“Now,” says the person fWhip least wants to see right now, “how did this happen?”

“The well or the magic?” He grumbles. He wants to cross his arms but he’s kind of afraid that he’ll move and slip and scrape his entire back against the rocks.

Jimmy raises an eyebrow. The gesture’s only visible because of the candle he’s holding up. It makes his brown eyes glow, like honey in the sunlight—

fWhip’s been spending too much time with Pix.

“The well,” he says.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” fWhip replies. He pauses. “Not the curse?”

“My sister turned into a blue sea monster,” Jimmy reminds him. Okay. Okay, yeah. That’s… yeah, alright. “I’ve been kind of expecting the same thing to happen to me. I guess you make sense too, what with the salmon thing.”

He slows down for the last part of the sentence. Jimmy looks down at fWhip. fWhip stares up at him. He’s pretty sure they’re both pondering if Jimmy’s weird Codfather duty to kill all salmon extends to fWhip now as well. He hopes it doesn’t. He’s not even sure he’s a salmon on technicality.

Jimmy seems to agree, because he shrugs, “Should I be jealous?”

“Don’t be. It’s inconvenient.”

“Alright,” Jimmy tilts his head. “Can’t sirens thrall people? Are you going to thrall me?”

“If I could do that, I’d have told you to go drown already.”

“You tell me to drown every other day,” Jimmy reminds him, unaffacted. fWhip sighs. He must not be intimidating, trapped as he is on the bottom of a rather shallow well. “Your seal is very nice, by the way.”

“Thanks?” He blinks. “Are you recycling the wax?”

“Obviously,” Jimmy almost looks offended at the question. “You, Joel and Sausage are basically the source for all our sealing wax at this point.”

fWhip turns his head, just slightly, just so he can’t see Jimmy’s amusement. That’s… that’s a little embarrassing. He’ll have to tone down the threats through letter.

“Are you going to help me out or not?”

Jimmy doesn’t reply immediately, which worries him a little. He wants to believe their relationship is good enough right now that Jimmy won’t let him die at the bottom of a well. Maybe. Hopefully. It’s impossible to know, with Jimmy.

“Please,” he adds through gritted teeth. Surely an appeal to Jimmy’s pride will work. He really doesn’t want to die in this well. It’s cold.

“Alright,” Jimmy says. He sounds like he’s smiling. He sounds annoying.

fWhip tries very hard not to be impressed at how easily Jimmy lifts him up.

#Hatsune Miku #VOCALOID #or rather #piapro characters #Hatsune Miku Single String Ver. #<- yep that's the fan module I made for fun last year #the thing is. only half a month to go until it's mid autumn. and every year I try to draw something for the occasion #I just. started early this year... for some reason...... #well I mostly just wanna draw Her lmao. because the pokemon/miku voltage stuff is still being released and Im feelin the effect #and this year's magical miral design is so fuckign good.... thank u to miku artists. especially LAM and rella #as is always the case with this module the instrument/weapon (lol) she uses is a heavily stylized đàn bầu! #and I just realized while drawing this and looking at the ref sheets that I never detailed the pluck lmao #to be fair. usually its just like a piece of. anything #commonly bamboo or bone or plastic. shaped into a longish fingernail shape. its really the way u hold it that matters iirc #but yeah I spruced up the OG design for the instrument in this one lol. this is actually like my original vision I think #I really wanted to make that thing beast shaped. but I Just figured out how to properly stylize it when I designed the module #and! I did say this on stream but I am genuinely very proud of that design! that was genuinely big brain of me! so #future instrument variants will still probably base heavily on that general shape and principles lol. although i understand why tightly-plotted stories are, by and large, preferred by the majority of contemporary audiences, i have to say: i’ve always been more keen on meandering and polyphonic narratives. just… give me all the overly ambitious and grandiose stories with a strong sense of place, over-the-top aesthetic, ensemble cast, multiple digressions, and no conventional plot (or at least no conventional three-act structure) to speak of, and i shall be a very content woman indeed.

(& on a related note: i sincerely believe that we ought to bring back the tradition of long-winded quasi-philosophical doorstoppers originally published in monthly instalments. out with the sleek shallowness of dirtbag realism!)

zachs simultaneous karaoke guy maybe got into doing chants and tavern renditions of his favorite songs. and also considering the fact that the man accidentally sexted brendan in the opening number i think he probably already has the falconers contact info and is hoping to see them at the fair (lorenzo and d’artanio don’t own phones but luckily he happens to know a guy who trains carrier pigeons) (and his wife who sells stationery)

idk if byler made it to the fair, he may have been preoccupied trying to solve the mystery of how a mourning dove got mixed in with his pigeons and why it had a scrap of paper tied to its leg with “whoops wops widdly wops” scrawled on it

that evening there’s some musical acts down at the lake, including some boy band called Plato Could Never. no one’s super sure who they are but they’re local and apparently they’ve got killer harmonies

still marinating on vale and conflict from this post. like the press is bumble wrap to him. it’s comfortable. an arena he’s in control, where he can use his pr savvy to define himself and define other racers. so it’s like. kind of the ideal mode of conflict escalation for a guy that a. loves to be loved, b. is going through a teeny weeny (BIG.) ego crisis, and c. doesn’t want. the insane emotional risk of having a face to face conversation (about a delusion you kind of made up !) with the guy whose friendship he wants to obliterate. a story is true a story is untrue as time passes it matters less and less… like if a narrative is compelling enough it WILL become reality to a person and that’s. i think what happened here. the allure of a reality where losing in 2015 is all marc's fault.

like for me the toughest nut to crack wrt to rosquez reconciliation is a. the ego risk and b. the emotional stakes of the conversation. they are arrogant and they are stubborn! and they HATE emotional vulnerability (although i do think marc is working on that bc he do be crying all over the place in ways i think vale would rather cut off his arm than do.) like i think he’s using the press to try and put emotional distance between him and marc because his feelings are hurt and he can grasp some power back in a situation where he feels very very powerless. which is crazy bc marc is innocent free my girl he was chilling!!

and it’s interesting that he treats it like a personal betrayal/divorce (cutting him out the same way he did with his dad) and also like a professional betrayal (immediately takes it to the press) but! the one place he is NOT. able to heavily mediate the situation is on the track. where marc handed his ass to him six ways to sunday and got karate kicked about it. which is deeply NOT a chill guy valentino rossi move. why did he do this you say well marc is annoying. but! he also is now a beautiful little symbol of failure and hurt and ego and BETRAYAL. if we believe that vale believes his own delusions at the time which mostly yes i do. mostly. so yeah. conflict! fine on track. off track big flashing lights DANGER. (Partial explanation/partial rant in regards to q!BBH’s famous Dodging of the Question)

Um okay here we go

q!Bad is not being manipulative, or playing with Forever’s feelings like q!Baghera says - or at least he’s not doing it intentionally.

CC!Bad confirmed that his character is extremely oblivious. He even said that he was taking an “aromantic approach” to his character. Granted, q!BBH is not canonically aromantic, but he is definitely aro-coded. I really relate to him because his confusion surrounding romance mirrors mine as an aromantic person. And I’ve had people call me manipulative, for this exact reason.

This isn’t me going after q!Baghera or anything - she has never done anything wrong ever! But she is, however accidentally, very much representing how society and alloromantics don’t really understand the aro experience. At least from my perspective.

… I don’t know, it’s disheartening to see people on twitter claiming that q!Bad is being malicious when he clearly isn’t purposefully trying to hurt anyone. CC!Bad is doing a pretty good job of representing my experience of being aromantic even if he’s not trying to, and it sucks to see people holding this against his character even though I did kinda expect it.

And I kinda understand to an extent, because CC!Bad does know what Baghera means so I can see how it comes across as him toying with the idea of 4halo because he is, but the character isn’t.
