Romantic VOY EMH/Doctor HCs:
A/N: My life is getting weird. Also my request box is popping off! DANG I needed a break from working on all of them to bring you my latest Star Trek Hyper Fixation...
Prompt: Romantic Doctor HCs (cause he's so under appreciated)
At first he's not sure if he can even register the fact that he is in love with you.
He will recreate a hologram version of you in order to practice asking you out.
Granted it's only a silent mannequin but he has to start some where.
He'll watch some romantic operas (which mostly end in tragedy).
He decides to try and read some romantic novels, theorizing that they might bring him some more "information".
Paris accidentally finds one laying open on his desk and he makes the excuse it's for a psychological study.
Paris offers to help him but he turns him down.
"I've seen the way you treat romantic interests Mr. Paris, I don't require your assistance."
He also tries to study other media types of romantic to learn from them.
He tries writing poetry but he struggles to create something that captures your essence.
One day you enter sickbay while he's deprogrammed, you don't have a serious injury just a cut, and find all of his attempts.
"Doctor's Log Personal, I have made one hundred attempts to confess my feelings for Ensign (L/N). All have ended in failure. I feel foolish, I'm a doctor not a stuttering school boy. But I feel so overwhelmed by them it practically fries my circuits."
You always noticed he seemed to have a harder time talking to you at first.
Or he always spoke to you in a much softer way.
"Doctor's Log Personal, I have attempted to write poetry about (L/N) as to better convey my feelings. It is not going well."
You picked up a few of the pads with half written scribbles of poetry.
He made you seem so much more beautiful and romantic than you felt.
"Doctor's Log Personal, Lieutenant Paris has recommended I take them to the holodeck for a "romantic outing". This seems like a good idea, however, I don't think Paris's idea of a romantic date and mine are the same."
You feel your heart swell.
You activate his programing and you give him a big fat kiss before he has a chance to finish his greeting.

i hate to say it, as a notorious emh hater, but ending up on prodigy is the best thing that could have happened to him. on prodigy the writers actually care about long term character development and don’t feel compelled to get their kinks out on the emh as their self insert. so no longer will we have to watch episodes with the emh in which the female characters around him are viewed merely as sexual objects. and if the doctor engages in something messed up, someone will actually call him out on it and he’ll be compelled to actually adapt and change as a person.

Me: "I don't like how much this season feels like it's just pandering to nostalgia. Like, do we *really* need another 'Wrath of Khan' retread? Really?"
Also Me: "If the Voyager EMH doesn't put in a guest appearance, I riot!"

what if instead of trying to pick an existing name like Schmullus he just made himself a name
i propose that Dr. Iam Aych would be a fine name for Voyager's chief medical officer

Steven Universe × Startrack: Voyager
Pearl and the doctor:
Poorly drawn pearl and EMH.
P: So basically you are a primitive form of a species similar to our own!
D: I beg your pardon?!
(I know the drawing is poor quality due to reasons, but I am glad I made it, and also it is better then not making it. Trying to make him into a cartoon was challenging, and going over with pens I did some mistakes, but I am pleased with the fact I tried, and I might draw more EMH + Crystal Gems.)

I feel like watching voyager (I believe I'm on late season 3 at the moment) is a bit like russian roulette. Let me explain, I think some episodes are awesome. We have the Borg appearing! Tuvok and Neelix having that relationship crisis (well, what do you want me to call it????), and the doctor going a little bit insane - I love seeing stable-ish characters lose their sanity just a little! So in short, some of the episodes I've watched recently are amazing.
But then there's some.... others. Look, I get it's a brilliant idea - "oh, looks like harry kim's not a human! He knows some really specific stuff!" - but the execution of that idea, with a planet whose female population seemed to have been snatched from Risa, just.... Stuff that makes me feel like I'm in year 9 media studies class learning about what the male gaze is and seeing a textbook definition of it. I feel like the "harry isn't human" plotline could have been so much more interesting and well developed, but it just became uncomfy to watch.
Harry was definitely one of the episode's redeeming qualities, I love him and his little rolling around the place. Also he's very clever!! And Tom is amazing too, harry and tom definitely compliment eachother :)
In summary I watched 3 × 19 "Rise" and 3 × 20 "Favourite Son" and wanted to share my thoughts :)

so i'm hoping to start watching Voyager for the first time after binging TNG and DS9 intermittently over the past year, and i'm doing a little research before i start... so i have a very silly question
is. is the Doctor's (EMH's?) struggle with his existence as an A.I. not too dissimilar from an extended version of the Mr. Meeseeks ep of Rick and Morty? 😭😭😭
