As I'm listing these down I genuinely forgot I saw half of these this year let alone that most of these were released this year. Isn't time a funny concept.

For the purposes of the next part I'm going to ignore the ongoing BLs

Favourites of the year

Favourite BL: This one has a lot of competition tbh. But if I had to pick one it would be Semantic Error. I had read the manhwa before and I didn't find out about the BL till it started airing. I was pleasantly surprised with a Korean BL coming in with the heat and the sexuality crisis and not to mention Jaechan pushing the smartest marketing ploy to get DKZ relevant (so glad about the rebranding).

Favourite Couple (on screen): Another toughie, but i think i have to give this one to Aye and Akk from The Eclipse. First and Khao did an amazing job. I was soooo excited about Khao's acting debut in a main role since 1000 stars and boy did he deliver.

Favourite Pairing (actors): (side note: i do not ship the actors IRL, I just think their chemistry on and off screen was off the charts good) Fort and Peat. This one is a easy give for me because I didn't even expect to like LITA, the second half of it floored me.

Favourite unexpected pair: I am very late to the game for this one but Korn and Intouch from Until We Meet again win this one. i have seen Kao in Lovely Writer, but it was my first time seeing Earth act. And both of them brought their A game and they are the reason Dean and Pharm's story stands a chance (don't come at me).

Favourite story: Light on Me. I was sleeping on this BL. But in my defence I only watched Thai BLs till this year. Light on me surprised me in so many ways. The gentleness with which they dealt with their feelings, the setting, the awkwardness. It was all just really endearing.

Ok, but can we appreciate Win for a second? Poor thing puts up with sooo much.

First of all, he has to sit through his friend being all strict and uptight all the time.

He randomly gets lost in this other random dudes eyes FROM ACROSS THE POOL AREA INTO THE SITTING ROOM.

Then scolds Win and his crush while they're eating treats after swimming, despite himself eating two.

He breaks his 6-month no-status, no post streak FOR A BOY HE HAS YET TK TALK TO.

He for sure lost his academic work but had it magically returned.

He uses Wins future boyfriend as some sort of delivery service for OJ.

Win then goes to buy water at the supermarket and this motherfucker somehow, within seconds, disappears into the pulses aisle and then boom, he has a crying boy in his arms. Like wtf??? And then he had the gall, the absolute audacity to yell at Win for interrupting it, like caressing the face of a boy you've never met is a normal thing that people do? And As if he doesn't know who Pharm is and will never see him again, instead of just asking Team like a logical person.

Point is, Win is the King of Patience.

So, I'm really confused right now.

This was obviously not the direct scene from uwma that i thought it was going to be. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but... Well. A lot of things!

To start off, as someone who had just watched umwa because I wanted to watch between us, whatever little of Team and Win i got in the show i was eating up. The thing about the kanchanaburi scene in uwma that stood out to me especially after watching between us is that it's the first time Team initiates a kiss between the two of them that's not meek and followed with a frown. He basically tells Win he wants him.

I am glad that Team wasn't drunk for this as he was in uwma. I also kinda agree with Team's perspective (that we saw in the preview for ep11 coz let's be honest this ep i was just confused) about Win being a caretaker by nature. It's hard to recognise if you're special to someone who spends a majority of their time taking care of others and you happen to be someone in need of care. It's a very real and all consuming fear to feel like just another burden to someone you are in love with.

But, Team, bestie, he literally said he wants what you have to be real. He asked you not to get scared. But he still wants to give you an out. A relationship should be consensual, as Win has exemplified time and time again. You staying means nothing if you're not allowed to leave. The answer back then in the locker room and now has always been about if you get bored.

Man really promised not to run away and proceeds to forget the promise in less than a minute.

Like i said though. I really want to see Team's insecurity addressed. Win's intentions addressed. But it could have still been done after they got together. In fact, it would have been a lot more interesting for it to happen after they've gotten together.

Also, now our supercut is gonna be more complicated. Are these two really just gonna go back to playing around in the waterfall after this kind of heart break? You're telling me Team will not try to actively pull away? You're telling me Win is going to let Team pretend like everything's back to the way it used to be when my man hasn't been able to wipe that worried look of his face when Team is near water for the last 4 episodes???! Him?! Really?!

But hey! Let's see what happens. Still rooting for our broccoli couple 🥦

Remember Me has been making me cry since last episode.

Name, finally opening up with Em and even speaking with his other friends is heartwarming. Don't know the reason for his mom's action in the past, but hope they talk about it and he would be completely able to overcome his fear.

Champ has always been my favourite. Him finally letting his tears fall made me tear up. (And Em being there for him was great! It showed, though he might not be with them every time, he is always present for his friends). Hope his relation with his family would mend soon. Both him and his family were right in their own place.

Nuk Nan, tbh his hairstyle raised trust issue for me 🤭 But never judge a book by its cover. He went extra extra mile to reach to Chomphu. His Dad is super cool too, encouraging him to find his love first before anything.

Was really upset with Em when he didn't defend Name but his sincerity won over again.

Can see Golf and Gun would have to go through some strom but hope things turn out fine again soon. Both their parents and all their friends being supportive of them is sweet.
