Golden State Warriors General Manager Bob Myers Steps Down After 12 Years

The Golden State Warriors' GM, Bob Myers, is resigning from his position, according to the team's announcement on Tuesday. Myers played a significant role in transforming the Warriors into one of the NBA's most dominant and exciting teams, securing four NBA titles and making six appearances in the Finals, five of which were in consecutive years. They won three more championships with the core players of Curry, Thompson, Green, and Kerr kept intact, and additional assisting players were recruited. Kevon Looney, Jordan Pool, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Wiggins, Kevin Durant, and DeMarcus Cousins all joined the team through the draft, trades, or free agency. Myers was recognized for his role in building the championship-winning squad and named the NBA's Executive of the Year twice. The Warriors' owner, Joe Lacob, informed reporters that the team has not yet pinpointed a successor for Myers. Lacob stated that their organization is robust and there is potential for an internal candidate to be selected, but no decision has been made yet. Lacob intends to focus on resolving the matter.
