I love how Discworld's mentor characters are all deeply flawed actually. Tired of old people having everything right, I love how these ones set up the next generation with room to grow and be idealistic, even if the mentors themselves are deeply rooted in the old practices of the system they've already changed so much. Pratchett really said we should revere our elders but also seek to push past their limits

all the news going around with unity's really got me worried for games that are already several years into development like Hollow Knight Silksong and Billie Bust up.
Just rough because I don't suppose a whole lot of games are going to be able to pivot game engines, let alone so late in development. Like it is easier said than done to pivot early in development but i've been following the development of several games that are years in at this point and the fact that they're grandfathering older titles into this is just... it's just bad.
The potential loss of games in terms of archival on such a massive scale....

~🌺🌼⚘Squashed Flower Stays⚘🌼🌺~
This summer I followed a workshop on natural fabric dying or tataki zomé, or as I like to call it Squashed Flower Dyeing with a Hammer!
And me being who I am, I decided to immediately graduate from test strips into making fabric for stays.
The technique of this is that flowers naturally have pigments. If you place a fresh flower on some cotton or linen, sandwich it between some more linen and smash it with a big rubber mallet, those pigments get squashed in your fabric. You get a coloured squash print of a flower or leaf:
Then you wash your fabric in iron sulfate (your fabric goes yellow and your print goes black) white vinegar (your colours stay, reds go pink) or alun/aluin (your colours fix but go more purple).
The sad thing is, the colours fade very quickly. The fresher your leaf, the brighter the mark, but even the vibrant colours fade when they come into contact with the sun :(
Anyway, it turned out very interesting and was great fun to do for an afternoon:
Stay tuned for the turning it into stays part!
(Link here when I get to that)

taking the initiative for a change.... so i'm going to boop @four-white-trees @passthroughtime @skysquid22 @overdevelopedglasses
chipping away at sensei fic this week! here's kitakata and yagami making out lol excuse my bluntness... don't feel obligated to read if you're not into that o7
Yagami reached for Kitakata’s arm, found his hand, and guided it to his hip. Yagami pulled away from the kiss.
“Touch me, would you?”
Kitakata’s breath was warm on his lips. “Where would you like it?”
“Figure it out yourself.” He said and kissed him again. Kitakata didn’t seem to complain. His fingers slipped under the hem of Yagami’s shirt, meeting skin. He touched along the base of his spine, and Yagami couldn’t suppress the slight shiver that went through him. He could only imagine how gratifying this was for Kitakata. Hell, just seeing Yagami checking him out probably made his whole week, now this. He’d never be able to stop him from flirting now.
Yagami leaned into Kitakata’s hold, into his mouth, against that eager tongue. He was about to make Kitakata’s whole damn year.

Every day I log on and see Warriors fan artists making stories that are infinitely more complex, emotional, and sophisticated than the source material ever has been. It's incredible how such a error-riddled, flat, and continually disappointing series has led to such incredible creative vision.
