The old lady's craft room ecosystem has landed me a treasure!
A book from the 1980s with prints of 1912-1925 fashion plates from the Gazette du Bon Ton! Here are some of my favourites:
They're really fun, illustrations by the likes of George Barbier and Georges Lepape for couture houses like Worth and Lanvin.
They range from dramatic fashion illustration:

To suggested situations where to wear the outfit:

To full story concepts:

(I think the Salomé one is my favourite)
There's more! Much more silly ones I'll post later.

Forgot I wanted to share these too, some are uncharacteristically sad doodles for me so I'll put them under a read more for those who'd rather skip em ! (About healing, but dealing with sadness too) I just needed catharsis after finally seeing doomstar when they've been my favs for a decade 🥹💓

I'll leave alt text for the dialogue since my handwriting is really shaky, but since it won't make the post longer I'd also like to explain the story in my head ! :3
That once they rescue Toki, Skwis spends every day visiting him, helping him regain his energy (feeding him, massaging his joints, helping him go for walks around the hospital).
He brings him toy / plushie bouquets so the entire room is covered in em.. but he tries to hide how deep it hurt him to even have to miss Toki and fear for his life, making stupid jokes to hide behind. (u.u
He spent nights while Toki was away sleeping in his room, wearing his old shirts and cuddling deaddybear 🥺 Even after he knows he's safe again it's hard to deal with the fact that he could have ever lost the one person he truly feels a connection with.. Despite the fact he has NO idea how to express that and more often than not turns to insults to hide it instead of showing weakness. 😔
When Toki can finally return home, Skwis greets him with lotsa toys and snacks, but also a little kitten since he knows how much they mean to him !! :3 He also might have just. Moved all of Toki's things to his own room, so they're roomies now and he'll never spend a moment alone or vulnerable again 💗
The first and last doodle actually go together ! Last being earlyklok, after Skwis finds out about Toki's abuse and the scars it left. Even talking about them hurts, but he bestows gentle kisses upon them to ease the pain.. When Toki returns home after doomstar, Skwis does the same to his new scars 💞 Both are very cathartic moments 🥺

Update/Pinned Post
Welcome to my art archive. I've posted a lot about my OCs, TWEWY, Persona 5, Xenoblade X and in other fandoms.
Unfortunately due to recent-ish changes on Tumblr I no longer feel comfortable posting here much or at all. I'll keep my blog up for the foreseeable future or maybe even forever because of how Tumblr stores data. I'd rather have the link back to the source.
Or if the other sites explode in the meantime.
This has nothing to do with the date sadly. I'm just at my limit.
Here's where you can find me:
Pillowfort: gramophoneturtle. The most artist respected place and a decent long form blogging place.
Neocities: I'm currently developing an art archive on neocities over here. This will be THE archive place, one day! With RSS, one day!
Bluesky: gramophoneturtle. Twitter replacement. I don't trust it but it's meshing with me more than mastodon. Stream announcements are here b/c I ran out of energy for crossposting.
cohost: gramophoneturtle. I don't trust it'll stay but it has both a draft system & can save alt text on draft edits. Wild stuff to praise but when porting art out of Tumblr, it's helpful to have new drafts.
Twitch & YouTube: I stream weekly on Twitch and store VODs on both. Twitch has all my VODs and YouTube has VODs from Fall 2023 and onwards.
More details, pros and cons about each site below for those who are curious. Thanks for sticking around and reading.
Pillowfort
It's user funded and transparent about the breakdown of funds
They're against generative AI. Their reinforcement came out around the time Tumblr's not-really-against-it stance came out. This is huge to me.
They're working on a PWA of the site so it will have a way to function like a smartphone app
Image post options aren't great but you aren't limited to 4 (unlike cohost - kinda, and Bluesky)
Alt text gets eaten if you edit a post currently which is awful. (Tumblr used to do this.) Alt text isn't an option for picture type posts but is for text posts with pictures. But hey at least you can include alt text!
Communities are nice for fandoms and stuff. You can search by tags but you don't follow tags, you join/watch communities.
They have funding for the next 6 months past any month that was fully funded. So as of April 1, 2024, funding should last until (the end?) of October if they were to not get any more donations/subscriptions from now on. Basically, they have a 6 month buffer and so far for 2024 they've been keeping it and maintaining their monthly funding goals
Neocities
Home page URL should not change but artwork URLs might
The artwork section is inspired by Tumblr's archive page/system. I don't think I want it to be exactly like it (might be a limitation of static pages re: tag filtering) but I want to try and partially make it
Artwork on there have been nightshaded and glazed. I would like to reglaze some pieces that are too glazed for my liking, now that I have a better computer for it (so it doesn't take forever). That's why not a lot of art is on there yet
I might go into detail about how I automated some of the web dev stuff to make my life easier on my my main blog. In summary: I'm using 11ty (eleventy), generating pages from data and templates, using github for version control and github actions for updating the site automatically
Bluesky:
Feeds are cool. I've found and made (through SkyFeed) a lot of Feeds. Feeds can look for text in posts and alt text, and/or specific tags. Can filter out reblogs or replies. Can work off of user lists. Can include/exclude specific posts - like Twitter Moments. There's a lot of flexibility and filtering.
Feeds can lookback anywhere from 25 hours to 1 week when not looking at one user. So when pulling from many users, you could just get the latest updates. For one user (say your own gallery of whatever) you're allowed to go back to the beginning, it can be your art gallery. And then people can just follow that feed so you don't have to worry about your art getting buried if people just want to follow your art
There's a setting you can turn on to warn and prevent you from posting until you add alt text. I love this. Especially since, like Twitter, you can't go back and edit a post
Forcing ALT text has the added bonus of leaving it last so I can double check tags and text in case I accidentally hit the post button before I'm ready
Twitch
There is art. And VTuber stuff. And life updates. Art/project updates. Lots of OC talk. Like I wish I could post more about Null considering how much stuff I've spoken about them on stream but freaking time! And energy.
YouTube
Used to do more Timelapses but stopped because laptop was not having fun with it. Now that I have a new computer it might be better!
Also has Twitch VODs because I want another place to back up VODs since local recordings take up a lot of space. And I can mark Chapters(/Moments?) timestamps to find stuff again.
Special thank you to those that made it all the way down here!
So what is the blog for now? Archiving, mainly, as I said at the beginning. I might link to my neocities page in maybe art updates or to pillowfort. And I might need a place to fall back to if the other sites don't last. I know bluesky and cohost are not much better/probably not better in other ways so I know that posting on them probably won't be good long term.
But that's why I'm working on the art archive site on the side. I'll always have a safe and controlled place where I can have all my art and details and stuff. It's gonna take a while and it's challenging but it's what I feel like I gotta do now.
I'm just so tired.

Remember back in 2016 when I wrote a Big Bang thing for Merlin and I got randomly paired with @procoffeinating and the art was 100% amazeballs?
Well, after spending a couple months writing 180k worth of story for Pocketful of Soul, a CQL-based, Mo Xuanyu-centric time travel story, I decided to reward myself by commissioning art. There are three pieces, this is the first.
This is from Chapter 3, and depicts Mo Xuanyu holding a hand out to Jiang Yanli's ghost, while Wen Qing looks on. They're surrounded by the spirits of the Wen Remnants. They are in a field near Nightless City and you can see the Fire Palace in the background.
Jiang Yanli has one hand full of pieces of Wei Wuxian's shattered, scattered soul.
I am absolutely enchanted by the depiction of Mo Xuanyu, wearing WWX's robe that is a little too big, a little baggy, a little tattered, his face softer, a little rounder in the cheeks and chin, but still closely resembling WWX. It was possibly the most challenging part of the assignment, to make him look different but not-too-different. This is forever what my mental image of him will be.
Anyway, Procoffeinating, as always, understood the assignment absolutely perfectly.
Because this work was for Fandom Trumps Hate, and I not only wanted Procoffeinating's specifically amazing art, but I wanted to use this to help directly support several artists related to causes dear to my heart, I'm asking that if you like this or other of Procoffeinating's work, and you are able, that you go offer some kofi love. If you do, let me know via DM here or on Twitter how much you gave, and I'll match that with some more art for the story. Even tiny donations will get something from me, I have a very long list of places small art could be added. (I did pay for this piece, more than asked, but it deserves more, and I'm willing to put my own effort toward that. Mostly I want to see lots of people tell J how amazing the art is.)
From J's Twitter:
j/queer/ broke fanartist and cat owner, https://ko-fi.com/procoffeinating
I hit an alt text limit, for those who are using screen readers, in addition to everything mentioned in the alt text, over this misty, moody image, on the left side, is a hazy lighter panel (it only covers someone in a dark robe seen from the waist down, it was a requested title space). And over that panel is the title, Pocketful of Soul in a font that seeps black curling tendrils like resentful energy, limned in red. Under it, in a less curly but still decorative font (think rapid brush strokes, almost cursive, kind of pointy, with long downward strokes but minimal ornamentation) in a drop-shadowed black, it says "by Jenrose, art by Procoffeinating."
I highly recommend trawling through @procoffeinating's Tumblr for amazing art in many fandoms. Just keep going, there's Merlin and Good Omens in there, among other things. Twitter has some newer stuff.
Please reblog, do not repost. Posted with permission. The graphic design elements are mine, the art is 100% Procoffeinating's.
The next image from Procoffeinating will be up in about a month, give or take, and will knock your goddamn socks off. It involves culturally accurate babywearing but also absolutely perfect character drawings. Y'all, I cried. (I have the final version in hand but it's for Part 5, and like, 20 chapters from what I've already posted.)

A bit of a ramble below the cut 😭 Didn't intend for it to be anywhere near this long, but there's just a Lot of layers to this that I wanted to talk through
I feel really bad irt not often adding IDs to my art because like. I want to, but, ironically, my disabilities (my chronic pain which is especially bad in my hands, and also tbh autism and ADHD doesn't make it easier either, with trying to find the right words to describe things + ADHD brain fog) make it incredibly difficult to add it myself a lot of the time. This is made even worse by the fact that my two options for writing an ID are either right after I've made the drawing to post later (usually night time for me, within an hour or two of me going to bed), or right as I'm posting it. Neither are ideal as well, for the first one, I'd obviously be in more pain after just drawing. And for the second one, because of timezone stuff, I usually aim to post my art around my 8 - 9 am (5 - 6 pm EST). Unfortunately, due to the nature of my chronic pain, with it getting worse with inactivity, this is when my pain would be at its worst. After just sleeping. I take my pain meds in the morning with breakfast also, so they would be at their least effective around this time. I've also changed pain meds so now they're slow release, they don't immediately kick in anymore.
I used to add alt text more often, but it's really hard to get the energy to do it anymore when I know it's not only incredibly difficult to think of the words to do it, but also difficult to do the active process of typing it all up. Not that it wasn't difficult back then, I still struggled with thinking of words, but now there's more things at play. It was easier to get the energy when that was the only problem.
I know this is kind of ironic, as this post already has more words than an ID would. But truth is, I've already had to stop a couple of times to crack my knuckles and stretch my hands. This is still easier than doing an ID, because I don't need to struggle as much with thinking of the right words, but, still does make my hands hurt. Like, honestly, back when I was more frequently doing IDs, the fact that I'd need to do an ID actually stopped me from drawing ideas I had a couple of times, because I knew it would be too difficult to describe. I wish it was easier, I really do.
HOWEVER. I was planning on trying to my art 1 - 2 hours later. Bc while 5 - 6 pm is good with teens in mind, I think there's less of them in the HS fandom now. And now that I'm a little older, I think I'd want my audience to skew a little older anyway. Not that I'd be posting anything that'd be inappropriate on that blog, but more, most of my drawings have queer themes that are confusing on purpose in them, and I don't trust young teens to have the best ideas around it. However having said that I might end up starting a sideblog for more risky art, as nowadays I feel it'd be much easier to express queerness in that way, but that's unrelated lmfao. But yeah. Posting 1 - 2 hours later might make it a bit easier to do IDs also, because both my pain meds and my ADHD meds should've kicked in by then.
Funnily enough, I started writing this post right after taking them (a little under an hour ago now), and I was still struggling with thinking of words and typing those words. But of course it ended up being quite extensive, so clearly those problems have been helped lmfao. But, as expected, I'm now in a bit of pain, so now I'll probably rb like 1 or 2 posts and then just watch YouTube for a bit SDJGKSGD
