safety should always be the first priority. Before beginning the installation, read the safety instructions included with the ice maker kit. Wear the required protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses.
Tools and Materials Required: Gather all of the tools and materials required for the installation. Depending on your refrigerator type, this usually comprises a wrench, screwdriver, water supply line, tubing cutter, Teflon tape, and, in some cases, a drill.
Checking Compatibility: Make sure the ice maker kit is compatible with your Samsung refrigerator model. If you are unsure, follow the manufacturer's directions or consult a specialist.
Clearing Space: Everything in the area surrounding the ice maker installation should be removed. This will offer you plenty of space to work without causing damage to your refrigerator or other close things.
Unboxing and Inspection
Once you've completed the pre-installation preparations, it's time to unbox the ice maker kit and inspect its contents:
Unboxing: Carefully unpack the Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly Kit, taking care not to damage any components or packaging materials. Keep track of all the parts and pieces to ensure nothing is missing.
Inspection: Check every part of the ice maker kit carefully for any indications of wear or flaws. Particularly, pay special attention to the electrical connections and the water supply line. Get support from the manufacturer if you find any problems.
Familiarization: Take a little time getting to know the ice maker assembly, water supply line, electrical harness, and intake valve, among the other parts of the kit. It'll be lot simpler to install if you know how each component goes together. HnKParts offers a wide range of products, everything you need to maintain and upgrade your refrigerator, including ice maker kits and individual components. From the ice maker assembly to the water inlet valve, water supply line, and electrical harness, it offers top quality parts that are designed to fit seamlessly together, making installation simple.
Installation Process
Now that you're familiar with the ice maker kit, it's time to proceed with the installation:
Shutting off the Water Supply: Before starting any installation work, turn off your refrigerator's water supply. This will stop any unintentional spills or leaks during installation.
Finding the Optimal Location: Locate the ideal spot to install the ice maker inside your refrigerator. Ideally, it should be placed close to the freezer compartment's side or top for convenient access to the ice. For further instructions on installation locations, consult the user handbook that came with your refrigerator.
Connecting the Water Supply Line: To ensure a suitable fit between the refrigerator and the water source, use a tubing cutter to cut the water supply line to the necessary length. Using compression fittings, connect one end of the water supply line to the refrigerator's water input valve and the other to the water supply source.
Mounting the Ice Maker Assembly: Placing the ice maker assembly inside the freezer compartment on the appropriate mounting brackets. For correct ice maker alignment and placement, according to the manufacturer's recommendations, Ascertain a secure attachment by using the screws or mounting hardware that come with the kit.
Connecting the Electrical Components: The electrical wiring from the ice maker component should be carefully connected to the matching outlet within the freezer compartment. Verify that all connections are tight and clear of anything that can impede the ice maker's functionality.
Securing the Ice Maker in Place: After connecting everything, ensure that the ice machine assembly is positioned and aligned correctly. Make sure everything is level and stable before using the proper mounting hardware to fasten it in place.
Testing for Leaks and Functionality:Activate the ice maker in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and turn on the water supply and refrigerator's power. When you discover any leaks or malfunctions, keep a watch on the installation and act quickly to resolve any issues. When the ice maker is working and making ice, you can move on to the last stages of the installation procedure.
Final Steps
With the ice maker installed and operational, it's time to complete the final steps and address any potential issues:
Turning on the Water Supply: To let water enter the ice maker, fully open the water supply valve. Examine the connections for any leaks, and tighten them if required.
Setting up the Ice Maker: To configure the ice maker, including the size of the ice cubes and the rate of production, according to the manufacturer's instructions. Adapt the settings to your needs and preferences for usage.

I Scream, You Scream, Everyone Will Scream
For one of my greatest idols, the immortal Roald Dahl
Hey, it's me, your friendly neighborhood kangarabbit! The possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3720 to 1 (so I've been told). In order for us to get to Dinhcara on the other side, we had to finagle our way through a collection of some of the biggest rocks to ever rock the universe. I swear, some of these bad boys made Namasis look like an ameba on a flea. I never seen Kruonch's piloting skills be put through the ringer as I did that day and still, our precious, newly repaired Spaceslinger suffered a minor concussion to it's back rear. Nevertheless, we trailblazed our way through the asteroid belt wishing that the Spaceslinger was equipped with an ion cannon of some sort to blast those pesky rocks to tidbits, but what did our Tuuny eyes come across but a strange, outer spacey....restaurant?
Tumblr media
That's right, I didn't put nothing in your drink. There was an actual restaurant perched atop of one of these floating boulders. Nasty's, what a wonderful name! There was a similar restaurant on Earth with a more favorable name but that one didn't specialize in cosmic cuisine like Nasty's did. Siobhan immediately started with the tantrums begging her daddy that they stop and have an ice cream, but he was hellbent on getting to Dinhcara and sure as hell didn't have his heart set on eating at a place with a name like Nasty's. That's where I stepped in. We hadn't eaten much since our ordeal on the Blue Sand Planet and Onibloombus, so I too had a tantrum to go and have a bite. Hampire put his fingers in his ears. Maybe the food wouldn't be so bad, the name of the joint was misleading. After all, nothing can be worse than severed head of Trunksuzzle or Wailmagger Stew!
Our waitress was an automaton looking woman Victroximaraca (Vicky for short) who sat us down at a booth and gave us our menus. She reminded me a lot of that robot Bernadette Peters portrayed in Heartbeeps. Wouldn't you know it, the entire selection was nothing but that succulent dairy dish, the freezery favorite from refrigerator city. There was enough ice cream on that menu to coat an entire planet like snow. We each had our own respective desserts and of course I had to pick a sundae which I didn't know contained cosmic peanuts. I slurped them up like no tomorrow and well, let's just say everyone had a good laugh at my expense!
Tumblr media
Just then, Siobhan took a big bite of her ice cream sandwich and
OUCH!
Something hard broke off one of her teeth. She looked inside the sandwich and within it's vanilla inners was, a golden ticket?
Tumblr media
Yes, it was indeed a golden slab of something, more like a metal plate, much like the one I have in my head after I got pulverized in the noggin by a meteorite. Upon the metallic plate said only one word, WONKINS. Siobhan chanted it out loud and within seconds, the front doors of Nasty's flung open. In stepped a reptile looking dude. This guy's nose looked like a sour stick of candy. It was the renowned, acclaimed, most famous ice cream maker in the universe supposedly, Wozniak Wonkins!
Tumblr media
Mr. Wonkins congratulated Siobhan on winning the Golden Slab and invited us all to take a grand tour of his factory located on the ice planet of Fretch. We all put on special snowy gear to keep us warm, although I was quite accustomed to coldness considering Namasis got pretty cold. At least there was a hot fudge river! I couldn't make up what we saw on Fretch if I tried!
Tumblr media
Wonkins had a little alien assistant, an orange creature who didn't talk much but out of nowhere would burst out into song for no apparent reason other than his questionable obsession with ice cream.
Tumblr media
POOKA NOOKA LIKE ICE CREAM, THERE IS ENOUGH TO MAKE YOUR EYES GLEAM! YOU CAN NEVER HAVE QUITE ENOUGH, EVEN WHEN YOUR BLOOD SUGAR'S LOOKING QUITE ROUGH!
Within the frigid confines of Wonkins' Ice Cream Room, we relished in an endless amount of frozen treats as Wonkins and Pooka Nooka sang a song from their nearby banana boat. The song was about pure imagination and changing the world or something like that.
Tumblr media
We ate and we ate until our tolerance for ice cream reached it's tippity top and it was decided that we would all take a little nap within Wonkins' resting chamber. He promised that we'd continue the factory tour when we woke up, so it was off to slumberland for a little while. I slept for about 20 minutes or so when I was awakened by the sounds of what I thought were shrill screams in the distance. The screams got more and more frequent as I awoke Hampire who in turn awoke Kruonch. The three of us wandered down a long hallway, making our way to a doorway where we heard the screams in all their glory. We peeked our eyes in the doorway, being very careful not to be heard or seen and we saw Wonkins, who turned around to reveal a silver streak down his back. It looked like a zipper of some kind and Pooka Nooka strapped some harness device around him, opening up the slit on his back as a little big nosed man stepped out of Wonkins' body. It was a human being! The Wonkins we knew was nothing more than a puppet. What was with all this weird Wizard of Oz shit?!?!
Tumblr media
The little big nosed man stepped up on a large stool as several sugar cone like beings waddled forward. The cones had little eyes on antennas poking out as little big nosed man took his large scooper, scooped up some ice cream and PLOPPED it right down on the sugar cone creatures' body, giving him a creamy, bulbous and quite delectable head. He did this to about 20 or so creatures, even giving some multiple ice cream heads and whipped cream hairdos until he whipped out the dreaded PEANUT BUTTER HABANERO! My nostrils immediately got ticklish as did my throat and
ACHOO! ACHOO! ACHOO!
Hampire and Kruonch did everything to get me to stop sneezing, Hampire even trying to hex my nose off at one point but the damage had already been done! CURSE YOU DAMN ANAPHYLAXIS! We all fell forward like Janga pieces as this Bad Humor Man leaped off his stool to greet us. He was quite nice about the whole thing it seemed, but we could tell he was peed off and his inner anger was starting to seep through. I guess if you had your true self exposed and you weren't some sort of ice cream making dinosaur monster, you'd be pretty upset too!
Tumblr media
Pooka Nooka came up behind us and tranquilized us. When we came to, we were in some sort of metallic chamber. We tried our best to break through the glass but my ears were ineffective as was Kruonch's nose. Hampire tried turning the glass into saran wrap only to crack it ever so slightly, but Bad Humor Man gave a little speech about us not foiling his plans to create an ice cream mutant army and activated his little machine. A strange fan like apparatus swirled above us and our heads started getting fuzzy, tinglish, mushy. It felt like somebody threw a ton of bricks on our heads then mashed our brains with a potato masher then proceeded to freeze them in an icebox for about 3 hours, cut them off, shake them, mix them up in a blender and then place them back on our necks, or should I say, CONE BODIES! That Bad Humor bastard turned us into ICE CREAM MUTANTS! At least I was blueberry instead of peanut butter.
I never felt like such a mindless brute in all my life but there I was, staggering and stumbling about like I just polished about 3 quarts of moonshine. My mouth wanted ever so hard to form words, sentences but all that came out were the usual brutish grunts and growls. It was up to Siobhan and Yam Yam to come to our rescue and indeed they did, but they were in for quite the dilemma.
Tumblr media
Siobhan was armed with a scooper of her own and was attacked by Pooka Nooka.
POOKA NOOKA LIKE ICE CREAM. NOW I WILL MAKE A BIG BRUISE ON YOUR SPLEEN!
Luckily, she whacked him unconscious with the scooper as Yam Yam hurled him into a pot of scalding hot strawberry sauce. The Bad Humor Man got into a brief duel with Siobhan as they clashed their scoopers together like swords. Yam Yam got quite busy taking on an ice cream sandwich monster and a twin pop named Bert and Lato.
Tumblr media
In the end, the Bad Humor Man, Wonkins, whatever his name was was tied up with a large strand of licorice and thrown in a freezer with the rest of his ice cream terrors. It took some coursing, but those two managed to force us back into the ice cream transformation chamber thing and revert us back to our normal selves. Everyone of us was mostly unscathed, except for one minor little inconvenience. I wasn't going to be eating a lot of ice cream ever again anyway, but I think I'm now lactose intolerant. Oh woe is me!

You're On Your Own, Kid || Self-Para
LOCATION: Wyatt Whitmore's Apartment, Los Angeles, California TIME: April 1st - 2nd, 2024 NOTES: A bit of an introductory self-para for my new character.
Tumblr media
The flight felt like forever, but finally they were back on the ground in Los Angeles. Hitching a ride with the one of his other team-mates who lived in the same apartment building, he grabbed his bags before climbing out of the car, using the box near the door to put in a code and open the large glass and metal door, entering the building followed, he made the slow and quite decent in the elevator to his 8th floor, 1 bedroom apartment. Turning on the light switch, lighting up the entry way as he tossed his hockey bags onto the floor near the door, to be ready for practice in the morning.
Once his hands were empty of his bags, he dropped his keys onto the counter top as he entered the kitchen, the sound was deafening by how quiet the whole place felt, moments like this was when he wished he could be home, some of the older players on the team always joked about how being at the rink was home, but for him, being back in Chicago with his family was home, not the quiet cold apartment in LA. Don’t get him wrong, he was 3 years into his NHL career, and he loved LA because it allowed him to play the sport he loved, but he always felt as if something was missing in his life.
With the return home, Wyatt disappeared into the shower, not to wash away his worries, but let the jets of the shower were much needed on his back after the road trip they had, and the hotel showers never hit the right spot between his shoulders to really relieve the tension he had been carrying. Before he knew it, he was climbing into bed barely dressed in clean gym shorts, and his hair not even remotely dried.
Flopping face down on his bed mashing his face into the soft bedspread he lays there for a minute, taking some time to catalog his body’s latest damage. He can feel his knee starting to pang, knowing it was probably because of how he balanced when he shot for his goal, and his ankle wasn’t thrilled about it either, but nothing else seems too bad now that he’s been iced and massaged post-game. Mostly he just feels tired, tired of traveling, tired of losing.
----------
The 7AM jingle that emitted from his phone on the side table next to the bed would’ve been almost too soft to wake Wyatt, but he was already awake, staring up at the ceiling. Wyatt had friends, but there were days like these when he returned from away games, and always felt as if he was dragging, feeling like an NHL Veteran that’s played 1200 games. 3 seasons and almost 300 under his belt, was still a bit of a rookie compared to the other players who had been playing for almost as long as he’s been alive.
Grabbing his phone and sliding it into his gym shorts pocket, he slowly got out of bed, his arms stretching upward, his back popping with the effort as he stretched his body. He then reached forward, trying to get everything stretched out, as all his joints sang a popping chorus. After finishing his morning stretches, and with a few more pops, he got to his feet, the hardwood floors creaked.
With his usual pace, making his all too familiar walk towards the coffee maker, making his usual cup of coffee. Waiting for the Keurig to finish the cup, he jumped up and sat on the countertop, looking out the window, watching as the city skyline was already in a buzz. With a low constant beep from the machine, it notified him that the cup finished, reaching over to grab the mug from the machine, setting it down on the counter next to him as he climbed down, making his way to the refrigerator was his next step. Getting the creamer out and pouring his usual half cup into the bitter black coffee, then taking a spoon out of the drawer in front of him to stir the two together in his usual morning harmony.
Once finished with the mixing, he tossed the used spoon into the kitchen sink and wandered to the large windows looking out into the world. The quiet moment he thought he had was only interrupted by the high pitched sound that came from his phone, notifying him that he had a text, pulling it back out of his pocked, he took a sip of his coffee as he typed in his phone code to unlock his phone, allowing the full message to be read. ‘can I hit u up 4 a ride, jeep won’t start’ It was Quinton, one of the rookies, and his winger ‘Sure’ he typed back quickly, ‘Meet you in the lobby at 8’
Before tossing his phone back into his pocket he looked back at it, checking the time before deciding to wonder back into his bedroom, knowing he had to get ready for practice, and since there was no game tonight, he was able to just dress in casual wear, which for Wyatt means jeans and a hoodie.
As 7:45 rolled around Wyatt lead himself downstairs, with his own bags in tow and he could already see Quinton was waiting for him with his own bags. “How’s everything going in Webby-land?” the rookie quipped as he sipped quietly on his Starbucks he had gotten, “You seem a bit out of it this morning, your face is kind of flush, have you eaten anything”
“Writing a novel?” Wyatt said, a little too harsh in his opinion, he started their walk toward the parking garage, “I had a Coffee.”
“No need to get defensive, man,” the rookie stood up and threw his bags over his shoulder, making sure he didn’t spill his iced latte, he followed and turned to older male, “I was just asking a question.”
“It’s… ha-well you could say-”
“-Let me guess, ‘complicated’?” Quinton stopped, his hand up, as almost to stop Wyatt from anything else. “You always seem to be super grumpy after hard road-losses, I just wanted to check on you.” He inquired as the two finally reached the apartment’s parking garage.
Anyone could tell Wyatt was about to retaliate; his body tensing up, straightening up, they approached his truck. “Are you sure your jeep isn’t running? Or did you ask for a ride so you could check on me?” Wyatt thought out loud, turning his body to face the younger man, the two of them let out a laugh as they tossed their bags into the bag of Wyatt’s truck.
Quinton laughed again, pointing out the jeep in the spot next to them, “Yeah, it’s dead, I’m pretty sure it’s the battery, I may have left my light on… all week.”

CHAPTER 4:
Tumblr media
Tag(s): fluff, story building, daily life, wholesome moments
Another new day came, and the rays of sunlight gradually crept into every corner they could. Even though he wasn't bothered by the alarm, Rehn still woke up relatively early, stretched his arms to pick up the phone, and the time displayed was 05:50. Rehn himself was surprised by this. Looking to the side, Rehn smiled and stroked the hair of the girl he loved. Her lips were somewhat pursed for sleeping sideways, making Rehn always feel like she was a little child. Getting out of bed, Rehn pulled the blanket over Rosé before heading to the kitchen to conduct his morning ritual.
All 6 members of Unity loved the scent and bitter taste of coffee, and 3 of them had a certain level of passion for this drink, so on the long marble kitchen countertop placed several tools and machines for coffee making such as a moka pot, an espresso machine, a manual espresso maker, and Rehn's personal favorite, the phin filter, his homeland signature coffee brewing tool.
Rehn put the coffee in the filter and poured in a little bit of boiling water just enough for the coffee to bloom, expand, and set, then added another round of it. Feeling craving for a breakfast dish with eggs, Rehn decided to make scrambled eggs, served with tater tots made from last night's grated potatoes.
It was 6:50 a.m., and Rehn heard something coming from upstairs, where the door to the room at the end of the hallway opened and closed. Rehn immediately knew that Rosé was awake. Walking towards her boyfriend, Rosé instantly hugged him.
“Jesus Christ, don't bite me! Go over there and clean your mouth, babe.” - Rehn
“Okayyyy.” - Rosé dragged her feet lazily toward the sink
“I wonder what dish you would like to eat?” - Rehn
“A bowl of pho with a glass of iced milk coffee, honey.” - Rosé
“Sorry, babe. Remember? Drink less caffeinated drinks, babe, or I can make you a glass of fruit punch.” - Rehn
“Oh okay.” - Rosé
While waiting for her boyfriend to make breakfast, Rosé kept staring at Rehn with her eyes half open while sitting at the kitchen island.
“Don't stare at me like that, I can't concentrate, hahaha.” - Rehn burst out laughing when he heard Rosé said
“How did you know that? Oh, and the last few times too.” - Rosé
“Rosie, babe, it's been two months since we went on a date night, guess where I'll take you to eat tonight.” - Rehn
“Hmmm, is it the bulgogi restaurant where we took your parents to?” - Rosé
“Okay, it's decided, thank you.” - Rehn
“Huhhh? What was that? Confused unga.” - Rosé
“Learning from my own experience every time I ask you where to eat, I finally came to a conclusion that I'll just let you decide, it'll be quicker.” - Rehn
About an hour later, Ivy and Damian arrived at the kitchen area.
“Seriously, do you intend to live here rent-free?” - Ivy
“You've only been here three days but you've almost demolished all the food in our refrigerator, Chaeyoung noona. Every damn time we suffer from food shortages, it is mainly because of you.” - Damian
“Why is everyone in this house so mean to me? Okay, if that's the case then I'll call your parents so they can lecture you again, honey." - Rosé
“Da fuq? They called you that and now I'm at fault. What in the f*cking logic is this?” - Rehn
“That's because you're the leader of the group and also considered the head of the family, so you better be prepared for your parents to give you another whoop in your pretty bum, honey. By the way, I do like your butt.” - Rosé winked
“Eww, gross, go show your feelings elsewhere, go back to your room.” - Ivy and Damian
A few minutes passed, and the four people's conversation gradually became more lively. Due to the loudness of the conversation, and the volume of the chat still showed no signs of decreasing, it woke up the remaining three members of Unity and they undeniably displayed signs of dissatisfaction.
“Why is it so noisy? I was having a great sleep!” - Sirene
“Oh, you're not leaving yet, unnie, why are you here for so long?” - Yuki
“Watch your mouth, you little shit … There, your coffee.” - Ivy
“Thank you.”- Baekgi
“So, what have you been talking about just now? I vaguely heard you guys say something about food.” - Sirene
“Well, I was going to invite my girls to come here for a feast or we could go to a restaurant this weekend, it's been a while since our two groups went out together.” - Rosé
“So noona, what are we going to eat?” - Baekgi
“It could be seafood or grilled food, I'm still wondering which one to choose.” - Rosé
“Or we can go eat yakitori, I know a place.” - Rehn
“Ah, I remember that restaurant.” - Ivy
“By the way, unnie, how was the checkup?” - Yuki
“It was good, the doctor just told me to pay attention to my diet and get more rest.” - Rosé
While Rosé was chatting with the four members of Unity, Rehn stood at the side and smiled, watching his girlfriend have fun and relaxing moments after a long period of tiring work, which was nothing good for Rosé's health, especially for her current physical and mental condition. Noticing that her younger brother was dumbfounded looking at someone she knew, Ivy nudged his shoulder slightly, she smiled proudly at Rehn.
“It was a bit risky, little brother, but you managed to pull it off, such a man you are.” - Ivy
“I just did everything I could, we didn't even plan for it, even if we did it would have been much later in our lives. Thank you for backing me up, sis!” - Rehn
“When you told me the news, I was so worried, but then I remembered that you spent most of your childhood in America with the guys from the hood, you even beat them at their own game, so I was relieved, glad that I was right.” - Ivy
It was a quarter to eleven, a black coupé was speeding towards a designated place, the car took one last turn and then drove straight into the parking lot. The suicide doors opened and stepped out of the car were Rehn and Rosé. The two then held hands and walked into the elevator to go to Rosé's apartment which she shared with Lisa. Walking up to the door, Rosé had to do what she always found a bit annoying which was unlock it and it had two layers of security.
“Lisa, I brought food home.” - Rosé
“Oh, you're back. Ah, oppa, hiiii. You go girl, you have a boyfriend so there is no need to care about your sisters, right? Well, it is obvious when you are in love. Back then, she always said "Single life is so fun, it's just the four of us.", but now she mercilessly pushes us aside." - Lisa
“Honey, let's go, leave her be.” - Rosé
“No no no, I'm sorry, it was just a joke, did you have to take it the hard way.” - Lisa
“I've always been curious why you're always single but now I know, it seems like your communication skills are not on par with your dancing ones, Lisa.” - Rosé
“Ouch, sis, that's hurt. Oppa, did you hear what your girlfriend said? Being in a relationship with oppa, your sarcasm is getting better and better.” - Lisa
“Okay, stop teasing each other. No offense, Lily, you are good with your words, you have a sexy brain and a great sense of humor, but you often carry your jokes too far. You have your own beauty, Lily, just continue to nurture your beauty and improve what needs to be improved.” - Rehn
Because Rehn was in the kitchen and was busy arranging the food containers neatly, he didn't know that Lisa's eyes were wide open and surprised by what he said.
“Ah… uhmm… thank you oppa.” - Lisa shyly answered with a blush on her cheeks
“Awww, Hank, sweetie, are you doing good with Aunty Lisa? Come to mommy.” - Rosé
Upon hearing noises in his territory, Hank woke up and had a look around the apartment. Hank heard his mother call his name but decided to do a feint and rushed towards his dad.
“What the???” - Rosé
“Hahahaha, kekeke.” - Lisa and Rehn burst out laughing at the expression on Rosé's face
“Hank, you love your daddy more than me?” - Rosé was in disbelief
Suddenly the doorbell rang, attracting everyone's attention. Looking at the indoor monitor screen, Rosé saw that it was Jisoo so she quickly opened the door for her sister.
“Hi unnie.” - Rosé
“Oh, you're back, I thought you were still at oppa's place.” Jisoo
“Oh oppa, hiiiii, do you need any help?” Jisoo was in a great mood today and it was even better when she saw the jokester of Unity.
“Hi Chichi, ah, thank you but I'm okay. We brought you girls’ favorite dishes.” - Rehn
“Thanks, oppa!” - Jisoo
“Well, that's a bummer.” - Lisa
“What is it?” - Rosé
“Jennie just finished her pottery class but couldn't find a cab due to the traffic jam.” - Lisa
“Was it the pottery class you girls told us when our two groups went to the pizza place near it?” - Rehn
“Yeah yeah, that’s the one, oppa.” Lisa
“Honey, can you go pick her up? How long will it take, 20 minutes?” Rosé
“Are you underestimating my driving skills, you amateur?” - Rehn asked in a playful tone while doing the pointing pose of Jotaro
“Pfftttt, hahaha, what the heck, oppa?” The girls laughed
“Hahaha, stop fooling around, you comedian.” - Rosé
“Okay, I’ll be right back.” - Rehn
Standing on the sidewalk watching countless vehicles jostling and competing to move forward, Jennie felt unlucky to have chosen today to go to the pottery class. KakaoTalk's notification bell rang, it was a message from Rosé telling Jennie that Rehn was on his way to pick her up. The displayed time showed that Rosé's message was sent 10 minutes ago. Before Jennie could reply, she heard someone calling.
“Yen-ah. Hop in.” - Rehn
Jennie did not respond but just smiled exposing her mandu cheeks and hopped in the car.
“Pfftt, heeheehee, oppa, what’s up with your hair? It's a mess.” - Jennie
“Well, apparently, Jisoo can handle the spiciness better than my jokes, and because of that, she gave me one hell of a smash.” - Rehn
“Hahahaha, wait, she “smashed” you?” - Jennie teasingly asked
“Yeah, ……, wait, no, not that kind of smash.” - Rehn tried to save his life after realizing what he just said
“Ohhh, someone doesn’t think before they talk, yet you dared to tell me to mind my words, hmmm.” - Jennie
“Ok, thanks for reminding me, and let me clarify, Jisoo only gave me a few blows to the head.” - Rehn
“Huhh? She gave you head? Hahahaha.” - Jennie
“Wait, fuck, NO, Kim fucking Jennie, you seem to love wordplay, huh? What got into you today?” - Rehn
“Hahahaha.” - Jennie
Rehn couldn’t help but laugh with Jennie at his own mistakes. The jokester was in disbelief that Jennie had given him a taste of his own medicine. Rehn wasn’t even mad but joyful at Jennie’s friendly retaliation, he was relieved that Jennie was back to her happy self after all the drama.
“You dare use my own spells against me, Potter?” Rehn
“Hahaha, and also, oppa, I know you have a good sense of fashion but THESE?!!” - Jennie
“You are specialized in roasted foods, right, because you are doing a very good job at roasting me.” - Rehn
I was kinda out of words to describe the sound of Jennie’s laugh at this point so the best I could come up with was Jennie laughed out loud and then wheezed as she started to slide out of her seat.
“Whoa whoa whoa, girl, get a hold of yourself.” - Rehn
“One thing for sure is you’re starting to adopt some of mine antics.” - Rehn
“I think I’m kinda becoming more like you, oppa.” - Jennie smilingly said
“Yeah, you’re becoming more like me.” - Rehn
The laughter of the two was gradually replaced by a pause of silence as Rehn needed to concentrate to weave through the traffic. Noticing that they were no longer caught in a traffic jam, Jennie asked.
“Oppa, are you free tonight?” - Jennie
“Oh, sorry Yen, Imma take Rosé out for a date tonight.” - Rehn
“Oh, you don’t have to be sorry, oppa. It’s just that our group is about to get back to work so I was kinda hoping to hang out with you … anddd your group.” - Jennie breathed a sigh of relief
“Well, no need to worry about that, we still have many opportunities, you just need to set the date.” - Rehn assured her
“Okay, oppa.” - Jennie
Returning to the apartment she shared with Jisoo, Jennie left her belongings there and accompanied Rehn to the apartment of Lisa and Rosé which was right next to theirs.
"Hi, Girls." - Jennie
"Wow, that was fast, oppa." - Lisa
"Next time, when we need to order deliver, I'll call you, oppa" Jisoo
"Then I'll make sure to charge you triple." Rehn
“Honey, come, have some lunch. Jennie unnie, here’s the plate, come on, dig in, oppa made a lot. ” - Rosé
After the lunch ended, Lisa and Jisoo went to the room leaving a poor Jennie to clean the table while Rosé and Rehn had to wash the dishes. Jennie looked towards the two of them and then shifted her eyes to Rehn.
"Wish I could have more opportunities like you said, oppa." - Jennie thought to herself
