ohh man. roache has changed so much from conception its crazy. he used to be incel sexyman bait and then i relapsed and dug straight into 4chan t/cc stuff and his world expanded into a commentary/gallows humor comedy about that

the recent nurse one was based off of blink 182 obviously but also off of miss moneypenny by placebo. great song my parents are considering getting a cat and i want to name them after that song

all of them are murderers it just depends on how much youre into femdom

oh this is SUCH a question. it depends on the qualifications. like whos most likely to survive or adapt to circumstances? probably mangy she gets to live rent free with two gore filmmakers (the guy with the gun sticking out from his face is distinctly not the golfer. ive changed his design we're all good now)

look buddy im going to be entirely real. usually i either have an archetype (whether that be a trope or a character or an interesting story attached to a person irl) or i just draw me until i branch out a separate character. chek was meant to be my sona but my buddy and i kept talking about how cool itd be if he had a soldier boyfriend who was buff and they escaped from a military bioweapons experiment and he had a tumor that turned into a gun videodrome style

dramaturgy; celebrity manhunt, pre-london -- im going to make it easy on myself and skim through pre-london first, as the most divergence in this AU happens during and after the fact. part of pre-london is the pre-season itself, the celebrity manhunt special.

so action comes and goes, noah gets out of the season and remains as chris’ PA for the year break. in that time, months before it actually happens, chris finds out about the new season (with producer word both pushing for ‘more drama/engagement’ or smth along those lines, and *noahs actual involvement this time).

while something something contracts might prevent him from just outright telling noah, i’d imagine that he’d all but say there’s going to be a new season and heavily imply that noah wont be able to get out of it this time. not only that but he also implies that maybe noah should give opening up to people on the show a chance,, cause, yk, hes about to be stuck on a jet with them,, for weeks,,

of course, noah is pissed at first. but in so many weeks or whatever he begrudgingly accepts it and just resolves to throw it like usual. as for the ‘opening up to people’, he lands on owen.

owen was nice enough, genuine to a fault and the person least likely to use any of noahs bare slivers of vulnerability against him. hes safe.

[*noahs involvement within the show as something that the viewers are very interested in. he could be ratings gold and they know it.]

now im a little bit torn over the whole ‘chris’ assistant’ bit; similar to the awakeathon i would imagine it might just be missing entirely and he would be fired before the fact. or it could happen, as a way to give his on-screen character some information. as a ‘look everyone, i have Depth. stop prying into my life please’

either way, whatever. *total drama dirtbags show up, chris locks them out of the venue, they dont win any awards, bus chase etc.

^ note here, per usual noah comes off as his usual uncanny self around the cast. sierra is there as well, im sure thats Something for her. however he does take notice of one (1) alejandro burromuerto, recognizing him and focusing on him. < this comes back during introductions, where he notes his behavior towards the cast.

[*total drama dirtbags existed as the original ‘new TD season’ that noah found out about and worked on for a little bit before he finds out that it was not in fact a real show and a coverup for something else (a grab for an extra contestant for WT) < hence, he knows josé from interviews/auditions he helped with, but doesn’t know alejandro since he decided one brother was Enough]

^ and just for extra clarity on the TDD thing bc ive kind of muddled it, say noah finds out about dirtbags, helps out whatever. and then the news breaks that its a fake phish for a new contestant for an actual show — fine enough, he’s already behind the cameras, so he can just stay there, right?

no, actually. its kinda just slung at him that he has to be part of the cast (smth smth his job is threatened under ‘contractual obligation’ like its not wildly unconscionable). and he is soooo pissed off, so incredibly angry at the circumstances he’s landed himself in somehow.

< but he is aware that he cant just bottle everything up because it will spill over; chris said he needs something to his character, so maybe he can funnel his anger into playing the game a little more. as the most outlet he’ll get before he can throw it and just be done with the show entirely.

^ and then,,, alejandro.

while the actual events of pre-london remain largely unchanged, his dynamics are changed with the presence of four different variables: alejandro, izzy, owen, and sierra.

alejandro i’ll get into more later with a longer post detailing what they think of each other mutually, but im gna touch on alejandro a little; with picking off team victory and believing heather is the only person who’s noticed his facade, he just,, doesnt really distinguish noah as a threat worthy of focusing on.

^ throughout the game and the events of, he does single noah out as the most tolerable of all his teammates but doesnt offer much intrigue beyond that until *new york. (to note, he’s a lot more comfortable with [oblivious to??] noahs detachedness than the rest of the cast since that empty demeanor is p common among whatever diplomatic events hes been a part of)

izzy is someone who’s character i established mostly in the long post i had about her?? but it is worth mentioning now though that she does stick very close by to noah throughout her time on the show, and routinely interacts with him where most of the cast had given up trying altogether.

^ it builds,, a kind of rapport between her and noah?? in some way after the fact he’d recognize it as a nice, ‘i-want-to-know-more-about-you-and-also-befriend-you’ thing, but during he reacts more like a yowling cat tbh. he’s built up this reputation and facade that make people stay away from him, and now izzy wants to stick around him and threaten his defense mechanism? no thanks. (< further reasoning for why he belays insults towards her during WT under the guise of his own facade)

owen is a special case — in the bus chase before the season, noah took the time to sit by him and build up the proper beginnings of a friendship, which owen is thrilled about < during his time on island, owen was really fond of noahs quips and ‘just wished he would open up a bit more!!’,, he thinks some friends would b good for him and hes right

^ and again, owen is noahs safest option to 'endear' himself to the audience with a friend. hes so genuine and understanding of where noahs projected character falls flat, and like izzy keeps interacting and wants to interact with him where the rest of the cast gave up (and noah the person becomes very fond of owen and the reprieve their friendship offers him very quickly)

and finally,,, sierra. i actually want to talk more about the Audience as an entity in this AU in a later post and sierra ties into that heavily. as established, noah is the one cast member she just doesn't know anything about. of each blog she runs dedicated to each member of the show, his is the emptiest; the most baseless. being in proximity with the man of mystery is exciting!

^ noah still comes off as very uncanny valley to sierra and his detachedness is immediately clear. but the key difference to her and and cast is that she has the Audience perspective --- he's intriguing moreso than offputting. (and also theres definitely Something there about the meta-analysis of panopticon as an in-universe topic and how sierra would relate/connect that once it becomes clear to the cast why noah acts as he does)

[*new york (same time space as the aftermath?) as the moment when sierra prattles off information about the cast but comes up with nothing on noah that his own interest is piqued just a liitle bit, and he starts building a proper relationship up with noah as the straightmen to the cast. < also come after london is something he looks back on as a Hmm. moment wondering what noah knows about himself.

^ alejandro does believe their rapport is one-sided bc of his own facade, which i want to mention simply bc he's wrong. it is no-sided. both of them r faking.]

now getting to the episodes themselves -- minor changes/additions:

in the yukon, he doesn't try to cuddle bridgette

^ also in the yukon, he shivers less visibly than the cast (think when in cold weather you get those microtremors that really fucking hurt after a few seconds). this is only because it feeds into the android joke-turned-conspiracy for the folks watching on the aftermath set

in new york, he was not actually asleep in the carriage nor did he explicitly pretend to be. he just Kept Quiet when heather did her thing

in germany, he doesn't go up to alejandro when he falls off the platform, but he does prompt owen to ask something along a similar line [to his canon ones]

in the amazon, he's the one to point out owens absence

in paris, the line of 'this totally works on my dog' he changes to smth like 'totally works on dogs',, for his own exercise of privacy really

in the space of the jamaica aftermath, he again disappears from the rest of the cast à la playa des losers save for owen. owen gets a hello during mealtimes and hes the only one.

and finally, the episodes of 'significant' development with noahs intrigue in alejandro:

beginning before any real events of the show during introductions

^ kicked off in germany similarly to canon, emphasized by newfoundland and the grab for DJ's alliance

and cemented completely [his interest in unmasking him] in jamaica, continuing onward with london around when he discovers that alejandro is acting skittery towards him because of his own suspicions

me making actual character references vs just doodling a bunch of almost full bodies . FIGHT !!

#theyre bc i wanna make a space wizard dating sim but im sleeeepy so i might not get around to it #so i will infodump about it in the tags #its pretty simple theres not really any big high stakes unless if you go for the coworker route #bc u then actually get sacrificed or somethin like that. bc that person wnats their partner to have your position #(which is a highly sought out position that al ot of people want but it will never get specified because its funny)#(i'll actually make up the positions real name if i do end up making this)#so ummm the space wizard worldbuilding is basically just #buncha magical people. a lot of them dont end up pursuing magic too deeply and instead just learn the basics #(which is like. levitation and such)#wizards who want to study a specific pathway that isnt space usually end up doing it as a child (esp if u do water stuff bc of the physical #alter..whats it. altercations? no thats fighting. alternations i think. yea alternations)#(the physical alternations . bc ur body needs to be even More water than it was before)#(the hardest part for some people w this water stuff is just... learning to chill out a little. water is very overdramatic and u gotta learn #to keep it in shape. keep it in line. gotta compromise)#i like lee he is so cool to me . his storyline in specific is becoming a certified fire wizard #there aren't many since you have to be very passionate always . fortunately lee is that sort of person.#i mean its not 100% ALWAYS always umm. heart ablaze yadda yadda if the fire in ur heart goes out .. . you know #ooo ooO!!! so there are a few big chunks of story so far, fortunately one of my special interests is taxonomy and i have a fetish for project management [1].

basically two main eras:

- a youngish high school + summer camp setting [late teens/twenties]. most of the aesthetics here are from that part of the setting, which has a lot of ~magical stuff beyond the heart of camp.

and! an undead hospital drama, including Nurse Jim from the camp health centre.

most of the events concerning the aesthetics described in this paper [I'll lean into it, eh] take place at the summer camp through Nurse Jim's adventures leading camping trips with Mick.[5]

[5] tbh, that does kinda let me fold those two jobs into one - it seems pretty cromulent that the health centre would assign someone like Nurse Jim on long trips

#1. joey-Wednesday high school dirtbag era ft piggly wiggly [alternatively: joeypaul emo shit ft that annnoying-ass fucker in his little fag hats. [that's roughly where we'd be with this song]

#2. [few years later] summer camp that kicks off the core general events at the ~undead hospital

@in-death-we-fall do not worry joey and weds are in the hospital too, I'm just lookin over their resumes rn haha. they have a umm spotty work history yknow? like they just ghosted, you know, yeah? Weird.

my pet project with @ims0vain that is watering my crops and healing everyone's bruises <3 fit Nurse Jim and kids and probably some sad stuff but also lots of fluff.

general Scrubs-inspired hospital drama theme, but jd's Dr. acula is like, a real guy probably

mick and Jim [Bubbles and Biscuit] leading camp trips out at 2. [the general summer camp AU].

And in a more magical direction,

we have the wild magic realm of black metal where Mick is compelled to do gay shit[4]:

BUT YEAH. i found will's music on tumblr years ago and it's been a longtime favourite and a bedrock of my post-rock landscape.

part 2 of this ask

📝Process for hurt mezu drawing

here are the steps i dug out of an art server's wips channel lol

1. initial sketch

2. refine sketch. thats lines now babey. (omitted "the sleeves are KILLING ME WAHHH" stage that led to this)

3. grayscale, to use with gradient map (this is a more polished grayscale than I started with, i dug the working file out to get better images)

4. find nice gradient map (ended up being the same one I'd used for the piece i made right before. the goal is to make what's essentially an underpainting, not to color the whole thing with one map)

5. tweak and add colors that arent in the map with hard light layers & also sneak in a layer for special effect and atmospheric/ scenic perspective while you're at it

6. shading & more finishing effects. pretty much all of the shading was done with hard light layers! the only non-hard light layers I used for the shading were the particle effect layers & like one faint glow layer to fix some values. blood was done with linear burn

✨Inspiration for hurt mezu drawing

the coloring method (grayscale -> saturated gradient map underpainting -> additive color adjustments) is something I tried out with the piece i'd made right before (the one where gozu is holding mezu from behind) & turned out really well, so I wanted to keep going with it

I also wanted to draw them angstily again because it'd been a very long time. like half a year at least. angsting them is very enriching for my soul so I try to do it regularly, this one was overdue

subconsciously referenced the poses in the initial sketch from this old thing (feb 2021). i love doing this. all my for-fun works recycle old elements in some way. my favorite game is "what old art reminds me of what im doing rn" im so good at digging stuff out of my archives for it. everyone loves when i do this

the gangi-kozou panel also

i went through a "shade in bold red-orange & dark blue with hard light layers" phase in like..april/may of 2021. i still like that stuff a lot so I wanted to revisit it

💚Things you like about hurt mezu drawing

repasting the link there but the sixth image in the process is essentially the final so you can just look at that

the colors are nice!! I'm real happy with using more saturated colors n I think the warm vs cool balance works really well

the sleeves (man being dramatic on the sand meme)

no like fr look at the 2021 piece's kimono sleeves vs the one I just did 2.5 years later. so satisfying

Gozu's expression came out nice

i think the claws and flash lines successfully added Emphasis to Gozu's expression & the piece overall

the poses … the drama …. the brush textures are also good

⏳Things you’d do differently with hurt mezu drawing

add in a liiitle more contrast...aka use a wider range of values. Some lighter lights and darker darks. I miss my 2021 hard neon lighting

a bit more distinction between the characters and the background also

the composition isn't bad but it could be better. Should've thought more about the way the eye would flow around the image in the drafting stage (solid b&w color block thumbnails are good for this)

Moar Sparkles. (I put a solid amount of large & low opacity light bubbles in there & some finer brighter dots especially around the claw stems, but I think more clusters of tiny bright lights on the characters themselves would've gone hard)

What's the first thing you notice about people? ummm idk. hm. i always like looking at the shoes a person in wearing. think you can tell a lot about a person based on their shoes.

Any special talents? well im double jointed in numerous places so i can do really wacky things with my thumb. i can juggle. know a few card/coin slight of hand. essentially i taught myself dumb party tricks.

Scary movies or happy endings? porque non los dos???? probably prefer scary movies though. i absolutely adore the horror genre

Where were you born? midwest, usa (midwest is best. just btw)

What are your hobbies? ummm bit of art i suppose. do a bit of rock climbing. skateboarding. idk i feel like a dabble with a lot but dont necessarily stick with everything.

Do you have any pets? my beautiful lovely amazing stunning adorable cat. sadly she lives with my parents so i rarely see her. but i count her as my precious baby girl still.

What sports do you play/have played? too many. i was a competitve gymnast for most of my childhood then i quit and went to springboard diving. love those flippy sports.

How tall are you? 5'11". hence why i quit gymnastics

Favourite subject in school? deffo history. theres just so much to look at and i think theres still a lot of different lenses we still need to examine the past under.

Dream job? honestly the gig i have right now is absolutely prime. im working as a research/academic archaeologist

currently watching: various things... im rewatching ash vs evil dead (im like halfway through season 3) and im almost caught up with bobs burgers. and this isnt very specific but im making my way through my movie watchlist mainly 80s stuff!! ive been interested in frank henenlotter movies lately so ill probably be watching brain damage soon (ive already watched frankenhooker & basket case)

other things youve watched this year: LOTS of horror movies (u can look at my letterboxd for that) umm oh yeah i started watching metalocalypse a while ago. im still not done with it that should probably go in currently watching but whatever

currently reading: final girl support group. its. ok... like i enjoy the horror references but the writing feels really out of touch and its a little annoying

this isnt in the original post but i wanted to add it, other things ive read this year: lots of stephen king, specifically carrie, the dead zone, the dark half, and christine :3 ive also read two of the stories in clive barker's in the flesh (in the flesh and the one that i forgot the name of but has candyman in it) and ive got a few nonfiction books im working through (the texas chain saw massacre companion & goth: a history)

currently listening to: choke by koffin kats!!!! one of my fav bands. im also gonna put that ive been listening to the dead meat podcast bc i think that goes here too

currently working on: a few small zines & some digital paintings/other art for my schools art night in a few months :D

mother mother has been a fave of mine for a long time smiles... i havent listened to them much in a good long while but i have been again recently haha

i am so bad at like explaining my music tastes but ill list some of my faves and link a song or two for each ill do that under a readmore though

my fave artist atm is typhoon :~) i first started listening to them bc of their album offerings which is a concept album about a man losing his memory. a lot of their stuff is concept albums but it doesnt necessarily have to be listened to all together yk. some of my fave songs are claws pt 1, never be your lover, the honest truth, new wife, and hunger and thirst

im also a glass animals head forever... have been for years. HTBAHB is my favourite album of all time and i mean that genuinely but i like their older stuff to its very unique and is a sound ive never seen anyone else come close to replicating. my faves from them... its always hard to choose because i do genuinely love almost all of their stuff haha. right now though probably pork soda, take a slice, toes, and woozy

i really like of montreal atm... i havent gotten SUPER deep into their discography but the songs i know i love. faves probably its different for girls, the past is a grotesque animal, wrath pinned to the mist, and the you i created

black dresses is also another all time fave... ive enjoyed all the stuff ive heard from their different projects outside the band as well. faves rn are cartoon network, earth worm, nausea 2019, theres nothing here worth dying for

what else do i like... radiohead mitski oingo boingo umm been listening to a lot of megan thee stallion lately.. lady lamb... ive honestly been more on a "individual songs" kick than specific artists lately so im gonna link you my spotify on repeat. all really good songs and a good chunk of them by artists that i listen to more of their stuff as well so i can recommend most of them. of the ones on here that i havent already mentioned ive been listening to a lot of post malone and saweetie but again more just the songs i know already yk... etc. hope these are good enough answers haha
