So I have a new favourite Rimworld pawn.

Meet Wart.

Wart is 11 years old. Wart is a pigskin- essentially, a pig furry. Wart follows a horrible pigskin-supremacist, bug-worshipping raider religion. And like most 11-year-olds, Wart thinks she is the smartest person in the room, at all times.

Unlike most 11-year-olds, Wart is right.

A few years ago, Wart wandered away from her clan and got lost in the wilderness. She got taken in by a tribe of friendly Neanderthals who are taking their first stumbling steps toward living in a society.

They adore her. They love all her cool radical ideas, like "perhaps we should not shit where we eat" and "have you heard of this newfangled thing called a table". Even after a couple of baseliner humans joined the colony, everyone still treats her like a genius.

Wart, being part of her bug-worshipping pigskin-supremacist raider religion, hates fucking everyone.

She's sticking around because these folks feed her and treat her well and practically worship her as a goddess at this point. (And because I won't let her leave; she's cute.)

im doing some redraws of some of my favorite scenes in my comfort animes bc my brain is too fried from ✨life stressors✨ to think about doing original content stuff, and because its soothing to just not have to think too much about what im doing.

there is however a thought in my head where, after victor!ludger refuses to kill violet-eyed elle, they find out they're fractured anyway, and ludger doesn't really care as long as he can continue living with elle and julius for as long as they have

but bisley wants to use elle to reach the prime dimension, and the party don't exactly like the thought of using a 10 year old, but elle wants to help and knows what's at stake, but ludger is just. not having it. elle is elle, she's not something for bisley to use, he just wants to be left in peace with her, he can't trust that she'll make it out that journey alive, that prime ludger will protect her the same way he did. his use of the chromatus already caused elle to start becoming a catalyst, if she has to use her key powers in the prime dimension, to complete the trial, what if she disappears before he can see her again?

and elle can tell ludger is pretty upset, especially when he starts arguing with julius and things get worse with the party and bisley attacks them while everyone's trying to convince ludger to let elle go, but ludger isn't actually strong enough to kill everyone on his own and is vastly outnumbered, and elle is so freaked out and scared and she wants to be able to protect ludger, and you know, artes are based on intent, and elle just wants everyone to leave them alone---

anyway, there's a thought in my head of newly CEO ludger, meeting up with the king of rieze maxia in private, and there's a tension going on between them all, but most importantly a little girl with violet eyes who looks up at the injured king and says she's sorry.

Doing the Math

Seems there's a lot of chatter about how much Joseph Quinn makes at a con. So, I thought I'd do some "guesstimation" math to maybe bring some perspective to the conversation.

Let's use the Vancouver Fan Expo as our Con.

Joseph Quinn is set to appear on both Saturday and Sunday at the VFE. So, two days. According the Vancouver Fan Expo website, an Autograph signed by Joe is $100.00 and a photo op with him is $125.00.

Now, let's say everyone who plans to attend the con to see Joe will pay for both an autograph and a photo op with him.

Let's assume that 500 fans show up each day for both days of the con. That's 1,000 people and each one of them is paying $225.00 for both an autograph and a photo with Joe.

500 fans each day X 2 Days = 1,000 Fans

$225.00 per fan = $112,500 per day X 2 Days = $225,000 that JQ would bring in over that weekend.

Now, let's breakdown what his team's cut would be

Manager - 15%

FanExpo - (I've tried to find an accurate percentage of what their cut is, but couldn't. So, I'm going to guesstimate it's about 20%)

So, 15% to his manager and 20% to the FanExpo Company = 35% ($ 78,750) taken out of the original $225,000 = Roughly $146,250 in Joseph Quinn's pocket at the end of the weekend.

Now, that doesn't account for what his CAA agents might take out, but cons aren't film roles so they might not factor in this at all. Still, I think our boy is conservatively bringing home six figures per con when all is said and done. Not too shabby for a weekend's worth of work.

Again, these are merely guesstimates of what he could potentially make per con. The figures I've laid out are clearly dependent on how many fans actually buy tickets and pay for both autos and photo ops. This is all theoretical, but I think it's also insightful. Helps to see how much a celebrity can potentially make at a fan con & why cons are so lucrative and appealing to the celebrities that book to appear at them.

marc totally has a knitting/crocheting phase while vale's pregnant with celestino somehow ends up teaching pecco and the others who get competitive with it and that is how baby celin ends up with over 100's of knitted items: scarves. hats, gloves, socks, onesies, and blankets. you name it they are crafting it. but the best piece comes from alex who sends over this -->

Marc had learnt crochet from his mother when he was younger. With Vale nearing the six month mark of pregnancy, Marc took the time to start crocheting again. With his injury, he had all the time in the world to focus on healing, crocheting and on his little family.

Pecco sat with his Papa, watching him fashion baby boots from lemon yellow wool. Marc watched his son try to copy the pattern, his stitches too tight in one place and too loose in others. It took Pecco many failed attempts, but he managed to fashion a small cat beanie for his baby brother out of striped blue and cream wool.

Pecco went to his Moto2 races with a ball of yarn in his pocket and a crochet hook tangled in his hair. He would practice his stitches while hanging out with the boys, who ended up learning with him. Bez was the one who made it into a competition, bragging that he could make a perfect pair of booties for Celin, (he ended up making a small pair of lacy booties, grass green with a pastel green trim). Franky made a baby wrap for Celin to be swaddled in while Enea made him a sweater with tiny pockets for show. Pecco made a baby blue cardigan with cat shaped buttons. Mig made Cele a pair of gloves that looked like boxing gloves. Luca made Celin a small plush cow and Alex kept his project hidden until he had finished it, making his nephew a small star baby grow.

All the boys went around the MotoGP grid, the riders (or their mothers and wives) each created a granny square for a blanket. They received enough squares to make a blanket for Celin's cot, Marc and Vale's bed, Pecco's bed and an extra blanket for the living room (that everyone knew was claimed by the academy boys).

Robot's Ocean has already gone on for about $80k wealth higher than any of the previous colonies and my save file seems precariously close to being bricked, so I've been thinking about wrapping the colony up and moving on.

As a sanguophage mechanitor with psylink level 6, every (non-mechanitor) implant she can possibly get that doesn't come with significant drawbacks, 9+ in every skill, and now a spouse, I think Yoshiko's development has kinda plateaued. Making her dramatically stronger (by, say, making all the sanguophage stuff into endogenes and then stacking a new xenotype on top of that) would take a ridiculous amount of time. Otherwise, the only real ways for her to get stronger are luciferium or by upgrading some of her bionics to archotech, and once you're at the 'every body part is bionic' stage already, those are pretty marginal upgrades. Skill-wise, all but two skills are into the range where they decay, and since she uses almost every skill on a daily basis, the levels are just going to keep fluctuating up and down as her focus shifts. Also, she's like... 35 now. It'd be weird if she ended up older than I am. So this doesn't feel like a bad spot to let her retire from active duty and enjoy the rest of her immortal life in peace.

Which leaves me debating where to take things in the future. Somehow I'm not bored of this yet, and the blog's follower count has doubled over the past week or so, so apparently somebody still wants to read this. Various options include:

The strongest contender in my head is roughly repeating the original start, but without the mechanitor part. Starting off with a lone child who doesn't have robots to fall back on. (Obviously this would be a different girl named Yoshiko.) This would probably involve making a custom scenario to give her appropriate gear and starting tech, because useless child Naked Brutality might be a bit much. Not sure if I'd go for the orphanage thing again, or try a different goal. It'd need some limitations, or else the kid can just recruit some adult help in the first month, which kinda defeats the purpose. I'd also probably have to disable the exostrider corpse in the scenario, or she could just rush becoming a mechanitor anyway.

As above, but start as a non-baseline xenotype to shake things up a bit. Incompetent 13 year old sanguophage could be an interesting way to help the kid survive while introducing its own problems to work around. Otherwise, maybe yttakin, impid, or waster? Yttakin and impid both have powers that would make combat a less dicey proposition early on. Waster could live in wastelands, which comes with its own benefits and challenges.

Or start with a new 13 year old mechanitor, but try the solo mechanitor thing, never allowing anybody else to join the colony. This would remain an interesting challenge for longer, but it also might be a little boring to talk about since there wouldn't be any character interactions.

The way opposite option would be something like using VFE - Tribals to start out with a pre-neolithic group and try to progress from 'what the fuck is ""fire""???' up to building a spaceship or something. Which would very likely be a generational kind of deal, because historically that takes a while.

Just start a new colony with Yoshiko and Cindy and keep going. The orphanage thing has been pretty fun to play tbh, and while Robot's Ocean is pretty secure now, as the Hospital Rockets Incident demonstrated, just because she's super-competent doesn't mean that bad stuff can't happen. On the other hand, starting with two competent adults, I think things would snowball a lot faster. This would probably involve using Character Editor or something to ditch the current save and start a new one, presumably with a mod or two disabled. Although unfortunately, one of the prime candidates for the mod that's breaking things is the one that allows for humanoid mechs.

Or have Yoshiko pass off the torch, giving a mechlink to one of her kids upon 13 and sending them off into the wilderness to continue the cycle??
