What are the most popular materials for kitchen countertops?
Tumblr media
The popularity of materials for kitchen countertops can vary based on factors like durability, aesthetics, and cost. Here are some of the most popular materials:
Granite: Granite countertops offer natural beauty and durability. They come in a variety of colors and patterns, making them suitable for various kitchen designs.
Quartz: Quartz countertops are engineered stone surfaces made from quartz crystals and resin. They are non-porous, easy to maintain, and come in a wide range of colors and patterns.
Marble: Marble countertops provide an elegant and timeless look to the kitchen. However, they are more prone to staining and scratching compared to other materials.
Solid Surface: Solid surface countertops, like Corian, are made from acrylic and polyester materials. They offer seamless installation, and easy maintenance, and come in a variety of colors and designs.
Butcher Block: Butcher block countertops add warmth and a rustic charm to the kitchen. They are made from wood, usually maple, oak, or walnut, and require regular maintenance to prevent damage from moisture and heat.
Concrete: Concrete countertops offer a modern and industrial aesthetic. They are customizable in terms of color and texture but require sealing to prevent staining and cracking.
Stainless Steel: Stainless steel countertops are durable, heat-resistant, and easy to clean, making them ideal for busy kitchens. They provide a sleek and contemporary look.
Each material has its advantages and considerations, so it's essential to assess your needs and preferences before choosing the right countertop material for your kitchen.

The Cost of Marble Countertops vs. Other Countertop Materials
When choosing a countertop material for your kitchen or bathroom, cost is often a major consideration. Marble countertops are a popular choice for their natural beauty and durability, but how does their cost compare to other countertop materials?
Tumblr media
Marble countertops are generally considered to be on the higher end of the cost spectrum when compared to other materials. The cost of marble countertops can vary depending on the type of marble you choose, the size of your kitchen or bathroom, and the edge profile you prefer. On average, the cost of marble countertops can range from $50 to $150 per square foot installed.
Granite countertops are another popular choice for kitchen and bathroom countertops. They are durable and come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. The cost of granite countertops can range from $40 to $100 per square foot installed.
Quartz countertops are a man-made material that is becoming more popular due to its durability and variety of colors and patterns. The cost of quartz countertops can range from $50 to $150 per square foot installed.
Laminate countertops are a budget-friendly option that can cost as little as $10 to $30 per square foot installed. While they are not as durable as other materials, they can be a good choice for a low-traffic area or a rental property.
Solid surface countertops, like Corian, are also a popular option. These countertops are made from a mixture of acrylic and natural materials. They cost around $40 to $100 per square foot installed.
Ultimately, the cost of marble countertops will vary depending on the specific type of marble you choose and the size of your kitchen or bathroom. It's important to consider the long-term cost, rather than just the initial cost, when choosing a countertop material.

CRYSTAL READING: What would bring you good luck?
This is a general reading meant for multiple people. Take only what resonates and leave out the rest.
Feedback is much appreciated ❤️
Book a personal reading for you.
Reading for each group below :
Tumblr media
1. Trolleite group
Tumblr media
There is a contrast of two sides.
blue vs. red
personal vs collective
A hidden fire underneath a calm blue surface.
Wearing or using white and blue objects during travelling, especially long journey, dealing with a large crowd or going to public institutions, religious or spiritual places, the banks etc. would help you navigate the surrounding environment more smoothly.
It could be the colour of the clothes, vehicles, bottle, backpack etc.
Bringing a book and a notebook with you while travelling is also very beneficial.
Going near a large body of water, the ocean, the seashore, fish, and shells will help calm and ground you.
But for your private home, planting lots of flowers, paint the wall in warm pale tones of pink or pale orange, yellow will bring wamrth and vitality.
For harmonious communication, you could use a pink phone or a pink phone case, a pink notebook and pen, and pink accessories.
As I have said above about a hidden fire, intimate connections would stoke a creative fire within you, bring in more inspiration and life force to your projects.
Show a more vulnerable and soft side of yourself to the world and see how that would lead you on an unexpected, lucky journey.
Tumblr media
2. Citrine group
Tumblr media
There is a sense of an overall blessing draping your life. It's soft and jubilant.
You should surround yourself with soft, pastel colours and oceanic motifs.
Having a kaleidoscope and occasionally looking through it can unwind some restrictive thought patterns.
Travelling will bring lots of luck and valuable lessons. Schools and learning are also very important steps.
The more you study broadly but also deeply, the more depth and value you will find in life and in yourself. There is a calling from the depth of the ocean. To go deep, your life is not meant to be spent in a light, breezy, superficial way.
Have an exercise routine, not necessarily something vigorous, but just move your body around, writing or practising something with your hands daily will also assist you in this journey.
A teacher with masculine energy would also help you transform your fundamental way of thinking, building a more solid and vibrant inner core.
I also see that keeping yourself warm and monitoring what you eat closely would bring positive changes to you.
Bright red, orange, soft purple and blue, black would be your lucky colours.
Tumblr media
3. Garnet group
Tumblr media
Some period of wandering by yourself, away from familiar faces and environment, would do wonders to you. Especially when you feel quite lost, confused, or aimless.
Allow yourself to be guided by your intuition. When the urge strikes, just pack your things and go without too many thoughts and concerns.
It would be like a spiritual cleanse.
Things that relate to cleansing would also help you. Soap, salt, something smells of lavenders, lemon, rose, and water.
After some long walks or runs, taking a shower with soap or shampoo of these scent.
Take good care of your hair. Our hair is one of the most visible signs of life growing, of progression. I would usually imagine it as inverted roots of the tree that is our body.
A healthy root system would make a healthy tree.
I'm also see that some objects with cradle-like shapes are quite beneficial for your financial and physical growth. A bowl, a basket, a candy dish, something that can hold others.
The colours to bring you luck are jade green, sky blue, lilac, and dark red.
Tumblr media
4. Rose quartz
Tumblr media
When I saw your spread, I immediately heard the sound of wind chimes. More specifically, a brass wind chimes, the one with no frills, just simple tubes of brass swaying gently in a place with lots of dark trees. The place feels simple, quiet, serious, and solitary.
Hanging some objects like wind chimes, dream catchers, or something light, delicate by the door or windows. Or wearing earrings with that kind of shape would bring good luck to you.
Even more so if it was made by your own hands. I even saw some kind of transparent panel make of glass or acrylic with painting on it, dangling in front of the window, sunlight striking through, making rainbow dance in the room.
Light and sound would affect your energy profoundly.
When things feel unstable, difficulties arise, you could go to places that are old, with lots of history, have big, strong, square structure, or anywhere that has 4 walls surrounding you to feel more grounded.
Number 2,3,4 would show signs of blessing.
Things or beings that come in pair, in groups of three or groups of four.
Consider using things with contrast, a combination of complementary colours ,
dark and rich colours combine with light, soft colours such as green and pink, light blue and brown black, lilac with dark red, orange with cold grey.
Tumblr media
5. Carnelian group
Tumblr media
For this group, it's not really about something physical like a place, an object that could bring you good luck. It's more about words, thoughts, and emotions.
When dealing with others, sometimes not revealing yourself entirely would actually achieve more peace and honesty in that relationship.
You have an intense inner world, you see clearly the hurts, the vulnerability, and the darkness in yourself and others. Your words would have a heavy , serious trigger. It's not easy to always bring that heaviness out into the open because it would create misunderstanding and anger in others.
So, not showing yourself too much, wait and observe, until you and the other person reach a certain understanding of each other.
An outward elusiveness and detachment sometimes would help balance out the inward gravity.
Having a psyche like that would manifest as sensitivity in the physical body such as allergies, so avoid eating too much spicy and hot food or strenuous activities so as not to aggrevate the body further.
A healthy bridge between bodily nourishment and the psyche should be established. Observe how some food would affect you.
The biggest message is to take good care of your health. No amount of blessings is enough if you are not actually healthy to receive them.
For colours, dark earthy and creamy tones would make a nice comfy blanket for you.

Everything about the SR 71 was exciting and new including the windows. During its career, the SR-71 Blackbird gathered intelligence in some of the world’s most hostile environments. The SR-71 was conceived to operate at extreme velocities, altitudes and temperatures: actually, it was the first aircraft constructed with titanium, as the friction caused by air molecules passing over its surface at Mach 2.6 would melt a conventional aluminum frame.
Its engineering was so cutting edge that even the tools to build the SR-71 needed to be designed from scratch.
There are so many interesting facts about the legendary Blackbird.
For instance, the glass of the canopy of the SR-71 cockpit was made of 1.25-inch thick solid quartz. Let’s talk about the windows in the SR-71 and about the severe heat the windshield of the SR-71 would experience at top speeds. Skunk Works Designers ultimately decided that using solid quartz for the windshield was the best way to prevent any blur or window distortion under these conditions,
so they ultrasonically fused the solid quartz to the aircraft’s titanium hull to make the quietest cockpit possible; the estimated temperature of the outside of the cockpit of 600 degrees F.
As reported by The SR-71 Blackbird website, the integrity of the double solid quartz camera window demanded special attention because of the optical distortion caused by the effect of great heat (600 degrees F.) on the outside of the window and a much lower temperature (150 degrees F.) on the inside could keep the cameras from taking usable photographs. Three years and $2 million later, the Corning Glass Works came up with a solution: the window was fused to its metal frame by a novel process using high frequency sound waves. isn’t that amazing? why did they give pearl did
in a single pale rose when steven enters pearls gem for the first time we encounter 'surface pearl'
her sole function is to alphabetize all of pearl's possessions in her gem, keeping them in order for easy access. her organizing system even goes into specifics (ex; the 'oh, it's a cellular phone!' after she cannot find her phone under 'p')
after she cant find the phone under 'c' she begins to panic, saying;
Tumblr media
which prompts steven to say, "there's more of you in here?" she responds with;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is why i called her 'surface pearl'. she is the main (and presumably only) functioning variation of pearl, thus granting her 'surface'. using her convenient organization abilities she has put the other pearls in their own respective areas in organized layers, these layers being various traumatic instances dating further and further back, each layer likely revolving around an era rather that those specific events alone.
surface pearl doesn't just organize things, she compartmentalizes them. she is the one actively compartmentalizing pearl's trauma. she has 'made sure' the other pearls cannot reach surface because that would inconvenience the real pearl, the others have been compartmentalized out of immediate reach.
when steven asks to see the other pearls (trying to find pearl's phone) surface tries to discourage him from doing this, the other pearls and the trauma they carry is very intentionally put away.
after encountering surface pearl we meet a distressed 90s pearl sobbing on the beach. (90s pearl doesnt say/do anything of great interest but she does have an obvious tendency for bluntness [?], vulnerability, and lost things.)
then, after 90s we encounter a battlefield pearl. battlefield is VERY zoned out, dissociated even. she speaks in a monotonous way and is distant in her actions. her speech is disoriented, notable in the line, "there was a bright light and everyone was... why did i do it?". battlefield is confused and lost, she does and doesnt understand at the same time. by 'doesn't understand' i mean that while she may have like. a comprehensive understand of the situation she is disoriented as a result of the events around her and she lacks basic understanding as a result of dissociative confusion. battlefield is weary, but not tired, confused, but not dumb.
after battlefield we meet 'rose'. even in the couple seconds before 'rose' is on screen there is wailing and whining in the background. there are the flowers pink used to fake her shards. 'rose' is silently sobbing throughout this entire clip, she is emotional distress. the landscape is nonsensical, it isnt solid and only a few parts seem tanglible; the flowers, the shards, the palanquin, and where 'rose' stands. unlike all the other pearls, 'rose' doesnt talk. she can't, "no one can ever find out we did this." 'rose' cannot speak, she had just been ordered by her diamond not to, she cannot risk a gem on the battlefield hearing her and discovering she is not really rose quartz. 'rose' has to be quiet, and of all the pearls she seems to understand steven the fastest, battlefield coming in second.
finally, we encounter the last pearl inside pearl's pearl (and so on). this pearl is unique because she is reliving a memory. once pink leaves the palanquin she drops the act and turns to steven, no longer playing a role. this is presumably this pearl's entire existence. reliving this memory before a moment so utterly traumatizing that pearl could not shapeshift for centuries. she knows that she's just replaying this memory, and she executes it very well. this pearl is the most collected of all the others (yes, even surface) as she is still somewhat stable here. sure, she's been fighting battles under the diamonds noses but the worst hasn't come. this pearl is still functional and as healthy as pearl can be. when she hands steven the phone shes calm, and she's smiling. she's happy in that moment. and then, she resumes her act and shapeshifts into rose to continue the memory. (i'll be calling this pearl 'servitude')
after servitude sends steven back through the other pearl's gems the memories mainly associated with each pearls' layers flash by, stringing together. once steven is out of pearl's gem we see that pearl (real pearl) isnt frantic or anxious like surface, she isnt distressed like 90s, she's not dissociated like battlefield, she's no longer bound to silence like 'rose' is, but she isn't happy like servitude. she's relieved, one thing none of her other pearls are. even if it's a solemn moment she is relieved. she's come clean about something, which was probably a lot of pressure off her system.
ANYWHO tjis was supposed to literally be a one liner shitpost saying "why did they give pearl did" but as a system myself (ourself?) i actually really wanted to explain. this is a big long tangent with no planning at all, i just like thinking of pearl as a system:•]
to tie everything up i would actually say that pearl has osdd-1a, noted by its lack of the distinct alters found in did, with osdd-1a alters all commonly sharing a core identity (ex; variations of the same self) ^_^
do with this what you will! hope you enjoyed ♡

Napoleon's Marshals and their Birthstones Part 1
This is a three-part series where I'll be listing the birthstones of all 26 marshals. Part one will cover months January-April, the next post will cover March-August and the last post will cover the remaining 4 months. I'll mainly be focusing on the gemstone's physical and chemical properties as well as writing "short" facts about each gemstone. Before starting the list, I'll provide the definitions of some terms that will be used through the post.
_________________________________________________
Mineral: A naturally occurring solid which contains a crystalline structure that is made up of a single native element or multiple chemical compounds.
Mohs Scale: A scale system used to measure the scratch resistance of a mineral ranging from 1 (softest) to 10 (hardest). This is done by scratching a mineral with another mineral or with another object like a penny or nail.
Cleavage: The way in which a mineral breaks along the softest plane. Classification of a cleavage ranges from perfect, good, poor, indistinct, to none. A mineral can have a basal, prismatic, cubic, rhomboherdal, octahedral, or dodecahedral cleavage.
Fracture: The texture or shape of a mineral's surface. Some types of fractures are described as conchoidal (ripples), earthy (resembles broken soil), hackly (jagged fractures), uneven, and splintery (resembles splinters).
Luster: The way which light reflects off of a mineral. Minerals can have vitreous (glassy), dull (earthy), adamantine (shiny), greasy, silky, metallic, non-metallic, pearly, resinous, or waxy lusters.
Streak: The color of the powder left behind by a mineral when it is scratched on a piece of unglazed porcelain. The color of the powder is usually different from the mineral's color.
Now, onto the list!!
-------------------------------------------------------------
Garnet (January)
Marshals-Ney and Bernadotte
Type: Mineral
Group: Silicate (SiO₄)₃
Color: red, orange, pink, green, yellow blue (rare)
Cleavage: Indistict
Fracture: Conchoidal to uneven
Mohs Scale: 6.5-7.5
Luster: Vitreous
Streak: White
Fun Fact: Garnet is its own family that contains six main species divided into two groups: pyrope, almandine, and spessartine species, which are part of the aluminum group (aluminum is present in its structure). Colors in the Aluminum group range from red to pink; these are the garnet species people think of when looking for jewelry. When pyrope is mixed with almandine, it creates rhodolite, and when mixed with spessartine, it creates malaya. Grossular, uvarovite, and andradite species are part of the calcium group (Calcium is present in structure) and are composed of green to yellow garnet. Uvarovite is the rarest of the calcium group because it grows in small chunks, making it hard to work with when making it into a gemstone.
Amethyst (February)
Marshals- Mortier
Type: Mineral
Group: Silicate (SiO₂)
Color: Purple to Violet
Cleavage: Indistict to none
Fracture: Conchoidal
Mohs Scale: 7
Luster: Vitreous
Streak: White
Fun Fact: Amethyst is part of the quartz family and it used to be part of the cardinal or most valuable gemstones, along with diamonds, rubies, and sapphires, because it was available in small amounts. Its value dropped after large deposits were discovered in Brazil during the 18th century, making it one of the more affordable gemstones.
Aquamarine (March)
Marshals- Brune, Murat, Soult, Suchet
Type: Mineral
Group: Beryl (Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈)
Color: Pale blue, light green, bluish-green, sometimes yellow
Cleavage: Indisticnt to none
Fracture: Conchoidal to uneven
Mohs Scale: 7.5-8
Luster: Vitreous
Streak: White
Fun Fact: Aquamarine got its name because its color resembles the sea. It contains small traces of iron, which (depending on the oxidation state) can change its bluish color to green or yellow. These oxidation states are ferrous iron, which gives Aquamarine its blue color, and ferric iron, which gives it a greenish/yellowish color. Heating the mineral removes the greenish color to restore its blue color[1]. Aquamarine also has weak to moderate flourescent properties under UV light [2].
Diamond (April)
Marshals- Jourdan, Lannes, Oudinot, and Saint-Cyr
Type: Mineral
Group: Native mineral (Carbon (C))
Color: Yellow, brown, gray, white, colorless,
Cleavage: Octahedral, Perfect on all sides
Fracture: Uneven
Mohs Scale: 10
Luster: Adamantine
Steak: Colorless
Fun Facts: Diamonds are formed within the Earth's mantle when carbon-rich materials or carbon dioxide are subjected to extreme temperatures and pressure. It reaches the surface via volcanic eruption and gets trapped inside igneous rocks after the magma cools off. The formation of diamonds takes thousands of years, contributing to their high value [3]. Diamonds seen as potential gemstones have little to no impurities or foreign objects within their structure. In contrast, diamonds with high impurities, irregular shapes, and defects are used in commercial industries due to their durability and hardness. Diamonds are the hardest minerals, and are very difficult to scratch or break, but it's not impossible to do so. They also has a high dispersion of white light that creates a rainbow-like effects, also known as 'fire.[4]'

FOSSIL WOOD
Araucarioxylon arizonicum
225 million years
Arizona, USA
This fossil wood example from the southwestern US state of Arizona is of astonishing beauty. In 1988 the Arizona state legislature designated the petrified wood of Araucarioxylon arizonicum, a prehistoric conifer, as an Arizona state fossil. Arizona is famous for its vast petrified forest, part of which lies within the bounds of the Petrified Forest National Park.
During the Late Triassic period, approximately 225 million years ago, Northern Arizona had a tropical climate that supported a vast forest of conifer trees. The majority of the trees were of the species Araucarioxylon arizonicum, which grew up to 200 feet (61 m) tall with a trunk up to 5 feet (1.5 m) thick. It likely would have resembled a modern pine tree. Occasionally fallen trees would become buried in sediment and volcanic ash. Due to its rapid burial and the lack of oxygen, the wood did not decay as it would if it had remained on the surface. Silica and other minerals present in the ground water seeped into the porous wood over many years. This caused the cellular structure of the wood to become crystallised and turned it into a fossil.
The rainbow coloration with vibrant hues of reds, yellows and purples is typical for petrified fossils from Arizona. It is made up of almost solid quartz, like a giant crystal, and sparkles in the sunlight as if it were covered with glitter. The rainbow colours are produced by impurities in the quartz, such as iron, arbon or manganese. Purple amethyst, yellow citrine, clear quartz and smoky quartz have formed here into a wonderful piece of natural art.

International Rock Day
The Rock or stone is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids. For example, the common rock granite is a combination of the quartz, feldspar and biotite minerals. The Earth’s outer solid layer, the lithosphere, is made of rock. Rocks have been used by mankind throughout history. From the Stone Age, rocks have been used for tools. The minerals and metals found in rocks have been essential to human civilization.
Learn about International Rock Day
International Rock Day has been created so that people all around the world can learn more about rocks. It’s not about rock and roll music; it’s all about the stone variety! After all, rocks play a big role in the environment, and they have been used by humans for many purposes over the years.
Three major groups of rocks are defined: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. The scientific study of rocks is called petrology, which is an essential component of geology. At a granular level, rocks are composed of grains of minerals, which, in turn, are homogeneous solids formed from a chemical compound that is arranged in an orderly manner.
The aggregate minerals forming the rock are held together by chemical bonds. The types and abundance of minerals in a rock are determined by the manner in which the rock was formed. Many rocks contain silica (SiO2); a compound of silicon and oxygen that forms 74.3% of the Earth’s crust. This material forms crystals with other compounds in the rock. The proportion of silica in rocks and minerals is a major factor in determining their name and properties.
History of International Rock Day
International Rock Day is a day for celebrating this substance, which has been critical to the survival of mankind. Throughout history, rocks have been used. Since the Stone Age, rocks have been important for use as weapons and tools. The metals and minerals that have been found in rocks are critical to human civilization.
Rocks are geologically classified according to characteristics such as mineral and chemical composition, permeability, the texture of the constituent particles, and particle size. These physical properties are the end result of the processes that formed the rocks. Over the course of time, rocks can transform from one type into another, as described by the geological model called the rock cycle.
These events produce three general classes of rock: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. The three classes of rocks are subdivided into many groups. However, there are no hard and fast boundaries between allied rocks. By increase or decrease in the proportions of their constituent minerals they pass by every gradation into one another, the distinctive structures also of one kind of rock may often be traced gradually merging into those of another.
Hence the definitions adopted in establishing rock nomenclature merely correspond to more or less arbitrary selected points in a continuously graduated series.
How to celebrate International Rock Day
There are a number of different ways that you can celebrate International Rock Day. One of the options is to do a bit of research on the different types of rocks that are available across the globe, as well as the different uses for these rocks. You can share this knowledge with your friends and family. Why not go on a rock hunt together? You can collect different types of rocks and learn about them. It is always fun to spend your time doing something different with the ones that you love.
Another way to celebrate International Rock Day is to enjoy an art project involving rocks. The best rocks for painting are those that can fit into the palm of your hand. The best surfaces for images and designs are rocks that have a flat surface and are nice and smooth.
You should also wash the surface of the rock and get rid of all of the dirt before you begin to paint. You will also find that acrylic paint works the best. You can use a variety of different types of brushes, depending on the sort of techniques that you want to attempt. When you are finished, seal the design. You can experiment with new colors and effects, creating different themes of rocks and exciting designs.
You can also spend some time learning about rocks on International Rock Day. After all, there is so much information about their formation uses, and much more. We will end this post with some fascinating facts to help you get started…
Some minerals and rocks appear so unusual that legends and myths have sprung up about them. For example, it was believed that snakestones were the remains of coiled snakes that had turned into stones.
Artists have used the colors inside some minerals and rocks for many years. For instance, cinnabar, which is the powder of a mineral rock, was used for art in the Middle Ages because of its brilliant red color.
Meteorites are pieces of metal or rock that hit the earth. Some have broken off to create asteroids, which are big rock chunks that orbit the sun in between Jupiter and Mars. If a big meteorite hits the Earth, it can result in a crater, which can change the surroundings of where it lands.

part 8
It was remarkably easy to find the kingdom in the sky once he started flying. Joel almost felt as if he was drawn to it. And when he touched down on the floating tiles of the city, giant stately quartz buildings all around, he had to admit it was a beautiful city. The impostor Joel was also a good builder, it seemed.
This was also the moment Joel remembered that he could never actually see the other Joel, so finding and confronting him might prove difficult.
But he wasn't about to let that stop him. He might still learn something just wandering around the empire. So he walked on, hopping from floating tile to floating tile, passing many buildings, as well as plants floating in the sky, and other things. He noticed a child-sized armor stand set up in front of a purple-roofed house, wearing a similarly coloured shirt. It was a strange sight, for obvious reasons, and something about the scene that Joel couldn't quite place. What's the point of making child-sized armor stands in the first place?
Eventually Joel came up onto a platform with a fountain in it's center, clear water flowing freely from the top. There was something important about this fountain, he could tell. He walked up to it, then looked down into the surface of the water. He could see his own reflection crystal clear, despite the rippling of the water.
He also saw a second reflection, next to his own.
The other Joel had the exact same face as him, yet looked very different. His skin was different, flesh instead of clay. He had a solid beard, and, if the fountain's perspective wasn't tricking him, seemed to tower over Joel. He would've looked quite handsome if it wasn't for the ridiculous toga he was wearing.
The reflection's lips moved, and Joel heard its voice- his own voice- inside his head. “What are you doing here?” it asked.
“Finding out what the deal is, here. Why you're pretending to be me.” Joel replied, although he was less convinced now that the figure in the reflection was unrelated to him.
“Me, pretending? I'm not pretending. I'm the real deal.” The reflection flicked his head, waving a lock of hair out of his face. “The tall, handsome, amazing god of Lore. You're jealous, aren't you?”
“Absolutely not.” Was being tall all he cared about? “Jimmy hates you, you know that?”
“Mhm. And I hate him too.”
Joel didn't believe that for a second. “No you don't. He's your best friend.”
“Nope. I hate him. It's lore.” He didn't sound like he believed it; more like it was a rehearsed line.
“It's lore? What kind of an excuse is that?” Joel was getting very annoyed with this guy already. Was he this insufferable to talk to as well? “Lore is a made up thing. That's nonsense!”
The reflection exclaimed in anger. “Oh, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about,” the reflection responded. “Here, I can show you what Lore is. Take my hand.”
Then the reflection leaned down and reached its hand down, which is to say up, towards the surface of the fountain's water. Joel almost took it, but hesitated just before his own hand reached the water. What am I doing? This guy's clearly insane. Now that his head was closer to the water, Joel could see something crazed in the reflection's eyes. Not to mention, he'd made a promise to Jimmy, and this seemed a lot like compromising with the impostor. So his hand stayed hovering above the water.
“Surely if you're the 'god' of 'lore', you can just... change the lore, to not hate Jimmy anymore.” Joel shrugged. “Not much of a god otherwise, are you?”
The expression on the reflection's face turned sour, but his hand stayed reached out. “You don't understand. It doesn't work like that.”
“Well then explain how it does work!” Joel shouted, slamming his hand onto the side of the fountain. In doing so, his fingertips skimmed the surface of the water.
The reflection's eyes followed Joel's hand, and then a large hand emerged out of the water and grabbed Joel's wrist. “OI!” he shouted, “Let go of me!” He tried to pry his hand loose, but to no avail; the giant hand was stronger than his.
“You can't just 'explain' Lore, little man.” The escaping reflection said, a crazed grin contorting his face. “Let. Me. Show. You.”
And then Joel was pulled into the water.

Living Glass Lore Headcanons
Living Glass Headcanon Lores:
How does Living Glass work exactly? It's based off normal glass, though Resh'an modifies its density with his alchemy, and by altering its chemical structure some, allows it to enter a state which ensures it has some fluidity. The magic holding it together is derived from the will and the life-force of the being encased in the glass - essentially, as long as the entity within possesses strong enough will, it "powers" the glass, keeps it alive, and allows the being possessing it to use it as a vessel. Additionally, such shifting density means that the Living Glass is extremely durable and absorbs shock easily - though one can still be wounded through the glass, hence how B'st can be hurt and KO'd in battle. Living Glass itself is composed of similar silicate materials as normal glass, though its sheen and color is taken from quartz derivates. Resh'an likely imagined one could create different colors in it by using crystal impurities found in common gemstones (like the chromium + vanadium that makes emeralds green), and the plain glass has a green tinge like sea glass. However, to make it "living", the Glass contains crystal filaments, akin to the striations found in Lemurian Quartzes, though these are actual nervelike filaments of enchanted metal, preferably of silver-tungsten alloy, which carry the magic and electric signals that allow for one to really control and manipulate the form of the Glass. These metallic filaments also are what allows the being to feel with the Glass, as the magic surrounding the glass transforms outward stimuli to electrical impulse, and the metal filaments carry this similarly to the way nerves in the human body do with action potential. These filaments are so fine that they aren't visible to the naked eye.
The density I mentioned earlier because of Reshy's reeeeaaaaally complex magic that I won't go into because magic? It can be somewhat counteracted by temperature. B'st likely feels sluggish and fatigue in the cold because the Living Glass gets stiffer and solid (due to molecular shenanigans) - and he likely feels more frisky and active in the heat because the Glass gets more liquid and motile (more molecular shenanigans).
Living glass, obviously, can feel. B'st is able to move the stuff around and manipulate his body, and he can feel pretty well through it. What sensations can he feel? Well, temperature I imagine. Pain, too, but that's a little tough to induce in Glass Golem - he also seems impervious to most damage, as in B'st sprites we see that he does not crack. He was also able to take a hit from the Fleshmancer in Garl's place, and recover fine, so I'd imagine it takes a lot to cause B'st much pain. He can feel other feelings like pleasure and all manner of textures on the glass, just the way skin feels texture. Perhaps heat can make the Living Glass more sensitive, and if B'st chooses to prime the Glass, alter its structure some to try and concentrate the little nervelike fibers that allow him to control it - he can feel sensations more intensely. This makes the sensitive Glass good when dealing with dexterous jobs that require a lot of precision.
What does Living Glass feel like to touch? Probably feels like normal glass, but less stiff and definitely more pliant. Smooth in texture, and unless B'st is hurt or feeling bad, there'd be no cracks or surface roughness. Ultimately, it probably feels a tad like putty or molding clay, but.. more glassy? It's a weird feeling to imagine, as it's hard to imagine handling glass that isn't at risk of shattering with a distictive stiff-sharpness. Also, I imagine that if there isn't a soul inside the Glass, it turns into a sort of.. dry, silky powder, similar to a fine sand or igneous stone dust.
(Deep breath) Okay, there we are with all my ideas about how the Living Glass works! It's not really gone into during the game, so I used my brainpower to make an entire insane rambling about it :) It's a million words long and congrats if you make it to the bottom!
