I don’t know if you saw this but a few weeks ago someone said that this season was a mix of all the wlw skamverse couples storyline. Like coming out, addiction and so on and they said that bobbie was a criminal like rym in skam 11 where she (rym) knocked someone unconscious and they probably didn’t know how much they were right when they said that.

But now it makes me wonder if the writers of this season didn’t actually put all the issues wlw character had in the skamverse and decided to put it randomly in their seasons

Honestly, I can see that, like I've been saying that the writers probably watched druck s6 and took notes, and just before I said that the writers probably watched skam france s6 and 9 and decided to switch it up, but I i didnt know that someone knocked someone else over in skam france aswell lmao

List 10 Comfort Shows

Tagged by @thegalwhorants! Thx for the tag! (I think someone else might’ve tagged me as well a while back, but I’ve been going back through my mentions and I can’t find it…if that’s you, I’m sorry!) A lot of these are purely for sentimental value. They all have a special place in my heart.

1. Outlander - It’s the vibe of this for me. The beautiful Scottish highlands, the music, the characters. Claire is my spirit animal.

2. The Eclipse - *Everyone pretends to be shocked* …not much to say except I love it. FK = comfort.

3. Young Royals - I don’t know what to say about this except it’s such a sad, heartfelt story told in a short amount of time.

4. Agents of Shield - I watched all of this as it was airing with my sister and it just feels very close to my heart.

5. Alice in Borderland - Idk if I’d call this a comfort show exactly, but I love it so much that I couldn’t not include it.

6. Bad Buddy - This technically wasn’t my first BL, but it’s the first show that really got me into BL, specifically GMMTV’s content. Also, that rooftop kiss had me bawling for days. They make my heart so happy.

7. SKAM (all versions, but specifically France) - I can’t explain why, this show just had such a hold on me.

8. The Office - Yes, I know this is a very basic answer. It’s funny, ok?? Lol. (When it comes to comedy, I am also a big New Girl fan @thegalwhorants!)

9. Not Me - I love Gun sm. Also, Yok? I’m in love. Anything with First is comforting tbh.

10. Stranger Things - Specifically the first season. I was just OBSESSED with the vibe back when I first watched it. I probably watched it 10 times. Also a very basic answer, I know.

I know this isn’t what this game is about, but I want to throw out a most-anticipated show, because I’m getting really hyped about it and it just screams nostalgia/comfort—Percy Jackson. I just can’t help but bring it up, haha.

Oh I got a spoiler ferrie in my box. Let me go ahead and post everything I have. Also can you believe French river dale is about to grace our screens for season 9 and 10. Like shit is so wild……. When you consider how many other remakes failed and these guys are still going….. frenchies be wild. Also they didn’t drop a trailer? I hope the main is a guy. They haven’t done a male season in forever and like change it up already. I would dig a male bi storyline or something that touches on alcohol abuse since that’s was Hugo’s main reasoning behind what he did. Like giving us a juxtaposition.

What Did I Watch: #22

Nothing.

Kidding.

I watched too many western series. Thanks to Skam and all of its remakes. I decided to just not caring about kdramas, cdramas and thai dramas. New challenge and new territory, that's all I need. But obviously we can't just go away from the things that shaped us. Below I've listed all the series that I watched on the past weeks.

Skam France

I kinda wish to watch all of the Skam's remakes that is out there but it was hard. Like I struggled a lot with using google drive and so on just to download the episode. I had to save it in my cloud drive for re-watch purpose. But still, it was too damn inconvenient for someone that used to this kind of stuff back when I was a little bit younger. Right now, I just hope the show that I want to watch available in any streaming services.

Yet, there's a reward for every effort that we put. Those shows are freaking good. I could biased because I love the original one. But nope. I legit thinking Skam France shot in film camera because it was flawless. And the acting in wtFock made me in awe. These kids were first-timers and still they even better than any teenager actors that I came across before this. Gosh. What a joy just to find a show which trigger you in a good way and taught me in life better than a freaking preacher.

God, I miss Axel.

Eyewitness

I was bored okay. And tumblr gives me this weird algorithm and then I found this little gem. The perfect epitome of 'be gay, do crime'. I feel inclined to have the show more into noir-ish vibe but then, it didn't go there. I want to like it so bad but the camera language was terrible at times. When I look at on who's the director, well it's the least surprising name out there. Ha.

9-1-1: Lone Star

Because it was on a freaking trending topic for days.

Abbott Elementary

Actually this is the first time I finished a whole season of sitcom. And thank god, it was funny enough for me to continue.

Meng Hua Lu

On hold indefinitely. Its feminism point of view felt too unrealistic. Plus, they weren't willingly to go there for the sake of censorship. Fortunately the romance, for the first time, was actually make sense and look at that shot. Beautiful. Stunning. Gorgeous.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Team Connie all the way. We all should just make older siblings union. He deserves all the hugs in the world. I relate to him, me, a 27 years old spinster, relate to a freaking teenage angsty boy. He had a lot of baggage and I couldn't imagine when Susannah really really [redacted] how bad he can be.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

WHAT A FINALE.

Thank God I could live long enough to see this. To see Deborah Chow performed magic on my screen. To look at Hayden Christensen back as Vader, my fucking role model. Yes you read it right. Darth Vader is someone I'm aspire to be. And Ewan McGregor, hands down this is Emmy-nominated performance yall. Come on. COME. ON.

Maybe it was nostalgia or whatever. It was clearly a nostalgia that brought us to our screen, to increase our expectations, and to connect with a certain joy which probably last appeared more than decades ago. It was nostalgia and legacy, whichever it is, evidently set me up into this journey that led to Star Wars. A great reminder I was build like this because of Star Wars. The interest which initiated early by my father. The very first movie that I watched before I knew anything else is A New Hope and that memories engraved deeply in my heart. So, by watching Obi-Wan and absorbed any kind of life values contained in it, felt like a full circle to me. Everything is finally coming back to its own place.

And let's remind people, you can't create someone more tragic than the life of Anakin Skywalker. No one could ever come close to him.

Thoughts on Skam (OG)

After more than a year I finally finished watching the original Skam. Maybe it’s because I watched 5 remakes in a row from prior to it, but I fully admit I checked out of Noora’s season early on. I know the OG is widely considered the best version of Skam, but honestly, I disagree. I wouldn’t even put it in my Top 3.

Season one was okay. It was the basic first season. Those of ya’ll who remember my posts from 2020-2021 know I don’t really care much for the first two seasons of a given Skam (Execept for Austin and NL since those only did the frist two seasons.). This was no different. It is the baseline. I’d need to reatch to get my exact feelings down (I’m not doing that.), but I liked it as much as I can like any version of season one nowadays.

Seasons two through four were done better in the remakes. No version of season two will ever top Skam España‘s season three and no version of Noorhelm will ever surpass  or be as good as Norandro. I just don’t see it happening for me. I spent most of Noora’s season snarking to myself and waiting for it to end. Season three? I enjoyed it more than season two, but Druck did it better. Best I can say it that I like the main couple more than France’s, but that’s a low bar to clear.

Which brings me to season four. Outside of France Skam just can’t seem to do a good Sana season. Season four is honestly France’s best season and if not the best it’s the second best (Though I haven’t seen their 9 and 10 yet.). I remember liking that Druck allowed their Sana to call out the bullshit happening to her, but not much else. OG’s was honestly kind of boring. Sana and Yousef were kind of cute together, but that didn’t amount to much. I’ll give it points for actually focusing on Sana but that’s something to be expected.

Overall though? I’m not sure if it’s because of burnout (Again, I watched NL, España, France, Italia, and Druck over the course of more than a year with little breaks between them.), if I’m just that biased in other version’s favors, or if the OG is overhyped but the OG was a letdown for me. Looking over my previous post this is honestly the most negative I’ve been about Skam. It might honestly be my least favorite version of the 7 I’ve seen.

Next up is WTFOCK. I still have seasons 9-10 of France, 7-8 of Druck, and season 5 of Italia to watch but I’m not really feeling the mood to return to any of them right now. I dunno. I’m kind of exited to get to know a new cast. I’ll start it on Monday and I think I’ll go back to seasonal thoughts for it. See ya’ll next week!

Same!! All this talk about mayla and skam france reopened old wounds and it’s like it’s season 9 finale all over again I’m so mad! Skam France Season 9 Thoughts and Expectations for Season 10

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched a season of Skam France. I went in basically knowing nothing about this season, but I’ll admit I had low expecatations after the previous two. Maybe it’s because I watched it as complete episodes rather than individual clips, but I enjoyed this season more than Seasons 7 and 8 which I watched as clips. I’m starting to think I just can’t handle watching a season live or semi-live. I know it’s not being clips that’s the issue because I watched the entirety of NL and the majority of España as clips just fine.

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this season. While the breakup between Lola and Maya makes sense with the way they explained it (Though it apparently contradicts previous seasons. I probably should’ve rewatched or recapped the last few seasons in hindsight.), both were kind of awful this season. Even though I understand why Lola was upset she was also hostile pretty much all the time. And while I felt for Maya, what the fuck was up with her lashing out at everybody? Especially her basically delcaring that Max and Tiff were doomed to failure. I feel for Lola and Maya, but this season actively ruined thier characters and the ending didn’t really feel earned.

Another thing I noticed this season is that there’s a lot more scenes that aren’t from Maya’s POV. It’s nothing new, but it’s definitely unexpected since it’s mostly regulated to certain Sana seasons dedicating their last few episodes to the rest of the cast. It makes the show feel more cinematic and while I understand why it’s done (It’s to show how worried the rest of the cast are for Maya as well as what they’re up to when she isn’t around.), I’m not sure if I like it or not.

The best thing about this season was definitely Maya’s relationship with La Mif. While she didn’t treat them the best they were all supportive of her and you can clearly tell that they care for each other. Her relationship with Redouane is especially good. I love how supportive he is over her and while it’s not much it is a decent dynamic. I do wish it was more mutally benefictial however. Still, it’s basically the heart of the season. Yeah there’s her relationship with June, but to be honest that’s not one I was invested in and it’s weakened by them not even getting together.

Overall, I liked this season but it’s definitely a mixed bag. It’s better than the previous two but I still like seasons 4 and 6 more. Next season is Anaïs’s and I’m basically going into that with no expectations. She’s Tiff’s (previous?) best friend so I’m expecting Tiff (and Max by extention) to play a decent role there. And considering this season it is a bit worrying that they might damage the Tiff/Max relationship in some way. Of course, that’s assuming they don’t give Jo that role since for the most part Jo’s been the one who’s played a major role after Lola’s season. She wasn’t as important to Season 9 as she was to 7 and 8, but she was still heavily present. While I would hope they’d make Tiff the focus instead due to her relationship with Anaïs, I guess I’ll see.
