one night I was thinking about Will getting a tattoo of the Aztec coin on his shoulder as his first act of piracy and then it turned into what if Jack and Esmeralda were to co-parent him after his parent’s death (while looking for the Pearl maybe)? Or what if it was Esmeralda who found young Will after Barbossa attacked his ship instead of Norrington? It’s weird but now I just can’t get the idea of Esmeralda and Will as mother/son out of my head!

well anon i’m .. not sure i can ever see them as a mother/son dynamic myself, since @himbohotel and i write them as a ship, but if that floats your boat go for it !  in a canon timeline that does absolutely make sense, though I will say I could see Esme adopting him on her own before I could see her trying to co-parent with Jack.  she’s maternal af, but he’s  ...  not.  will already has one dad that left him and fucked off to sea he doesn’t need two.
