FUCK tumblr reloaded</3 anyway there’s not really any plot so far except for the pd guys it’s mostly just I wanted to see how their powers would work as mutations. it’s a “crossover” in the sense they’re all in the same universe but they’re all doing diff things to fit with their campaigns a bit more

putting under the cut bc it is kinda long o(-( just gonna focus on pd bc it has the most plot/info but feel free to ask about the others!

disclaimer that this is based on the movie universes but I’m really only taking the basics

william wisp has a mutation known about from birth where he can “ghost shape” things. basically he can manipulate energy from the spirit world. as he grows up and experiments a little, he realises he can also use that energy to turn intangible/invisible. everyone jokes about him having ghost powers

there is an unknown “revival” aspect to this mutation which he doesn’t figure out until he dies. basically he gets a second chance at life etc etc but he needs energy of sorts to sustain himself now. also he can go into his “wisp form”. basically he’s like. entirely made up by the energy he used to manipulate but shoved into a human body. it’s like dying “completed” his mutation. I think he has a similar deal to rogue where he recharges based on touch but can also eat souls. he can sap people’s energy etc etc. if they’re a mutant, he can temporarily gain their mutation. if he takes their soul it’s permanent (that smoke samurai ghost) his decaying rate is at the same speed as in canon

his parents are human who were a little worried about the whole thing but trying their best? after William dies and comes back they send him to Xavier’s school

Dakota was a human who got mutant genes injected into him via experimental surgery. it’s based on Wolverine’s so he has some kind of regenerative ability but because the doctor tried to isolate it from other aspects of Wolverine’s mutation (claw hands) it’s a lot weaker + he ended up with super strength (I imagine that was somewhat the doctor trying to combine Logan’s mutation with another to make it work better? who fucking knows). his powers are exactly like in canon but it’s not bc of a “super heart” it’s in his dna. his bones still have issues and his body is still set to decay later on bc no one’s ever managed to successfully give the mutant gene to humans. the doctor is also put in jail and all his research is seized and destroyed bc the government doesn’t want ppl like magneto to catch on and replicate it

this does make Dakota a Prime Target for kidnapping and experimentation o(-( so he has to keep the fact he wasn’t originally a mutant a secret. he also bonds with Vyncent and William for that reason but won’t tell them why at first. the name change is the same in canon but it also happens legally - so people can differentiate Dakota Damascus the Human and Dakota Cole the Mutant legally making it a bit harder to find out what happened

he does go and train with that guy still but xavier’s school hears about him from the government (they are complaining and threatening mutants bc of it) and ask him to come with them (before magneto can find him)

Vyncent is an alien still his situation is the same but he’s classified as a mutant by society etc etc esp bc they can See him physically changing. he’s classified as having some kind of morphing ability

xavier’s school gets him outta jail and basically take him in with his consent. which is where he meets the others. he feels really left out bc he knows he doesn’t actually have a mutation like everyone else and ends up connecting with william bc william is personally outcasting himself bc he’s scared of his newer abilities

Ashe: Idk how much to canonise “the spirit world” in x-men universe but let’s just say yeah. Ashe is a mutant with a dormant gene. it allows him to make portals to the spirit world and summon spirits out to help. when it first happens she can only do the first bit though and can’t control the spirits and yeah her mum dies. mark does Not send her to xavier’s school bc he kinda hates charles for how much he bends to the government’s wishes. he’s part of magneto’s whole deal but doesn’t want Ashe to be a part of that. anddd he knows how badly it’ll go if Ashe gets clocked as a mutant in society so he gets Ashe to stay in the house forever and ever

-ALSO bc Dakota has accelerated healing he offers for William to take his energy and recharge a little once it starts becoming obvious that he Actually Needs That. william doesn’t accept until he’s actually desperate/dakota forces him to

-I think william Vyncent and Dakota are part of the “x-men in training” crew and tide specifically is the person training them. they go on their first mission as normal which is where they capture wavelength. The school gets attacked by the government(/magneto’s gang? I can’t remember atm if they ever attack the school) in an attempt to retrieve wavelength which is what sends the pd gang to his house where they meet Ashe. tide isn’t taken to the spirit world or anything but he is badly injured

Oh wow thinking about the time when rolan got replaced really mattering to his story. Like if he got bugged when he was 14ish then he was really that much a bug as a human. He was so young and what did the bug know to copy, but what did the bug just make up. If the real Rolan deep was still alive how different would he be from the version the bug made up. Rand fell in love with the bug, and his parents raised a bug never being any wiser of it.

With that in mind, the idea that he got bugged at 17/18 makes a bit more sense. A bug wouldn’t plan to run away from the hive, but he was already at the point where it would be suspicious if he didn’t leave. Rand and Kian didn’t have a chance to notice his differences and strange habits, nor did his parents. He got bugged right as his childhood ended. The real rolan deep never made it out of Galloway, he was so close, just a few more months or mere weeks. But no he died and was born again, but wrong as an adult.

what’re your thoughts on williams dad bc there’s so much going on with that guy but so little at the same time

my thoughts on williams dad. well. i certainly have a lot of them. i think hes mad sus but i ALSO think it could all just be a crazy series of coincidences and hes actually connected to something entirely different. because all we know about williams dad is. uh. last name wisp. hes an accountant, probably. likely remarried but im also not 100% on what the situation there is or what happened to williams birth mother, if anything (that is a whole different ramble that i literally have no answer to). he has... things going on. what things? no clue. likely something to do with deadwood but like 90% kf that info comes from this

so. "thats different" is. yeah. i do think theres some sort of town conspiracy going on but thats not Wholly founded on anything bc i dont have exact quotes for williams talk on deadwood from e24 or whenever it is. just bc if lots of people are disappearing and theres NO heroes at all theres gotta be something deeper... but william also doesnt inherently distrust cops since he has connections by the time s2 rolls around though ofc that could just be him realising oh npt everyone is the smalltown sherrif who pretends nobody is missing because he doesnt want to deal eith the Creatures <- again all specualtion we literally just dont have enough to go on OH GOD IM RAMBLING ABOUT DEADWOOD FUCK. yeah i think hes involved with that conspiracy also.

the most sus things about him thats hes actually DONE was try bring william back to deadwood. sure theres mal copyijg his phrase and the eyes in the hall of fearrors but like. condi literally said all the characters probably have dead family (william is up for debate but he also Was dead) that mal or ghoul couldve gotten information from in some way, the way mal showed vyncent an illusion of fauna. but like... william SAYS that his friends will die if they ever see him again. even assuming hes exaggerating bc of his curse (attracts supernatural monsters, which the woods are full of) going back still isnt SAFE like at all. for anyone.but william also never says "my family will die" and his dad doesnt seem at ALL concerned for their personal safety when he takes william back - hes worried BECAUSE william is in danger. which makes me think maybe wills family is ?? immune??? or knows how to ward them off?? literally the best i got i think its the most cohesive thing i could come up with

what’s the premise of your bitb longfic if u don’t mind me asking ?

okay so!! it’s affectionately dubbed the haunting au/haunting fic but that won’t be the title. named that because the premise is rand is the only one who survived - but kian’s haunting him. he treks it over to kian’s house in Hollywood and is staying there meanwhile kian’s ghost is hanging out

there is an overarching plot (i have come up with ghost mechanics yayy) but the majority of the first chapter is pretty much just rand and ghost!kian hanging out -> neither really coping all that well with their situations but trying to make the best of it. also it’s rand pov!

based this on umm i got this info secondhand so forgive me if i’m getting anything wrong but in so 4 wasn’t he just straight up talking to a hallucination of kian or something? and then rolan could hear him too shrug idrk but yeah based on that :]c

i’ve been writing this since ep 4 came out o(-( but we’re getting close!

some spoilers for bitb ‼️‼️ sorry for how long this is I like thinking about rolan.

rolan looked like a Huge nerd in highschool. like. big ass glasses, crappy little patchy facial hair. the works. (ty to @tragicfaggots for this one + inspiring me to make this post)

rolan meets kian first, they work on a history project together in 8th grade history

at some point kian sneaks out of class, dragging rolan along with him, to meet with rand

rand doesn't think too much of rolan but after kian keeps bringing him around he warms up to him

they really bond when all rand and rolan discover they both have a love for dnd, and it's history from there (they drag kian into it soon after)

rolan smoked in highschool, which is why rand and kian react so surprised in the first ep when rolan says he doesn't smoke. also the reason he gets back into it once shit starts Going Down

during college he had a few relationships, mostly nice girls he met in class but also a few guys in secret (spreading my fruity rolan propaganda)

speaking of that, kian and rolan like. gaydar each other. one of the many reasons kian takes to rolan so much.

kian first confides in rolan after he had that experience with the football player, rolan makes fun of him for getting with a football player but actually supports him all the way

rolan shared an apartment with a few other college students during his early years at law school

they had a cat that rolan found that he convinced them to let stay

the cat, named Zeppelin after rand, doesn't trust rolan AT ALL on account that it can kinda sense that he's, y'know, a little buggy.

zeppelin eventually comes to trust rolan and absolutely Loved him, zeppelin comes with him when he gets his own apartment after becoming a lawyer fr

rolan was the nerd in highschool who didn't go out too much, aside from the party that got rachel killed, but in college he let himself be more free and go out more

the first time he drank alcohol he was puking for Days and super out of it

bro just thought that he couldn't handle his alcohol/was a lightweight, but no he was just A Bug. he eventually did build a tolerance to it through small drinks at parties

rolan met most of the men he saw at those parties, never really at school

rolan Loves fruits and flowers, this is made more extreme after he's bugged at the lake and his bee brain is attracted to the sweet smells/tastes

literally everyday at school mans could be seen eating fruits as snacks, mostly berries

rand always bought rolan strawberry ice cream after he realizes, rolan eats it at rand's house whenever he came over

rolan still ate that ice cream in college and it always reminded him of rand

he always got sad, he ate the ice cream whenever he felt bad as a comfort food, but everytime it reminds him of who he left behind in Galloway. always makes him a little homesick, for his parents and for his best friends

especially the one who always bought his that same strawberry ice cream, the one who probably resented him for leaving.
