Why not spam emails to the representatives.

i mean you could, but its not nearly as helpful as having large groups of people doing it together.

they track how many of their constituents are contacting them regarding certain concerns. theyre probably not gonna care that one guy is passionately emailing them everyday, but they will take note if many individual people under their jurisdiction are asking them to act on an important issue.

whether or not they actually will act is unfortunately a different matter entirely

#also while im on the topic #i finally got a response back from one of my reps after i sent out my emails out weeks ago #apparently there was some vote recently about strengthing rural access to broadband that might lighten the loss of acp a bit for some peopl #but as far as i can tell rn it doesnt seem to do nearly as much as acp currently does so saving it is still a priority #especially since for me personally i dont think this new vote is gonna do much to help in my particular situation #an ask

does anyone remember that one post that was like "distrust of the American government is ~different~ when a foreigner does it" that was basically just another guilt tripping post about how leftists need to vote blue no matter, but attempting to also square that circle with how pretty mich the whole rest of the world hates the US, especially in countries where the US has "intervened" even under so-called progressive leadership. well obviously you can tell what I think of that post, but it's especially irritating to think about now because it was framed like the citizens of the United States not only lack a reason to care about how US politics will affect people outside the US (cause who cares about solidarity amiritie?) but also cannot possibly be personally affected by said foreign policy. like this is trivially false but it took until Arab-Americans turned on Biden for anyone to notice the discrepancy, despite many of the same progressive Democrat voters talking non-stop for years about how immigration is an important part of American history. like, did y'all think every immigrant uprooted their entire family tree to move over there? that none of them have any connection to where they came from except for a vague wistfulness about their lost culture? turns out America and its politics aren't as isolated as you wish they were! never have been!

but yea anyway people are trying to browbeat the Arab-Americans into changing their minds now. 😐
