okay im sorry but Hermie is ABSOLUTELY faking his crushes on Scary and Link. he is a goddamn theater kid which means he needs attention more than anything in the world, and that desire more often than not centers around Normal (ESPECIALLY considering "i like you too," which is about attention regardless of whether or not he was lying). literally hes doing the queer high school equivalent of pulling a girl's pigtails at recess by telling Normal about his "crushes" so that Normal will get upset and pay more attention to him. its the same tactic he used with the mascot costume all over again

guy going insane trying to place sophomore slump during a specific time period of canon because we know scary was writing lyrics during the two week timeskip of spider-boyz: homecoming and so initially I assumed it was recorded in the two month timeskip of stand and delivery bc in the birthday message link’s voice hasn’t dropped yet, BUT that doesn’t make sense bc hermie is in the birthday message and he should’ve been guarding the door during that time. Very important to me bc if it was recorded during that two month period, then that means Scary’s birthday was during that two month period which is utterly ridiculous and hilarious that she spent it watching anime with her divorcee vice principal
