Brother's Blessing (GI x younger sister reader)
Tumblr media
(Someone wants to date you, so they decided to go to your older brother to try and get your blessing.)
Diluc
(Who: Albedo)
Diluc knew who Albedo was, he also knew that he was friends with you. Being your older brother, he was weary of the boy, partly due to his affiliation with the Knights of Favonious. So to say the redhead was surprised when Albedo walked into the bar while he was there would be an understatement. He didn't seem like the type to drink, and it was rare for him to leave his lab in Dragonspine. It started off normal, that is until Albedo asked what he had wanted to ask for a long time, in the bluntest manner Diluc could have imagined.
"I would like your blessing to date (Y/N)." Those words made Diluc pause whatever he had been doing and stare at Albedo wide-eyed. After taking a moment to process what he had just heard, he finally spoke.
"What?" he asked, part of his brain convincing him that he had simply misheard the male. Albedo simply looked up at him, calm as ever as he repeated himself.
"I would like your blessing to date (Y/N)." Albedo's words, finally sunk in as Diluc placed the glass he had been cleaning down on the bar. He was quiet, deep in thought. While he was protective of you as your older brother, he never wanted to seem controlling. And while he wasn't the biggest fan of anyone who was associated with the Knights of Favonious, Diluc would ultimately leave the choice of who you date up to you.
"That's not my decision to make, it's hers." He stated, cleaning another glass.
"But I'm glad you came to me." He finished, Diluc then watched as Albedo left, only hoping you would be happy.
Kaeya
(Who: Venti)
It was a usual night for Kaeya, sitting in Angle's share, sharing passive-aggressive looks with DIluc as he enjoyed a drink. Then venti walked in, taking a seat right next to him. It wasn't uncommon for the bard to visit the tavern, in fact, it's where he would spend most of his nights. But, something was different, for once, he wasn't smiling. When Venti looked over at Kaeya, a nervous expression on his face. This caught both his and Diluc's attention, both men looked at each other confused, but neither of them spoke. Kaeya turned back to Venti, who was looking up at him.
"What's got you so nervous all of a sudden?" Kaeya asked, trying to lighten the mood. There was a brief pause before venti spoke, and what he asked was something neither Kaeya nor Diluc could have expected to leave his lips.
"Can I date (Y/N)?" His question was sudden and left Kaeya stunned. The blue-haired male simply looked at Venti, his one visible eye never leaving the shorter male's frame. He knew you had a close friendship with Venti, but Kaeya would have never guessed that the bard had taken interest in you. Now, he wasn't totally against the idea, but there was a small part of him that never wanted you to date. But he knew that would just make him seem overbearing,
"Well, that was unexpected," he said, laughing to hide his shock.
"You want to date my sister?" He asked, keeping a smile on his face. Venti nodded as Kaeya watched him. He liked Venti, but the bard had a bad habit, his drinking. He would always leave Angle's share almost too drunk to walk. And why he didn't hate Venti because of it, it was something that concerned him when it came to the idea of him dating you, his precious sister. However, another part of his brain told him that he should let you decide. After all, you were a good judge of character, and if Venti did end up hurting you, then he would handle it.
"I don't see why not, just make sure to treat her right." He said with a smile still on his face, though there was a hint of seriousness in his tone.
Albedo
(Who: Aether)
Albedo hadn't been expecting to see Aether again after their first meeting, but one day the blond traveler made his way up the mountain and to his lap where he was currently working on one of his experiments.
"Hello again, what can I help you with?" He asked as the blond made his way inside the cave, Paimon following close behind him as the two stayed near the fire to fight off the bitter cold of Dragonspine. Aether was quiet as if he was considering something, but before he could speak, Paimon beat him to it.
"Aether wants to ask you something really important," the small girl told him, nudging her companion. Aether finally gathered his thoughts as he took a deep breath,
"I wanted to get your permission to date (Y/N)" he didn't beat around the bush. Albedo stopped for a moment, looking at the blond boy.
"Ah, I see" he replied, the two making eye contact. You had told him that you and Aether had become good friends, having seen each other during your frequent trips to Mondstat. But he never considered that the two of you were that close. A smile appeared on Albedo's face, which seemed to put Aether a bit more at ease.
"I don't mind, you should go ask her." He said ushering the boy to go find you. He waved goodbye to the two as they disappeared back down the mountain before returning to his work.
Xiao
(Who: Ganyu)
Both of them being adepti, Xiao was close with Ganyu. She was a sweet girl and he liked her, despite his seemingly cold attitude. So it wasn't odd for her to approach him, but what she asked managed to catch Xiao completely off guard.
"I wanted to ask (Y/N) to date me," the girl asked, rubbing the back of her neck nervously. There was a pause as Xiao processed her question. He didn't even think adepti could experience such a human emotion as love. But now, he could see the emotional look in Ganyu's eyes, and he could tell you felt the same about her whenever you spent time with Ganyu. Xiao was protective when it came to you, but he was never really bothered by the thought of you dating someone, mostly because he didn't think you would find someone you were interested in. Xiao nodded,
"then do it" he simply stated, and then, he was gone.

ZHONGLI would of course find it questionable, especially with how trusting you are to tell such a thing so effortlessly, He would be willing to lend a hand, of course. As someone who had always been of service to the people of Liyue, he would certainly feel the need to offer help. Do you need a place to stay for the night? Or maybe even for a while? Just name it and he’ll try to do it. However, the only issue would be… does Celestia know you’re here?
“What are you thinking about?”
He was pulled out of his trail of thoughts, gaze landing back to you,”It’s… it’s not something you must be weary of. For now, how about I share a story? Do tell me if you’ve heard of it. You do know a lot about this world, as you said.”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
“Adeptus XIAO,” he heard you call his name, and something felt strange. However, like usual, of course, he was bound to leave. But you called for him again to stay.
He believed you the moment you told him—you seemed so out of place, but it didn’t mean you had his full trust.
“How did you know my name?” h’d ask questions, quite straightforwardly actually. He will be able to sense your lies, but “Is it so important to hide that you’d feel the need to lie to me?” But actually, he wouldn’t push any further.
“Come here,” he suddenly says, “Let’s get you to Wangshuu Inn first. And then we’ll talk.”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
VENTI acted like he usually would. You didn’t… seem like you’re a dangerous person. Call it a god’s intuition! Ehe. Well… now he’s got to keep an eye on you, right? Now, be prepared to go on daily walks and nightly hours at Angel’s Share! You shall be his temporary muse… how about that? Is that offer tempting enough?
“Oh! Windblume is coming up! Would you want to be my da—I mean, you wouldn’t want to be alone for such a joyous occasion… right?”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
THOMA was accommodating, immediately telling you how you could adjust very well to your new surroundings. He knew what it felt like, to feel so foreign and all alone in a land that wasn’t his own or what he is used to.
“Say, how about you meet my master and lady? I’m sure they’d be glad to take you in,” he’d offer, however if you didn’t feel lke taking a job… maybe he could come up with something like you’re a friend of a friend… or you’re someone from Mondstadt? That would be a good excuse…
“Well, come on! I can help you, what do you say of a nice hotpot? Let me treat you to one first, are you hungry?”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
SCARAMOUCHE was convinced that you were playing with him at first. Such an insolent one you are! Do you think of him as a fool? Also, why in the world do you trust this man
“Why do you trust me? There must be something…” he leans in, narrowing his eyes at you, staring at you and your soul, “is it because I’m a Harbinger? Or… did she send you here to make me look like a fool?”
He probably intimidated you for a long while… don’t expect him to trust you so easily.
But you didn’t seem to budge at all.
Were you perhaps telling the truth, then?
“Hey you,” he’d call out your name, “tell me more about what you know… you better not leave a single thing out, you got it?”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
KAZUHA, intuitively, knew you are not of this world, but wanted to test you… somehow. He couldn’t just believe you with your words and your guts,
But… this is definitely interesting.
“From another world… I met someone like you, perhaps you’d know them? Would you like to meet them? That I can assist you with.”
He would offer things that could help you, and even introduce you to Beidou. Maybe you could stay with the Crux too, for the meantime?
“You have nowehere else to go too, huh… would you like to go with me, then? Shall we explore the world of Teyvat together?”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
KAEYA is quite perceptive as well, but he has his own secrets, you must have yours too. He understands if you keep something from him.
But he feels compelled to help.
To be somewhere you’re not used to, a world you never wanted to come to… probably. This is something he knew very well, almost a little too much, even.
He holds out his hand then, a charming smile on his face, “This must be a call for help. I am Kaeya, the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius. I can help you.”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
GOROU, quite the helpful person that he is, would immediately offer support for you. Need a shelter to live on? How about comfortable clothes? He couldn’t just ignore such things. Who will he be if he ignores someone who needs help?
“I, General Gorou, will gladly be of your service! Come, I’m sure Lady Kokomi will… huh? You want to go out… with me?” he freezes for a second, “Oh! You wanted to go with me instead… not go out… I apologize, I was-Ah, I’m sorry, I misheard.”
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
DILUC is wary of you, always had been and will be with people who are new to Mondstadt.
“You don’t look like you’re from around here,” was what he thought in his mind, only muttering it under his breath, to which you surprisingly heard.
“I’m not. I’m from another world. You’re Diluc, right? You are!”
Everybody in town knows him, but that’s definitely not how they’d react when they see him. Of course, there were those moms who’d offer up their own child to him—which he’s still quite irritated about especially when he doesn’t even know them—but you don’t seem like that was your intention at all.
Who are you, really?
He might have to keep on a lookout for you for the next couple of days.
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
CHILDE would say, “How about we spar?”
The moment he sees the look on your face and how you suddenly mutter “Why did I know you’d say that…” he knew that you were someone to be wary of—to keep an eye on. After all, he’d be the type to believe in the phrase “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
The thing is… you don’t seem like you could even hurt a fly. And there’s not a sight of a weapon anywhere near you as well.
Oh well, there’s nothing wrong with taking you in! At least, he could monitor you closely… maybe a bit too close as time went on and days passed by.
Why do you always say the right words? How well do you even know him?
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
AYATO has the capability to help, and he would. His parents would do the same.
“It’s nothing, fear not. The Kamisato Clan would be delighted to be of assistance.”
He doesn’t venture out of the residence that much, which is why you always see him around, and he does to you as well. He’s very generous and welcoming, even those who are around him. Of course, there would be whispers and mutters sometimes, but Thoma, Ayaka, and AYATO were genuine, nonetheless, thus no one really speaks out loud since this is the generosity of the Head of the Yashiro Commission. To be frank, they’re really impressed by him.
Since he always see you around, it would be a little too awkward if he doesn’t anymore.
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
ALBEDO would be curious, to say the least. He seems like he believes you… but he does question you a lot that it feels like he doesn’t as well.
“Fascinating. You know very well about Teyvat. May you tell me more?”
He is accomodating, somewhat. He’s almost never at home so it was easy for him to offer a roof over your head for the entire time you will stay in Mondstadt. You met Klee almost as instant as you reached the city… and now you’re even her caretaker—you claimed. Everybody knows that whenever they see Klee running around, you’ll be following her. They’d feel bad for you, honestly, even ALBEDO. However, it is quite pleasing to watch you get attached to the little elf.
┌───────── · · · · ꒰⚘݄꒱₊
Another traveler like him? Someone else from another world? AETHER thinks, the questions circling his mind.
It was like he suddenly had a friend even if he didn’t know you personally… actually, you felt too familiar.
“Well, then, how would you like to come with me?” He offers a hand and a curve of a smile. When his sister was taken away from him, he felt like a part of his soul was also robbed. With someone like you—a confidant, maybe… maybe he could patch that part of his soul bit by bit until their mission is completed her in this world.
Maybe in the end, you’ll come with him too.

Monstadt and Liyue boys: You fall asleep on them, and they fall asleep on you. Plus a bonus for some of them!
Diluc, Venti, Kaeya, Albedo, Chongyun, Kazuha, Childe, Aether, Xiao, Xingqiu, Zhongli, Scaramouche
No Warnings
Headcanons, Gender Neutral (They/Them, You/Yours)
A spoiler for We Will Be Reunited in Aether’s second story, but its vague
Diluc
You fall asleep on them
It was a tiring day of commisions and the like, but you wanted to spend at least some time with your boyfriend. He was rambling on and on about his day and other stressful things that you could’t help but doze off. It took him a bit to notice, but when he did, he blushed. He knew the sofa wasn’t the most comfortable and gently carried you to your room, placing you on your bed, tucking you in. As he turned to leave, you clung to sleeve, silently asking him to stay. He gently nodded, and crawled in next to you. You and him both slept better than ever before.
They fall asleep on you
It was basically the reverse, but you couldn’t carry him, and just curled up next to him, drifitng off with his arms wrapped around you. He looked calm, and at peace. He genuinely trusted you. When he woke up, he blushed. He didn’t move until you woke up, and if you did before him he would apologise, face still tinted red. You forgave him, giving him a soft kiss. It was moments like this he adored, just being able to show his soft side. It was also a small gossip among the maids for about two days, but he never found out.
Bonus: PDA opinion
Not a huge fan of PDA, but if someone’s getting too touchy, won’t hesitate to pull you close. And show off his vision. If he’s around Kaeya, like at the tavern, he doesn’t mean to be rude but may slightly ignore your affections, just to spare you both from the teasing. Afterwards, will kiss your forehead and apologise, explaining his reasons. You forgave him, as always. You did understand, Kaeya was a menace at times.
Venti
You fall asleep on them
You were rested in his lap, as he played his Lyre. The tune was so calming, you weren’t particularly tired but drifted off. It took Venti awhile to notice. Only when he asked if you wanted to go for a walk, and you didn’t reply, did he notice. The bard didn’t wish to wake you, and let the lyre vanish into the winds. He let out a soft ‘Ehe~’ before leaning against the tree, and playing with your hair. He did drift off soon, with a comfortable expression.
They fall asleep on you
It was a late night, and you were carrying Venti back from the bar, as he was far too drunk to get home on his own. You got home and changed, your boyfriend laughing and waiting for you. You walked over to him on the bed, before wrapping your arms around his small frame, and pulling him close. You talked for a bit to him, noticing he had fallen asleep when he cuddled closer and his breathing was softer. You gently laughed, kissing his forehead before falling asleep yourself.
Bonus: PDA opinion
Unless you don’t want it, there is a lot of PDA, he just wants everyone to know your his beloved! Will cuddle or hug or kiss you anywhere from on the streets, to the tavern to the middle of the forest. His favourite place to cuddle with you, is of course, Windrise. He loves to rest with you there.
Kaeya
You fall asleep on them
You couldn’t help it! Despite the captain’s cryo vision, he was warm. And comfortable. And..Well, you could go on and on with excuses. It happened when you two were cuddling after a pretty tough day for the both of you. You tried to stay awake, but failed. He noticed quickly, with a chuckle. “Oh? Falling for me yet again..Adorable.” He kissed your forehead, and stayed awake, mainly because he had more work to do. He decided to put you to bed first, not wishing you to be uncomfortable.
They fall asleep on you
Similiar to Venti, you had to walk him home from the tavern. You struggled a bit, as he was somehow more clingy than you expected. You did get home, but not without struggle. “(Name)~” Kaeya whined, as you lead him to your room, letting him stay there. You knew what he wanted, and stayed. You leaned against the headboard, Kaeya clinging to your side. You stroked his hair until he fell asleep. You fell asleep soon as well. He was embarrassed when you mentioned how he acted, but played it off like it was intentional.
Bonus: PDA opinion
Another one for PDA. He’s flirty in public, but will stop or tone it down if you ask, he doesn’t want to make you discomforted, after all. He wouldn’t hesitate to be even more clingy if somebody was bothering you. Kaeya loves you, and will never let you think otherwise.
Albedo
You fall asleep on them
Albedo knew you didn’t understand much about the experiment he was explaining, but was glad you listened to him. “And that’s how...” He trailed off, noticing you were asleep on his shoulder. “I suppose it was a boring topic for them..” He muttered with a smile. He didn’t want to wake you, knowing how important sleep was for you, so he gently pulled you in his lap and wrapped his arms around you. Resting his head on your shoulder, he too fell asleep. His body was warm, a difference to the cold air of Dragonspine, and a nice one. Or, maybe it was just the fire that flickered in the background.
They fall asleep on you
You had begged the Chief Alchemist to take a break, as he had been working for a week straight. Albedo had deniend the need for rest, but the bags under his eyes said otherwise. He eventually gave in and you pat the sofa, with a happy smile. It wasn’t long that you felt a weight against your chest, and saw he was asleep. “I told you so..” You said, rolling your eyes in a loving manner. You stayed awake to make sure he stayed asleep, and he did until the morning, where he thanked you. You could never get his sleeping face out your mind, it was absolutely precious, and it was nice seeing him so at ease.
Chongyun
You fall asleep on them
Chongyun was rambling about some encounter he almost had with a spirit, but you weren’t paying much attention, only listening to the sound of his voice. He noticed when you leaned against his shoulder, eyes shut and breathing soft. He didn’t want to move, despite him beginning to overheat. He tried to gently move you so he could get a popsicle, but when he heard you mumble, he froze. The exorcist didn’t move, at all. He waited until you woke up, which wasn’t pleasent and he didn’t feel the best afterwards. When you noticed, you were quick to apologise and grab him one, coming up with excuses. Chongyun forgave you, he couldn’t stay mad (not that he was), at you anyway.
They fall asleep on you
Xingqiu had pranked him with a far too spicy dish and you were thankfully there, able to quickly get the situation under control and help your boyfriend. You both went back to your place, as it was getting late. You were talking, and before you knew it he was passed out agaisnt you. You couldn’t blame him, it was rather stressful earlier and he was burnt out. You gently kissed his forehead before carrying him to your room and laying down next to him. When he woke up, he was blushing, but still was calm. It surprised him, a lot.
Kazuha
You fall asleep on them
Beidou has agreed to let you come with on the next voyage they went on, and so you were pretty happy. It was a few nights in, and you and Kazuha were talking. You were leaned against him, and he had an arm around you. It was late, and it was to be expected but you drifted off to the sound of his voice, the ocean crashimg against the boat and the wind. Kazuha noticed instantly, and smiled. Beidou walked onto the deck, about to say something when he gave a small wave, asking her to be quiet. She nodded, deciding it could wait and left you two alone again.
They fall asleep on you
You hadn’t joined them this time, waiting for your beloved instead. When he got back, you were both quick to leave and talk elsewhere, which was your home. You rambled about what had happened in the mean time, while he listened. After falling asleep, he looked even more peaceful. You were happy to rest with him, knowing it wouldn’t be too long before you both would leave again.
Childe
You fall asleep on them
The harbinger had gotten some free time, and was spending it dragging you through the harbour. It was a rather long day, and you were exhausted by the time you got home. You sat on the couch, with your beloved. You were talking for awhile before the exhaustion kicked in and you dropped against his shoulder. Tartaglia didn’t expect this, and shot up, assuming you were trying to attack him, (for some reason, maybe to keep him on guard.) That was not the case, and you were thrown to the floor because of physics, and hit it, harshly. He was embarrassed to say the least, and in your moment of exhausted anger, you did smack his shoulder. He found it fair. Childe was forgiven, but only because he let you sleep in his lap instead.
They fall asleep on you
Childe returned home after a long day of training new recruits. He curled up in bed next to you. You spoke for awhile, until exhaustion set in for him, and he fell asleep. You considered pettily waking him up, like he’d done to you, but when you saw his peaceful and loving expression, you couldn’t. You kissed his cheek before falling asleep as well. His arms wrapped more around you in your shared slumber, and he was grateful when he woke that you’d let him rest. He still felt bad about the other day, and was trying to make it up to you.
Aether
You fall asleep on them
Aether had invited you to the teapot, and you were in his room. Paimon was there too, but she was eating something in the kitchen area, leaving you two alone for now. It was awhile later that you had grown tired, and Aether had as well. He opened his arms and let you cuddle close. This was all fine and dandy until Paimon entered the room. “Aether! We’re out of sticky honey roast!!!” She mentioned, practically yelling. You let out a tired and confused mumble, being awoken by the yelling. Aether gently hushed you, and covered your ears. “Paimon, if you don’t shut up right now..I will tell Xianling to turn you into emergency food. That is a threat.” He said, his tone tired but harsh. Paimon squeaked and quickly left. You were both undisturbed for the rest of the night.
They fall asleep on you
Aether entered your home, and he seemed distraught. He explained everything that happened with his sister, and sobbed into your arms. You were worried, and let him cry it out. You noticed Paimon was no-where to be seem and assumed he’d asked to be alone. It took awhile, but his breathing slowed and he’d..well he’d cried himself to sleep. You were just glad he was mostly uninjured, gently stroked his hair, hoping to keeo him asleep. It worked, as he slept throught the night fully.
Xiao
You fall asleep on them
You had spent the day at the balcony of Wangshu Inn, waiting for you adepti boyfriend. It had been a slow day, but you hadn’t slept much and were tired. This didn’t stop you from offering a bright smile as your beloved appeared. You both talked about what things you’d seen recently, and as always he was a bit shy. You wished you could’ve told him that you were tired, but you didn’t want to waste what time you had with Xiao. It was well into the evening when you felt your tiredness kick in, and you fell asleep, against him. It surprised the Adeptus, and before either of you knew it, he vanished. You woke up instantly, and looked around for him. You sighed with a bit of disappointment, you wanted to apologise, and weren’t sure how.
They fall asleep on you
It was days later he made an appearance again, you rushed over to him, apologising on repeat. Xiao softly hushed you, guilt in his eyes. He’d spoken to Verr Goldet, and she’d told him the best course of action. He’d let you hold him, and both of you eventually drifted off, he apologised again in the morning. You’d already forgiven him. Plus, the fact he’d let you get so close and even hold him in his sleep was proof he trusted you.
Xingqiu
You fall asleep on them
It was an agreed date, you could rest and he would read. Plus, you’d be in each other’s company, which was great for the both of you. Xingqiu let you rest against him as he read, encouraging you to get the sleep you needed. You were a bit suspicious, assuming this would be some prank, but trusted him anyway. That proved to be a mistake, as when you awoke and walked back, you recieved odd looks. You didn’t understand until you got to your mirror, and saw the small doodles he’d drawn on your face. You were embarrassed, heavily. You swore to get your revenge.
They fall asleep on you
Xingqiu entered your home, it was a long day for him. All he really wanted was just to cuddle you and go to bed. You offered a sweet smile, scooching over and letting him lay next to you. After he fell asleep, you wondered on your revenge. It seemed fate had other plans as you fell asleep as well. When he woke up first, he’d expected you to have gotten some form of revenge, but noticing nothing had changed, he did feel a bit bad. When you awoke, he apologised and promised to let you rest normally next time. And when that time came, he kept his word. He didn’t want to upset you too badly, after all he was always big on chivalry.
Zhongli
You fall asleep on them
Zhongli spoke of more stories, history and the like, you normally loved listening to him and were always interested, but you’d stayed up a bit too late and were tired. You sat on his lap, as he told another one of the things that had happened in his long life. He noticed you fell asleep when your usual questions never came. He chuckled softly, kissing your forehead. He carried you to bed, and tucked you in. The archon though for a moment, before deciding to join you.
They fall asleep on you
The atmosphere was relaxed, and Zhongli wrapped his arms around you. You smiled, leaning against his chest. He rested his head on top of yours, and shuts his eyes. He didn’t mean to fall asleep, but he did. You didn’t mind, and let the archon rest. If anything, you were glad to be getting so much rest with him, something told you that others weren’t so lucky.
Scaramouche
You fall asleep on them.
It was rare moments you were able to rest with the harbinger, but you never took them for granted. You would clear your schedule when he was free, knowing Scaramouche was a busy person. The one thing you couldn’t change was your energy levels, and you were exhausted. The past week you’d done nothing but work, and rarely slept. But when he notified you he was free, you rushed over. You’d managed to hide your sleepiness so far, knowing how against physical affection he was. But your eyes grew heavy, and you dropped against him. He froze up for a moment, before shoving you off. He hadn’t even registered you were exhausted nor that you had fallen asleep. You blinked, staring at him befofe muttering a small apology and that you had to go, not wanting to bother him. He realised he messed up, and hoped to be able to let you forgive him.
They fall asleep on you
It was another time you were both thankfully free, and he had asked to meet at your place. You had nervously agreed. Upon entering, the first thing he did was apologise, which was a surprise in itself. Then after the small bit you talked, you noticed he seemed tired. He had mentioned he wanted to make it up to you...You moved closer, which confused the harbinger, before you wrapped your arms around him. He was about to protest, before you reminded him of what he had said. He nodded, with a sigh...but he had to admit, he was comfortable..and maybe this wasn’t so bad. His eyes eventually closed, and he had guessed you would shove him off like he’d done to you..but all you did was offer a smile, holding your boyfriend closer, before falling asleep yourself.

(preferably with Diluc, Kaeya and Kazuha but you can add or remove someone if you want to!) like they were hanging out and reader was lost in thoughts and suddenly when they see in the corner of their eyes how the boys raise their arm for smth reader quickly raises their arms above their own head to protect it- how would they react and how would they comfort the reader? I hope it's not too much or if you're uncomfortable with it you can ignore it if you want to whaaaa
AHHH TY IM SO GLAD YOU LIKE MY WRITING! i actually do this too, some of my old friends would make fun of me for it, so i hope that my writing here is accurate >.<

TW!! FLINCHING, ANXIETY, PAST TRAUMA, MENTION OF DEATH AND INJURIES
SLIGHT INAZUMA ARCHON QUEST SPOILERS
KAEYA BACKSTORY SPOILERS
Tumblr media
The cherry blossoms fell silently from the trees under which you and Kazuha were sitting. Those had remained unchanged since you and Kazuha were children. The beauty of the pink blossoms falling towards the green earth without a care.
It had remained the same through the vision hunt decree, through the war, through watching Tomo get killed by the shogun, through both of you getting injured during said fight. Kazuha's hand was burnt from Tomo's vision, and your body had a large scar running from your knee to the side of your neck from a stray bolt of lighting from Tomo's divine punishment. If not for Kazuha's determination to not lose another friend and Beidou and her crew caring for you, you would be dead.
These days, although you and Kazuha both carried the same trauma, he seemed to be doing leaps and bounds better than you were. Your eyes flitted to Kazuha, who was writing poetry. The only sound that could be heard was his pen gliding across the paper, filling it with his eloquent words that always seemed to flow so smoothly.
You were deep in thought, when out of the corner of your eye you spotted something coming towards your face. Instinctively, your hands flew out to shield yourself, leaving a very confused Kazuha, who was only scratching his head, looking at you with concern in his eyes.
"Dove.. did you think I was going to hurt you?"
You slowly lowered your arms, guilt washing over you.
"No! It's just- sometimes, when movements are too sudden.. I.. you know, I try to protect myself because uh.."
His eyes drifted to your scar, then looked up at your face, only to find it tilted to the ground. He put a finger under your chin, bringing your eyes up to meet his, then kissing your forehead.
One hand snaked around your waist while the other traced lightly over your scar, sending shivers down your spine. You wrapped your arms around him as well, putting a little of your weight onto him.
He kissed your lips, squeezing you tight against him.
"I'll never let anyone hurt you again. I promise."
"Kazuha, it's not-"
"I know it's not my fault. And I know I couldn't have prevented it. But I promise you, you're safe now."
He brought his hand up to cradle the back of your head as you buried your face in the crook of his neck.
"Thank you." you said, squeezing him a little tighter.
"No need to thank me. I love you, Y/n."
"I love you too, Kazuha."

You had been a part of Beidou's crew for just over a year now, after meeting her in the wharf of Liyue harbor after finally finding the courage to leave your abusive and toxic partner. You didn't have a place to stay and you were clearly distraught, so when she asked if you were okay and you immediately began to cry, she offered you to come on her ship. You trusted her, since she was the well-known captain of the Crux. After you had explained your situation, she offered you to join her crew. You agreed, and began dating her about six months after joining the Crux.
Because you had been aboard the Alcor for a year, you knew the crew was loud and prone to get drunk. You had never liked to drink, preferring to quietly sip a small glass of dandelion wine while sitting next to Beidou while she drank a few beers and talked with her crew.
It was now the one year anniversary of when you had left Liyue Harbor, and conveniently, the Alcor was anchored there for a bit for a supplies run, imports drop off, and exports pickup. While out and about with Beidou, you had seen your ex in the wharf. They were about to come and talk to you, when you had pointed them out to Beidou. Beidou had slipped her arm around your waist, glaring at your ex, who glared back and turned heel to walk away.
Now, you sipped your wine beside Beidou, deep in thought. The loud atmosphere wasn't helping your anxieties, and you couldn't get your ex's glare out of your head. You didn't even realize you were completely zoned out until Beidou raised her arm to sling it around your shoulders, after she noticed you were zoned out.
Your arms flew up to shield yourself, and you spilt wine all over the both of you. The cup clattered to the floor, but luckily no one else noticed what just happened.
Beidou's face dropped and she quickly picked up the cup, setting it back down on the table.
"Men!" she called out. "Y/n and I are turning in early tonight! Make sure you scallywags have this cleaned up by the morning!"
The crew cheered their goodnights, raising their beers to their captain and her first mate. Beidou smiled, slipped an arm around your waist, and led you back to your guys' shared quarters.
"Alright doll, what happened just now?"
She closed the door behind her and sat on the bed next to you, looking at you with a certain softness that made you melt.
"I'm.. I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my ex, and how we saw them earlier, and I couldn't get their glare out of my head.. and I left them exactly a year ago.. I don't know why I flinched away from yo-"
Beidou cut you off by taking both of your hands into hers.
"Y/n, don't say sorry! You know, your ex wouldn't stand a chance against even my weakest crew member. They will never hurt you again."
"I don't doubt that for a second," you said, a small smile growing on your face, "Thank you for taking me in, Beidou."
"No, the pleasure is all mine. I couldn't ask for a better first mate. You're safe now, okay?" she smiled, squeezing your hands.
You looked into her eyes for a moment before throwing your arms around her. She squeezed you back, kissing your head.
"C'mon, let's shower and get this wine off of us." she giggled.
You laughed. "Yeah, let's."

Kaeya had told you his backstory, but you never mentioned yours. You just weren't ready to talk about it. Your parents had never been great, you always walked on eggshells around everyone, and everyone was all too rough with you, emotionally and physically.
You had met Kaeya in the tavern one night, while trying to drink away what you were feeling. Kaeya had noticed how obliterated you were and let Diluc know he was taking you to stay at the Knights Headquarters, and would keep an eye on you. The rest was history, and now you and Kaeya had been dating for a little over a year.
Kaeya had told you his backstory on Monday. That same day later on, you had a run in with your parents at Blanche's, where they had yelled at you for deciding to become a Knight, and proceeded to pick you apart from your very core.
In turn, you had been drinking a little more than usual for the entire week. You seemed more withdrawn and just not fully there. And it all came to a head when you were laying in bed next to Kaeya.
He went to put his arm over you, a loving gesture, but your arms came up on instinct to shield yourself. He sighed loudly.
"You're scared of me."
"Oh Archons- I didn't mean to- no, I swear it isn't-"
"You've been acting all angry and cold ever since I told you about my roots. I thought you would be the one who didn't leave me after I told them."
"No, Kaeya- please, just let me explain!"
"I'm listening."
You began to hesitantly tell him about your parents. His face grew angrier and angrier every time you told him another thing your parents had done to you.
"I'll kill them. I had no idea that that happened though. I'm sorry for assuming."
"It's alright, Kaeya. I didn't even consider that you might think I was acting weird because of where your confession."
"I swear they'll never get near you again, alright? You're safe now. It's alright."
He pulled you into him, wrapping you up in his strong arms and putting his legs over yours, making you feel protected and safe.
"No one will hurt you, not on my watch. I love you, Y/n."
"I love you too, Kaeya. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."
"No need for apologies, you were gonna tell me when you were ready. Now let's get some sleep, that dandelion wine I downed earlier is starting to get to me."
You giggled, burying your head further into his chest.
"Alright. Goodnight, Kaeya."
"Night, prince/ess."

You and Diluc had been dating for a few months now, you had met when he had needed to hire a new bartender, and you volunteered your mixing skills to the Angel's Share. You had caught his eye immediately, and he had asked you out on a date soon after you began your work there.
Your ex wasn't a kind person, to say the least, so you had been hesitant to say yes. You assured Diluc that this was just because your ex was unkind to you, but you had never mentioned physical harm. You hadn't wanted to worry him.
You were sitting on the couch with Diluc, his arm slung over your shoulders while you stared into the crackling flames of the fire burning before you. Diluc wasn't paying attention, as he was reading a book in his free hand.
He raised his arm up, attempting to adjust to a more comfortable position, but you misread this. Your arms were shielding your face in an instant, and Diluc was looking at you with a shocked and concerned face that quickly morphed to anger.
"I'm going to kill him." he growled/
You lowered your arms and looked down, avoiding looking him in the eye.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that."
"Did he hit you??"
"I, um, didn't want to worry you."
"Barbatos.. and this domestic abuser is just, what, roaming around Mondstat? No punishment for the pain he put you through?"
"I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want him to come and hurt me. I also didn't want to cause any trouble."
Diluc rubbed a hand over his face, before wrapping you in a hug.
"You're safe here, alright? I will never lay a hand on you to hurt you. I won't let anyone else hurt you either, okay?"
"Thank you.." your eyes welled up with tears, "I thought you would be upset that I didn't tell you."
"No, never. It's a hard thing to talk about. If you'd like, I have connections. We can have him arrested."
"I don't want to cause trouble.."
"You won't. He won't be able to hurt anyone else this way. But we can discuss this later. Would you care for a cup of tea?"
"That'd be nice. Thanks, Diluc."
"You're welcome, angel. Tell me if anyone hurts you again, alright? I'll protect you."
"Will do. I love you."
"I love you too."

abrupt confessions (xiao & diluc)
prompt: “you’re oblivious to their advances and they’re getting frustrated” pairings: diluc/gn!reader, xiao/gn!reader word count: 1.4k warnings: fluff, emotional constipation (it’s xiao and diluc)
a/n: sorry that xiao’s hcs are a bit shorter than diluc’s, i’m still getting comfy writing him. this is a part of my 50 follower celebration! please let this one show up in tags this time tumblr
DILUC
diluc never really considered himself an expert in romance. in fact, if you ask him upfront, he’d tell you that he barely knows anything about courting and how to charm someone.
but jeez, he didn’t think it’d be this hard.
as you sit at the counter of diluc’s bar after hours, excitedly trying new types of drinks that he’s concocted, diluc wonders how he’d entered the friendzone this badly.
he literally just handed you a non-alcoholic, bright pink, raspberry flavored drink he called love potion and you had taken it with a smile and complemented diluc on what a great friend he was.
diluc doesn’t feel entitled to your affections. he understands if you didn’t like him back and would respect whatever decision you made! but he at least hopes you’ll acknowledge the fact that he likes you so you can talk about it and get the conversation over with.
despite his bravery on the battlefield, he’s a bit nervous about telling you that he likes you straight to your face. however, this feels like the hundredth thing diluc has tried to subtly flirt with you.
he’s just glad kaeya isn’t here to laugh at his failed attempts. even kaeya picked up on diluc’s crush on you before you did.
all of the subtle tricks that diluc had read about in gossip magazines (yes, he had resorted to those) in order to get you to notice him were just coming across as friendly actions.
as the two of you struck up a small conversation about your last commission, diluc wanted nothing more than to ram his head through the counter of the bar.
“just ask them out,” kaeya had told him. “they’re not going to pick up on subtle hints.”
as much as diluc didn’t want to admit it, maybe, just maybe, his brother was right about something.
the days passed by and no matter what diluc did, you interpreted all of his advances as friendly. a bouquet of cecelias? what a nice housewarming gift! a nice bottle of dandelion wine? what a generous gift!
“(y/n), we need to talk,” diluc finally states, after his umpteenth gift in his attempt at courting you went without proper acknowledgement.
you look at him in concern, worried about his tense tone of voice. “did i do something wrong?” you ask, nervousness seeping into your words.
diluc’s eyes widened slightly. “no, no, it’s not that,” he assures you, quietly noting your sigh of relief. “actually, i think i might have done something wrong instead.”
“huh?” you respond. “i apologize if i gave off the impression that i am mad at you, i can assure you that i’m not.”
“no, no, it’s…” diluc sighs, trailing off. how should i put this? he asks himself. you’re clearly not lured by lavish gifts or swayed by acts of service, so he really has only one option left: telling you in a straightforward manner. it’s best to be forthright, he reassures himself.
“i like you.” diluc confesses, causing a radiant smile to spread across your face. this is it! diluc thinks to himself. they’re happy with my confession and they like me ba-
his thoughts are interrupted by your response. “aw, i like you too! you’re one of my best friends!” you chirp, your smile still persisting. you were happy with diluc finally being able to adequately express his emotions! you knew he struggled with that sort of thing and platonic affection was always difficult for him to express.
“no, (y/n), i like you in a romantic manner,” he states, his voice slightly dull. it wasn’t the most romantic of confessions, but diluc was exasperated. there was only so much he could do.
“oh, uh, yeah,” you scratch the back of your head as you feel your face heat up. this was awkward. what he just said certainly sounded like a confession but... “i... knew that? haven’t we been dating for the last few months?”
any emotion diluc had on his face is quickly replaced with an expressionless mask and dull eyes, but you knew diluc well enough to know that this expression meant that he was experiencing several forms of sheer panic.
you laugh nervously and lean in, placing a small kiss on his cheek. “i just thought you were being super chaste in courting me,” you confess, but diluc still looks dazed.
“if…” he begins, causing you to pull back ever-so-slightly. “if we’ve been dating for a few months, then can i..?”
diluc’s words trail off, but his subtle glance down to your lips lets you know exactly what he means. you smile softly and give a nod of permission as a scarlet blush spreads across his pale skin.
he leans in, his hands cupping your face gently, as if you were made of the finest porcelain, and kisses you, clarifying the confusion the two of you had accidentally held with each other for months.
XIAO
xiao, over his long lifetime, has learned many things. he’s quite certain that almond tofu is the tastiest food in all of liyue, wangshu inn is the place that irritates him the least, and the polearm is the best weapon for fighting.
however, one thing he has not learned is how to court someone -- especially when that certain someone is a fragile mortal.
he’s not quite sure how to court you, so he starts doing things for you that he would like others to do for him.
when you visit him, he offers you a piece of almond tofu. he offers to kill any foes that stand in your path. he offers to sit with you at night and watch the scenery together.
this type of courting lasts for approximately 48 hours. xiao is a forthright man, never having desired to beat around the bush. he’s not impatient, but he knows he only has a limited portion of his life to spend with you.
so, as you plan to exit his room in wangshu inn after spending time reading on his balcony while he brooded silently in the chair next to you, xiao realizes it’s now or never.
as you stop to open the door, xiao calls your name, causing you to turn around and look at him inquisitively.
before you can ask him what’s wrong, the adeptus puts his hand by your head, effectively pinning you between him and the door with one arm, leaving room for you to wriggle away if you felt uncomfortable.
“i wish to court you,” he states in a low tone. his amber eyes pierce into yours with an intensity you’ve never seen in his gaze before, but a soft vulnerability swims within their depths, disappearing as quickly as you notice it, like a skittish fish seeing a shadow.
“oh,” you breathe, overwhelmed by the intensity of the situation. the air between you and xiao is now thick enough to cut a knife through.
seemingly coming back to his senses, xiao drops his hand abruptly and takes a step back. if he wishes to apologize, he shows no indication of doing so. instead, his unfaltering, analytical gaze tries to interpret the emotion within yours.
“alright,” you respond, after a few more seconds of silence. “i’ll gladly let you court me.”
a soft exhale escapes xiao’s lips upon your confirmation and a soft, bashful smirk crosses his face, before he surges forward and pulls you close in a hug, hands splaying across your back.
you let out a small noise of surprise, but smile as xiao buries his face into the crook of your neck, conveying the emotions he had trouble expressing. you wrap one arm around xiao’s torso, returning his hug, and the other hand sneaks into his hair, playing with the fluffy green locks.
“thank you,” he murmurs, his breath hot against your skin.
“hm?” you respond, not having heard him properly, but rather than repeating himself, he only tightens his grip, as if he was afraid you would fall through his fingers. you begin to worry until you feel him smile, causing a soft smile to spread across your face as well.

Note
If you’re comfortable writing this, can you write a part 2 of the cheating scenario on Diluc’s side where the reader thinks about what he said more after leaving and realizes he didn’t consent to what happened and they go back to him?
Of course!! I guess I ended up making him the more redeemable... i should mention the last part of that story was very much him trying to... well. the warning will tell you.
[[ WARNING: ANGST, MENTION OF SELF HARM, MENTION OF R@PE ]]
[[ Summary: After a mistake, one where he could barely think and essentially poisoned by alcohol... you realize, after some thought, that it wasn't so much he cheated, but he was... sick. Literally.
Part One Here
Word Count: 1'962 ]]
You had left him, in a fit of anger and pain and betrayal. He told you that he cheated, and while, a little later, you could commend him for telling you so bluntly, without any flowery extra dialogue or excuses, only the pure truth...
That doesn't change what happened. If it happened once, it'll happen again.
You sat alone, glad you hadn't taken him up on his offer to move in just yet... You had a few things over there, that you were probably never going to get back... but that was fine. Things could be replaced. Sadly, time couldn't be.
For awhile you just minded your own business, guiltily thinking over everything. Were you good enough? Is that why he cheated? Or were the two of you nothing?
You found yourself walking to the Angel's Share, wanting to see some old friends to talk to... just to feel a little better, but you froze as the door was open--What were you doing, walking right into his establishment that he often bartended...
No, but he wasn't here. Charles was sitting there, and he glanced at you, a look of... pain, perhaps? in his eye, but he said nothing, pouring a mug for some random man, who took it and walked off immediately.
You decided to just leave, without a single word. No one stopped you, but why would they?
That night, you instead went to the Cat's Tail, not touching a drop of alcohol, simply some non-alcoholic, but sugary sweet drinks as you pet the kitties, leaving for a few moments to get them some treats. It was a nice distraction, even if that fluffy red cat in the corner kept reminding you of Diluc...
Moving was sounding like a tempting option, but you'd give yourself a few more days at least before making a serious decision. Your heart was aching and tender, you needed at least a little time.
The next day, you went out, stocked up on food, and did nothing but hide inside from the rest of the world. The next, you didn't even leave, you just hid.
Finally, you decided to try Angel's Share. You weren't as familiar with the people in the Cat's Tail... and maybe Kaeya was there? He knew Diluc better than even you, and he could, maybe, give some outside insight... even if he hated your guts, he could at least shed some light onto the reality.
You dressed oddly, trying to hide from the world in a hood, head lowered. As you walked in, however, you realized this was unnecessary, as Charles was still working the counter.
You took your hood off, and sat at the bar, "Hey, Charles."
"Greetings," he said, having been putting something under the counter as you sat down, "What do you want?"
"Is Kaeya here?" You asked... he looked at you oddly.
"No, left in a rush. Some Knightly business." He probably knew more, he was a smart man who knew when to speak and when to seal his lips.
"... has, uhm," you felt like an idiot, but you wanted to ask, "Has Diluc been around? I haven't heard of anything about him lately." Not a total lie, there was always gossip about him. But--he sighed, and shook his head.
"No one in Mondstadt has seen him in a few days."
Your heart sunk--you aren't even entirely sure why.
"Some wonder if he died, and they're trying to figure what to do with the Winery," He looked at you oddly, "Some say he's sick," He began cleaning a glass, "Some say he's just left on some private business. But that's all I heard."
You knew that, just before... that night, there had been high-strung gossip about some drama, about how Diluc had caused issue with the Knights again ( something thrown drastically out of proportion ), and if there was sudden silence...
"Sorry for taking up your time, thank you, I remembered I have something to do," He just nodded as you pushed yourself up, rushing out of the building.
Charles just shook his head, knowing better to even mutter... someone always liked to listen.
...
"Master Diluc," Adelinde said, her voice soft, "Do you need anything."
"I'm fine." He said, weakly. His skin was pale, and he looked beyond just sick. Too much alcohol, even a glass caused him to spew blood, from his dramatic moment where he wanted to spew out his insides to stop breathing, it had taken a massive toll on his body.
However, he had done little to nothing, too weak to fight it. A broken heart plus physical damage was a battle seldom won. But, he would, somehow, even if another part of him died.
He knew better. After... after what had happened, the only other time he truly tried at intimacy ended to agonizingly, he shouldn't have tried a second time, but he did.
He would not try a third.
The door to his room opened, and Adelinde walked over, the sound of hushed whispers, before it clicked shut and she turned back to Diluc.
"You... have a visitor."
Diluc was silent.
"It's... them." Adelinde said, with no small degree of fear and worry, and for the first time, he pushed himself up--his head was reeling, flopping back onto the bed, his hand over his eye, groaning.
Blood loss did that.
"Did they," he inhaled, "Did they say what they wanted?"
"They said 'just to talk.'
He, much slower this time, shifted to sit up. "Have them sit in the main room and wait, I need a moment."
"Are you alright alone?" She asked, as though it was not the only thing he had asked for. His silence was enough to tell her, and she left the room, the door clicking behind her.
He got dressed--Tempted to wear his normal coat, but he opted for a simple outfit that looked decent enough. He was too tired for anything else. Finally, he got up, and walked slowly, wondering if he should have had you come straight in... but, no, he knew better to ask of that.
You were sitting, waiting and twiddling your thumbs, looking up as he walked by. You stood, but he sat down in a chair near to you, but giving you enough space that you'd have to stand up to reach him...
A tactical move.
You sat back down, trying to just get a little closer.
"I'm very tired," he said, "So please tell me what you need from me."
His words were harsh, he was not trying to send you away, to scare you off. He enjoyed, to a degree, seeing you close once again, but it was agony as well, ripping his heart in two. He would not prolong the conversation, but he would not force it to a halt.
Emotions were hard to endure.
"I-I just... I didn't hear anything about you recently." You were worried.
Were you afraid of having to live with the guilt of an unstable man?
"I'm sick, and weak, but fine. I've just been recovering."
You swallowed thickly, "May I ask what from?"
He hesitated, tugging at his sleeves, wishing he had put on a pair of gloves to fiddle with, "Alcohol reaction. It tore up my insides quite badly." He explained, "I'll be fine in a week or so."
... You knew it hurt him, but... this bad?
"That's... okay." You didn't know what to say... and finally sighed. "I want to... I didn't, I left too soon. I didn't... think about you at all, and I'm sorry."
"Don't be. I cheated, that's all there was."
If he was honest, he felt disgusted. He didn't... he didn't remember the face of the woman--was it even a woman? But he felt... awful, sick, torn up. Just like...
The first time.
He shuddered.
"Is that all?" He asked.
"I want to know what happened," you stated, half wanting to hope maybe it was a misunderstanding. If he had, while in his drunken, and admittedly air deprived state, kissed some woman and thought it was you... You could forgive that.
However, he just looked down.
"I..." he swallowed thickly, "I don't remember much. I was pressured into drinking alcohol, and I couldn't spit it all out."
"Who pressured you?"
"I don't remember. It was... some sort of tense situation. I think there was a man, and a woman, and she wouldn't drink it. It was... tense... I think I drank it. She was upset, and eventually ran off, I don't remember."
"... Was it drugged?"
Diluc's eyes widened for a moment.
"I," he struggled to think, "That may have been why I drank it, to... stop her from drinking it."
You were scared to hear the rest of the story.
"I drank it, Charles was there, and I went to the back. I don't-everything was fuzzy. Someone's mouth... on me, then they..."
There were tears in his eyes, and he wobbled a little in his seat.
"I'm sorry, I... I don't think I can keep speaking, it... hurts."
"It hurts?"
He nodded, tears on his face, with all the vulnerability of a young child who was scared and alone.
You weren't stupid.
"Did you... want it?" You asked, and he shook his head,
"No," he was choked up, openly crying as he tried to hide it, "No, no... I didn't."
You didn't care about this distance, standing up, gently resting your hand on his leg, and then holding him. He hugged you, but he felt so weak.
"I'm so sorry," You felt yourself tearing up--you had to be strong. Not only did something horrific happen to him, which he could scarcely speak of, but you had made it all worse by punishing him for it.
"I want to be there for you, I want to take care of you... I'm sorry, I fucked up. I understand if you're upset, or mad, and if you don't forgive me..."
Suddenly, and for only a moment, his hug had crushing force, pulling you closer.
"I just don't want to be alone."
"You won't be alone," you cooed, sweetly, "Do... you want to go to bed?"
He nodded, weakly whimpering, and you helped him to his feet, the two of you walking ahead to the bedroom--Not missing how badly he struggled. You knew his allergy to alcohol was bad, but this bad?
You made your way in, ignoring the harsh and confused looks of the staff, shutting the door behind you.
Everything looked the same as you left, and you helped him sit down, how he... slumped, weakly.
"Do you want to get undressed?"
Slowly, he nodded, and you started with his shirt, pulling it off, tossing it to the side, resolving to let the maids deal with it later... But, you froze, seeing bandages on his arms, you grabbing his hand and pulling it a little closer to you, looking at it.
"What happened?" You asked, and he was... quiet.
"I felt..." He was trying to think, and refused to look at you, "Unclean. I... In a moment, I... thought I could claw it off."
"... Is this why you're so weak."
Slowly, he nodded, and then looked up at you with the look of a puppy that was about to be punished, "Are you mad at me?" He asked, voice aquiver as he was about to cry.
Are you mad, you thought, yes, but only at whoever hurt you.
"No," you said, sitting down beside him, hugging him, feeling him lean his weight into you, "But I want you to look for help, someone who can help you."
He nodded, still weakly holding onto you.
"I didn't think it'd happen again."
Again. How horrifying a single word could be.
"You don't have to deal with it by yourself, this time."

"I've been thinking about a little break from us.." you said and stopped look at you boyfriend and looked at the floor
"w-what?"he said not sure whether you we're joking or not
"Are you serious!?" he chuckled "I just didn't think that you would just think to leave me after everything we've been through". He was laughing. Like a crazy person you slowly stood up and looked him in the eyes "Yes I think we should stop seeing each other in general it's just I can't deal with this anymore I'm tired of thinking I'm not good enough for you when I know damn well you-"the tears you desperately didn’t want to fall started to welled up in the corners of your eyes making it hard to see. "Your the one whose not good enough for m-me." you finished your voice cracking and shaking a bit. He looked at the floor and then look at you over and over trying to think of something that he would do to stop you from doing this he didn't want you to leave him what did he do wrong. Did he leave too much? Did he not show enough affection towards you? What did he do wrong...
Why wasn't he good enough for you did you know that he was in the Fauti? Did someone tell you? How could you possibly know he neve told you? He planned on it but not now, not like this? Anything else but this he thought "Goodbye Childe." you smiled as the tears fell down your face and walked away not ever looking back....
That was five years ago.. You thought about the time you had together sometimes and looked down at your feet. "I wonder what would have happened if we stayed together." you said and sat down to rest looking at the wine glass in front of you. "I rather you not think about the Fatui around meitmakes me feel rather sick." a tall red haired man hair high in a ponytail said too you looking at down at you. "And stop drinking wine it's bad for the baby" he took the wine glass away from you "we'll I guess Kaeya is a bad influence on me." you smiled a little and looked at him "I'm glad we got married Diluc" you said.
THE END
idk what this is sorry it so random I literally just wanted to do this I thought it was funny too bc Childe is in the Fatui and Diluc hates the Fatui it's rather fun. I don't think this is really angst tbh but why not add it

Birthdays through the years (Diluc x reader)
.........*years ago*.........
You stood in front of the large doors of the Dawn Winery, your hands fiddling with the wrapped box with both nervousness and excitement. You really hope that your best friend Diluc would like the gift. You jumped a little when the door opened, revealing Crepus who saw you and gave a warm smile.
“Ah, you arrived. Diluc has been anxiously waiting for you, (y/n).” Crepus said, opening the door for you. As you walked in, Crepus called out for his son, who immediately ran out from a room. Large red eyes widened with excitement and ran into you to hug you tightly, squishing your cheeks together.
“(y/n)! I’m so happy you came!” He cried out with a big smile. You laughed as well, pulling back a little and petting his fluffy red hair. The two of you left Crepus to head into the dining room where his adopted brother, Kaeya was waiting in and gave you a small wave. Despite being the son of a famous man in Mondstadt, Diluc preferred having small birthdays with his family and best friend. You came from a humble family who worked with Crepus for a time. During that time, you often visited the Dawn Winery with your parents where you met the brothers and became close friends with them. You and Diluc became especially close to which you two never seemed to separate.
“(y/n) look at this. Kaeya and father made me this for my birthday.” Diluc said as the both of you sat down and he pointed to a white cake with red frosting, two slices cut out for the brothers.
“Wow, that looks delicious.” You complimented, causing the blue hair boy to blush shyly. A maid proceeded to cut you a slice so you decided to pass Diluc your present. “Here Diluc. I hope you like it.” Diluc thanked you and took the present, opening it rather quickly. Kaeya peeked over a little as Diluc pulled out a red gem attached through a gold rope. “My mom taught me how to make it. It’s supposed to go around your collar, like a necklace.” You explained, feeling a little nervous as Diluc stared at the present.
“This is really pretty. Thank you, (y/n).” Diluc thanked with a bright smile, immediately relieving you of all the anxiousness you’ve been feeling.
.........*a few years later*.........
Time passed and much has changed in your life. You started taking a liking to making trinkets and jewellery. You have made a number, including a blue earring for your friend Kaeya, and women started to take notice of them and wanted some for themselves. Thus you became quite well-known in Mondstadt and noticeably grew more independent from the nervous child you were before.
As you busied with your hobby-turned-job, Diluc and Kaeya grew to be strong young men who joined the Knights of Favonius. You knew it was a dream of Diluc considering the number of times you played knights with the two of them. And you were happy to see him rise up well, gaining much respect and admiration among the other knights. Kaeya seemed to have just tagged along with his brother but he too made a name for himself as a man with wits and skills.
Despite not being able to spend as much time together as when you were kids, you and Diluc still had a strong relationship. When you were both free, you would meet on a quiet grassy hill to talk about your lives. Diluc would share about his training with the knights and the people who he has met, including the successor of the Gunnhildr Clan Jean. You shared about the new materials from different regions which you tested making trinkets with, sharing how you would love to travel to those places yourself one day. No matter how tired Diluc was from training, he always seemed to make time for you. You were after all a dear friend of his and he liked the idea of having you involved in his life.
Every time you two talked, you always noticed the red gem hanging around Diluc’s neck. A present from you which he has held dear to all those years. It was just one of the quiet actions which the boy has done to show how much he appreciated your company. Other than that, many have noticed how much happier Diluc seemed when he was with you. Crepus liked to joke about how he felt relieved of leaving the Dawn Winery one day to the both of you, to which made the both of you shy about the thought.
Though, Diluc never once denied it.
Speaking of the Dawn Winery, you were right now decorating the living room for Diluc and Crepus’ arrival. It was Diluc’s coming of age ceremony and you wanted to give him a surprise when he returns home. So you came early and worked with the staff to get everything ready. You headed to the couch where you rummaged through your bag and pulled out a small package. It was a handmade lanyard which you hoped would be useful for Diluc with his new rank as captain. You were thrilled when Diluc shared the news and you immediately went to work on this as your way to say congratulations.
You smiled to yourself and placed the present on the table, waiting with the rest of the staff for the masters of the house. But all of you would have never guessed the horrible incident which would change everything which seemed normal.
.........*current year*.........
It was late at night in the Angel Share and the red hair bartender was cleaning the last of the glasses for the day. He had gotten a good amount of information for his personal mission and was ready to head back home to prepare for his quest. He heard the door opened and was about to remark about the tavern being closed when he saw who was standing by the door and his eyes widened slightly.
“Diluc. I’m glad to catch you before you left.” You said as you pulled down your hood and walked over to the bar seat.
“You know the bar is open during the day, right?” Diluc remarked, placing the glass on the tabletop.
“There’s too many people during that time. This is the only time I can talk to you without anyone bothering us.” You said. Diluc hummed in response and went to the bottle shelf. Meanwhile you quietly observed him, smiling softly. It had been three years since the unfortunate incident and it changed your lives.
Obviously Diluc became more distant and somewhat cold, an irony of his Pyro vision. The death of his father and his leave from the Knights of Favonius made you see him less, sometimes not at all. You tried to reach out to him but something told you to keep your distance for the time being, only showing your silent support on the sides.
It was only when Diluc needed help with a commission and he knew that you usually travelled across lands for your job. He trusted you and let you in on private affairs of his, including his persona as the Darknight Hero. You jumped at the chance to help him in any way you could, which included gathering intel from people of different cities and bringing new materials back to the Dawn Winery.
Because of that, the two of you begun to spend more time together. Your more optimistic nature and light talk of what you’ve seen in your travels slowly broke the walls of Diluc’s heart and the man started to become himself around you. You counted the times he managed a small smile in front of you, being happy with yourself every time he did.
“How was your trip to Liyue?” Diluc asked as he passed you a glass of your favourite drink.
“It was great. Working with the jewellers there was inspirational. Plus the experience of their culture was a nice refresher.” You answered and took a sip of your drink. “Also, I got some good information about the Abyss.”
“Sounds good. We’ll talk about more about it back in the Winery.” Diluc nodded and said. You both shared a silent moment with short chats for a while before you remembered something.
“I almost forgot. I got you something.” You went through your bag before pulling out a parcel. “It’s a speciality tea from Liyue. I know you don’t like alcohol so I thought you might like to try this.” Diluc took the parcel and a nice natural aroma wafted into his nose.
“It smells good. I’ll have someone make tea for us when we return.” You nodded and hopped over the counter to wash your empty glass. As you were, you jumped a little when strong arms wrapped around your waist and a warm breath hit the crook of your neck. You couldn’t help but smile, knowing how touchy Diluc actually is when in private. And judging by his action, it would seem that someone missed you.
“You know, I only managed to come back this quickly because it’s your birthday tomorrow. I know you don’t see the need to celebrate it but do you think you want to do something special? Just the two of us.” A small smile formed on Diluc’s face and he lifted his head to place a feather-like kiss on your forehead.
“I would really enjoy that.”

Diluc and Kaeya on: fem!s/o getting hurt
WARNING: angst/hurt with comfort
You end up in the hospital after a series of rookie mistakes. It's not your first time, so you reassure your teammates and plead them to keep quiet about it. It only takes a few weeks or only one day, considering that elemental healing will speed up the process. All you have to do is lie down and pray that no one spills the beans until things are better or confirmed...
Tumblr media
Kaeya is in the center of Mondstadt so it’s impossible to avoid him, he did suspect that your mission is going on longer than usual
Ah, but what was the point of secrecy? Kaeya is too good at sweet talking that he found out in an hour - majority of that hour spent hunting down your party members.
He'll most likely "accidentally" stumble into your party members and bait them to a willing, subtle interrogation
He'll tease out little hints and piece everything together without even needing a direct answer
If you had a minor injury
He would take some time on the way to buy you a snack or gift to make you feel better. He spends a little longer more than he would like, cursing a bit and choosing one of the three presents he thought you might like. You hear rhythmic knocks on your door and the door swings open, Kaeya dramatically walking in with a smug smirk on his face. "How are you doing?"
You roll your eyes as Kaeya saunters in, sitting next to you and holding a gift in his hands. He laughs, but he looks nervous. His leg shakes erratically despite him pushing down on it, knuckles white. Then you remember the way his eyes flickering around the room, averted by his vexing smirk. Before you can talk about it, he interrupts with a distraction, the gift. He observes you with a smile as you brighten up at the sight of it, feeling a lot more better at the sight of you.
Kaeya continues to distract you with teases that get you all riled up (adorable and hilarious in his opinion) and discussing the nervous nature of your encountered party member. You take the opportunity to retort about his nervousness. He looks stunned for a second, but he chuckles, “I knew I couldn’t get anything past you..” He hesitates. “I was worried when your friends looked so anxious, I was preparing myself for...” ‘The worst.’ Kaeya leaves it as it is, bitter smile in the pensive atmosphere. You clutch his hand tighter and Kaeya lightens up, reciprocating and knitting your hands together.
“When they said it was minor and you would recover soon, it was like a boulder was lifted off my chest.” He pats your head, his touch lingering longer and his gaze fond. “I’m glad, glad that you’re okay.”
If you had a major injury
"What?" His charming smile disappears, words slipping through a frown of gritted teeth, daring (even hopeful) for the person to say it's a joke. The answer doesn't matter, he can tell from their expression. He only allows a flash of pure terror to be seen by them, pushing through the crowds of people to reach the hospital.
When he bursts into the room to see you, his eyes fixated on yours. He freezes at the door, processing everything now while you are there, alive, in front of him. He refuses the voice in his head feeding into his fears, making him scared to come closer for a confirmation. He might have to face it: a loss and an emptiness.
But then you weakly smile and reach out for him; and he can finally breathe again. He is so urgent that he stumbles to get there, to give you comfort. Finally, when he sits next to you, you can see closer the joy but weariness in his expression. He has a smile unlike Kaeya, ridden with anxieties and unable to fool even a domestic dog. He pecks your hand and sandwiches it between his, familiar warmth wrapping around your hand. You start to fall asleep, exhausted by the events of today, and Kaeya overlooks worryingly. These injuries happen all the time, it's part of the job, but it doesn't make it any better to see - especially when it involves you. He swears and curses under his breath, not wanting to wake you up. 'It's best for her to get some rest', he tries to assure himself from his concerns, but he can't stop his stupid leg from shaking. He hangs his head, still clutching your hand, and he allows a few tears to fall despite himself. He closes his eyes and focuses on the touch of you, calming down and slowing down his breaths knowing that you are here, alive and well, next to him.
When you wake up, Kaeya's head lies uncomfortably asleep with a disturbed expression on his face. Your hand is intertwined with his while you both were sleeping, seeking that familiar heat that made you feel ever better. He mumbles in his sleep, his grip tightening on your hand as often as his eyebrows furrow. Your touch soothes him, the tension and wrinkles on his face vanishes when you lovingly stroke his hair or gently caress his cheek. As long as he can feel your warmth, he can sleep much better.
Tumblr media
He would either find it through his acquaintance in Mondstadt’s hospital or be told at the winery.
It’s not pleasant either way, especially since there would be a period of unsettling silence after the metaphorical beans have been spilt
His interrogating is less subtle than Kaeya, very straight forward and to the point so he can get to where you are faster with preparation
Diluc uses the classic, intimidation method that is amplified by his resolve to see you and assure himself that you are safe
If you had a minor injury
You hear soft knocks on your door and a tentative voice asking from your lover, giving you a forewarning before he comes in. He doesn’t waste a second to be by your side, assessing your injury in closer detail then lightly scolding you out of the worry. It might take 2-6 minutes just for him to calm down and get it all out. Diluc is sensitive to your injuries, fearing the worst when anything happens, and he finds it childish; always trying to hide it with his lectures. This grumpy façade falls quickly, like always, after reassurance from you and inspecting your wellbeing with his own eyes.
Diluc sighs, "...but it's a minor injury, and you’re Y/n L/n.” He smiles assuredly and it encourages you because of how confident he is of you.
He’ll cling to you, self-aware of his behaviour and evidently embarrassed about it, but does it nonetheless with pink cheeks. You pretend not to see when he hesitantly leans on you or when his hand lingers on yours while you both chat about everything else. Soon you’ll find him pecking your cheek or kissing you more than usual
“It’s to make you feel better.” He mumbles going in for another after you tease him about it. Kisses are one of the things he uses to be expressive for his love for you, so he becomes generous when you get hurt like this and gets more affectionate to hopefully “love” the pain away.
If you had a major injury
Diluc is shell shocked; colour draining from his face in favour of raw fear. He is reminded of the dreadful past and it toys with his heart, stringing it along to his vulnerability of you. He fails to fully grasp his thoughts but his legs move on their own to see you, to feel you and to know for sure that you're okay. He pushes and shoves through people in his way, silent to anyone that approaches. He finds it hard to breathe, maybe it's how he ran to the hospital or the tight cinching in his chest.
When he enters your room, he'll take in your form and process the injuries you've sustained. He looks more horrified and panicked the longer he looks. He beats himself over it and swallowing the growing shame in his throat. ‘How could I have let this happen?’ Past buried memories come alive and it gets harder for him to stay grounded. These things don’t go away easily, he knows from experience, and he’s afraid of the unknown future and of what will happen next. What if you don’t recover and... Bad thoughts choke him up and he wallows deeper into it.
But then you smile, like nothing is wrong; even though that small action took so much energy and you end up wincing in pain. Diluc looks heartbroken.
No moment is spared when he is next to you, he'll even fall on his knees and just, cry. It's like all this tension in his chest is released at once. It's scary, worrying even, and you start to wonder who's supposed to worry over who. You stroke his hair and mumble comforting words, his sobbing dissolves into embarrassed sniffles. He remarks on it, but you reassure him that it's endearing.
You both might fall asleep like that; your hand on his nest of hair and his head on the hospital bed. There are some times you wake up and see Diluc awake in cold sweats, tightly gripping on the covers of your bed, pale as a ghost in the night. He tells you to go back to sleep and rest, but you wait until he does. He guilty stares at you as you stay up, half-awake at 2am, about how it’s fine and how it’s going to be okay. He shakes his head and looks pitifully at you, flinching at your injuries - more effected than you are. It makes you upset and a little frustrated, so you sigh and reach out to him. He leans close and you kiss him on the forehead, expressing a passionate-believe me glare. Then he remembers that he trusts you, you are the Y/n he loves. He smiles gratefully, and when you wake up in the morning he is still snoring asleep.
🌼💫 Hello, sorry for the inactivity, it’s just that I got quite stuck. But now it’s over and this is the result :) This is a very very long post, so I had to put a “keep reading” or else people uninterested would have to keep scrolling for 5 minutes. A reminder is that this is what I hc Diluc and Kaeya to act, it’s not definite and it’s fine if you disagree because this is imaginary and based on subjective perceptions. If you do enjoy these hcs, do check out my blog for more and tell me if you do!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaeya was the younger brother of Master Diluc. The anonymous man writing to you said he’d had a brother, you assumed younger and now that you knew which was the older of the pair, everything was pointing to the man being Master Diluc.
You couldn’t lie you were frazzled. Could it really be Master Diluc writing to you? You of all people? You weren’t special in any way, no matter how many times Victoria praised you for your intelligence and skills. You didn’t feel so smart right now though, seeing as though Master Diluc had completely slipped your mind as being the writer; you felt ignorant.
Now that you were walking quietly behind Master Diluc, it made sense. The encrypted words, expensive and thoughtful gifts; Cecilia’s, Qingxin imported specially from Liyue, hell you were even gifted a gorgeous silver bracelet, a red jewel in the center that looked very similar to Diluc’s vision dangling by his left thigh. And although both Captain Kaeya and Master Diluc were well off in terms of Mora, it was your understanding that Diluc was the wealthiest person in Mondstadt, he could afford such commodities anytime he wished.
Should you ask him or would you just embarrass yourself?
No, you should respect his wishes... If he was in fact the anonymous man, he’d wanted to stay that way for reasons he’d already stressed to you. The least you could do to return the favor was respect his decision and not force him to come clean... No matter how curious you were.
By the time you were at the Knights headquarters - you have your own place, headquarters is just better to sleep it when you have early mornings - the cool night breeze had set in as well as the silver, twinkling stars. You stood awkwardly at your door, eyes frantically looking anywhere but those red hues. Master Diluc seemed to also be doing the same much to your comfort. At least he was feeling similarly to you.
“I hope this doesn’t get you in any kind of trouble.” Master Diluc suddenly said, hand sheepishly going to scratch the back of his neck.
You tilted your head, confused. “Hmm?”
He blinked at you, eyes going wide for a minute; embarrassment it seemed. “Do Knights not have strict curfews anymore?” He asked.
Ah, the curfew rule. You had been a young Knight when that was implemented, though, in recent years, it had fizzled down to nothing really. All thanks to a few rule-breakers, a few years back. Then rule had been made for Knights, Captains, everyone. Though now it mostly applied to Knights in training, obviously no one followed the rule.
“Oh, no, the rule was changed a while back,” You said. “Young Knights in training kept ignoring the curfew and it became a hassle for the Captains to go search them during bed checks at headquarters, they pulled an invisible plug.” A look of distaste appeared on the young man's face, you frowned in response.
“Of course,” He muttered. “Inefficiency at its best.” You watched silently as he folded his arms across his chest and looked off into the distance to his left. He seemed to be trying to control his anger and irritation, or at least keep it locked down in front of you. Though he was failing, the scowl was evidence on his handsome face. And almost as soon as the words had come out of his mouth, he’d seemed to have regretted it. He snapped his head back to look at you and rushed to apologize.
“I’m sorry, I meant no disrespect-”
You waved a hand out in the air interrupting him. “I agree,” His face relaxed. You what? “The curfews helped us all be more responsible. There was less slacking off and rogue Knights, that’s for sure,” He watched in astonishment as you laughed it off as if he hadn’t just offended you and your fellow Knights.
“My Captain still follows the rules, to an extent. The trainees are required to live at headquarters, they can’t leave until they’re eighteen or get promoted to a higher position. Knights like me or higher, on the other hand, that rule doesn’t apply to us, unless there’s a far away commission the next morning.” You explained. Master Diluc seemed to visibly relax, you assumed he was glad to hear someone still followed the rules.
“Don’t tell my captain I said this, but he’s a real old-timer; that’s why he follows your rules.” You laughed again, a small smile formed on the redhead's face, you were surprised and caught off guard by that.
“A good man.” He approved, you laughed again. Archons, was that music to his ears.
“That he is.”
Diluc enjoyed the silence settling in, that’s for sure. He only realized how late it had gotten until after he’d watched you yawn, eyes closing slightly as your body seemed to shrink with each inhale and exhale; you were tired, and no doubt had duties tomorrow. How ignorant of him to keep you up like this, even if he had more of a chance to speak with you and be in your presence.
“I shouldn’t keep you any longer,” You heard him say, watching as he took a few steps back. “I’m sure you have a busy day tomorrow.”
That was partially true, you did have an early day tomorrow. You weren’t sure what your duties would be though, maybe paperwork, more training, a commission or two? You would check with your Captain. But jeez, why had things slipped your mind so easily today?
“Yes... I nearly forgot.”
He chuckled, adding, “You seem to have forgotten a lot today.” You giggled tiredly.
“I agree. I promise, I’m usually not like this,” You said. “I did have a question, but it’s quite late...”
A single eyebrow quirked up, he shifted to lean on one side, cockily almost. “So, you’ve remembered?” Shit.
“Yes and no?” You replied, realizing, either way, you’d gotten yourself in a mildly sticky situation.
Okay... At Dawn Winery, it had completely slipped your mind. But it seemed the fresh air and break from Victoria’s amazing story had helped you regain your memory. You remembered your question now, it was in bold, red words right in front of you. But you’d decided to not ask him, not until he came forward and revealed himself if he really was the anonymous man he would. Maybe you’d give it a week...?
“Interesting...” Diluc thought to himself, you cringed to yourself, fearful of being caught lying, he seemed to be onto you. “When you remember, will you come find me?” He teased. “Stop by for a drink one time; tea, wine, juice, anything. My mother really enjoyed your company...”
Master Diluc knew. He had to of known you were lying. He was far too intelligent to not know.
“I- Sure.”
-
Diluc had never thought he’d see you in his presence so soon, that’s for sure. He thought he’d only see you when he decided to confess, which he was still working on. He never thought he’d be walking you home, but you had been great company and what kind of man would he be if he let a woman walk home by herself? Even if you were a Knight.
He was a bundle of nerves the whole way even after he arrived back home, to greet his mother was oddly still up.
“Mother, you’re awake?” He asked, stepping into the house for the last time tonight, eyes scanning the room to see the fireplace lit and crackling, the older woman sitting on an armchair. And would you look here, his annoying brother was present as well. That caused Diluc’s face to crease in annoyance. “And you’re here. Why?” He spat, the Cavalry Captain rolled his eyes.
“I don’t have a bedtime,” She teased, Kaeya smiling. Those two were like two peas in a pod once together, his mother was definitely the more reasonable and tolerant. “And leave your brother alone, it’s from my understanding that he helped you with that girl, Y/n.”
Diluc rolled his eyes. Of course, Kaeya would tell their mother, but the real question was, had he told others? He definitely wouldn’t be surprised if the entirety of Mondstadt knew of his crush on you, all thanks to his annoying little brother.
“It’s no one's business, but mine,” The wine tycoon snapped. Victoria’s face scrunched up in anger, eyes glaring daggers. “Sorry...” He apologized, moving around the couches and armchairs, to finally sit on the loveseat not occupied, his hands went to his face, elbows rested on his knees.
“So,” Kaeya started, earning a testing look from the woman across from him. A look of warning. “You walked her home, anything else happen?” Kaeya couldn’t help but smirk to himself.
“What’re you implying?” The eldest snapped.
Kaeya shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know, did you maybe tell her, kiss her?” Victoria hissed, nearly launching herself over the arm of her chair to swat her youngest on the back of his head. He groaned in annoyance.
“Not yet.”
“Are you going to?” The cryo user probed.
Archons, Kaeya always had too many idiotic questions. Nosy bastard. Of course, he’d tell you, eventually.
“I’m working on it...” Kaeya chuckled to himself, Victoria just stared at the redhead with sadness. She felt bad, you were a great young woman, she saw that. Hell, she hadn’t even known you for an hour, but she already approved. She wanted this to work out for her eldest, he’d always been the one with the most burdens on his shoulders it seemed, he always picked up the entire world's troubles and carried them on strong shoulders. He deserved someone good, someone, like you. “Now, don’t you have better things to do? Like getting drunk? Go away.” He sounded like a child all over again, Victoria thought. He was unfolding right here, he was still her little boy after all.
Kaeya frowned, seeing how bothered his brother seemed. An eye focused on Victoria who was mouthing for him to go upstairs, he decided to listen for once surprisingly. With less sass in his step, Kaeya found himself wandering towards the stairs and eventually disappearing up them.
As soon as the trouble maker was gone, Victoria shifted in her seat so she could fully face her eldest son.
“Do you love her?” She suddenly asked, Diluc’s heart seemed to speed up significantly. “It’s alright if you’re not sure, I’ve been there many times-”
“Yes, I do.”
He watched with an embarrassed hue on his face as his mother smiled a genuine, bright smile. She was happy for him, proud, she approved. That’s all he’d wanted. He wishes his father could meet you, he’d like you, he was sure of it.
“That’s great. I’m very happy for you,” She said proudly. “You should tell her. She’s a great woman, she’ll accept you with open arms.” She reassured though Diluc could only shake his head.
“You cannot be so sure.” He mumbled sadly, Victoria clicked her tongue with the shake of her head, leaning forward in her seat.
“I can,” She said, matter a factly. “She reminds me of myself when I was younger, though a little less reckless and in a much better headspace. She’s sure of herself I can tell, even though she looked quite frazzled in your presence; but all young women get like that around my sons.” The woman added with a teasing smile, Diluc just waved her off nonchalantly. He didn’t care about any other woman, you mattered most, above all.
“You have nothing to worry about,” She reassured. “I’m not sure if her feelings are romantically driven, but I can tell she respects you a great deal. Poor thing though, she was so nervous she looked like a shaking leaf... I’ll have to help her feel more comfortable, after all, she might as well be my future daughter-in-law.”
Diluc nearly froze. Archons, his mother was something else... “Mother, I haven’t even told her I’m the one behind the letters-”
“Nonsense!” She said over excitedly. “You can’t tell me you haven’t thought about marrying her?”
“Maybe even a family...?” He knew she was getting antsy for grandchildren, though he couldn’t understand why so soon. She wasn’t even in her fifties yet, and he and Kaeya were barely into adulthood. She’d had a hard enough time raising two helions at such a young age and then by herself after their father's death, so why was she resilient for him to start a family? He’d never understand mothers' need for grandchildren...
“Marriage and children are two different things... I haven’t given much thought towards children,” He said honestly. “I always assumed I’d either be alone for life or marry for political reasons... Father had always said Jean was perfect for me,” Victoria frowned at his statement. “And children well... they don’t particularly like me.”
“Nonsense. I knew your father for ten years or so, and let me say, he’d be proud of whatever decision you make. Jean, Y/n- he just wanted you happy,” She explained wholeheartedly, words filled with sincerity. “And let me just say, no other child will look at you with such love and adoration, other than your own. They’ll hold you in the highest regards, then it won’t even matter if other kids like you or not. The only validation you’ll need is from your own child,” Her eyes glittered with joy, a smile forming on her beautiful face. “I can say that with one hundred and ten percent honesty and certainty, from experience with you and Kaeya.”
Diluc’s heart warmed at that. She always knew what to say and he always felt this great sense of pride from her whenever talking about being their mother. She enjoyed it so much, she was proud she’d taken the offer ten or so years ago, the best decision she’d ever made.
“I much like your father, only want you happy. If being with Y/n without marriage or children makes you happy, then those things don’t matter to me.”
He flashed a warm smile, that nearly left her starstruck, nearly frozen like an icicle from Dragonspine. “Thank you, mother,” She nodded, cheeks flaring red.
“I think one day... if things work out, I will ask her to marry me,”
“And if she wanted children, I’d be alright with that too.”
“I’d do anything for her.”
-
“Captain, good morning.” You exclaimed walking into your Captain's office the next morning, taking note of how he was sitting behind his mahogany desk, reviewing what looked to be paperwork and a map in front of him.
He briefly looked up, dark eyes meeting yours, before pointing to the seats opposite side of the desk. “Come take a seat, Knight.” You nodded following orders, falling into quick, silent steps, choosing to take a seat in the left chair.
You waited for your orders, eyes staying trained on your Captain. He eventually spoke. “I see you’ve been making quick work of your commissions here in Mondstadt,” The older man noted, you just nodded, appreciating the praise. “Five a day and you’ve managed to fit in training for the younger Knights I see.”
“Yes, sir, I believe the daily training is important.” You admitted honestly.
“Yes, it is,” He agreed, finally meeting your eyes only after he turned the map around so it was properly facing you. “Allow me to cut right to the chase,” You gulped nervously. Were you being blacklisted? Given a higher position, maybe Captain? What was going on? You slowed your brain, remembering he was going to explain to you what was going on in a moment. But that didn’t stop you from worrying. You were a capable Knight, your stats showed that you just hoped you weren’t being let go.
Easing your nerves, your Captain began speaking again. “Acting Grand Master Jean has recently been notified that the Eleventh Fatui Harbinger, Childe, has stolen the Geo Archons’ Gnosis.” Your heart dropped to your stomach. Shock, fear, confusion was present in every form within you. Those names and titles sounded familiar, they weren’t unknown figures in Teyvat, not at all. It was a custom for all types of schooling in Teyvat to be educated on all seven of the Archons and nations, and groups such as the Fatui with their elite branch of soldiers, the Harbingers. Plus, as soon as the Knights in training passed the required tests and became official Knights, they would be taught separately from what was usually taught; learn about much rarer and dangerous types of monsters, learn every detail of the Eleven Fatui, about any assassins and people to be wary about on commissions and travels between nations.
One question you had was why in the world were the Harbingers stealing the Archons Gnosis? You’ve heard that Lord Barbatos’ Gnosis had also recently been stolen by La Signora, Eighth of the Fatui Harbingers. So, what was the reason for the Geo Archons to be stolen as well?
The more obvious answer to that question was they were probably stealing their powers to harness themselves. They were strong enough though, they would only be selfish to steal a literal god's Celestial power and take it for themselves. Greedy, you noted.
But you couldn’t be sure because one of Alchemy's prominent figures, an elder, who closely worked with Albedo in the past, had recently been kidnapped by a Scaramouche, Sixth of the Eleven Harbingers. Teyvat was lucky Albedo hadn’t been taken hostage, it was decided he would be under watch for now.
You were seeing an obvious pattern here. A devious, worrying pattern. But now that an alchemist had been kidnapped and was under their care, maybe even lack thereof, one of the worst possible scenarios became evidently present and more aware.
Alchemy could do many wonders, one is to make new forms of life; plants, animals, etc. If the pattern stayed true that they planned to be stealing all the Archons Gnosis was true, then they could possibly be creating an artificial army of sorts, with the usage of life forms created by Alchemy. This wasn’t good.
“This isn’t good.” You muttered, hand going under your chin in thought. Your captain nodded, though you missed it, too deep in thought.
“You see the issue I presume then,” He said, you nodded in response. “Great. You’ll be a fast learner in the kind of environment you’ll be placed in.” You hummed, wondering what in the hell he was talking about.
“Acting Grand Master Jean and I, have cleared you to venture into Snezhnayan territory to gather intel.”
What? You’ve never traveled outside of Mondstadt, ever. Hell, you’ve never even been into Liyue, the closest nation to Mondstadt... Snezhnaya was very, very far away. Pretty dangerous territory, so you’ve heard. Even the locals had a hard time managing the severe storms and frigid cold.
“Sir, I’ve never been to Snezhnaya before.” You explained, eyes filled with confusion.
“Do not worry,” The man reassured. “You may take a small team with you if you please. The Knight’s cartographer, Maria, is very skilled at what she does, she’d be a great help,” He offered. You agreed, you’ve never met Maria personally, but she’d be a great help. “Any other cleared Knight, you may take with you on your journey,” You nodded.
“But like all Knights, you’re exceptionally skilled in the medical field and your stats are practically off the chart; you’re an elite soldier, Knight. There’s a reason Acting Grand Master Jean requested you do this.” You froze, questioning your ability no longer. You would accept this mission without a fuss. Acting Grand Master Jean choose you for this mission specifically. She trusted you, she valued your skills and assets and was acknowledging them. This was any Knight’s dream. The man’s praise, no, Acting Grand Master Jean’s silent praise and approval meant worlds to you... You wished you had the time to thank her personally, but it was from your understanding you would need to leave immediately.
“Thank you, sir,” He sent a firm nod your way. “I assume I would be leaving as soon as possible. So, could you pass my thanks and gratitude to the Acting Grand Master?”
He allowed a smile to spread across his aging face, head-nodding gently, though the smile had disappeared soon after. “I will.”
You bowed your head out of respect. “Thank you.”
Your Captain continued to clue you in about the journey to Snezhnaya, that you would be sent as a spy since you’ve never had any run-ins with any of the Harbingers, therefore your job as a spy would be easier. He allowed you to pick a small team of your choosing, to accompany you into the cold. Though, reassured him you would manage fine with just Maria, the young cartographer. You didn’t want to burden anyone else, especially if this journey was much more trying and dangerous than originally thought.
He came to a standing position, you mirrored his movements as he walked you to the door to see you out.
“I’m sorry to have to bring you this news before Valentine's day, I’m not sure if you wanted to spend the day with a loved one...” He trailed on, eyes filled with an apologetic tint. He was truly sorry to bear you this bad news of sorts, right before the day of love. You understood though, this was your duty. You wouldn’t complain because you had no reason to.
“I’m sorry to have to bring you this news before the day of love,” Ah Valentine's day... You’d completely forgotten that was coming up... “I’m not sure if you wanted to spend the day with a loved one...” He trailed on, eyes filled with an apologetic tint. He was truly sorry to bear you this bad news of sorts, right before the day of love. You understood though.
“I had no plans, so it’s quite alright, sir,” You said turning to him as soon as you were standing under the door frame. “This mission is of the utmost importance. It’s my duty as a Knight to accept and complete the tasks asked of me.”
He nodded, hand raising to salute you, once he was done you mirrored him out of respect. “Very well put, Knight,” He praised again. “Safe travels on your journey, keep me updated with weekly reports.”
“I will, sir.”
-
As soon as you had left your Captain's office, you were quick to find the cartographer Maria, she’d be helping you find your way through Liyue and into Snezhnaya.
It was to your knowledge that around this time of year, the snow in Snezhnaya was even thicker and harder to trudge through, you needed to leave as soon as you could.
Eventually, you found Maria in the library, grabbing various types of books and maps and throwing them into a large brown leather satchel. Great. It seems as though she had already been let in about the mission before you; you could get going much sooner.
Now, you were on your way to your own house to grab any necessities not left in your room at headquarters; clean clothes, Mora, etc. As soon as you made sure you had enough Mora to buy food or anything else you’d need along the way, and clothes for a warm journey, though making sure not to shoulder too much, you were on your way to the gates with Maria now at your side.
You didn’t make it far out of the gates of Mondstadt before you were being stopped, surprisingly by Master Diluc.
He looked to be in a hurry, out of breath as he came running up to you and Maria. When he spotted the young woman at your side, your sword on your hip and backpack on your shoulders, he realized he might’ve caught you at a bad moment...
“Apologies, you seem to be on a mission...” He said meekly.
You waved your hand, smiling back at Maria who had wandered towards the gates to give you two privacy. Looking back at Master Diluc, you said, “No worries, I was just heading out.”
“May I ask where?” You tilted your head to the side, confused. He caught onto your confusion and clarified by saying, “I just wanted to tell you something,”
It must be important to come bounding after you like he just did, unfortunately, though you were leaving...
“Oh,” You glanced back at Maria waiting by the shared entrance and exit, face buried deep in a newly made map. “I’m actually headed somewhere important, I don’t think I’ll be back for a while,” You noticed his face drained paler than it already was, but you decided to ignore it. He probably wouldn’t clarify what that was about. “You could write me a letter and leave it on my windowsill for me for when I return-”
“I’m the one behind the letters.” He interrupted, face regaining color, but this time, his cheeks tinted red, matching none other than his wavy hair kept back in a ponytail.
Your heart stopped beating. “What...?”
“Please don’t make me repeat myself...” He whispered, glancing around. You followed his eyes silently, noticing people had begun to silently convene.
You weren’t sure if they knew that he was the one behind the love letters. You assumed not.... they were probably just shocked to see the young wine tycoon out in public, nonetheless talking to a woman.
“Oh,” you said, ignoring that his face seemed to deepen in worry again. Unbeknownst to you, all Diluc could think was, she’s disappointed it’s me. Why else would she react that way? She hoped for someone else...
But you opened your mouth, and shared words that reassured him, made him feel less ashamed. “Thank you for telling me. I um- I’m very happy it’s you,” He glanced up from the ground, red eyes meeting yours. A genuine smile was on your face, and for once, a genuine smile came to his nature. “I’d secretly hoped it was you.” You admitted. Diluc’s heart fluttered with joy, he couldn’t describe the feelings and emotions that were currently present within him, he just knew they were so overwhelming, he’d only wanted to do one thing.
“May I kiss you?” He asked respectively. Your own heart began to flutter and do somersaults within your chest.
Right here? Right now? In front of all these people? He was comfortable with that?
But you found yourself shyly whispering yes.
And he did exactly that, he kissed you like a shy teen, quickly leaning in to peck your slightly dry lips (you wished you applied some lip balm before leaving your house, but you didn't know you’d be getting kissed by the most beautiful man in all of Teyvat) before pulling away bashfully. You giggled at that, ignoring the gasps of the woman, men, and few children - whose eyes were being covered by their mothers.
“I’m very happy to hear that you’re not disappointed it’s me.” He’d whispered against your lips before pulling away to stare at you. Archons, you wished he hadn’t pulled away soon. But the bright hue on his cheeks and the bridge of his nose made up for it. He’s so cute when he blushes, you thought.
Love, adoration, you couldn’t tell... But he seemed to be feeling it all and allowing it to shine brightly in his eyes.
“I would never be, Master Diluc.” You replied, equally as starstruck as he appeared.
“Diluc is fine.” He reassured you, you stared at him in awe, before smiling.
“Diluc...” You whispered to yourself, correcting what you'd said earlier. You would have to get used to calling him just Diluc, though dropping the title Master would be hard. It was what everyone called him.
“If it’s alright, I’d like to accompany you on your commission,” he said, shocking you for the second time today.
“Really? You would seriously do that?” You asked, astonished.
“Of course,” He started. “You can handle yourself, yes, but for my own sanity I would like to accompany you to make sure you’re safe.” He didn't belittle your skill, which you were thankful for. Many men, often ones in the military belittled your skill and claimed you needed assistance because you were a woman. You weren’t some fragile being, you were a Knight of Favonius.
“Thank you...” You whispered, he seemed to understand immediately what the gratitude was for.
“Are you ready?” You asked, noticing how he didn’t have any bags, just himself and his Claymore. “You don’t have any gear...” You noted.
“I’ll alright, that’s all I need if I’m with you.” He whispered so only you could hear, shyly reaching for your hand.
For a moment, you stood staring at his outstretched hand, wondering how in the world this had happened and when he became such a romantic. He’d been behind the letters the whole time and had kissed you?! Diluc would surely need to tell you the story of it all on your journey. You had a long way to Snezhnaya, soyou had time for the entire story.
The only thing ingrained in your mind as you allowed his hand to encompass your own, was that you missed the touch of his lips on yours and greatly enjoyed his romantic admissions.

Ok like I know this is your third compliment but I'm so glad you're writing for this fandom. All your ideas are so creative and developed that none of it felt so OOC. If you can, what about angst HCs from Kaeya and Diluc. Since theyre so head to head against each other, imagine if they were in love with someone but was with their brother. Now they have to watch Kaeya/Diluc with their s/o while suffering from the sidelines ;w;
Ahh you’re all so lovely 💕 Don’t be shy to just say anything I promise I’m not scary. Your compliments makes me feel more confident ;u; I just finished diluc’s and kaeya’s hc of being jealous so I’m lowkey branching of my last hc point for both of those posts. Took a bit of a different style this time and I might have went a little too deep aha.
Spoiler’s for Diluc’s and Kaeya’s character stories and past (but you should really read Kaeya’s story)
---
Diluc and Kaeya: Falling for their brother’s s/o
Tumblr media
You had told him when it was late at night in the tavern. For the better half of a couple months, you’ve been dropping by around late afternoon asking if you could keep him company and help out since he’s been so busy during the day, and Diluc would never say no to that. It was a passing comment you made as you said goodbye to him as you opened the door to head out.
You wanted to keep your relationship a secret from the public? Felt it was wrong to not tell him since you were dating his brother? Had you not noticed that he was in love with you for months?
He smiles and bares it, nodding goodbye as you leave, just until that door closes and he’s left alone. He slowly unclenches his fists from under the counter as the weight in his chest gets heavier. He hasn’t felt like this in a long time. The last time was when his father passed away.
A part of him feels ashamed that he let himself get so close to you even though at the time, he had no idea you were actually in love with his brother. He hadn’t even seen you talk to Kaeya once since knowing you but to be fair, he doesn’t involve himself in Kaeya’s affairs unless it’s to protect Mondstadt.
But as he reflects in the empty tavern, he doesn’t regret meeting you and becoming close friends. It’s not your fault, you were in love with someone else. He should be happy for you and Kaeya.
He wants to protect the things that he treasures most. When his father passed away he lost the faith in both the gods and the knights of Favonius. He doesn’t want to push you away and lose what he still has because of his actions or behaviour.
In the beginning, he becomes bitter to Kaeya. Before he might have humored Kaeya’s antics and random drop ins but now all he feels is rejection and this weight he can’t get rid of that start’s clawing at him whenever he sees his brother. The first time Kaeya made eye contact with him after you had told him about your relationship, he simply had a wry smile stating that he hadn’t seen Diluc’s eyes like that since he defected from being a knight.
He doesn’t hate Kaeya or think Kaeya stole you away from him. Kaeya protects Mondstadt in the day while he does in the night. That’s how they’ve always been. When he sees you out with Kaeya in the morning he stares longingly before quickly disappearing out of sight.
When his father passed away, Diluc's took a journey that lasted for three years. He had a lot of time to reflect on his past and the anger he had carried until he acknowledged his shortcomings. Those years away let him leave his childish immaturity and when he returned to Mondstadt, he was ready to take on his father’s will one more time. He’s been through this process once before and he’ll push himself to do it again.
That doesn’t mean that his feelings for you will immediately leave him but he’ll learn to move on and treasure you as a friend, that you’re still in his life. There might be some days when he’s alone that he might think of the what if’s but he’ll take a deep breath, know that you’re happy, and the weight will settle down and become lighter.
Tumblr media
You were friends with Kaeya before you officially met Diluc. You and Kaeya had bonded over drinks and soon became drinking buddies. At first you had been a bit wary of him since he was the Cavalry Captain and thought you had done something wrong, but he really was just interested in talking since he heard you also disliked grape juice.
Naturally, that meant that he would drop by the tavern with you and one day, Diluc happened to be there and he thought he might officially introduce you two. Maybe poke some fun at Diluc and his distant personality.
Overtime Kaeya finds that he looks forward to your outings. Hunters and bandits are often his drinking buddies but he’s there to smooth talk them until they end up telling him everything he wants to know. But you’re not a bandit or some spy, he can let his guard down around you and just have a normal conversation without ulterior motives. It feels...nice and he let’s himself slowly relax until he ends up tripping along the way and finds himself falling.
That is until he makes an unprompted visit to see Diluc only to find that you’re there too. He takes one look at the scene and turns around. He remembers when they were younger and how people would say they were almost like twins, knowing each other’s thoughts and intentions without having to say a word to each other.
He think’s its some cruel joke you’re playing or maybe the Gods are cursing him over his methods. As he walks down the streets of Mondstadt, he wants to rationalize that the only reason you were so kind to him was to get closer to Diluc. Or maybe you actually were a spy? He’ll laugh to himself for thinking of such a thing as he replays the same scene in his head over and over.
Everyone's got a secret, but not everyone knows what to do with it, he had told you this with his usual arrogant smirk one night. You were confused at his implication before he shift’s his gaze to where Diluc is. Diluc quickly turns away when you turn your head in his direction. He watches amused as you sputter about how you do not need his help with setting you up with his brother.
On the contrary, he actually enjoys putting people into the difficult position of making tough decisions. He won’t lie and say that he hasn’t given you false information just to see you come back embarrassed. In a way, these moments are a way for him to slowly let go of his feelings by helping you get yours across.
Diluc is direct so he’s not surprised when his brother cut’s right to the point early in the morning and asking what he’s trying to do. As Diluc’s hard stare attempts to drill into him for answer’s he thinks back on that same scene. Diluc had looked calm and in a state of content. Peaceful happiness. It’s the same feeling he has when he’s with you.
He thinks back to another scene. It was the first and only time Kaeya failed in his duty. By the time Kaeya finally reached Diluc, it was all already over. Their father was dead and killed by his own son.
Kaeya’s own biological father had abandoned him and it was Diluc’s father and Mondstadt that had welcomed him with open arms when he had nowhere else to go.
Kaeya just smiles at Diluc and remarks in his typical cryptic manner that there will be a time where he won’t know where to stand. He doesn’t know when that time will come but he’ll think of you and where he would want you to be. So until that day comes, he’ll do everything he can to guarantee your safety. He can tell Diluc wants to say something but he holds back.
To be the first yet placed second, he thinks when you come running up to him to thank him for all his help. He can see Diluc off to the side silently watching and ready to step in and he thinks of the possibilities of what he could do in that moment. Maybe he could confess that he’s been secretly in love with you before you even met Diluc?
Instead he holds back and repays the favour from earlier in the day. He congratulates you and invites you out to drink in celebration of your new relationship.

Time To Take a break.
|Hello everyone. Somehow I got fans. That's pretty cool. I have two more people for myself indulgent one-shots. So the two requests I have please forgive me for a bit longer. Also it seems as if everyone is simping for Childe and wants angst for him. This one-shot will be for Diluc and a cryo user male reader. Kaeya will also like the reader for this one but his feelings won't be returned. Like always you may change the pronouns to fit your own. Spoiler warning for a bit in the manga. Please enjoy.
Diluc x Cryo Male reader x one-sided Kaeya.
----------------------------------------------------
(Y/N) was a traveler who hadn't been to his home in Monstadt for a few months. He was making his way home. Hoping to see Master Diluc and Master Kaeya. He knew Diluc his entire life. He was a bit younger than Diluc by two years. When they were kids no one could seperate them. His parents had worked at the Dawn Winery his whole life which is why he grew up in one of the servant quarters. Around the age of 15 he had become a helper around the manor. He got into a bit of a habit of calling Diluc and Kaeya master after that point. Diluc seems a bit annoyed because of the habit. When he turned 18 he left the Dawn Winery to be come an adventure. He made a promise to always visit Diluc and Kaeya whenever he came back to Monstadt. He would be lying if he said he didn't have feeling for Diluc. The older male always made his heart skip a beat. When Kaeya joined their duo with his teasing (Y/N) learned how to easily maintain his blush. He always admired how much Diluc did for their beloved Monstadt. He decided he was going to surprised the red haired male later and went to the knight's of Favonious headquarters. He smile and waved at the knights at the door. They exchanged greetings before (Y/N) went in to find Kaeya. He ran into Noel and greeted her. He asked if she had seen Kaeya anywhere. "Oh yes I think I saw Sir Kaeya heading towards the cathedral. Would you like me to go fetch him for you?" She asked with a smile. He shook his head no. "I'll go find him myself thank you for the information Noel. Remember to take care of yourself." (Y/N) said patting her head with a smile. She had leaned into the touch before waving bye. He started making his way up the stairs. Sure enough he had seen Kaeya infront of the statue of Barbados. He had something in his hands. (Y/N) walked behind him and covered Kaeya's visible eye. "Guess who?" He quickly said to make sure Kaeya doesn't think he's under attack. "Hmm if I had to guess it would be someone who I love to tease and grew up with. Oh but we aren't that close anymore because he decided to leave Monstadt. I had to find a new best friend." Kaeya said with a teasing tone. He gave a laugh. He's liked the other for awhile now but knew he had no chance compared to Diluc. If he could steal (Y/N) from his adoptive brother he'd do so in a heart beat. Kaeya removed the hand from his eye and turned around. He was still holding the other's hand. He brought it up to his lips and gave it a quick kiss. "What do I owe the pleasure of this meeting to?" He asked with his signature smirk. (Y/N) shook his head with a laugh at the action. "Your flirting won't work on me. You should know better by now. I have a few people sending me commissions in Monstadt. So I've returned home for a bit. What do you got?" He asked pointing to the small package. Kaeya listened intently. "I'm glad your home. Perhaps you could help me deal with something. People around town have noticed Diluc looking rather pale and not the best in health. Charles in particular has been worried that he's sick and overworking himself. I told him I'd take care of it. So I went to Barbara to get some medicine. Then I started thinking who I should send to give it to Diluc. If I went I'm sure we'd end up in a fight. It would also be much more interesting to send you." Kaeya explained. (Y/N) listened to Kaeya's request. He looked a little worried about Diluc. He overworked himself to the point of illness when his father passed. The younger male never wanted to see Diluc like that again. "Leave it to me Kaeya. I'll make sure He rests and gets better." (Y/N) said with a determined look. "I'm guessing you don't want your name mentioned Kaeya?" He got his hair messed up in response. "Always one step ahead of what I'm thinking (Y/N) I don't want to cause a conflict. Let me know when he is better." Kaeya said before walking off. Sometimes he wish the younger male would've fallen for him instead.
(Y/N) made his way to Angels Share to make sure Diluc wasn't working at the Tavern. He peaked his head in and saw Charles behind the counter. He gave a sigh of relief. "Hey Charles is Master Diluc at the Winery?" He asked with a smile. "From what I know he is. I wish he'd stay there. He is planning on coming in later. Everyone has tried telling him to stay home. He refused to listen to anyone though. You might be able to keep him down to rest. I asume that you're not going let him come here? At this point I'm sure who is more stubborn. You or Master Diluc." Charles said with a sigh. (Y/N) gave a small laugh. "We'll see if I can make him stay in bed." He said before waving bye. After a bit he had made it to Dawn Winery. He greeted several people he knew from when he worked there. He saw the head maid and asked where Diluc was. He was a bit relieved to hear that master Diluc was in his room but also worried because he was getting ready to do vigilante things. He informed her that he'd take care of him. He made his way upstairs to Diluc's room he knocked on the door. He wanted to make sure the older male wasn't in the middle of changing. "For the last time I am going and you can't stop me." Was heard from the other side. (Y/N) walked in. "You look awful Master Diluc. I will stop you if I have to. Charles told me that you were sick and I got worried. I wanted to check on you. Why are you pushing yourself so much?" The younger male said crossing his arms. Diluc looked surpised to see (Y/N) there. "I have too much to do. The Abyss Order has been super present. It's no time to worry about a small cold." Diluc stated not looking the other in the eyes. "Your body is just going to get weaker and weaker the more you continue like this Master Diluc. For one night would you be willing to leave the matters to the knights? I know you dont want to think about that idea but please do it for one night." The younger male asked. Diluc gave a sigh. He fixed his gloves and got ready to head out. "I'll be fine (Y/N) I am always fine. You're welcome to rest here if you'd like. Coming back from Liyue must've been tiresome. Also just call me Diluc. You've known me your entire life. There is no need to use master before my name." He stated before he ended in a coughing fit. He walked past the other heading towards the door after the fit was over. He was almost to the door when he felt two arms wrap around his torso holding him in place. "Diluc please I'm begging you. I don't want to see you collapse. I already had to see it once. I never want it to happen again. If you can't trust all of the knights at least trust Jean. One day is all I'm asking of you. We haven't seen each other in a year and I come back to find out that you are ill. I care too much about you to let you destroy yourself. I fell in love with you forever ago. If you don't return my feelings it's whatever but I will not stand by idly and watch you destroy yourself. If you won't rest willing then I'll use for if I have to. I know you're not one for physical interaction but holding you like this is the only way I can think of to get you to stay. " (Y/N) said holding onto him tightly. He saw Diluc turn his head to look at him and saw reluctance in his eyes. Diluc stood there for a moment thinking he was sure (Y/N) could feel his heart beat. "Fine one day." He muttered with a deep sigh.
(Y/N) gave a relieved smile. He let go of Diluc and watched him take his coat off. "Get your sleepwear on and I'll get you some water to take a bit of medicine." He said with a soft tone. He walked out to get some water for the other. Diluc felt his face heat up as he changed. He felt his exhaustion finally catching up with him. He didn't realize how tired his body was until then. He laid down to wait for (Y/N) to come back. He'll just sneak out later when the other was asleep. He waited a few minutes before his eyes started feeling really heavy. Before he knew it his was asleep. (Y/N) had decided to make Diluc some soup. He saw the relief in the servants eyes when he came downstairs grinning proudly. He wondered how long Diluc pushed himself for. He gave yet another sigh as he finished making the soup. He came back to Diluc's room and saw him asleep. He set the soup down on a table and walked over. He placed a hand on the other's forehead. He frowned the temperature was definitely higher than normal. The other was always warm compared to (Y/N). He wondered if it was because of their visions. He activated his cryo vision lightly in his hand on Diluc's head. He didn't want Diluc over heating. He was going to be taking care of the man he loved for hours. He knew Diluc pushed his body way to hard. He stayed by Diluc's side for hours taking care of him. He would tend to Diluc whenever he woke up in a feverish fit. Sometime in the middle of the night he fell asleep resting part of his body on the bed beside Diluc. The next morning Diluc woke up feeling groggy. He didn't remember much of yesterday. When he started waking up more He felt a bit more weight on his bed than usual. He quickly sat up in a panic before he saw his childhood friend next to him. Did the idiot not take care of his own needs? He started recollecting his thoughts from the day before and remembered that (Y/N) literally confessed to him. He also remembers a cooling sensation on his head at points when he was sleeping. He noticed his friend's vision and how close (Y/N)'s hand was to him. He cooled him down all night with his vision. His face matched his eyes and hair at this point. He felt shifting beside him and looked over worried. (Y/N) woke up looking around a bit disoriented for a second. Then he noticed Diluc sitting up. He instantly woke up. "Diluc how are you feeling?" He asked seeming worried. "I'm fine thanks to you. I have a question. Did you mean it when you said you loved me?" Diluc asked once again looking away from the younger male. He heard a bit of laughter and felt his heart sink a bit. Was that just a joke? He felt more weight right next to him. He glanced over to find the (H/C) haired male sitting next to him. "Of course I did. I can't believe you didn't notice from my years of obviously crushing on you since I was 15. When you became the Calvary captain I was swooning for you. Everyone else knew. Kaeya used to tease me about it constantly. When I left for Liyue I told you that there was something important I had to say when I returned. It was my feelings towards you. The question is do you feel the same about me and would you be mine?" He asked leaning slightly into Diluc's personal space. He just got a small nod. Which put the biggest grin on the younger male's he wrapped his arms around Diluc's shoulders and kissed his cheek. "Then would you rest a bit more for me?" He wanted to make sure Diluc recovered completely. He was fond of the dark blush on the older male's cheeks. It was definitely a rare sight to see and he loved it. He got a nod and hug in return.
|Thanks for reading.

Alexander Vodka lines
I did most of the characters, but some I don't know or genuinely can't think of anything. Hope this is good >-<
Hello: Hey there, your that Traveler fella ain’t ya? Hope I don't owe you copyrights for  the name. Hm? I don’t? Well then, what can I help ya with?
Adventures? Sure why not, I could use the inspiration.
Two names: You’re curious why I have two names? Well it's sort of a thing in Snezhnaya that officers and other high ranking people have two names, like how harbingers do. Since I’m a high ranking member of the Schneznayan authors association, well former member, I have the name “Eis Cay’zar” meaning “ice ruler”. And Alexander Vodka is a pen name. Hm? What's my resistance name and real one? Well now Traveler, a man must have some secrets.
Change of tone: Ah yes, people often find the way I change from more eloquent speech to more casual off putting. Well it's the same reason I wear two sets of clothes: sometimes I feel like looking like an old noir hero, other times I like looking like a new age caped crusader. Sometimes I like sounding high society, other times I enjoy sounding like I’m from Khaen’ria.
How do you know about Khaen’ria: Well I was looking for accents and found out about a place called “New York” or something, a bit of investigation and I discovered everything. My source? That's a secret, ehe.
Good morning: Mornin’ Traveler! What's in the mornin’ paper?
Noon: Lunch time, my favourite time of the day. Let’s go get some pizza, I’m famished!
Afternoon: Almost time to punch out, let's go knock some skulls first.
Night: *yawn* Today was fun, thanks buddy. Get some shut eye, or if you can't come meet me at (wanmin/angels share/the tea house), first rounds on me!
When it rains: I am so glad I got over my fear of contacts.
When it rains(with glasses outfit): Hey can we get under something? I can barely see!
When it stops raining: The smell that comes after rain has always been one of my favorites.
When it snows: Perfect weather to bundle up with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate!
When it stops snowing: Do you ever miss home, Traveler?
About freedom: I warned Barbados, you know that? I knew that as long as he saw it coming, Signora wouldn’t stand a chance. But he just looked at me and said, “good, when I’m gone mondstadt will be truly free of the gods”. That’s a man I’d follow to the depths of the abyss and back.
About Venti: Speaking of Barbados, he’s a great drinking buddy. Me and him knock back a couple hundred rounds whenever I’m in Mondstadt! Course I’m always paying the tab, but I consider it a way of repaying him for making songs about my books.
About Kaeya: The cavalry captain? He’s pretty cool if you ask me, modeled as Rex Mondoleon for the cover of a historical fiction book I made. But I’d still like to know what he’s hiding behind that smile.
About Diluc: Don’t tell him I told you this, but one time I found Diluc after he was hit by an abyss spell that made him drunk. While he was drunk he kept ranting about how sorry he is for kicking out his brother. The poor guy has all that forgiveness in him but he’s too afraid to let it out.
About Jean: The acting grandmaster of the knights is someone truly deserving of respect. She leads by being a good person and earning the respect of her people, and she has never once tried to cover up the mistakes of the knights. In fact if a knight makes a mistake she’ll rush out to fix it. Jean should be the grandmaster, not that crooked old bastard.
About Lisa: Lisa was my first friend in Mondstadt. She mailed me about getting copies of my books into the Mondstadt library, I said I’d do a signing to promote a new one, one thing led to another and now we have tea every ninth day of the month.
About Rosaria: Don’t tell anyone, but I’m very sure she’s a vampire. A nice one, but still.
About Barbara: Awe that little doll? I once saw her kill multiple fatui because they threatened some sick and injured travelers. So I think she’s a great person, takes compassion to save lives and guts to handle taking them as well.
About Bennett: Bennett? Yeah I know him, nice kid. He likes my books but kept breaking them, so now I make special enchanted ones so he can’t break them even if he tried.
About Razor: The guardian of wolvendom? He’s a weird one alright, but he’s not a bad guy. I taught him how to read and write.
About Fischl: That crazy kid? I don’t care what everyone else says, she’s nice. People need to learn to just leave people alone, she’s not hurting anyone with her persona.
About Noelle: You will never find someone more dedicated too...well anything than Noelle is too the knights and her training.
About Klee: Klee and I are great friends! Nothing is more stimulating than massive explosions!
About Amber: She always has interesting stories to tell, like one time where she got rid of some bandits by making a dummy merchant cart filled with explosives! Or the time she had to help a kid get her pet giant snake out from the cathedral!
About Zhongli: Heh, he thinks he’s slick, but I know he’s Rex Lapis. Gotta say I kinda hate him for just giving up his gnosis, however he did it to free his people so I can’t be mad.
About Ninnguang: Never much cared for economics because I don’t know much about ‘em, so I can’t say anything about her business sense. But I can say that she’s a great leader who puts her people first.
About Keqing: Haven’t talked to her enough to know much, but she’s dedicated to her people and that's enough for me. Her dislike of blind faith in the gods is definitely enough to make me want to get to know her better though.
About Qiqi: Qiqi’s a nice kid, I don’t care what anyone says her being a zombie doesn’t make her bad.
About Baizhu: Snake man? Nice guy, helps me be accurate in my books. Always worry about him though, one hot breeze and he’s out like a light.
About Xingqiu: Xingqiu always tries to hide his good deeds, and while I can respect anonymity I can’t let a hero go unsung. So I’ve written multiple short stories about him using a different name, and put in the beginnings that it’s based on a true story.
About Chongyun: His popsicles are great inventions, I’ve played around with the idea a bit and made flavored ones. So far I’ve got strawberry and grape down and am working on this weird fruit called a..Banananana? I think?
About Beidou: Captain Beidou is so cool! She tells me stories about her journeys out to see and I write about them, but after seeing her in action I can’t really say that I do her justice.
About Kazuha: Kazuha has suffered so much, yet he refuses to give up and curl up away from the world when he so easily could. I have immense respect for him.
About Xianling: You’d be surprised at how good slime and boar tusk can be.
About Xiao: I’ve written down many myths and legends of the yaksha, but sadly I've never seen him in person.
About Verr Goldet: Oh she’s great company! Good business sense, and always polite.
About Gorou: Many people rightly attribute the Resistance’s survival and victories to general Kokomi, but it’s wrong to say general Gorou isn’t a brilliant strategist. He knows how to rally his men against impossible odds, and how to keep them standing against them. I’d follow general Gorou into battle any day.
About Ayaka: Ayaka seems so lonely, I hope when this is all done she can have some form of social life.
About Thoma: Thoma’s as cool as he seems. He always has a level head, and solves problems smoothly and without issues.
About Yoimia: KABOOOM!
About Kokomi: One time I was doing an interview of her excellency, to boost morale and draw new members. I intended on asking for her autograph, only for her to ask for mine! I’ve been riding that high for a while now and still ain’t come down.
About Signora: I hate fatui, but without that she has some good qualities: most of her power is her own unlike most other harbingers, and she’s a sharp dresser. Plus she’s actually justified in her choice to join the fatui, not excused, but isolation can justify many crimes in my book. But no matter what I can’t forgive her. She attacked my friend without a chance for him to fight back, and was unfairly cruel. Nothing can justify that, and I will not forgive her as long as she remains unapologetic for her cowardly cruelty.
About Childe: Fatui are scum, but Childe’s probably the best of them: he personally tries to keep civilians and the weak out of fatui business, and he’s only in it to make sure his family lives well. He also is powerful on his own, but most of his strength is the Tsaritsa’s well deserved gifts. Still though, he’s just a single stressful day from losing all his morals. I can’t leave the fate of my homeland to a madman like him, not unless he gets therapy.
About Scaramouche: Scaramouche...that bastard, it’s been five years and he still owes me 30,061 mora.
About the Fatui: The fatui are really just people who are lost or genuinely believe they’re in the right, and while I can sympathize and respect many of them I can't agree nor can I just stand by and watch. The grunts usually aren’t that bad, honestly they’re more like underpaid graduates new to the workforce, but the fighters you see daily? Almost all of them are scum no better than raiders, and debt collectors are the worst of them because they’ll do anything they can to scam you out of everything in their contracts.
About us-commissions: You know, if you’d like to commission a biography it’s 100 mora per ten pages.
About us-inspiration: You’re a font of inspiration for me, ya know that?
About us-fellow rebels: I’ve been with ya enough to know that this path you’re on, the one to find your sis/bro, you’re fighting against something far beyond my ability to deal with. I won’t abandon you, I’ll be here every step of the way.
About us-friends: We’ve been through a lot pal, I’m glad to call you my friend. Please, call me my rebel name: it’s Belgrade, named after the city where some very brave men took their last stand against oppression.
Hobbies: Well you have reading and writing, otherwise? Can't think of anything.
Favorite food: Grilled tiger fish, come get it while it’s hot!
Least favorite food: I really wanna try it, but I can’t have almond tofu. Or any nuts. Closes my throat right up.
Something to share: Hehe, I got embarrassing dirt on all the harbingers. Signora? She has a Tsaritsa body pillow. Scaramouche? He knits sweaters for his pet pig, cute but he hates letting people know. And Childe? Hoo man, the pics I’ve got on him have put a pretty mora on my head.
About me: Hey have you seen my dice? I wanted to teach the mondstadt kids how to play them...hm? What?! No, not gambling! It’s, uh, a tad embarrassing...h-hey look! Literally anything else, let's pay attention to it!
About me II: Alright! These rolls are great, can’t wait to use them next game. I’m so proud of Fischl, so young yet so imaginative. She’s already-ah! T-traveler! What are you doing?..
You know I’m the one meant to be learning the secrets here.
About me III: Back in Snezhnaya, everyone looks down on things that don’t “conform” where even the most rigid of nations like Inazuma have stopped caring. Adults can't play games, men can’t wear dresses, can’t even have a “weird” sense of humor. No laws against it, but being outcasted is...it’s not good…
About me IV: I wish I grew up in Mondstadt. The kids there are so free to be themselves, and the adults aren’t pressured to be nothing more than working hands. It’s not perfect, after all people are rude to Fischl and Benny for being “different”, but it’s better that’s for sure.
About me V: Hey traveler...this is...no it’s not embarrassing. You’re my friend and I have no reason to be embarrassed by wanting to enjoy time with you! Fischl’s going to run a pen and paper dice game, ever played one? It’s super fun, you get to be anything you want really, and it’s a great way to bond.
You will? Great! I’ll help you make a character!
Alexander’s troubles: It’s so hard to find publishers these days. Noone wants an actual plot, they just want twist after twist. What’s up with that?! Shock value is no substitute for characters you love living fulfilling lives.
Happy birthday: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday you crazy bastard, happy birthday to you! Seriously pal, you put yourself in harm's way every day it seems, we literally met when you were fighting an actual god! Actually, know what? No danger all day! We’re wrapping ourselves in blankets and just relaxing!
Feelings about ascension-intro: woah, somethin’ feels different. I like it!
Feelings about ascension-building up: man, I’m feeling inspired all of a sudden! Hey traveller, give me a prompt!
Feelings about ascension-climax: HA! I don’t know what high I’m riding but I like it, I just finished writing a whole book series!
Feelings about ascension-conclusion: WOO! YEAH! ULRICH MIKAEL KEEPS WINNIN’!-I-I meant Alexand-ah forget it, I’m feelin’ too good to care!
OCs:
About Louis: That crazy inventor guy from Fontaine? I heard he got used by the fatui, damn shame that. Noone deserves to have their heart played with like that.
About Spritefather: You ever heard of Spritefather? I’ve only heard legends, but the fanmail I keep getting tells me that sometimes things are only legendary until someone writes them down.
About the Storytraveler: There’s this woman who travels from universe to universe to fix things, she’s in Teyvat right now. You should meet her, really nice person. But her powers are a bit weird, why does she transform like that? It takes so much time!

So I’ve had this hiding in my notes for like almost two weeks I think? I wasn’t sure if I should post it here, but why not lol. It’s another Kaeya x Fin(my oc), so...enjoy I guess? It’s long, but I’m on mobile so please scroll 😛 @favoniuscodex hnnn I did it 😬
Fin didn’t know how it happened.
One minute, she’s discussing commissions with Katherine, and the next she’s ducking in and out of the streets and alleys to shake prying eyes.
She felt almost as if she was being hunted. Fin wouldn’t run, no matter how much her mind urged her to, it would only bring more attention to herself.
For the last two days, Fin had been followed by either a love sick teenager or an over eager assistant; she couldn’t tell which. She had let him help her with a commission one time a few days ago just to be nice, but even after being told multiple times that Fin no longer needed help, he still came looking for her.
Normally, Fin wouldn’t mind striking up a conversation, but this guy irked her. He would either smother her in bad pick up lines or insist that she needed his help with even the simplest of chores.
“This is ridiculous...” she muttered as she glanced around to find a hiding place. “Does he not know when to give up?”
Figuring she’d be clear to just hide in an alleyway until he quit, she jogged toward a lesser known tavern. Fin was so focused on getting off the streets, she tripped up the stairs to the Cat’s Tail with a yelp, but thanks to a familiar gloved hand, she didn’t fall.
“Woah there, Speedy. What’s the hurry?”
“Captain!” Fin gasped with a hand on her chest. “Thank you.”
“Miss Fin!” A distant voice called.
Grabbing Kaeya by the sleeve, Fin dashed into the shade of the alley, pressing her back against the wall and holding her breath, she prayed her pursuer hadn’t seen where she went.
“Something wrong?” Kaeya asked with a raised brow, one hand rested on his waist. It was easy to tell she was anxious, he didn’t need two working eyes to see that. The way she bounced on the balls of her feet was a dead giveaway.
Fin turned to the Captain with a worried expression. “Kaeya he won’t leave me alone,” she breathed, dropping the formalities. “No matter how many times I deny him, he won’t leave me alone and now he’s following me.” She didn’t need to explain who; she had ranted once before about him to Kaeya at a bar.
The Knight held his chin between his thumb and forefingers. “Him again, huh? Hmm...I have an idea that just may keep him away for good, but there’s a catch.”
Fin could hear quick footsteps approaching. It seems her previous prayer was not to be answered. “What is it?” She asked as she continued bouncing on her toes nervously.
“You’ve got to play along. And you have to trust me.”
“Fine. Sure, alright, just hurry” Whatever it was, surely it couldn’t be as bad as having to endure another belittling conversation with the weirdo.
She was...half right.
Fin expected the possibility of Kaeya’s idea being wild or far fetched. What she didn’t expect was for Kaeya to grab her by the cheeks and pull her into a kiss.
Her eyes were wide, staring at the face that was now so close to hers. Kaeya, Captain Kaeya, who Fin had been crushing on practically since she’d met him, was kissing her. His lips were so soft against hers and despite the crying vision Kaeya wielded, she could feel herself begin to melt, fingers itching to move, to touch him.
Only when an azure eye peeked open to meet hers did she remember his words. “Play along” he had said.
So she did.
Mint eyes closed and gentle and shaky hands found the Knight’s chest as she leaned into him and kissed back. Her heart was pounding in her ears, yet she paid it no mind. Fin was so into it, into him, she didn’t even notice how footsteps echoed off the walls of the alley.
Kaeya could tell she was enjoying it; he could feel it in the way she pressed against him and sighed against his lips. Content with her reaction, he closed his eye and moved one hand behind her neck, pulling her closer just before her pursuer turned the corner.
“Miss Fin! There you-oh...”
What a sight it must’ve been to see the Calvary Captain of the Knight of Favonius pressing one of the Honorary Knights against him in a heated kiss. Fin’s cheeks and ears were flushed crimson, a harsh contrast to her usually pale complexion. He was putting on a show. Kaeya had one hand laced in her ponytail at the base of her neck, his other firmly grasping her hip, pulling Fin flush against him. He was enjoying this, but he still had to get rid of the intruder.
Kaeya broke the kiss with a sigh. “Apologies,” he spoke to the newcomer, unable to pull his gaze from the white haired girl in front of him. Her half lidded eyes reflected an emotion Kaeya hadn’t seen from her before and her soft lips were already flushed pink. He was hooked. “But Finnie is a tad busy at the moment, if you couldn’t tell. Come back later.” His eyes kept darting back to her slightly swollen mouth. Fin’s cheeks only darkened as Kaeya bit at his lip.
Fin couldn’t help but lean into his touch when Kaeya dragged his thumb across her cheek, awestruck at the situation she found herself in.
“Or...perhaps not. Finnie may be busy then, too.” Her eyes fluttered closed once again just before their lips met for a second time. That time, she didn’t hesitate to kiss him back.
That was nearly a week ago, and luckily for Fin, Kaeya’s plan had worked! She hadn’t seen the weirdo since.
However, as grateful as she was to Kaeya for helping her out, she hated him for the way he had left her feeling. She could not get the memory of how his lips felt out of her head, often catching herself brushing her fingers over her lips and now, every time they met, Fin had to fight back her continuously rising feelings toward the Knight constantly.
She refused to let them get in the way of their friendship. He didn’t see her any differently than a friend anyway. Right?
Wrong.
On the outside, Kaeya was no different than before the incident. Calm, cool, smooth-toned...On the inside, however, Kaeya felt a mess.
After hearing Fin’s drunk blabbering about her feelings, he wanted to look further into the situation. Did she actually feel a special way towards him or was it just the dandelion wine talking? What better way to find out then to initiate something a little more intimate between the two? He had the perfect plan; he would kiss her.
Kaeya didn’t expect for the perfect scenario to fall straight into his hands, however.
The Captain simply wanted to get a reaction out of her, see if she still had the feelings she eluded to not long ago. He never thought he would go in for a second kiss, he just couldn’t help himself...but Archons, was he glad he did.
Fin thought he kissed her just to help her out a sticky situation. Who could blame her, though? Kaeya was known to flirt with anything that breathes; how could she think he was being sincere?
He kept up his flirty act. However, he didn’t flirt with anyone but the ivory haired traveler. Any compliments he showered her with were nothing but heartfelt, straight honey rolling off his tongue. He began leaving Calla Lilies on Fin’s desk, or anywhere he knew she’d find them. Everyone but Fin herself could tell he was courting her.
It bugged Kaeya to no end.
“Diluc, I know you don’t like him much anymore, but could I ask, well, more like rant to you about Kaeya?” Fin asked, hope laced in her words. The scarlet haired vigilante sighed, setting a now cleaned mug down on the counter. Fin had caught him at the tavern during a slow lull, hoping to get some advice. She stared down at her cider while she waited for Diluc to respond, her fingers twisting the stem of one of her gifted Lilies.
“I do not concern myself with the likes of him any longer.”
Fin sighed and set her glass down, forehead falling to rest on the bar. “Yes, I know, sorry. I guess I was just hoping tha-“
“However, I have not seen him look at anyone in the same way he looks at you.”
Fin’s head shot up so fast, she nearly gave herself a headache. “What..?” Her mint eyes searched Diluc’s, but all he gave no reply, just a soft smile before he turned his back to continue cleaning. Fin’s gaze dropped down to the calla lily that had gone limp in her grasp, not sure what to think of this new information.
With his smile still present, Diluc glanced over his shoulder at the traveler, chuckling inwardly at her expression. For the past week, Diluc had been dealing with the pair pining after each other, though Fin more so kept to herself about it. During the day, she would come to the tavern to chat and relax. She only spoke of Kaeya occasionally, knowing Diluc’s feelings toward the captain.
Kaeya, on the other hand, was much worse. He would come at night when the tavern was fullest, drinking to his heart’s content and blabbing on and on about the mint eyed girl he wouldn’t seem to woo.
This was new to Diluc. Typically, Kaeya was the kind to flirt with anyone and everyone. If someone were to reject his advances, Kaeya would just move on to the next innocent soul, playing with their feelings until he got bored.
This time, things were different.
It seemed as if Kaeya only had eyes for Fin, and no matter how oblivious she was to his advances, Kaeya kept on trying. To Diluc, it was...strange.
“I’m sure he’s just being friendly. We’ve become close pretty quickly, after all,” Fin reasoned with herself. Her brain wouldn’t let her believe he felt something toward her. “I’m just his comrade...”
“Fin.” Diluc’s body faced the girl now, her minty gaze meeting his crimson one once again. “Kaeya is...” he sighed and turned away again. “He stays here late at night, running his mouth about insignificant things. But when he speaks of you...I haven’t seen him smile like that since we were kids... But I’m sure you’d rather hear from him over me.”
Fin didn’t budge as she took in Diluc’s words. She didn’t understand how Diluc could say these things so easily and confidently when she herself was sure it wasn’t the case. She wouldn’t - couldn’t - believe it unless she heard it from Kaeya. Though, even then she wasn’t so sure...
And so, after saying her goodbyes to Diluc, the traveler left the tavern, now even more unsure then when she arrived.
Fin made her way up the stairs towards the statue of Barbatos, wanting to relax in the quiet shade nearby. “Aha! There you are, Doll,” a familiar voice called. “I’ve been looking for you.” Quickly, Fin spun on her heels to face the Knight with her usual smile, long ponytail falling over her shoulder. She found him leaned up against a pillar right where she had planned to rest.
“Captain, hello!” Fin greeted, hands laced together behind her back. The smile on her lips widened when she saw the bouquet of lilies within his grasp, the familiar flowers bringing her joy. “What’s this?” A soft chuckle escaped Kaeya as he held out the bouquet for Fin to take. “For me? How kind of you, Captain. You didn’t need to do that.” She almost felt guilty, hoping it wasn’t too much effort for him to collect them.
“Of course I did,” Kaeya countered as Fin took the bundle, his smile never faltering. “How else am I supposed to relay my affections, Sweetheart?” His words brought on an instant flush to Fin’s pale cheeks. She attempted to play it off with a wave of her hand.
“Oh stop,” she huffed. She buried her nose in the bouquet to hide her face. The smell the lilies gave off was lovely. “If you aren’t careful, Captain, someone might think you’re smitten with me. Think of how heartbroken the ladies of Mond would be.” A stale giggle pushed past her lips as she played with some petals.
Fin was half joking, but her smile had faltered.
Kaeya noticed. Of course he did.
He was keen, infuriatingly so to some, and not much went unnoticed by him. So when Fin had automatically deflected into a joke and no longer met his gaze, Kaeya frowned. It took him a moment to gather the proper words. He figured the best way to get his point across the the helplessly oblivious girl was to be outright and honest, a daunting task for the Calvary Captain.
“What if I am?”
Fin’s fiddling stilled. “Sorry?”
Kaeya inhaled before continuing. “What if I am...smitten with you?”
The girls eyes widened, cheeks continuing to flush. Her heart was thumping against her sternum and her fingers tingled, yet something in the back of her mind just couldn’t believe it.
“...Kaeya, you can’t say things like that and get my hopes up. I don’t like this kind of teasing.” She wouldn’t meet his eye.
“You don’t believe me.” It was less a question and more a statement, nothing but silence following after.
Kaeya’s eye studied Fin, taking in every feature he could. He noticed how her fingers were tightly wound around the bundled stems, how she shifted her weight from left to right and back again, how she bit at her lower lip, the silence eating away at her. He had to say something.
“Finnie.” She jumped at her name leaving his lips, feeling flustered yet still not raising her eyes. With a soft sigh, the captain pressed a gentle finger beneath her chin to have her finally meet his eye. “Hey.” Fin looked up shyly, which brought Kaeya’s fallen smile back. “Can I tell you a secret?”
His intense stare reminded Fin of a week ago; the last time she was this close to him, he gave her the same look. “Y-yeah, sure.” His grin grew at that, hand moving from her chin to brush over her temple. It tucked her hair behind her ear before settling gently on her jaw.
“You are the most amazing creature I’ve come across,” he started. “Selfless, kind, brave, strong, not to mention so incredibly beautiful.” She rolled her eyes at that, pulling a sound of mock hurt from Kaeya. “Hey now, I mean it! Have you seen yourself? Save some beauty for the rest of us,” he said with a wink, well, as much of a wink you can manage with one eye.
Fin’s smile finally returned and was accompanied with a soft giggle. Her heart was racing in her chest and hoards of butterflies invaded her gut, leaving her all tingly feeling.
“There it is.” Kaeya’s thumb raked across the skin on her cheekbone. He was smitten, and helplessly so. “Can I tell you another secret, Fin?” She nodded. Kaeya moved closer, his voice barely above a whisper. “Ever since the day of your little sticky situation, I’ve wanted nothing more than the chance to kiss you again.”
The bouquet of calla lilies almost fell from the girl’s grasp at the confession, so she readjusted her grip, refusing to let the gift hit the ground. Her pulse was erratic and her cheeks flushed red. She could feel Kaeya’s left hand ghosting over her hip as if itching to hold her.
She believed him. Of course she did. With words so sincere and her desires so present, it finally made sense.
Fin’s hand found the one hovering at her side, pulling him to hold her hip before her palm found its place upon Kaeya’s forearm.
“Then what are you waiting for?”
Though not as keen as the knight, the way his smile widened and the color pink dusted over Kaeya’s features did not go unnoticed by Fin as he moved ever closer.
Looking back, she found it so silly how she acted earlier, telling herself it wasn’t true, that Kaeya absolutely did not have feelings for her. She would have to thank Diluc later for putting up with them, but for now, she’d much rather enjoy this moment with the captain.
The scene was almost identical to the one from a week ago. However, this time, there was no fear or uncertainty, only excitement and anticipation as the pair stared at each other.
“Kiss me, Kaeya.”
So he did.
