Halloween town is closer in aesthetic to a charming little new england town in or near the mountains versus the Indiana suburbs where Steve grew up

The town is a small part of a magical reality connected closely to human reality, it's a single continent but it's the size of middle america + all of north america there r separate kingdoms like in a fairytale & Halloween town is a part of the one nation tht elects its government officials & heads of state every 8 years the nation is called Gatterlean its landlocked & surrounded by mountains the capital city of Gatterlean is Fortune & Halloween town is just a small town in a county called Holday far from the glamor of the capital

Also I've decided tht capitalism is a human thing so it doesn't exist in Halloween reality

like my gosh, dont look at me, im Incredibly Emotional at how his greatest wish is.......so simple

all he wants (and how CN VA says this rlly killed me, it's so sincere and soft and genuinely as if it's like a faraway dream luke has always dreamt of and is so so grateful to be able to experience) is the simple happiness and regular things, like living together in the future. all he wants is the calm and well-worn quality of love sewn through each day of mundanity.

he wants Ordinary and Happy. no more life threatening dangers, or health scares, or grand self sacrifice straight out of a fairytale or a spy movie, none of that. he just wants a normal happy life with the one he loves, living together with 3-4 kids and maybe a dog. luke is gonna be the type to cry when mc suggests they open a joint bank account together and mc is like hUH WHY and luke's genuinely just overwhelmed tht he gets to a point in his life where this is a tiny little normal people milestone he can share with her

it's the whole concept of the peeling oranges thing that i always go feral about, it's a love so ordinary and so small you could place it in the palm of your lover's hand to disappear just moments later but thats alright because the moment in itself, in all its smallness, is added to the lifelong love, okAY OKAY IT'S LIKE....

inherent in the ordinary is transience, yknow. it's ordinary because it happens a lot, and it happens a lot because it has to be over in a bit. every ordinary moment does not last for long.

but if ordinary joys happen every single day while hes at the side of somebody he loves, well, thats exactly the life luke wants and the life he wants to get to

godfrey + marika -> i said what i said. their relationship may be over but there’s a level of still being dedicated to each other. like idk ... the idea tht godfrey was privy to marika’s plans is so intereting to me, and i feel like even though there might be some level of like “i kind of still hate you for what you did, even if you had to do it,” there r still parts of them that are like THATS MY HUSBAND/THATS MY WIFE

radagon + marika -> no bc i have so many complicated weird thoughts abt these two. i operate largely under the assumption that radagon is like, another half or another part of marika, and i find it so VASTLY interesting tht at the point tht you fight radagon, it seems like he’s the one keeping marika in the erdtree. like ... they do not like each other !!! maybe at some point both of them, pieces of each other or not, trusted one another but clearly that’s no longer the case and i feel like if they were two separate bodies still, theyd be so suffocating to each other.

rennala + radagon -> i like .... so badly want to imagine that the love and adoration from rennala was reciprocated, and i think they were to an extent, but w radagon there was always that reminder of like I Am A Piece Of Marika / I Am Marika, so he couldn’t fully return those feelings. but like i said above, whatever manner their relationship was, them breaking everything off was bad enough for rennala to be sent into such despair and anguish, and fucking radagon left their family behind as far as we know, and he also just left her with an egg? and ive seen ppl theorize (unless its like, confirmed) that the egg has their unborn child in it and its so like ...... RADAGON.......

rennala + godfrey -> a while ago i drew some weird parallels between rennala and godfrey, esp within their roles as the spouses to the marika/radagon mess, and these two kindaaaa made me lose it thinking abt them. theres this thing i noticed where like, they were both spurned and turned away by their spouses, but where godfrey was exiled and seemingly willingly left the lands between, rennala was just STUCK THERE. and there’s truly something abt the dichotomy of rennala’s grief and despair being like ... pacified(?) by the egg as she clings to it, and then godfrey’s bloodlust and rage being pacified by serosh. also how godfrey (from cut dialogue) seemed to know what marika was up to but rennala is kept in the dark and is left to succumb to her anguish. there r also dog/cat motifs (red wolf of radagon in raya lucaria vs serosh), jock/nerd dynamic, tank/mage dynamic .... the way that godfrey and rennala are both blasting Fairytale by Alexander Rybak as they think abt their respective spouses. I JUST THINK THEYD GET ALONG LOL.

rennala + marika -> jennifer’s body-ass relationship. toxic wlw homoeroticism. its the like “ur not my husband but u are him but u’d be better than him” like .... theres a level of attraction going on tht at least rennala wouldnt fully understand until she learned abt the marika/radagon situation, i think?

godfrey + radagon -> i said what i said!!!!! theyd have weird tension and godfrey wouldnt give a shit abt the radagon/marika thing on the surface but i think if he knew what was fully going on (ie the radagon keeping marika in the erdtree thing w the elden beast as punishment) he’d be pissed.

theres a certain manner of posting tht rlly bothers me in the shrek fanbase on here (if u can call jt that i guess...) its the type who considers the movies to be like. really progressive. especially when comparing them to disney movies. like. i saw one talkkng abt how shrek villians arent reductive like disney ones bc shrek villians will be transphobic aka realistic villians (this is in reference to fairy godmother's "gender confused wolf" comment). mind you thats the same movie where the UGLY stepsister is canonically and obviously a transgender woman (voiced by a cisgender man). so its not really this. beacon of progressiveness if u rlly think about it. we could also bring in the pinnochio thong scene into the conversation too if we wanted. like dont get me wrong at all im not discrediting the messages regarding love transcending physical appearance and its subversion of the typical fairytale storyline. but it just annoys me when ppl go way too hard on acting like its super progressive when it is in some cases, the opposite.

and thats not even touching shrek the musical that quite literally used the t slur for absolutely no necessary reason ._.

i spend basically my whole day thinking abt ryan ross and i jst love ryan so fucking much and his lyrics literally mean so fucking much to me tht if i have nothing else, i still have his lyrics. like i definitely have a para-social relationship with him, but its fine. anyway. camisado was literally written for me. jk i know it wasnt but it literally feels like ryan reached into the depths of my memories and beautifully crafted a song tht makes the things i hate abt my life, feel a little bit better. does tht make sense? idk. pretty. odd.’s lyrics literally feel like a fairytale. ryan shld start writing children’s books. i havent even gotten started on his voice. (for the record i suggested artemis and apollo as names but was swiftly shut down. i have a family of haters)

and yes we dont get snow here. at least my part of canada. i live at pretty much sea-level on the coast so its just rain sadly. but pretty much like. every other part of canada will see snow in the winter at some point or another !

(hey another rarepair) but fear not the series is actually good. and theres like a million sequel & prequel series within it so you dont really have time to think about the incest .

and yes podg! the movie with ben barnes is a HORRIBLE adaptation. like its so different from the book so beware. but its still mildly entertaining bc ben barnes is gorgeous so.

poutine! omg im so glad you asked me this question. in short its just french fries covered in gravy and cheese curds. a lot of people think it sounds gross/think it looks gross (it does look...questionable sometimes) but i SWEAR its so good. very good comfort food & and strangely good when you go to the movies.

unpopular marauders opinion......hmm. maybe that barty would be well suited as a ravenclaw? i know his house has never been confirmed but he canonically got 12 OWLS so the boy is SMART plus he SLAYED being the DADA prof. (not that other houses arent smart. u know what i mean) (but i still love him in the slytherin gang. they have my whole heart)

unpopular opinion about life: its okay to be weird and just silly sometimes. some people are just so caught up in being "normal" that they forget that we're all just. people. like its okay to be silly and live our lives the way we want! (maybe not an unpopular opinion but i know there are people out there that are just. really stuck up & could do well to remember this LOL)

dream car - i dont drive so IDK LOL but ive always liked colourful cars. like give me a bright red or forest green or cobalt blue car. theres a SEVERE lack of colourful cars on the road nowadays its so sad.

i havent seen the apprentice! i dont watch a lot of reality tv in general but from what youve told me about it i might have to check it out cause it sounds entertaining.

ever broken a heart: i think i did indirectly whoops. but luckily only once. long story short one of my friends liked me on & off during high school, i got confrontational while heavily under the influence and told him i didnt like him that way. he DID ignore me for the rest of the year but yeah. the rest is history. i think he came out as gay recently so. good for him!

I have a group therapy thing later on this morning but I've been up for hrs n started thinking of all the shitty things my ex did. Just feel betrayed n empty after what happened and the way it went. I was reading an old msg from a girl who asked me to stop talking to him.

I never spoke to her or replied (at the time he was dating me lol n I'd msged her bk b4 saying I'd been with him for 7 or 8 yrs n she'd just went all delusional n odd at me for tryna say he was technically fking with both of us cos he'd claimed he weren't seeing any1 else n I already assumed but was in way too deep for tht like I utterly adored him despite how stupid it was to ofc but i didnt try to msg her bk after the first few times) but I felt rly awful knowing he'll do the same to her n just leave her stressed out after trusting sum1 tht much. I'd been with him since I was 18 n we were really really close. Around each other far too often.

I'm ashamed n trying to not cope with it in bad ways cos rn my life's going well n I've been in an entirely parallel kinda relationship for 6-7mo now n it's the happiest and most secure n comforted I've felt by anyone so far. Its like a fairytale in comparison and I'm really lucky I have that kinda support in my life cos I can't cope well alone much and I feel things intensely n get reactive or impulsive.

If I'm on my own it's bad but luckily I'm with my bf whenever I've felt like tht n I can trust him n talk to him if I need to/he'll visit me or come pick me up. Its the fact I've not had this sort of basic respect ever n thts kinda appalling n says alot about my choices in who I've dated lol but I hope I can still get to the therapy thing but also kinda don't wanna go at all ofc ahahaa *insane delusional gigglings*
