What personality do you headcanon for Tina Chen? I recently came across a video of her talking in game (I wish they credited her voice actor cause I really like her voice) and I was curious how you interpreted her personality based on the way she talks/acts in the game.

For those wondering, here's the scene in question:

Tina: "You see anything?" Robert: "No... Where the fuck is that drone?" Tina: "It was a class 3 alert, right?" Robert: "Yeah… only the signal stopped suddenly…" Tina: "Another drone playing up… The cold screws with them…" Robert: "Yeah… Maybe…" North: "Now what?" Markus: "Dispatch calling patrol 975." Tina: "Dispatch, this is patrol 975." Markus: "Suspected robbery in progress at the warehouse on Jefferson and Walker." Tina: "Jefferson and Walker? That's pretty far… It's outside our district…" Markus: "Sorry guys, there are no other patrols available." Tina: *thinks it over and gives Robert a slightly tired smile* "10-4 dispatch, we're on our way…"

Even from what little we've seen/heard of her, she gives me a very distinct personality.

1.) Professional/mature. Why? Instead of giving the dispatch an earful, she briefly thinks the situation over, and then takes the reported case outside of her district.

2.) Not easily frightened. Why? She remains completely calm after hearing there's a possible robbery she's asked to investigate.

3.) Bold. Used to making decisions. Doesn't mind being in charge. Why? She immediately takes the lead when hearing the dispatch calling her patrol instead of waiting for Robert to do it.

4.) Not shy. She's not afraid to express disdain. Why? Her powerful/mildly annoyed tone of voice.

Tina: "Another drone playing up... The cold screws with them."

5.) Ready to step in when needed. Ties into professionalism. Why? Getting dispatched to an area outside of one's district isn't the most glorious thing to be, but she takes it in stride.

6.) Usually speaks her mind. Why? She questions the dispatch. I say "usually" as she remains quiet in the break room and seems unsure what to think/say about Gav punching Con. Her mouth falls slightly open, but her eyes don't go wide... so the act doesn't surprise her. She opens her mouth to say something only to decide to remain quiet. Ti also looks back at Con before leaving suggesting that she's mildly sympathetic. Yet not enough to say/do anything.

Ti and Gav possibly being friends is very easy to grasp for me. After all, she does hang out with him in the break room, and all her other personality traits add up to her and Gav getting along. Neil Newbon -- Gav's voice + mo-cap actor -- said he acted the break room scene before Con enters as if he's, "talking to a friend." So he enforces this theory. Btw, there's a transcript of what Gav is talking about found in the game files for those who haven't seen it. Look at the video description:

I might be wrong, but I think Ti and Lucy share the same voice actor as they sound very similar. Yvonne Wandera. That means I also think she voices the person Markus calls in Broken after Leo breaks in.

DPD Call Center: "Detroit Police, what's your emergency?" Markus: "This is Carl Manfred’s android, at 8941 Lafayette Avenue. We've just returned home and found the lights on. There may have been a break-in…" DPD Call Center: "A patrol car is on the way."

As much as I find the way the fandom headcanons her fun, she's not the stereotypical "teenage anime friend pushing her friends into talking to their crushes" trope who's "deviously trying to make it happen." Again, she's professional/mature. The closest thing I can see her do is ask, "Are you gonna tell them?" and teasing "Pussy" if they say "no" before dropping it entirely, lol.

So, this is my first bit of writing I'm posting here... Ellie belongs to @randowaffle, the others are mine. Hope y'all enjoy

Ellie had heard such amazing reviews of this play. She was excited to finally see it. She sat in her seat, enthusiastically waiting for the show to start. The beginning of the music signaled that the play was about to begin. The first thing she noticed was an oddly dressed actor who appeared to be the lead, more specifically, his pink hair.

Ellie sat through the entirety of the show, enjoying it from beginning to end. As they finished the final number, the audience clapped in time with the music. As if on cue, everyone, including herself, stood and cheered as the show ended and the actors took their bows. Somehow, she had to idea to talk to one of the cast members, deciding on the lead. She made her way over to the actor, his salmon pink hair making him stick out from the rest of the cast. He turned towards her, a warm and friendly smile decorated his face.

“Hello! I just wanted to say that you all did a great job. I enjoy seeing plays and heard a lot about this one. I’m glad I came.” Ellie laughed nervously, holding her hand out to shake. The actor eagerly shakes her hand, chuckling.

“Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed. It’s always so nice to see people enjoy themselves during our productions. I’m Egotistical. Well, that’s my stage name, of course.” Ellie smiles, though raises an eyebrow at his introduction. Egotistical is an odd name, even for the stage, she thought. But it didn’t really matter.

“It’s nice to meet you! I’m Ellie. I enjoy theatre also. I’ve always wanted to be a part of a play.” Egotistical stopped smiling for a moment, pondering her response. He looks back to her and smiles again, although it was more of a mischievous grin.

“I can put a word in with the Director… we could make you a star.” He whispers the last bit, allowing it to sink in. Ellie was surprised to say the least. Her? A star? A star.. that sounded good to her. She felt herself nodding. It sounded almost too good to be true! Her excitement was clear as she responded.

“Really? I’d love to!”

“Great! I’ll introduce you! How about a little tour of the backstage? I can introduce you to the other geniuses behind the show.” Ellie nodded eagerly following him onto the stage, and into the wings, until they make it completely backstage. The crew was cleaning up, moving set pieces back to where they belonged, putting the props away and helping the cast wipe off their makeup. A girl with a headset walks over to them, a serious look on her face, almost worried.

“Ego! We were looking for you! Who’s this?” She raised her eyebrow and glanced at Ellie, that worried expression still noticeable. His smile seemed to darken ever so slightly.

“Hey Star, this is Ellie! We were planning to talk to the director. It seems we might have someone else joining us at auditions. Ellie, this is our lovely stage manager, Star.” He winked at Ellie. Star’s unease only seemed to grow. She looked like she wanted to say something but before she could, someone had called Egotistical over, he quickly made his way to them, apologizing to Ellie. The second he was out of earshot, Star seized Ellie by the shoulders, her face more frightened than ever.

“Listen to me, there isn’t a lot of time before he gets back. You have to get out of here NOW! Don’t look back. Don’t come back. And do not listen to him. Just run while you still can. Ego can’t be trusted.” Ellie struggled to get out of her grip, pulling away and backing up in fear. She bumped into someone, turning around and finding Egotistical there, still smiling. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the stage manager.

“I’m sorry if Star scared you. She has a tendency to do that. Now, come on! Director is this way!” He started walking again. Ellie took one last look at Star before speeding up to catch up with the energetic actor. What was Star talking about? Why did she need to run? Ego stopped in front of a door leading to an office, he opened it, holding it for Ellie. She hesitated, uneasy after the stage manager’s ominous warning. He follows and closes the door.

“It’ll be so nice to have another lead,” he said. “You’re going to be fantastic.” Ellie lets out a weak chuckle, still nervous.

“T-thank you but… it’s not likely that I’ll get a lead role…” He laughs, though it wasn’t the least bit friendly.

“Trust me… it is.” He snapped, Ellie’s limbs frozen in place. She panicked, trying to get her body to move. It felt as if she was being restrained by someone. Ego’s shadow was grinning just as much as he was as it held her in place. “Hmm… you need a stage name. How about.. Eleanor?” His smile grew wider, more manic. She wanted to scream for help.

“Let me go! People will look for me!” He laughs. “But they won’t find you. You’ll be too busy performing, Eleanor.” That name was the last thing Ellie heard before everything went black. That name whispered faintly in her mind.

Eleanor…. Eleanor… Eleanor…..

Then it grew louder

.....

“Eleanor? Eleanor!” She awoke to someone snapping in her face. She blinked, recognizing the pink haired individual and relaxing.

“You had me worried for a second. Can’t have our Narrator passing out on us! You sure you’re ok?” Ego offered his hand. Eleanor smiled and took it, allowing him to help her up. The rest of the cast was relieved to see she was alright. The stage manager still looked concerned. She seemed almost sad at how Eleanor responded.

“I’m fine guys. Thank you though,” Ego sat her down, and handed her a glass of water. “Now, where were we at? I lost my place in the script.”
