everything that's fanon cas, (the gardening, the knitting, the famers market) are all things dean would actually get a kick out of and enjoy sooo much while cas would probs get very impatient and wanna angel magic his plants healthy and thriving and have 200 knotted and tangled abandoned knitting projects and like this post said would absolutely walk thru a famers market in three minutes nodding at everything before leaving while dean wants to talk with everyone and try all the free samples and he likes to knit while watching dr. sexy reruns bc adhd boy needs something to keep his hands busy and he loves gardening bc it's like fishing, meditative, out under the sun, and he gets to get his hands dirty doing something productive and healing. he goes to the home depot and buys out half the gardening section. he learns everything there is to know abt gardening. it becomes one of his little projects. he needs a little project. and he loves growing food for his family, herbs to season all his dishes, and pretty follower to brighten up the house. cas will help sometimes or just bring out some lemonade and sit with him. they both wear their cowboy hats as sun hats
I am a jack of all trades and that's something I've put a lot of time into over the years because I find the processes behind various crafts to be absolutely fascinating and learning the craft is the joy. not doing it. which is why I burn through so many hobbies constantly. Once I know the process once Ive pushed myself to achieve relative competence at it, I get bored. There's always more to learn and new things to try within a craft, but it's a rapidly diminishing return the further I get into something mostly because like. there's way more overlap between crafts than people tend to think so once you have a grasp of x you apply it to y to achieve z. making z boring because x and y were already known.
it's too the point that I'm running out of hobbies. The lands left to conquer require heavy machinery or animals and I'm Bored. I need a new craft again but I can't Find one
In just under 20 days, I am flying to Western Australia to see a solar eclipse.
Because it's so dangerous to look at the sun directly, I've been trying out sun viewing equipment.
Got to find something that won't give me a headache, or worse, damage my eyes.
I got these specialised eclipse binoculars a while ago. They're celestron, a mostly respected brand, and have all the right certifications. They are second hand though.
I feel fine after using them, if a little dazzled - sunlight gets in around the sides . I plan to 3d print something to go around them to block that, which hopefully will make them fine to use.
I have since found out that they're only supposed to be used when an eclipse is nearly at totality. So if you're using some yourself, please do your own research rathet than going of just this post
Even then, I'd like a second option.
This is an Aliexpress solar filter designed for my telescope. I don't trust it on the telescope.
Even holding it up to the sun while wearing sunglasses - (despite my eyes collecting a thousandish times less light than the telescope) - after a short time I feel like I've been at the beach all day without sunglasses.
I will not be bringing this to Exmouth.
Next up is the cheap, but more legit cardboard solar glasses from the astronomy shop in the city:
These use the same baader film tech as the filter above.
Despite being from a reputable source, these still feel too bright, and make my eyes feel funny. Even when combined with sunnies.
Just today, this arrived:
This is a pair of shade 14 welding glass lenses - nasa recommended, and the darkest ones I could get my hands on.
They're perfect.
They turn the sun into a much fainter greenish yellow ball.
It is soooo much easier on the eyes than any of the tools I tried above.
Now what I need to do is go and make something to use them in
ok updated ref for Regina now that i’ve got her custom Cool Jacket And Shades And Raggedy Cape(TM) done ingame
also, sketchy sequence of events regarding why an apex rebel ended up sticking around as an official vaporwave space cop. alt dialogue: “oh man we have gotta get you a badge so i dont have to keep arguing with miniknog over the phone”
Train journeys are not for getting places they are for listening to so much music that your brain feels like it’s leaking out of your ears and your headphones hurt to wear
i want to create and i want to hold what i make in my hands. i look at dozens of mediums and want nothing more than to try them and hold something new, and rough and misshapen, and all mine. i want to draw and paint in a hundred different styles and i want to learn all the different ways to make a rug and a blanket. i want to whittle and make 3d models and paint miniatures and build dioramas. i want to find my voice everywhere and share it in everyway that i can even if nobody else listens for it. i just want to make things
Laser Marking on Glass Bottle video from C. And C. Laser Engineering Whatsapp/Mobile: +91-9833105515.
Laser Marking on Glass Bottle - The above video shows Laser marking on glass Bottle using a nano-second UV laser.
Glass or Glass Bottle can only be marked with UV Laser. IR (1064 nm) laser gets reflected from the glass. UV laser (355 nm) and DUV (266 nm) get absorbed easily by the glass and hence are the ideal source for marking on Glass or Glass Bottle. In the video shown above, the glass bottle has been laser marked with a 355 nm 5 W UV laser with a Galvo-based marking system having a laser marking field of 100 X 100 sq. mm., using a rotary. Green (532 nm) laser and CO2 (10.6 µm) would fracture & crack the glass.
C. And C. Laser Engineering is popular for its job work services in laser marking, laser welding, laser cutting, and micro-machining.
Today was the first time I actually WORKED on a cosplay in 2 1/2 years; not just bought stuff for it or glued a piece of jewelry together, but actually sat down and WORKED on it.
I dremeled a piece of metal into a point to resemble a bee stinger, i dyed belt straps for a jacket, i painted shoes, shaved down round buttons to make hexagonal ones. I even worked on styling a wig for the first time in awhile!
idk if u were serious in the tags of ur last post but if welding/smithing is something u wanna do go for it!!! there's rlly good money in welding rn and if it's a job that would be less shitty for u go for it!
i was half serious honestly i think trade are dope as hell ESPECIALLY welding/smithing. my parents were always doing renovations around me when i was little, so i learned how to sauter pipes when i was 8 years old! that sort of stuff was always really cool to me
