If you could relive any of your memories, which would it be?
THIS is the blog we were expecting it for. /gen nm typing quirk Right. This'll probably be a long one, because this isn't specified for any one alter, so under the cut will just have every alter with source talking about memories they'd like to feel again. I'll organize them as best I can, but you know how it goes.
POKEMON ALTERS
Damocles (Glitchy Red Ryan) - Right. Well. I have--a lot of source. I am based off our main timeline version of our Glitchy Red, Ryan (not the host, he stole the name before I arrived.). A memory I'd like to relive is...both a lot of them, and also none of them. I try very hard to stay separate from my source, so really the things I remember SOLIDLY are the bad stuff that give me phantom pains and make me just. Not have a lower jaw for a bit. That being said, I can think of a few. I remember once in source, Character Steven as it were took me out to see the sunrise one morning. Nothing happened, we just sat in silence in the chilly morning. It was...nice. The other, less romantic one would be when I was a professional Pokemon Breeder. My southern ass was so content telling people to fuck off with my 800 dogs it was GREAT. Doomsday (Houndoom)- BARK! Gambit (Jolteon) - pbfbtbtbtbt
Gold (Self Explanatory) - Aw, jeez, uhm. I guess winning the champion match was cool! I really miss that. I miss battling in general :( I DONT miss mt silver tho that place was CREEPY n cold. Not a fan.
Mewtwo -
KILLING THE MEN WHO MADE ME. Mike (Mike Strangled Red) - Sorry, I just got here, and most of the source I remember right now is uh. Dying. That being said, I really enjoyed completing the Pokedex (before THAT) as a whole project. Me and Bill worked on it together--simpler times. Steven (Steven Strangled Red, Custom Story Source)-
I miss feeding Miki breakfast, both the Charizard and the fat calico cat. Does that count? I liked my pokemon....god. My friends...I want to see my pokemon one more time.
Pyrrhic (Demon Possessing Steven)- CONSUMING THE SOULS OF THE INNOCENT. And also my human life before the cartridge, I suppose. I miss that...feeling. The things I did in that world. Rocket (Team Rocket Character Ryan Who also got horribly mauled by his Steven) - I miss my timeline before the distortion world. Yeah, Samson was bad, but at least everything wasn't. AS horrible. My timeline SUCKS, doesn't it. Shit. Uh. I guess I don't have anything specific in that case. Void (Character Ryan that killed God to take his throne) - I don't miss being a God much, I won't lie. There isn't much there for me to talk about in this case. I miss being HUMAN, more than anything. As much as I am TECHNICALLY human NOW, It doesn't FEEL like it. And I kind of miss--knowing. How to be human. In a weird way, I miss watching the fragment of my humanity learn and grow as a real, normal human. Unharmed by the sins of our father. Perhaps something like that.
TTRPG ALTERS
Alexander (Custom World, Pathfinder 2E Wizard Psychic Gnome) - I wish I could see the Eldars one more time. I wish I could make up for the mistakes that I made. But Reliving is not the same as ALTERING. Aegis (Savage Worlds RIFTS, Lyn-Srial Techno-Wizard) - I would like to see my Warband members one more time, like that night before I became a coward. Drinking and Laughing before the ceremony--like nothing bad could ever touch us. I wish it was that simple. I wish I could rewrite what I did before. Despite what I've seen, I struggle to not see the humanity that has followed as Lesser Beings, sometimes. And I wish that was a mindset I could stop at will like so many other thoughts that cloud my mind.
Phantom (1) (Traveller, Resident/"Noble" of Drinax, Psionic) -
Dude that timeline SUCKED. Never ate, never slept, always on drugs, and THEN I became psychic? Fuck. I do miss performing live, though. I was a popular rockstar back then, you know! Or. In that timeline, I guess. That was always fun! Then the voices got me. But, hey, who's counting!
Dark Arts (Traveler, Vargr) - I miss slaughtering my enemies and stealing what was MINE. And perhaps the Passenger Princess who "Employed" me in the end was fun to tease. She was so ballsy, for a rich human! We went gambling, one time! Rigged it. My friend J-Dawg went and purposefully got his ass beat before wrecking someone when all bets were on the other guy and we bet TONS on him! So many credits! Enjoyed Princess. Enjoyed J-Dawg. Enjoyed Crime.
OTHER SOURCES (Youtube CUs, ULTRAKILL, Ace Attorney, Detective Grimoire, Metroid, FNAF, "Dice, Camera, Action!",)
YOUTUBE ALTERS
Anti (Antisepticeye) -
I miss being able to be a menace LET ME OUTTTT LET ME FRONTTTTTTTTTT--
Dark (Darkiplier, custom RP universe) -
I miss my husband tails. I miss him a lot. I'll be back. /ref
As "funny" as that joke answer may be, it's not much of a real one. I miss my wedding night. My husband, John, was always antisocial, to say the least, and neither of us have a lot of real family we'd want to see at a "REAL" wedding. Being what we were, being married in the eyes of the law or "God" meant nothing. So instead we stayed home. We watched movies with the kids and ate snacks. It was a lovely night. I miss them.
Phantom(2) (Phantom NWTB, Custom RP universe) -
I miss being a DRAGON more than anything these days. Yes, I miss my husband and my children, but that ship has sailed and I have moved on. The wound may sting, but it will heal in time. I do miss being able to sit in lava baths and breathe fire, though. And being good at fighting. And being able to change my gender at will. I miss being a demon/dragon, how about that?
For specific memories, I guess I miss being able to flirt freely. Beyond, of course, relationships in reality being what they are, I cannot do that, nor is a traumatized 19 year old female body the IDEAL place to start flirting with anyone I find interesting.
ULTRAKILL
V1 -
I miss being so athletic! I enjoyed being able to jump and run so freely. In that world, nothing mattered but Objective. Is it wrong for me to say it was so freeing?
Of course, not that morals ever played into what I did. I was a machine made for war, after all. That simplifies those things quite a lot.
Gabriel -
There is not many memories I would want to relive. There is many memories I am FORCED to relive, forever. Like a beast hunting me. Stalking me. Safety is never assured, but it never strikes to its fullest power. Always watching.
ACE ATTORNEY
Phoenix Wright -
I miss being a lawyer dawg
Miles Edgeworth - I want to relive a time in which there WASN'T "ALMOST CHRISTMAS MEANS IT WASN'T CHRISTMAS" floating around as a "meme" constantly. /sar
DETECTIVE GRIMOIRE
Grimoire -
The literal first day I showed up as an alter our partner systems host explained Yaoi to me instantly. It's not relevant but I have to get it out there. Anyways as far as "reliving" memories go, I guess I want to relive when I was a detective, yes, but for less...grim, cases, pun not intended? When it wasn't about murder and crime and revenge. Susie -
I should be at the club, bestie. I want to be at the club. /ref
Hawkshaw - I wish to relive a time when my reputation was not tarnished by some murderous hag who used my image to forward her scheme. Does that suffice?
METROID
Metroid - My source is a joke I won't lie. Uhhh. I miss Gron, my metroid brother, does that count? I wanna relive fucking around with him and being annoying to the rest of the swarm.
FNAF
Michael Afton - Uh. Have you seen my source? None of it is good. None of the above.
"DICE, CAMERA, ACTION!"
Paultin Seppa -
I miss my wife tails. I miss her a lot. I'll be back.

just hangin around over there, havin a crisis, you know how it is
a little concept art from an au i had in mind where bench trio were sent to a boarding school right before the end of the world and were kind of... left there?
lore dump below because i literally cannot contain my Thoughts
the apocalypse in this case is the return of magic which started changing people and animals to “adapt better” (i.e. hybrids, minecraft flora/fauna like piglins or endermen, as well as magic users like wizards or nature spirits). many wealthy families escaped off-planet in space programs as to escape the magic field centered on earth and left behind everyone else to survive on their own. its is basically that minecraft post-apocalypse theory makes life 1000% worse but i control the lore.
the survival rate of magic is very low because biological restructuring can go very wrong with many people going mad or straight up dying terribly. but children to young adults have a significantly higher chance of surviving due to how their bodies are changing through adolescence. as such many of the kids in the boarding school are still around and surprisingly, life goes on pretty much as normal. well, normal as it can be for the end of the world.
little snippets i have:
being hybrids is not just one animal (single species hybrids come many generations later when magic has mostly settled into people’s systems) so most people are a contrasting (and sometimes fatal in you're unlucky) mash up of things
tommy has hyena/raccoon/broadly avian dinosaur features, tubbo has alpine ibex/hooded pitohui, and ranboo has a whole ton of things including gecko/heracles bettle/cat (little meow meow)
techno has eurasian boar/thor’s hero shrew, wilbur has some nightingale, and so forth
bench trio are all roommates due to being in the same year. they were about fourteen when it started and it’s been three years since. they bond over their mutual dislike of the gross canned food they’ve been given as rations and their shitty parents who basically left them behind.
their reasons for being here initially were “arson” “being the get-away driver in a robbery” and “wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy
sbi in this au is a book club made by phil (who is the english teacher and one of the only ones left on campus) after he got tired of watching tommy, wilbur, and techno fall asleep in his classes. they still meet up every week to read and discuss literature even through the literal end of society as we know it.
side note: tommy’s favorite book they’ve read so far is animal farm
there is a watch to keep a radio lookout for threats like militias who want to study and experiment on the survivors or actual monsters (they haven’t seen any yet but it seems inevitable)
the watch is composed of sam (the former robotics captain), eret (class president at the time), and a rotating schedule of a few others who want to help out
there is an open position for class president after eret leaves it that tubbo ends up running for which causes lots of havoc as well as a rift between himself and tommy who is more inclined towards techno’s belief in no government
wilbur runs the theatre club and somehow manages to direct and perform plays while the world is ending, no one knows how
au ranboo is based off the osmp version of his character pre-memory loss

Nick Arcade | The 90s Show That Put Kids Inside Video Games - Retro Gami...
I always had an idea for a reboot of my favorite Nickelodeon Game Show of all time, I call it “Nick Arcade Restarted”
the show would have Phil Moore returning to host (since he still has the energy and spunk to do it), Mikey and the Video Zone would have a more 16-bit look to it (while still working the same way and still having the enemy animations for Mikey), and the style of the set would kind of be the style of an old school retro arcade, with all neon and brick walls while still having the colors of the original 1992 show, and the music would consist of retro techno beat, think something out of "The Splat" on TeenNick
the game would play the same way as before (with Mikey, Video Challenges, Puzzles, and of coarse the Video Zone, which would all work the same) just with a few added stuff to it to make it more interesting:
including the face-off game that is played in the beginning of each round won't be games the studio made up, it would be multiplayer modes actual video games from the NES, Super NES, Genesis, Sega Saturn, Playstation, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Playstation 2, & Wii (I'm going with these systems because A: It fits the retro feel & B: they're more simple to play and manage) and they can include fighting or racing eachother to playing a co-op game to get the higher score in a time limit
and there would be more spaces
Commercial Rewind: where they play an actual old commercial from the 80s, 90s, & 2000s and the contestants would have to answer a question related to that, whenever it’s something on the commercial or what the commercial is supposed to represent
Video Head-to-Head multiplayer gameplay: where it's works just like the Face-Off where two players play against eachother in a video game where it’d have the team who's currently controlling Mikey choose one of the opponent’s team members to play against him in a video game that the player from the team who was in control of Mikey chooses, and that chosen player from the opponent’s team will also secretly draw a number to bet how many points the player would win after the Head-to-Head is over
more Video Challenges: to test a player's gaming skill, including the new Virtual Reality Video Challenges, that would have the player play quick VR games with the Oculus Rift (to show off the new technology) in order to win points
and a new Power-Up Square: where there's one per board, & when Mikey lands on it, it starts a roulette wheel, that the team controlling Mikey would have to stop it by pressing the button on their joystick, and depending on what it lands on, something will happen [with the roulette wheel would consist of a 10 light up spaces with some items repeating on multiple in each of them (including dud's where nothing happens and they just move on with the game)],
and these would be the power-ups:
Roller Copter: an inspector gadget-esc helicopter hat with a roulette wheel on the front of it, that the team controlling Mikey would press the joystick button to make it stop on a number between 1 through 5, and depending on what number the roulette lands on, the Copter will lift Mikey up and automatically move him that number of spaces in random directions (however, the space wouldn't be triggered, he'd just get placed there)
Defender Blaster: a raygun that can act as a one-time safeguard for the team controlling Mikey so the next time when the team that's currently controlling Mikey lands on an enemy space, it’ll show an animation of Mikey zapping the enemy with the baster and then cut to a close up of Mikey's face blowing to the blaster smiling as the enemy sits there defeated and control of Mikey doesn't move to the other team
Spring Shoes: shoes with springs on them forces Mikey to automatically jump to another open space that hasn't been turned into a bomb yet, and that's determined by the team controlling Mikey pressing their joystick button at the right time as the marker moves to random spaces very fast (but again, the space wouldn't be triggered, he'd just get placed there)
Auto Bomb: a bomb that automatically triggers a Time Bomb puzzle for the team controlling Mikey
Slot Tokens: 3 golden tokens that automatically turns the screen into a slot machine, and the team controlling Mikey would get to roll said slot machine 3 times (by stopping the slots by pressing the Joystick button for each row) in order to get certain matching pairs to try to gain bonus points to their score
Pocketwatch Portal: an old fashioned pocketwatch that sucks Mikey right back to the starting square of board and refreshes the squares by turning all of the Time Bomb squares back into their original squares before they got landed on, they'd still be covered up, but still be in the same place they were
also, the video zone would have two new Wizards, a Blue Atlantian Water Knight named "Marineor" & a Yellow Steampunk Wind Harpie named "Starknie" also each different wizard would have different hazards in their Wizard Level (while still having creatures and throwing energy blasts) to zap their energy (and by the way, all of the Video Zone levels would have a Floating Turning Heart for restoring energy, a Floating Spinning Hourglass for stopping time, and a Floating Spinning Stick of Dynamite to get rid of all the enemies, to make it easier) with:
Scorcha's level having flame jets popping out of the floor randomly (and you’d be able to tell when the fire is about to fire when a little fire is lit for like three seconds that doesn't do any damage, but then it has a flame jet go on for five seconds)
Mongo's level having Earthquakes that come as little waves of earth from the ladder to the edge of the screen on each of the four walkways that the players has to jump over
Merlock's level having lighting clouds from the top of the screen moving around side to side, stopping for 5 seconds to charge, then rain down lighting in a straight line 8 seconds
Marineor's level having sudden tidal waves that every 8 seconds it would have an orange Triangular Traffic-esc sign with a black explanation point on it show up blinking on top of the screen for 5 seconds in one of 5 parts of the screen each time, (the far left of the screen, the far right of the screen, the middle of the screen where the latter is, an area that's in between the far left of the screen & the middle of the screen, and an area that's in between the middle of the screen & the far right of the screen), and after that five seconds, a huge wave of water will come up and splashes the bottom floor on that part of the screen
Starknie's level having large cyclones that would pop up at the the end of one side of screen on one of the levels on one of the two sides, and it’ll slowly go towards the center ladder before it evaporates and after it's gone evaporates for 8 seconds and a new one will appear on one of the four walkways
& lastly, before the wizard level, the players would choose the difficulty of the video zone they are about to face, and depending on what difficulty the players choose, they get certain prizes from completing the video zone in that difficulty (and the consolation prizes would still be some new shoes & ether a large amount of Quik Milk Mix or NERDS Candy). and this would be the prize list:
Easy (with it being basic your basic Video Zone run)
For beating the first level: a collection of classic Nintendo Power and/or GamePro Magazines and/or player's guides*
for beating the second level: ether a Ping-Pong Table that comes with automatic ball receiving robot net, a folding basketball hoop, or a state-of-the-art Karaoke Machine
for beating the Wizard Level: a special Nick Arcade style Dave-and-Busters or Chuck-E-Cheese game card that has 3,000 game credits on it when you win it
Medium (the same as the easy, but with more enemies floating around)
for beating the first level: a classic Video Game Console with multiple controllers (and a multiplayer adapter if the system requires one to play with more than two players) and an assortment of hit games from the system*
for beating the second level: a Big Parasonic Old Fashioned TV that has a Built-in DVD & VHS Player, a Stereo Sound System, and an assortment of various DVD's & Videotapes of Famous Films*
for the beating the Wizard Level: a paid vacation trip to a big major hotel, complete with hotel commination's, airline travel, & rent-a-car
Hard (the same as medium, just with the enemies moving faster in the first two levels, and the Wizard Level having twice as many hazards at once)
for beating the first level: ether a New Laptop computer complete with a headset, PC game controller, or an Oculus Rift VR Headset System
for defeating the second level: a specially made game room consisting of two of these 4 things (a pool table, an air hockey table, a stick hockey table, or a foosball table), and three Arcade1Up Cabinets of the team’s choice
for a defeating the Wizard Level: a trip for four on a long paid expensed cruise ship getaway
* means that the announcer will tell how much the prize is worth in-case the team wants to sell it online
do you think that would be a good idea?

VR vs. Nostradamus – Part 1
Welcome to the first VR vs of the year, my weekly column where I take a look at what’s going on in the world of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and give my personal take on things as VRFocus‘ ‘third man’.
After last week’s look at Palmer Luckey’s future, which if you believe the Discord comments certainly had Oculus’ attention (ooh-er) it’s time to look to what lies before us in 2017. Because, as you all know, I happen to be a well versed techno-wizard. Able to turn people into fish and squirrels and birds and so forth. A head-mounted soothsayer-displayer with the power to see into the future. CENTURIES INTO THE FUTURE.
Also known as ‘bloke who can take a guess where things are going to head based on how last year went’.
So, in the spirit of everyone else’s ‘what I want to see in 2017’ articles I’m going to get all Nostradamus myself and give my own guesses as to what might well occur in 2017.
Scrying via my crystal ball I see… Zenimax Becomes VR’s Bad Guy
This one is pretty much nailed on. Now we’re in 2017 the legal throwdown between Oculus and Zenimax Media surely grows closer by the day. If you’re unaware of the story so far Zenimax filed suit agaist Oculus suggesting that not only did Oculus VR unlawfully obtain technology and research from Zenimax (through John Carmack), but also that a story was fabricated to make Palmer Luckey, appear to be the creator. Instead, Zenimax allege that Luckey recognised the rising popularity of VR and obtained Zenimax’s technologies for his own use.
The whole scenario has been bubbling away now since 2014 and Zenimax have been using some very strong language during the process. Their filing amendment’s initial statement outright accusing Carmack of theft. Oculus and Facebook insist the whole shebang is entirely without merit.
The process is overdue to move on and Zenimax have been pretty clear they consider all Oculus’ work by extension their own. So you now have an outsider, as it were, trying to ‘cash in’ (as Facebook put it) on VR and they don’t particularly care how much of a mess they make. Even if a judge finds in favour of Facebook/Oculus, there’s going to be a lot of damage done to VR’s reputation as a whole and no one wants that. Don’t be surprised if Zenimax file for an injunction to stop worldwide sales of the Oculus Rift. I wouldn’t even be surprised if they also took aim at Samsung and other VR providers.
Whatever your stance on Oculus, Zenimax will be the name you not-so-silently curse by the end of the year. Heck, they might end up generating a lot of sympathy for Oculus from corners of the VR fandom that have previously been very much against them.
Via crop circle analysis, aliens tell me that… Several Trillion Market Research Agencies Will Say VR’s Market Growth Has Slowed/Value Has Reduced
It’s one of my pet peeves (see: VR vs. Simply Irr-statistical) but as you know there can never be a week that goes by without some marketing organisation declaring via the aid of their statistics how much the VR or AR market is changing. (By the way, it’s growing you know…) Some sub-facet will expand by 20 billion over the next four years. 40 billion. 60 billion. Will double in value. Triple. Quadruple. Will achieve sentience and destroy us all.  One thing I do predict is, following a 2016 full of bombast, that when we next get around to some of these organisation they will dial some of this back in a similar fashion.
This will be for a number of reasons for that of course; the biggest being that more data from 2016 will come in leading to a more rounded idea of where VR as an industry is heading. Yes, headsets haven’t sold as well as people would have wanted, but none of the platform holders are particularly worried about this. Still, expect some intriguing language from these firms who oh so cleverly predicted more VR sales in 2016 than 2015 – you know, that 2016 where all the PC and console systems actually came out at retail. They’ll adjust it down. People will cluck their tongues, stroke their beards and write stories where they mutter in serious tones about “Is this the end of VR?”
The answer to which will be “no”. Much like how the answer to every other article about “Is this the end of VR?” over the last twelve months has been “no”.
Through the reading of your palm I discover you really need to wash your hands… and also see… The Debut Of Halo-lens
Minecraft this. Minecraft that. Minecraft bloody everything. It’s like Minecraft is seen as one of the only ways that something new in gaming can be explained. There’s nothing expressly wrong with that but for a franchise Microsoft is already dangerously close to over-milking we can afford a little break from it. It was the poster-child for cross play in 2016 and it still features on pretty much all the marketing material related to Microsoft’s Hololens. Microsoft showed off some very impressive technology during the latter part of last year which focused more on the home and the office (as opposed to Office) but it’s time they put a focus on the gaming again, and what better way than the use of Microsoft’s other golden goose.
It’s more than just a pun. Whilst they’ve dipped their toe in to the Halo universe previously with Warzone, (anyone remember that?) A first person Halo experience would be something fans would salivate over and be something instantly recognisable to gamers everywhere. The idea that you can “Become A Legend” would market well, and have press pounding at Microsoft’s door. Including us. It would also make sense as a stopgap near the end of the year following the release of Halo Wars 2 this February and the then wait until Halo 6: The Advertising Is Accurate This Time, Honest.
Through diligent observations of the heavens I note… A Big Name Leaves Oculus – And Jumps Ship
Considering last week’s column you may assume I mean Palmer Luckey at this point and it’s entirely possible. Whilst I went into how he is being seen I didn’t really get into how he himself might be feeling, which is an entirely different kettle of fish. Depending on what occurs with this new role at Oculus, Luckey might well consider it a good time to cash out, especially if he gets an interesting enough offer. Although saying that he’d likely want to remain so as to be protected by the Oculus and Facebook legal umbrella during the Zenimax lawsuit – and others. That doesn’t rule out the possibility of someone else, another ‘known entity’ leaving Oculus, however.  There’s going to be an increased drive by companies to acquire talent within the industry, especially with new players on the horizon in Asia, etc. Don’t be surprised if there’s some inter-company executive headhunting that occurs; and don’t be surprised if it is a real surprise as to who.
And speaking of relations between companies…
Via the cutting open of a chicken, the entrails clearly predict… Patent Wars: The Family Atmosphere Is Over
Whilst the various hardware fandoms really started to polarise in 2016, the situation between the actual businesses involved has been very jovial. Particularly on Twitter.
Each has congratulated the other on hardware launches and sales successes. Each side showcased their execs playing their rivals hardware – and even confirming when they’d received their purchase of it. There’s been open discussion over Twitter between representatives about their work and answering questions from the other side who are genuinely curious how a problem was solved. It’s all been very respectful.
Everyone has been in the same battle, fighting the same fight for the greater glory of VR… But it’s really only a matter of time before Sony, Oculus, HTC, Samsung, Google or even Razer step on one another’s toes.  The battleground? Patents. Of course it is going to be patents. Much as Zenimax are doing someone will decide one of the other companies is using a method or technology which they own and will sue. And the friendly relations between companies will get positively frosty.
Personally my money is on a Google-Samsung showdown over something relatively trivial which ends up dragging Oculus into it.
More next week on VRFocus as I turn my fantastic cosmic powers on new hardware, new games and reveal which VR manufacturer I think is going to be bought out.
