On the 28th of August JST my favourite v-singer Sumeragi Lion will be ending activities and graduating from Pripro. It breaks my heart to see him go. He’s an incredible singer and it was always exciting to see what he was going to do next. His range??? His ability to scream??? TOP TIER! Even though his content will most likely be removed after his departure, I encourage you all to please listen to this metalhead tanuki’s covers and original song while it’s all still available on his youtube. His cover of “Unique Parade / ユニークパレード ” by Utsu-P will always be the ULTIMATE version of that song to me until my end of days.
Thank you for everything Lion! Good luck to the future and ROCK ON! METAL IS FOREVER!

Tumblr media
Translator's notes can be found throughout the text and are marked with an asterisk.
Do not retranslate/repost without permission.
Everyone has the magic to make dreams come true
"Now, here is a story about two strangers, The Scarecrow, The Tin Woodman, and The Cowardly Lion.
The story of their future begins."
Synopsis of the story
Theo and Terry are boys who live in rural Kansas. They were bored with their mundane lives and felt life had lost its purpose.
Just as they were wishing they could escape from the monotonous gray days, they were caught up in a massive tornado and whisked away to the Land of Oz.
In order to return to Kansas, the two decide to visit the Wizard of Oz, who rules over the Emerald City.
Along the way they meet Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Lion, and embark on a journey to make *Theo and Terry's wishes come true……
[Note: there is no mention in the Japanese text about it being only Theo and Terry's wishes, in fact, each character has a wish.]
Characters
Eiji Otori as Theo
A kindhearted and quiet boy. He used to live in the city, but due to his family's circumstances, he was taken in by his aunt and uncle.
Tumblr media
Nagi Mikado as Terry
A boy who lives in Kansas. He is Theo’s best and only friend. He’s tired of living in the country and longs for the city.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Yamato Hyuga as Lion
A cowardly lion. He struggles with the difference between his image and that of the "King of Beasts". He joins the journey in search of courage.
Tumblr media
Eiichi Otori as Oz
A great wizard who reigns over the Emerald City. He *is rarely granted an audience, and his true identity is shrouded in mystery.
[Note- In my opinion, they meant: "He rarely grants an audience", according to the Japanese text.]
Tumblr media
Shion Amakusa as Glinda
The Good Wizard of the South, Quadling Country. He possesses mighty magical powers and watches over the group's journey.
Tumblr media
Glossary
Kansas
A state with a thriving cattle industry located in the center of the United States. It’s also known as part of “America’s Great Plains” because of its flat terrain.
Munchkin
A country where nature is abundant and everything you see is blue. The Wicked Witch of the East ruled over the area, but peace was restored when Theo accidentally defeated her.
Silver shoes
Magic shoes worn by the Wicked Witch of the East. Theo, having accidentally defeated the witch, accepts them as a reward and sets off on his journey.
Red poppy
It’s a dangerous flower with the power to make you drowsy when you inhale its fragrance, and if you continue to inhale it, you will remain permanently asleep.
Emerald City
The city where the Wizard of Oz resides, everything is emerald green. The view is beautiful but artificial, and the population looks busy at work.
Emerald green spectacles
It’s necessary to wear these spectacles when entering Emerald City to avoid getting blinded by its brightness.
Quadling
The country where Glinda, the Good Wizard of the South, resides. It is very prosperous and full of happiness, and here the buildings are painted bright red.

❝ i will be here, standing beside you. ❞ { mikoto to ryoma! }
"Mother..."
Heavy was the head that was promised to wear the crown, yet something in Ryoma balked at the thought of dispelling such weight, distributing it among his siblings as thorned-crown favours, placing the pressure of the realm on their shoulders before they ever needed to know the woe of the throne, the pressure of a war held at bay with word alone, the weight of the people's thought and expectations.
They had already suffered enough with the loss of Sumeragi, came the rust-hooked voice of determination, that steely conviction, bound still in the blood of resolution, of self-sacrifice. They have lost enough, and my shoulders are for their burdens.
Still, Mikoto's words were enough to bring shame and comfort to the prince's heart; shame, that he was not strong enough to hide the ghosts of his burdens from her watchful gaze, and comfort that she would be there, that bastion of familiarity, of affection freely given, of those gold-tinged days of carefree youth. The ghost of the boy who had stood, nervous and trembling, outside her chambers, bleary-eyed and confessing he felt a stranger in his own body, a prince and not a princess, brushed beneath his skin, lived yet still beneath his armour; the dedication to protect Mikoto, to protect his mother and brother and sisters and sibling, as he had not protected Sumeragi like armour and prayer alike, a spark to be nurtured and a sword to be wielded in their defence.
Ryoma's head dipped, a slight smile carefully notched into the edges of his lips. Stubborn strands of hair, a shade too short to be swept into the careful spikes of his lion's mane, fell over the rim of his faceplate, brushing at the edges of his brows -- the look of the boy, where so usually there was the prince.
Tumblr media
"....Thank you," came the warm response, earnest and humble. "There is no one else I would rather have at my side, now or ever."

; Verse || Hope and War (FE) ⚡
In this verse Xander is still a sword/magic user. Classes are not fully canon-compliant. His choice of weapons are as follows: • Silver sword His main spells are as follows: • Thoron • Thunder • Recover Special skill: Thunder Wall: Adjacent female allies get a +3 to their defense. If paired with a female ally the bonus is +5 to their defense (does not stack). This verse is an umbrella verse tag for Fates, Awakening, 3H, and SOV. Read under the cut for more information.
Fates Timeline: Hoshido and Revelations routes only. A royal guard to Queen Makoto, he swore to protect her no matter the situation. In honor of his late mother and sister he promised he would follow her anywhere. This included leaving Valla and integrating himself into Hoshidan society. He was easily taken into the fold of samurai upon Makoto’s marriage to Sumeragi. Ever at her side he would never let harm befall her. This meant Corrin was no secret to him. Though in honor of Queen Makoto he vowed to keep the knowledge to himself and would think of Corrin as nothing more than a sibling to both warring noble families. Queen Makoto’s death was difficult on him. He blamed himself for not being vigilant enough, not scoping out the square beforehand. It rips him apart from the inside that the promises he made to the three most important women in his life were shattered in one moment. He then makes a new one: he will avenge Queen Makoto for all their sakes. If Corrin chooses Nohr, you will fight Xander on the map in which you battle Takumi. He ends up grievously wounded and disappears into obscurity. If Corrin chooses Hoshido, Xander will be one of the first to step up and claim trust to Corrin’s cause. Like Kaze, he will offer to serve as their shield and sword.
Supports: • Corrin (male and female): C B A S • Felicia: C B A S • Kaze: C B A S • Sakura: C B A • Azura: C B A • Subaki: C B A • Saizo: C B A • Oboro: C B A • Takumi: C B A • Reina: C B A • Leo C B A S • Elise: C B A • Kagero: C B A S Classes: Samurai → Grandmaster Support ending (single): Mission complete, Xander takes it upon himself to retire to a quiet home in Hoshido’s forests. The need to no longer be a knight weighs strangely on his shoulders, but now he is able to take it upon himself to finally settle down and focus on his magic practices in earnest. Awakening Timeline: Similar to Cherche, Xander arrives in Ylisse with Virion after their home of Valm has been cast into war. Only he had insisted that he go directly with Virion to protect him. Seeing as his liege proclaims loyalty to the Ylissian crown and to aid in their war against Grima, he offers his sword readily. He one day hopes to go back home to Valm and see both his mother and younger sister safe. All of this is for them, after all. Supports: • Robin (male and female): C B A S • Lissa: C B A • Virion: C B A • Cherche: C B A S • Miriel: C B A • Sumia: C B A S • Lon’qu: C B A S • Ricken: C B A • Panne: C B A • Libra: C B A S • Olivia: C B A S Classes: Mage → Dark Knight  Support ending (single): Once the war effort is over, Xander stays behind in Ylisse for at least another year helping rebuild the country. It is only until summoned back by Virion, and insisted by Chrom, that he return home to his family. Both his mother and sister are very proud and happy to see him home safe. Three Houses Timeline: Recruitable in all three routes. Born of commoner blood, Xander was nothing more than a young boy with big dreams. He dreamt of fighting for what was right and serving the king of Faerghus. It was something he held close since he was little and naive. Getting into the officers academy took hard work. He was not as naturally gifted at magic as his mother and sister, but he was skilled with the sword. An education was necessary to provide for his family, and with some skill to his name he worked as a sellsword until he raised enough money to enter the academy and enroll into the Blue Lions house. When the war begins, Xander is angry. But he still clutches on to the dreams he had when he was young. He promises that he’ll do whatever he can to keep his family safe, and so after fleeing Garreg Mach he makes it a point to return home to consult his mother and sister. And once he has the answers he seeks, he returns to Garreg Mach for their millennium festival ready to fight for the side him and his family believe in. To recruit him you must be at least B rank with both swords and reason magic. If unrecruited, you fight against him in Fhirdiad. Supports: • Byleth (male and female): C B A S • Dimitri: C B A • Dedue: C B A • Felix: C B • Sylvain: C B A S • Mercedes: C B A • Annette: C B A • Ingrid: C B • Marianne: C B A S • Hilda: C B • Raphael: C B A • Ignatz: C B • Linhardt: C B A • Caspar: C B • Catherine: C B A • Shamir: C B A S Classes: Commoner → Myrmidon → Mage → Trickster → Holy Knight Support ending (single): Once the war is won, Xander takes up arms to be one of the knights protecting the ruler of Fódlan. He works tirelessly to shield them from harm all the while sending back some of his earnings to his family. He even invites them so he can introduce them to their new leader. Shadows of Valentia Timeline: TBA Supports: • Alm: C B A • Clive: C B • Tobin: C B A • Kliff: C B • Faye: C B • Gray: C • Lukas: C B A • Delthea: C B • Zeke: C B A Classes: Mercenary → Paladin Support ending (single)

Note
It amuses me every time to see people project modern, western (!), sensibilities on characters meant to live in a past time period. The Dimitri situation reminds me a bit of an argument I had where the other person claimed Sumeragi was a good and honorable person, so he would never have cheated by making Mikoto a concubine. Dimitri's queen wouldn't even face most of the issues a "royal mistress" normally brings: No threat of being replaced, no danger of illegitimate children etc. (1/2)
Reduced influence would be one thing, but considering all we know of this queen is that she and Dimitri weren't "that" close, it likely wouldn't have been too big, even if he and Felix were entirely platonic. Is it an ideal situation? No. But considering all of the circumstances, I really wonder why having a discreet affair next to a likely purely political marriage would be too immoral a thing for Dimitri.
The moral sensibilities of any given FE are all over the place - see @agoddamn‘s excellent takedown of how this applies to issues like racism and class structure - so in that sense I’m not too surprised that the fandom freely layers modern Anglo* values on top of what’s in canon. You also see it in how same-sex marriage is all over the place in fanwork even though few of the paired endings in-game imply anything remotely like that. This is probably also why Lions same-sex content is less popular overall than that of the Eagles, because as I’ve said before the Lions work within a more pre-modern framework of (male) queerness that situates it as socially and culturally distinct from heterosexual monogamy, even when practiced publicly. Other FE rulers have had multiple partners - do we even know how many Ionius had, or Garon for that matter? - so it’s inexplicable to me that this would suddenly only matter if it’s been applied to the good guys and/or to non-straight characters.
*My own parents had multiple extramarital affairs and almost never had sex with each other apart from when they produced their two sons, and numerous other relations had similar arrangements with the understanding that public nonmonogamy has been fashionable, not to mention socially advantageous, for centuries in French society. One takes precautions to prevent bastards that cannot be supported, but that’s hardly much trouble. I always assumed that Anglo and similarly prudish people were simply either too guilt-laden or too unimaginative (or perhaps they take their religions too seriously? Not that there aren’t Catholics who do the same....) to conceive of anything beyond vanilla monogamy, and so they brand anything else as “cheating” or the like. Applying this rigid relationship structure to same-sex intimacy has always struck me as particularly absurd. You’re already breaking the rules; why tie yourself down further unless you’re into that?

rating Ryoma’s outfits
the standart:
Tumblr media
I love his color sceme, the armor looks very samurai, even unintentionally looking like a lobster, (their goal was a lion/dragon motif), it’s great. 10/10
the flying thunderbolt:
Tumblr media
there’s a lot of things going on, while at the same using a lot of things from his standart design, the tinhg in the back is distracting from his beautiful long hair, so. 6/10
the capricorn king:
Tumblr media
oh god, the four horns in this helmet it’s too much, but overall it’s a nice outfit and matches with king sumeragi’s, but not woks for me. 5/10
the trainee:
Tumblr media
look at him doing the best as he can, while the art makes him look more skinny than he really is, it’s great to show the roots, before becoming the powerhouse that can beat fates by himself. 9/10
the dancing perfection:
Tumblr media
absolutly fantastic, I could whatch him 24/7 without geting bored, it’s just perfect. 100000000000000000000000000000/10

I kind of forgot I bought this gorgeous 560 page Japanese Beyblade manga. I've been lacking confidence in my Japanese reading ability lately... even though Beyblade should be such an easy read. Anyway, these are the character introduction pages. I'm tired, so I'm not going to spend the time to translate their descriptions right now. But I might as well decipher the meanings behind the kanji in their names. This has been done many times before, I'm sure. But I want to feel the accomplishment of doing this myself. 木ノ宮 (Kinomiya) The first kanji, ki, means tree or wood. The last one, Miya, means shrine or palace. That's rather pretty, actually. I think the "no" in the middle is just to connect the two. I was surprised to see it, because it looks like katakana rather than kanji in the middle of his surname. Sadly it isn't revealed how Takao's given name is spelled in Kanji. They spell it with katakana as if it's a foreign name. Maybe because it's easier to write/read for children. For some reason, it doesn't have Max's surname written here. But other sources say Mizuhara is spelled 水原. The first kanji means water, and the second one can mean plain/field/meadow. 金季 (Kon Rei) Kon is written with the kanji for gold, and Rei is written with the kanji for season. I think the wiki had the wrong kanji for his name, because once I looked up the translation, and it said it meant plum. His name is not "plum", it's "season". 火渡 (Hiwatari) As with Tyson, Kai's given name is written with katakana, so there's no way to know what meaning his name would have if it was written in Kanji. As for Hiwatari, "hi" means fire, and "watari" means transit/ cross over /ferry across. I don't know how to interpret that... Maybe meaning that he has the ability to go through fire or something? 十文字ヒカル (Tomonji Hikaru) The combination of the three kanji in his surname translate to "cross". The first kanji means the number 10. The second kanji can mean "sentence, literature, or style". The third kanji means... well, "kanji". It means written characters/letters. Now, his given name is spelled ヒカル in katakana here, but usually when I see the name Hikaru, it's spelled with 光, which means light. 獅子剣之介 (Jiji Kennosuke) The two kanji in his surname together make "lion". While the first "ji" still means lion by itself, the second one is actually the kanji for "child". Which makes it look like it should say "lion child" or "lion cub" to me, which is pretty cute. As for his given name, Ken means sword. -Nosuke is a common suffix to a lot of Japanese male names. The "no" part just means "of". "Suke" can mean a few different things, like "to concern oneself with"... or "shellfish"? It can also mean "meditate", which sounds the most appropriate here. 皇大地 Last but not least, Sumeragi Daichi! His surname is written with just one kanji. To my surprise, it means Emperor! The first kanji of Daichi means big, and the second one means ground. Together they make earth. I'm not sure if it means earth as in the planet, or like... a huge amount of dirt/soil. Like all the soil on earth. Depending on how you spin it, his name sounds like either Emperor of Earth or Emperor of Dirt! xD Ouch. That took longer than expected. I give thanks to my app, Imiwa, for helping me find kanji meanings. The other characters on here, ZO, Zaggart, and Yuriy, don't have kanji in their names since they aren't Japanese or Chinese. The kanji after Zaggart's name is just 博士, meaning Doctor. Meaning he has a doctorate degree, not that he's an actual medical doctor. Okay, I need to go to bed.

As Long and Sharp as Yours (Suzalulu Week Day 6:  AU/soundtrack : What’s Justice )
Author’s Note: Part of the AU of @touchreceptors’ Game of Thrones AU and previously written about here (Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3). Title take from The Rains of Castamere from Game of Thrones.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws, And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
Lelouch took a deep breath as the door shut, blocking out the sound of Sumeragi Momoka as she mourned her brother. Lelouch squeezed his eyes shut as another wail rose, curling his fingers into his kimono. He was almost glad of the sound even as it grated on his nerves. He could feel a similar sound working its way up his own throat, but he couldn’t give in.
The shogun was dead. His heir was in a critical condition. The whole palace was in an uproar.
He took another deep breath, holding it in for a moment before letting it go. As he breathed, he let the anger and the worry curl together in the only way he knew how. It was how he had survived in Westros, it is how he would survive this.
Lelouch opened his eyes, turning around to look at who had come out of the room where Genbu’s body was laid out. He bowed his head to Tomoe, watching as she wiped her face on her sleeve. He didn’t comment on it, the time for court pleasantries was not now. The kingdom expected to see her mourning, especially after what had happened.
He swallowed and took a step towards her, relieved when she was the one to reach out to him. Lelouch was quick to grab her hand tightly, squeezing it. Tomoe held onto him just as tightly, looking at him. “How is he?”
“Alive.” It was a relief to say the word, Lelouch relaxing as he spoke. He nodded to Tomoe. “He’s alive. They say that, if he survives the night, then he will live.”
“Suzaku is strong.”
“Yes, he is.” Lelouch glanced down the hall towards the room where Suzaku had been taken to. He wanted to go back in there, to sit by Suzaku’s side and hold his hand. He’d been chased out to allow the doctors and surgeons to do their work, but that left him without anything to do. He was not about to stand outside Genbu’s room, listening to Momoka cry, and his other option was to retreat to where Rina was being kept away from it all. Then again, his daughter was too smart by halves. She had probably figured out that something was wrong and he didn’t want to answer her questions, not when there was so much he didn’t know.
He let go of Tomoe’s hand, shuddering as Momoka went silent. He was sure that she was going to start up again, but the silence made it all worse. Lelouch gave Suzaku’s room one last look before starting down the hall. He was relieved when Tomoe followed him. Lelouch didn’t know what he was going to do, but at least he wouldn’t look so lost with Tomoe with him.
They walked down the hallway in silence, Lelouch prepared for it to last until they made a circle of the private apartments. Instead Tomoe took a turn that led out to the yard where the soldiers practiced. The change was enough to get him to slow down for a moment, but Tomoe pressed on like she hadn’t noticed. Lelouch frowned and rushed to catch up, having to nearly run as he kept up with her. “Tomoe?”
“We have one of them, one of the ones from Shinkine.” Lelouch was surprised by the demand, but he didn’t have time to say anything. He caught up to her in time for Tomoe to glance his way. “I heard that we caught one of them. I don’t know how or why but I heard it during the rush.”
Lelouch could only stare, because he hadn’t heard that and it made his heart beat faster. “Where?”
“Tohdoh has him.”
Lelouch nodded, picking up his pace to match hers. He fixed his gaze beyond the open doors at the end of the hall. He didn’t look over at Tomoe, his gaze already fixed on where the elite guard were waiting. He saw all of them snap to attention, looking between the two of them. He wasn’t sure what they could get from his face, but he was sure that they saw all they needed from Tomoe’s face.
He sought out Tohdoh, watching as the commander slumped slightly. Lelouch didn’t linger over Tohdoh for long, his attention going to the man that was kneeling on the ground. He had probably been kneeling there since they had brought back Genbu and Suzaku. Lelouch looked him, the corner of his mouth twitching.
He stepped down from the palace, making his way over to the man even as Tomoe walked over to Tohdoh. Lelouch paused a little way away from the man, looking him over. He was almost glad of the sharp spark of anger that came from seeing him, it was easier than grief. It was more familiar than grief.
It was what he had gathered close to his chest and held when his mother had died, and when Nunnally had been injured. It had been something that he had held onto through those long summer days and short nights until he’d managed to bring Sir Vincent into a trail by combat with Sir Jeremiah. It had been worth all those long days and nights, and Lelouch believed that Sir Jeremiah enjoyed it as well.
Sir Vincent’s head had looked good rotting over the gates of Tintagel for the few weeks it took the news to get back to Pendragon. Even with the fancy political work he’d had to do afterwards, it had been worth it. Sir Vincent may have been the emperor’s brother, but he had killed a royal consort and injured a princess of the empire. It had been worth the look on his father’s face when he had talked Charles into a corner. It had almost been worth the years of exile from the court.
Lelouch didn’t know what kind of satisfaction he could pull out of this, but he was willing to try to get the utmost.
He paced in front of the man, looking him over. It was good that the man didn’t look up, because Lelouch wouldn’t be able to hold himself back. They needed the man for whatever Tomoe was planning and for whatever ideas were starting to form in his head. He had the patience to wait to hear what Tomoe’s plans were, but he didn’t have the patience for those long summer days again. Someone had stolen from him again, and he was going to make them pay for it.
Lelouch circled around the man, ignoring the way that Chiba cleared her throat. The man looked defeated enough, which was all he wanted for the moment. He narrowed his eyes at the coiled gold dragon he saw embroidered on the man’s kimono, his fingers twitching. He resisted the urge to rip it off the man, glad for a distraction when Tohdoh spoke up.
“I am sorry to hear of your loss, my lady. I hope-”
“Suzaku is still alive.” Tomoe’s voice was harsher than Lelouch had ever heard it. He looked up at her, taking in her neutral expression before looking over at Tohdoh.
Tohdoh seemed to take the harsh tone in stride, because he nodded slowly. “Thank the gods.”
“I do.” Tomoe took a deep breath. “But I believe I need to ask for a different blessing for the moment, depending on what that man can tell us.”
She turned, Lelouch moved with her to look down at the man kneeling on the ground. He saw the man flinch before he raised his head. Lelouch expected fear or anger, not an expressionless face.
The man hesitated for a moment before nodding. “I am Hyuga Akito and I offer whatever help I can give.”
Lelouch huffed, just barely stopping himself from laughing. “And why is that?”
His question finally got Akito’s expression to change, but it was only for a split second. Then it was back to the carefully practiced neutrality and his attention was back on Tomoe. “Because my brother is a traitor. Because he betrayed his sovereign lord. Because he killed the shogun.” Akito went silent for a moment, his mouth working before he settled again. “Because he killed my father and mother, and everyone else.”
Lelouch sighed and looked over at Tomoe. He’d had precious little time to learn about everything that had happened in Ashigaru since his arrival. It had been a crash course in the current politics and then balancing that with taking care of a child. He knew the history vaguely, but not the details. But, judging from the expression on Tomoe’s face, what Akito was saying was true.
Tomoe studied the man, Lelouch watching as a slow smile crossed her face. “I can understand those reasons, but they’re not enough.”
Akito nodded. “I don’t expect them to be.”
Tomoe hummed. “But they’re not enough to kill you for, not if you’re willing to help us. You see, your brother killed my husband and he might have killed my son. That cannot be overlooked.” She was silent for a moment before she shook her head. “And, if you are in earnest, then this will not be overlooked by the rest of your clan.”
Akito shrugged. “They are dead. They can’t hurt me.”
“Still, there are your brother’s supporters to think about…”
Lelouch looked between the two of them, some of the vague ideas coalescing in his mind. He let his gaze rest on Tomoe for a moment, before he cleared his throat. That was enough to get Akito’s gaze to jerk to him. “You can fight?”
The question seemed to confuse him for a moment, but Akito was quick to nod. Lelouch smiled, clasping his hands behind his back as he started to pace a circle around Akito. “Good because a friend of my family has recently been in need of a good knight by their side. I’m not offering you a place as a mercenary, but as a staple of the household. It is in Avrupa…will that be far enough away?”
The corner of Akito’s mouth twisted up in a smile. “I will take it.”
“Good.” Lelouch came around to crouch in front of Akito. There was emotion there, something more than the careful expression of before. That was a man who had been ready to die. This was the expression of one ready to live. Lelouch matched his grin, meeting Akito’s gaze. “Now tell me, how are your brother’s defenses?”
Lelouch watched as the doors were pulled open, barely paying attention to the man who announced him, he was too busy looking around the room.
It wasn’t the simple grandeur that he was used to from Genbu’s palace, nor was it the opulence in stone and glass that he was used to from Pendragon. This was the opulence that everyone accused the court at Pendragon of, all gold, bright paint and jewels. Lelouch bit his lip, meting the gazes of a thousand painted dragons, all of them gold. He turned his head to look at the nearest one, meeting its sapphire gaze before he jerked his gaze away. He wasn’t there to stare at dragons, he was there for the man standing towards the back of the room.
The man was still introducing him, a long list of titles that Lelouch had stopped paying attention to. He was sure that the man at the back of the room had stopped paying attention too. Shin Hyuga Shaing didn’t look like the kind of man that would have the patience for that, not after a great victory.
An imagined victory.
Lelouch stepped forward, ignoring the way that the man sputtered. He walked towards where Shin waited, trying to keep his pace steady. He couldn’t rush, couldn’t put a foot out of place. Everything had to be perfect.
He gaze flicked to the side, Lelouch watching as two men kneeling by a fire stopped what they were doing. He stopped as well, watching as a handful of gold coins fell into the pot. Lelouch tipped his head to the side, watching the two men for a moment more before looking back towards Shin.
The man had moved closer with a smirk so wide across his face that Lelouch wanted to punch it off. Instead, Lelouch smiled, tipping his head in acknowledgement. “Lord Hyuga. Or is it Lord Shaing.”
Shin hesitated at that, Lelouch turning his head to look at the gold in the pot again. “If I recall, that’s highly illegal.”
That finally got a reaction. Shin laughed, shaking his head. “Legalities will be a bit fuzzy for a while, and for that I apologize. But this,” he swept his hand out towards the pot, “this is how the Ashigaru bring change. One shogun has fallen and another one has taken it’s place. It’s clearing out the house, something you Westrosi do more literally, don’t you? How many men were killed the last time one of your Great Houses decided to clean things up?”
“You’ll have to be more specific.”
Shin laughed again, Lelouch trying to hide the way that he bristled. If anything showed, Shin must have misread it because he waved Lelouch off dismissively. “Take your pick, you know them better than I do. They’re all the same to me. My world is here, these islands and Edo.”
“Really?” Lelouch glanced out towards the other side of the room, watching the city through the open doors. It was a move that his father would have done. A move that only someone confident that there would be no retaliation would do.
It was the move of a fool.
He turned to look back at Shin, looking the man up and down. “I was not aware that Lord Kururugi included you in the line of succession.”
“No!” Lelouch’s eyes widened as Shin snapped out the word, watching the man bristle before he settled himself down, but the façade had been broken. The cautious lord was gone, and there was something like madness there.
Then, as quickly as it was there, it was gone. Shin was back with a banal smile. “That may be the way things are done in Westros or the way that the Kururugis have done it to preserve their position and dignity, but not the way things were done. We have always taken it in turn to rule.”
“You make it sound so peaceable.”
“Sometimes it was.” Shin sighed, stepping back. He gestured to him, Lelouch not hesitating to follow him. Shin led him over to the doors, his focus on the city as he talked. “Sometimes it wasn’t. We are all human, after all. But the cycle had gone stagnant, so it was time to get it moving again.”
Lelouch took a deep breath, swallowing back a growl. “That movement killed my father-in-law and your lord. It killed my husband.”
Shin made an impatient motion with his hand, Lelouch shocked by how easily he brushed it off. “It wasn’t meant to be an insult.”
“It’s hard to not feel like it is.”
“Well, my apologies for that. It is simply…renewal.” Shin shrugged and motioned with one arm, showing off the city with the sweep. He stepped forward to rest his hands on the balcony, smiling down at the city. “And it will be glorious. Something I think you understand.”
Shin paused to look at him out of the corner of his eye, Lelouch not liking the grin that spread across his face. “It’s why you came here after all, isn’t it? You came because you saw which way the wind was blowing and are trying to ingratiate yourself with me. But it won’t work, because I know how you work.”
Lelouch leaned on the rail, curling his fingers into the wood to keep himself from visibly reacting. “You know me?”
“Very well. I had to when you came as ambassador.” Shin smirked, leaning forward to meet his gaze. Lelouch shuddered but allowed it, not sure if Shin smiled because he thought Lelouch was listening or because he had provoked a reaction. “I thought that you were going to be more of a threat to my plans. I thought that you were going to raise all of Ashigaru and turn it on your father.”
Lelouch tipped his head, a smile crossing his face. “Now why would I do that?”
“Do you need a single reason? I found many while I was looking.  There’s the matter of your mother, your sister, your own property at Tintagel,” Shin stumbled over the word, “cruelly stripped away from you. I could go on, but it would be rude to bore a guest. Suffice to say that I have you all figured out.”
Shin cleared his throat and pushed away from the railing. Lelouch turned to look at him, watching as Shin walked back into his throne room. “You want what every Britannian prince wants, the throne. Your father is getting old and his heir is weak by any country’s definition of it. So the rest of you are snapping at his heels, waiting to see which one knocks him down. And then, you will turn on them and consume each other until there’s only one left. Or none left.” Shin shrugged. “But that doesn’t matter, because you can’t compete. You have nothing because your mother had nothing and because you couldn’t whore your way into the loyalty of enough knights.”
“Watch your tongue!” Lelouch pushed away from the railing, storming over to where Shin was standing. His smile was different now, crueler and that made Lelouch want to lash out.
He stopped when he was right in front of Shin, hating that he had to tip his head back slightly to look at the man. From the way that Shin was grinning, it was all planned.
Lelouch puffed himself up. “You are talking to the heir’s consort.”
“No.” Shin reached out to brush his fingers across Lelouch’s cheek, Lelouch flinching away. Shin’s face contorted, his fingers curling into claws.
Lelouch reached out to grab onto Shin’s wrist, growling low. “You will not touch me.”
Shin jerked his hand away, taking a step back. “And you will not talk to me like that. You have no position now that Suzaku is dead, not unless you managed to whore your way into another house.” His gaze dropped to Lelouch’s stomach. “Is another one brewing in there? Your next big political move? With Suzaku gone, you will need another army.”
Lelouch seethed and stepped away, going back to the doors. He took a few deep breaths, scanning over the city. His gaze lingered on the walls, watching as a group of men ran along them. Lelouch flexed his fingers, watching as the men leaned over, securing something to the outside of the wall before moving along. A few more of them dropped into the compound, Lelouch watching as they ran towards where the soldiers and deer were kept. He watched them run, picking out the outspread wings of the phoenix before he turned away.
He looked back at Shin, watching as the man went to check on the pot of gold. He nodded at the two men before turning back to look at Lelouch, the cruel smile still on his face.
Shin spread his arms in a shrug.  “If you came looking for your army, you wasted your time. I don’t intend to help you, Westrosi business is its own. Besides. how will I know that you are mine?”
“You test my patience, Lord Hyuga.” Lelouch stepped away from the railing. “If you cannot speak to me with the respect I deserve then-”
“Then what?” Shin laughed and shook his head. “You have no power here, you never have. Any power you had is back in Westros, and even that is limited. The Britannias might have struck fear into the hearts of the world once, but no longer. They are settled now, confident in their position and lazy. Even their infamous dragons are gone, the last one that fled was your mother’s, I believe.” Shin sighed and gestured to the throne room. “You may call yourselves dragons, but you are no more dragons than I am. But at least I know my strength and power. You are as weak as your other siblings. Without your alpha your teeth are broken and your claws are blunt.”
Lelouch stared at him, watching Shin smirk before he leaned forward and laughed. He heard Shin make a confused sound, Lelouch shaking his head as he leaned back against the railing. He wrapped his arms around his stomach, laughing even as he heard Shin shouting orders at him. He didn’t stop until Shin stepped up to him, grabbing a fistful of his kimono and pulling him forward.
“What are you laughing at?”
Lelouch shook his head, reaching up to grab onto Shin’s hand. He grabbed onto Shin’s fingers and started to pull them back. Lelouch smiled as Shin’s face contorted in pain, some part of him amused by the way that Shin kept glaring at him. He didn’t know if it was something to be admired or just sheer stupidity.
He let his grin spread wide across his face. “You.”
Shin’s face contorted in rage, but he didn’t get the chance to speak. Lelouch couldn’t turn around, but he could hear the rush of flames and the screams of men. He kept the grin on his face as Shin let go of him, the man rushing to look over the balcony.
Lelouch pushed away from the railing, not bothering to look over his shoulder. He knew what Shin would be seeing, all of his army scattered and broken. All of them being put to the sword for their crimes, or the ones that didn’t immediately surrender. Lelouch wasn’t sure what Tomoe would do with the ones that did, but she was welcome to them. He wanted his little piece of revenge. It didn’t matter that he had been lying about Suzaku being dead, it didn’t matter that Suzaku was probably out of danger. It only mattered that Shin had dared, and that was enough.
Lelouch walked back into the throne room, meeting the sparkling gaze of all of the dragons. He wrinkled his nose at them, shaking his head before looking at where the two men had been. They both had run off, Lelouch guessing that they had gone as soon as they heard the screams. Of course, where they had gone was the question. Shin was still too new to his power, too sure of it. And it made him want to laugh.
For all of his talking about how he had figured out how the Britannian prince and princesses fought, he had failed to learn.
Lelouch paced back down the hall, pausing to look back at Shin. He was still leaning over the railing, Lelouch unable to hear if he was shouting orders over the screaming that was happening below. It was just fun to watch, like it had been fun to watch Sir Vincent realize what was going to happen to him.
Shin didn’t spend as long trying to figure it out, he rounded on him quickly. Lelouch raised an eyebrow as Shin swayed in place, but the stillness didn’t last long. The man strode towards him, his fingers curled into claws. “What have you done?!”
“What Westrosi omegas do best. We distract.”
Shin looked back over his shoulder, muttering a curse. “Tohdoh.”
“And Tomoe.” Lelouch grinned with Shin finally looked back at him. “She’s got things to settle with you too, but she’s more patient than I. I wanted immediate gratification. I wanted to watch as you figured out what you had done.”
“Bastard!”
Lelouch took a step back, retreating as Shin advanced.  It was surprisingly easy to keep his voice level in the face of Shin’s anger. “You renewed nothing. You saved nothing. You just killed yourself.”
“Whore!”
Lelouch narrowed his eyes, stepping to the side as Shin lunged for him. He kicked at the back of Shin’s knee, bringing the man down to the ground.
Shin went down with a grunt, but he didn’t stay down. Lelouch grabbed at him, fumbling through the holds that Suzaku had taught him. It had been a day of laughter and a kiss exchanged for every success, and the memory just made his anger burn brighter.
He twisted Shin’s arm behind his back, hauling the man up by the hold so his knee was in the small of Shin’s back. “Watch your tongue. You are addressing your shogun’s consort and a prince of Westros. I will not be insulted.”
Shin gave an inarticulate scream of rage, trying to buck him off. Lelouch gritted his teeth and leaned more against Shin, breathing heavily with the effort. His arms shook, Lelouch jerking his head back as Shin tried to knock his head back Lelouch’s. He muttered a curse, glancing down at the fire they were partially kneeling in front of with a smile. He leaned close to Shin again. “If you want to be shogun so badly you need a symbol of power. I’m quite partial to a crown.”
He let up his hold just long enough to see Shin turn his head.  It was good to see his eyes widen, Lelouch letting the realization sit for a moment before shoving Shin forward.
The surprise made it easy, Lelouch shifting his hold before his hands could get close to the fire and molten gold.
Shin jerked in his hold, Lelouch cursing and throwing his whole weight against Shin, panting for breath.
Shin bucked and twisted, Lelouch shutting his eyes and holding on until the movement stopped. Even then he kept pressing down, Lelouch waiting for a moment more just to be sure. He didn’t want to turn his back on Shin, not until he was sure that the man was dead. He’d showed his hand, and he didn’t have another plan if this one failed.
Lelouch carefully let go of Shin, stepping away from the body. He watched it carefully for a moment, backing away from the corpse. When it stayed where it was, Lelouch gave it a satisfied nod. He gave the room one last look, rolling his eyes at the ornate dragons that were curled and twined around everything. He gave them all a dismissive wave before turning on his heel and walking out of the hall.
He didn’t want to linger any longer, not when there were many miles to go. Not when Suzaku would be waiting for him at the end of it.

Queen Ikona Yamato (née Amachi): Self-Defined Worth
“There lives a great threat just beyond those mountains,” her father told Ikona and her brother as they flew over their lush green rice fields, “If they do come, they’ll strike us first, so we must prepare for that moment.”
To live in the Amachi domain was to understand danger, a lesson the two children knew all too well when their father lost his life to a mercenary’s axe. The threat of the men from the west lands was truly real, she realized. And so, Ikona resolved herself to train hard and long for the next time such a catastrophe could happen. While she was busy learning to be a suitable bride for the high prince to whom she was engaged to, she spent the late hours of the night practicing swings with a wooden naginata.
“This won’t do,” her mother disapproved when she said she wanted to join the Sky Knight Corps with her brother. “You are an Amachi, and a prince’s bride. Know your duty.”
“Then I will learn the blade and the brush,” Ikona declared. “An Amachi strives for excellence.”
While her mother doubted her capabilities, her brother Hisashi swelled with pride and gifted her one of his prized naginata.
"Ignore those words, sister,” he said. “You can be strong in whichever way she chooses. If he rejects a woman as diligent as you, then Father would have chosen wrongly.”
The two climbed the ranks of the Sky Knight Corps together, and Ikona returned home regularly to complete her other duties. She gained much support from her fellow Sky Knights and was known for her flawless execution, perhaps even surpassing her brother Hisashi. Ikona was a high ranked officer by the time she formally met her future husband. Her mother’s words still echoed in her mind as she walked across the throne room to meet Sumeragi’s eye. She endured the prince’s long gaze and caught the twitch in the corner of his mouth at the sight of her weathered hands. She expected this, and fought to keep her composure.
"I chose to be strong in this way,” she answered his unspoken question, fully expecting a harsh rebuttal, but none came.
While many others in the court called for the high prince to annul their engagement, Prince Sumeragi refused, and welcomed her to Shirasagi Castle. When he let her stay with him, many called for her resignation from the Sky Knight Corps, and once again he refused to placate their demands. In the capital of Shirasagi, they lived side by side in a space where they could understand and come to tolerate each other. Sumeragi in her eyes had transformed from a boy who she only knew by name and station into a man she could trust and confide in. The two were finally wed on a cool summer’s day, and their first two children, Ryoma and Hinoka, were born not long after.
But an unexpected stranger was brought to the royal court. In search of a way to cure his aging father’s illness, Sumeragi returned with Eirene, a water maiden from legends old, beauty and grace unrivaled. The nobles may not have liked her nebulous origins, but they praised her enthralling songs, a far better fit for a Hoshidan king than a lady who understood nothing but war. But Eirene refused to give in to the possibility of rivalry and only sought to befriend the embattled queen.
“It is a waste to overlook the virtues of one so talented,” she said to Ikona. “How do they not see that your love for country and family is equal to mine?”
Moved by Eirene’s words, Ikona found a true companion, finally understanding why Sumeragi loved her so. Ikona and Sumeragi gave Eirene her official Hoshidan name, Mikoto, and the three of them defied the influence of the royal court and were inseparable. While nobles grumbled at their lack of propriety, much of the Hoshidan common people celebrated the courage of Queen Ikona and the wisdom of Lady Mikoto. Scholars foresaw good fortune and more prosperity following the birth of three more royal children suitable to take the Hoshidan throne. But the optimism would soon come to an end.
An uncovered smuggling business along the border was reviving tensions between the east and west lands. Hisashi Amachi, head of the Sky Knight Corps, was then prompted to request assistance from the royal guard to help enforce the additional trade restrictions imposed on his domain, and Ikona answered her brother’s plea. While investigating the local watch towers, Ikona uncovered irrefutable evidence that the smuggling ring was sponsored by none other than the Nohrian House Buelen, spearheaded by the royal consort Irma of Buelen. Before she could fly to warn her brother herself, an unsuspecting arrow struck her, sending her plummeting to the forest below.
The death of a Hoshidan queen shook the entire nation to its core. Her grieving brother, Hisashi, declared war on the bordering towns and cities on the west lands, and moved to rampage across the fields of Esterlyn and Morbank. The other noble clans and the royal family followed suit in the name of the queen. An age of strife and war began in earnest, all because of a single arrow.
And so my design lesson of the day is, if all else fails, add braids.
It seems to be a running theme in the Amachis that women get told no and they basically do the thing anyways
More supportive big brother Hisashi please
Hoshidan perception of women in military roles is somewhat antiquated and rooted in a class system
Nobility and common people live very different lives, in which the nobility are very much held to a high standard of appearances, even more so than in Nohr
Noblewomen aren’t expected to participate in the military, since gaining battle scars and rough hands from handling weapons are not very aesthetically pleasing traits, unlike in Nohr where signs of battle are to be admired and respected nationwide
A family that didn’t require their women to fight was considered a family of good status and great wealth and fortune
Which says a lot about how they feel about Nohrian nobility
Hoshido hasn’t had any major internal fighting, big wars, or even resource shortages for quite a long time, so it’s become fashionable to achieve a porcelain, flawless appearance
In other words, Hoshidan women are not supposed to enjoy fighting or war and should devote themselves to making peace and maintaining that peace
So negotiations, administration, entertainment, and running businesses? Sure that’s fine.
But taking up arms and going onto battle? Oh no, that’s improper! Who raised you?
Those who do participate in the military are usually assumed to have no plans of taking a husband or have failed in doing so
Noblewomen who become retainers often carry the implication that they are serving out of unrequited love for the person they serve (there’s some old story or poem about a noblewoman who did that)
Because they’ve “given up” on marriage but still want to do the admirable act of staying by their beloved’s side
Poetic, but very presumptuous.
Ninja clans and commoners (like Oboro and Kagero) do not have to meet up to such standards (since they aren’t expected to marry into nobility or involve themselves with the royal court)
Many of the female playable characters from noble classes face similar circumstances for deciding to take up arms
Hana and Setsuna have very lax families who don’t think any less of them for wanting to fight on the front lines, but they did get a lot of flak when they were training and when they were chosen
Hinoka probably has it rough because she’s emulating her mother, who was not looked highly upon for wanting to stay a permanent member of the Sky Knight Corps
For a worst case scenario, Reina had to relinquish up her right to inherit her claim as family heir, and is shunned by her sister and parents for reveling in bloodlust
Now that a real war is happening, these social rules are becoming less enforced
Considering that Ryoma can marry Rinkah, and Takumi can marry Oboro or Mozu, the social perception of women warriors with more social options can gain even more traction
Also add in Arisa (Corrin) walking around with no shoes and bringing home some Nohrian values, too
Ikona’s design is strongly based off of Tomoe Gozen, a 12th century female samurai
The most obvious detail is the hairstyle and the tiara
Since I once again make a point to draw characters with in-game weapons, she’s holding a Venge Naginata
Of course, Hinoka would model her armor after her mom
I don’t think she’d inherit Ikona’s armor (cape maybe), since it was probably damaged from the arrow wound
Ikona was a very statuesque person
I’m debating if she is taller than Sumeragi, but she most certainly towers over Mikoto
I mean, her brother is pretty tall, too
Unfortunately, Ryoma is the only one who manages to inherit her gift of height (his big lion’s mane of hair only adds to it)
Basically the Amachi are like tall flying elf folks with short tempers
Sumeragi was often up to a lot of mischief in his younger days, much to Ikona’s chagrin
He often thought she was too serious all the time and tried too hard
To be fair, she had many expectations to live up to, most of which he thinks are bullshit, so he gets upset when she overworks herself
Despite this, he stays by her side when she has her moments of extreme anxiety and does his best to help her get through the day
He admires her wishes to excel in whatever she wants, but he wants her to remember the big picture of things
They did later set aside their differences soon enough to accept their marriage and love each other
Meanwhile, Ikona can’t stand how he can be so nonchalant about things, like not giving as big of a fuck about what nobles think about them and just going after hours with Fuga
She preferred hanging out with Souji Inazuma, Sumeragi’s retainer, best friend and an equal voice of reason to the high prince
With close friends, she can be whatever she wants, but she worries about making mistakes in public and giving the other nobles reasons to doubt her capabilities or put pressure on her husband
She’s quick to point out anything Sumeragi didn’t do well, and her criticism can lead to some major disagreements, specifically about behavior before nobles and members of the court
Before the common people, or fellow Sky Knights, she is much less critical and vigilant about how she acts and appears
She was explicit about Hinoka and Sakura not repeating after her so they wouldn’t face the same ill treatment from nobility (but they went ahead and did it anyways)
Because her brother Hisashi is a redhead too (since red hair is an Amachi trademark), so I gave her a gradient to differentiate her a bit
The ends of her hair are grayish, in my weak attempt to justify why Takumi’s hair is remotely red (it’s like a really ashen pink with super low saturation, I say as I try to delude myself)
One time, I had an idea to make Takumi not Ikona’s son and Mikoto’s instead, mostly because of the hair color
It would be a silly plot twist for Takumi to be like “wait what my mom was Mikoto not Ikona??” and everyone would be like “like bruh, you have silver hair just like Corrin how did you not see that obvious Fire Emblem plot device?”
But then I decided not to and went ahead and made Anri look more like Mikoto
I can imagine the dirty jokes among Sumeragi, Mikoto, and Ikona over how Ikona seems more likely to get pregnant than Mikoto
Ikona made them swear not to let those jokes ever leave the room, but somehow her best friend Yumiko ends up knowing
Mikoto sometimes brings those old jokes up to her close friends
Orochi knows all about those jokes
Ryoma and Hinoka have had the misfortune of hearing those jokes from Orochi and Yumiko
Hisashi gets very upset on his sister’s behalf when Yumiko and Orochi mention those details
Ikona and her brother Hisashi were very close siblings, if the Amachi biography is of any indication
Their fondest memories are flying on their training pegasus in the evening, which is Hisashi’s favorite time of the day
She was really involved with the Sky Knight Corps even after her marriage to Sumeragi
I mean, she can’t turn down a chance to visit her brother
Ikona was good friends with Yumiko, her retainer and now Hisashi’s wife, and Reina
She was the one who recommended Reina as Mikoto’s retainer
Surprisingly, Ikona is the one with the major sweet tooth, not Sumeragi or Mikoto
It’s not easy for Ikona to admit that she loves someone, but boy is it worth it when she says it. Mikoto and Sumeragi can attest to that.
Ikona wasn’t impressed with Mikoto at first, since Mikoto had her silly moments that did not make good first impressions
She really came around after watching Mikoto play the koto (which she didn’t have much trouble given her work as a Vallite priestess)
Ikona not mastering the koto is often a sore spot for her and Sumeragi, since other nobles really dislike that she wasn’t that good at it
Mikoto offered Ikona lessons, and eventually she could play simple pieces every now and then, but Ikona preferred watching Mikoto play instead
In private, Ikona and Sumeragi call Mikoto by her Vallite name, Eirene

Voltron Legendary Defender, Boku No Hero Academia, Gundam 00
Ohhh! 3 frandoms! Gonna keep heavy spoilers out of this. Gonna put it under a Read More. it’s going to be a little long
the characters i’d shipHard to tell, bnha is youngest with both voltron and gundam cast being mostly late teems to early 20s. Feldt Grace (Gundam 00 )and Momo (BnHa) maybe?
the characters who would be BFFsPidge and Momo!!! They are both very smart and with Momo’s knowledge they and Hunk would make an awesome science team! Actually, add in Hatsume Mei too! She’s the gadgeteer genius. and she would love the alien tech!Setsuna isn’t really great with making friends, but he might end up seeing Shiro as an older brother if they interacted more. Hunk would probably also bond with Souda over food. Souda is best at baking over other food and they  could probablt teach each other a couple of things
the characters who would be enemiesEvery good guy and then some more against Ali(Gundam 00). Fuck that guy.
the characters who would be alliesMaybe Ali and the villain alliance. at least early vilain alliance (how it is currently in the anime).Shirin and Aizawa maybe. I feel they can get shit done in spite of how lazy Aizawa comes off as. Celestial Being and Blades of Mamora maybe.  I feel they have similarities in how they work and what they’re willing to do. Class 1-A would probably team up with the Paladins for the cuase, at least the kids. the BnHA is pretty strict and mostly work within the society. The Paladins and Castle of Lions are figting an intergalactic war.
the characters who would be allies, but reluctantlyI think heroes as a whole might be relucant to join forces with the Celestial being crew(gundam 00). they are quite strick about the laws in BnHA and Gundam is definitely working outside the law. I mean technically the voltron crew is doing that too but they’re on a war with the Galra empire and I doubt the heroes of BnHA and Gundam would help them. To be fair, Celestial Being is probably the most morally ambigous group of the “good guys” between the 3 fandoms. The Paladins might be more willing to help depending on when in the Gundam 00 timeline this is. Marina and Allura maybe. They are both princesses/elected figureheads in a time of conflict but have different opinions on war. Marina being an absolute pacifist and all.
the characters who would drive each other bananasSumeragi might drive Aizawa nuts. Early s1 Tieria would NOT be a team player with the paladins if he had to fight with them tbh.
the characters i think are the most alikeAhhh tough one. I’m... actually not sure... uhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... .... Iida and Neil to a point. Hear me out.  Neil never got over his family’s deaths. it’s one of this main motivators in the series. Iida was well on his way to have revenge consume him if it hadn’t been for Izuku and Todoroki.
my favorite character from each fandom & how i think they would get alongShiro, Todoroki and Tieria… they are all quite different. Neither Tieria and Todoroki are the best when it comes to teamwork, though they do get better. Tieria and Shiro both have experience with a militaristic organisation and would probably be able to work better together. Crossover meme

so anyways, val is the real mvp and helped me come up with an actual ‘born in fodlan’ three houses verse for araceli!!!
i won’t say too much above the cut because spoilers, but i feel like this 5-second sprite of how she’s gonna look in the verse will tell anyone savvy enough a lot about the premise. just... take the long ears away, as she’s fully human here.
Tumblr media
in short, araceli is still anankos and mikoto’s daughter and was born in the leicester alliance. while not one of the major lords of the alliance, anankos’ family bears the crest of aubin and his daughter inherited a major crest. shortly after her husband’s death, mikoto moved to faerghus with her daughter(s, if lilith is present) and met sumeragi. they married.
unfortunately for sumeragi, whose land lay on the border between the empire and the kingdom, word got out that his stepdaughter bore a crest. ambitious as ever, garon -- whose property also lay on the border on the empire’s side -- took the opportunity to kidnap that child, kill a kingdom lord, and claim the child as his own, planning to use her crest to bolster his own name...
at the age of 16-17 (...i’ll settle on the exact number later), araceli is sent to the officer’s academy, where she discovers the truth of all that has happened to her. furious, she denounces garon and asks to be put in the blue lions house in solidarity with her mother and step-family as opposed to the black eagles. she can still be recruited into the black eagles, however.
her strengths, weaknesses, and budding talent are the same as they are in her foreigner verse.  so is her personal skill. as a student, she will require either a b support or for byleth to possess a speed stat of 15-20 and a c+ in faith.
in truth, upon learning of such a rare crest surfacing in faerghus, those who slither in the dark had the real garon killed and replaced with one of their own, who would kidnap araceli for use in their experiments. a miraculously hardy test subject, she has had a second crest -- minor dominic -- implanted within her on the first try. as a result, her lifespan has been considerably shortened.
in the event that she has been recruited into the black eagles, after the timeskip araceli will mention that edelgard has kept garon far, far away from her, and that she is grateful for it.
