#this was in response to me saying “lunar new year” on the rarity art #personal #delete later #what in insane nonproblem to get this angry about #i asked my parents (taiwanese immigrants) about this and they said we use either but prefer lunar new year #because it's inclusive to koreans and vietnamese people who celebrate on the same day #lunar new year is an umbrella term same as “happy holidays.” this person is basically getting mad i said happy holidays instead of #merry christmas.#my family and i identify more as taiwanese than chinese so. we're not gonna say chinese new year much anyways #i sent this to my mom btw and she replied with basically “die mad i guess.” love you ma #this literally doesn't matter anyways i could have said “chinese new year” to caption that post and it wouldn't have mattered #the only reason i didn't is because i plan on drawing another art including carol (coco pommel) who's korean and celebrates the same day #like. most people in china/taiwan don't care they just say “happy new year” cuz it's the fuckin new year. someone saying lunar new year is #not erasure it's not flattening asian identities into a monolith. it's just an umbrella term.#anyways happy lunar new year happy chinese new year happy tet happy spring festival happy seollal #like i cannot stress enough to you guys that these holidays are on the exact same day and celebrate basically the same exact thing.#this is not an issue.

All of kiseki: dear to me is finally available to watch for free on YouTube!! I highly HIGHLY recommend this taiwanese BL: it is the gayest of gay mafias, with boys who kiss very well and very often, and it's only a short, sweet 13 eps of 30 minutes long!

The main ship is baifan aka Bai Zongyi/Fan Zherui (or Ze Rui/Jheruei, subs differ), who have such a compelling arc from antagonistic to reluctantly charmed to giddy in love to [spoilers] to even more in love (with a delicious touch of angst)! There's an 8 year age-gap, but frankly Bai Zongyi, who's younger, has more emotional maturity than every other character in a show lol (and also ship is fictional so who cares)

So usually I like my ships deranged, but it was really nice seeing baifan grow in their a steady but still hard-won way! Also the Bai family are THE BEST, really it's no wonder Bai Zongyi is so well-adjusted haha

That said if you want deranged, chenai has your back--that's Chen Yi/Ai Di, sworn mafia brothers since childhood. Ai Di has been pining for Chen Yi forever, but Chen Yi doesn't find out until [redacted] and then it's Chen Yi's turn to pine until they finally fight and kiss and cry their way to a happy ending. They're insane about each other and it's GREAT. These boys are willing to suffer and die for each other, and also Chen Yi lifts Ai Di like he weighs nothing every other scene, and also there's random bondage, and ALSO some truly fantastic emotionally fraught sex, like DAMN

Also there's a truly stellar cast of side characters, some you'll love and some you'll love to hate. The show sticks its landing and doesn't overstay its welcome. Also have I mentioned the inordinately good kissing? There's SO MUCH good kissing guys, seriously, please come yell with me about it

I've been making the transition these past few months, but I think I'm gonna just move back to Tumblr. My Twitter's follower-base has reached a point where I can't tweet anything casually opinion-related without it overflowing like a toilet. I post a short thread on my gripes with color design in anime and I'm getting QRT'd with "kill this guy with hammers" reaction gifs. Like, damn, this isn't fun anymore. It's not fun to talk about stuff on Twitter in general anymore. I wanted to post some ship dynamic doodles sometime there, but I know I'm gonna get weirdly aggressive takes and reactions. Monkey's paw curls, but I don't particularly like having that many followers.
