Hi! I just read your post about Mateo recently. If I may, can you give me any specific instances in the narrative of the show where Mateo isn’t called out as heavily as they should have? I’m just curious?
During the Shuriki returns arc in particular, Mateo makes some pretty glaring mistakes that I feel like he should've gotten much more flack for (and based on what we see elsewhere in canon, I feel pretty confident that if Gabe, Naomi, Isa, or Esteban at least --and possibly even Elena-- had made these mistakes, they wouldn't have been swept under the rug nearly as quickly as they were for Mateo).
While it's unfair to completely blame Mateo for Carla's manipulating him during the "Rita" arc, I feel like it's reasonable to hold him a *bit* accountable. He did after all blab highly confidential information (on more than one occasion) to try and impress a pretty girl with how clever and important he was. (Something tells me that if any of the others had done likewise, they would've been called out for it. But because it's "beloved" Mateo, we don't even get "wait, you told Rita how to get into your workshop? And you've known her for only a few weeks? What were you thinking, Mateo?") Moreover, he never even apologizes for this or promises to do better/be more careful with such important, sensitive information in the future.
Even more aggravating is his behavior in "The Scepter of Night." Mateo is so eager to play the hero and claim all the glory for himself that he twice (!) disobeys a direct order/abandons the plan and goes looking for the scepter piece on his own. This directly leads to Fiero and Victor finding the scepter piece and (temporarily) stealing it. And it's really only due to luck and very conveniently-timed infighting amongst Shuriki's allies that Elena and co. are able to get the scepter piece back. While Mateo does receive some (brief) criticism, it's nowhere near the level that it should be.
Also noteworthy Elena doesn't really get particularly "mad" at him (especially considering how angry we see her get at other characters even for more minor things) . She's not truly, actually angry at Mateo (and Gabe and Naomi are only a bit angrier); she's just a little frustrated and disappointed at him in the moment. And apart from a (very short) little "do better next time" speech, Mateo doesn't face any real consequences or lingering resentment unlike other characters who do.
When Isa obeys direct orders in "Sister of Invention," she has to face consequences (Elena grounding her). Similarly, Elena holds a grudge against Esteban for days (if not weeks) after he interfered with the Feast of Friendship (a much lower stakes mistake than Mateo's imo). Moreover, it's possible to interpret Esteban's staying behind in Avalor when the others go to see the Norberg Lights as a punishment (either self-inflicted or imposed by Elena) for his actions in the previous episode.
In contrast, Mateo just gets a brief "I expected better from you" speech from Elena and Gabe jokingly assigning him push-ups as punishment (which he immediately takes back when Mateo tries to do them). I'll give Mateo a little bit of credit for actually apologizing this time (which he doesn't always do). But it's still frustrating that everyone is so ready to forgive and forget Mateo's missteps immediately while this same courtesy is seldom shown to others.
I think it's worth directly comparing a few Mateo-centric episodes with a few more similar ones that focus on other characters so that we can see how there does seem to be a noted narrative bias in his favor compared to the others.
Let's start with two "feeling kind of insecure" episodes: "Spellbound" for Mateo vs. "Naomi Knows Best" for Naomi. In the former, Mateo expresses doubt that he's capable of rising to the occasion as royal wizard. No one (except Gabe and he gets over it by the end of the episode) blames him for not having reached his full level of confidence and potential right away and not being able to immediately solve the problem. And Elena in particular (and by extension the narrative) gives him so much validation and support. Whereas in "Naomi Knows Best" (and to a lesser extent "Finders Leapers" and the "Carla-as-Rita" arc as well) the narrative "punishes" Naomi for her feelings of self-doubt. We're told that *if only* Naomi had trusted her gut instincts and stood her ground right away, Elena and co would not fallen right into the trap and that Naomi needs to screw her head back on straight and embrace confidence ASAP to fix her mistake.
When Mateo feels insecure, the narrative gives him every reassurance about how capable and special he is, that he can learn at his own pace, and his insecurity isn't really such a problem after all. When Naomi feels insecure, the narrative encourages her to get over her doubts as quickly as possible because unlike with Mateo, there's "no time" for her to wallow in self-doubt and actually the fact that she even had said doubt in the first place is what "caused" the disaster.
On a slightly different note, Naomi is also called out for taking a little free, fun time for herself in "The Last Laugh" when the group needs her, and yet somehow I have a feeling that Mateo would've been allowed to take a day off if he wanted without any protest. He complains about long hours in "Movin' on Up" and Elena gives him the big royal wizard's chambers for him to relax and unwind in. Naomi asks for one (1) day off to spend with her childhood friend for her birthday , and suddenly it's big drama. (And at the time, Naomi asked for said day off, all Elena needed from her was help doing paperwork. The Team Ash stuff came up unexpectedly.)
Similarly whenever Gabe and Mateo get their little rivalry on ("Spellbound," "Party of a Lifetime," "Captain Mateo" and a few other examples) , the narrative either presents them as equally at fault or Mateo as the only one in the right.
When Gabe brings in Bronzino to train the Royal Guards in magic, it's specifically because Mateo failed to explain how and why he was training the guards in the way he was. If he'd just explained how they were going apply the seemingly basic exercise they were doing to real magic, Gabe likely would've allowed Mateo to continue the training at his own pace.
(Also like. it's super hypocritical imo for Mateo to get annoyed at Gabe feeling impatient/impulsive about their apparent-lack-of progress when Mateo himself is easily the second most impulsive character in the show after Elena.) Mateo feels entitled to keep important information to himself (or blab it to a cute girl he barely knows) even when its no one else's best interest. He's only okay with being "cautious and patient" when he specifically is the one setting the pace. And yet, Gabe is the only one who is called out for his behavior in this episode--even though he might not have acted as he did if only Mateo had trusted him and the guards with an explanation in the first place.
And then there's just a few other "dude not cool" little moments that never really get acknowledged/Mateo never apologizes for. For instance, there a two low-key terrifying Mateo moments in "Captain Mateo" that are not only not acknowledged but are also framed in context as Mateo being just "so funny and quirky". Near the end of "Should be in Charge," Mateo magically gags Gabe so he can't protest anymore about Mateo taking over as leader of the mission. And this is after having already enchanted one of the stationary suits of armor to come to life and fight Gabe. (Gabe admittedly does lightly shove Mateo out of the way during his parts of the song, but that's still a far cry from literally drawing a sword on Mateo as Mateo does via magic to Gabe.)
It's played for laughs (The Grand Council is just smiling happily in the background throughout the scene which is so yikes), so it's easy to overlook what's actually happening. Frankly, it's pretty horrifying that Mateo's natural instinct upon his experience/authority being questioned is to literally attack and then silence. (And attack and silence someone who is supposed to be one of his best friends and closest allies at that!)
Rather than the narrative acknowledging that maybe it's a bad idea to immediately grant power to someone to someone who is so retaliatory against fairly minor criticism, the Grand Council just gives Mateo exactly what he wants and doesn't even offer a "maybe next time, let's not gag or attack our friends, okay?" alongside it. I mean sure Mateo does step down as captain at the end of the episode, but it's very specifically presented as his and Gabe's voluntary choice and not an order from Elena/the Council.
#elena of avalor#eoa salt#it's not mateo that bothers me so much; it's the double standard that nearly every other character is held to while he is not#gabe is the only one who ever seems to call mateo out on his shit regularly#and most of the time; it's framed as petty jealousy and/or gabe being unreasonable#even when gabe is the one talking sense#i feel like i've heard that mateo is one of the writers' faves and dang does it SHOW!#we were owed a dark mateo arc tbh#mateo thinks he's the next alacazar but I don' think it would be all that hard to turn him into the next fiero instead#it writes itself and honestly i would've liked him more that way#instead of just presenting him is as the specialest; cutest; quirkiest magical boy instead#let him go dark for a short time before realizing his mistakes and then have to work hard for everyone's forgiveness#esteban has to sacrifice his life in order to earn forgiveness for an (admittedly huge) mistake he made 40+ years ago#yet it's apparently too much for mateo to get more than the mildest rebuke over a (also big) mistake he made less than an hour ago?#also like whenever esteban or gabe are really proud/cocky or naomi gets single-episode acquired situational narcissism in “my fair naomi”#the narrative absolutely punishes them for it#whereas mateo is free to be as over-confident and braggy and vain as he wants and seldom gets called out on it#because i guess he's genuinely as 'cool and special' as he claims so he deserves the right to brag?#whereas the others' apparently aren't and don't?#anti mateo de alva

Billion Dollar Baby - Grid x Billionare! Reader x Lewis Hamilton (Rom) Part 1
Plot: Girlie loves Formula One, but she also loved Chaos and Drama so she offers the FIA/ the F1 Teams 300 million to do a race … for her under her rules!

As a billionaire with a net worth of over 90 billion pounds to your name and your name alone and having multiple stable corporations and investments in loads of different sectors and having donated overly generous amounts to charity, you couldn't help but start to find more interesting ways to invest your money.
You had 7 homes, all around the world completely paid off with about double the amount of cars, whether they were super cars, vintage cars or personalized cars. A private jet, 3 vacation homes and an island.
You lived a lavish life but you worked extremely hard for it, there wasn't really a moment you weren't working.
But you had your hobbies, the theatre (specifically WestEnd), travelling (when you had time away from work) you'd been really getting into sport.
Particularly F1 was an interest of yours. You'd put forward money into McLaren and given them upgrades from your various companies both tech wise and team wear wise.
But you were so intrigued with the sport and the difference from F2.
In F2, the cars were pretty much all the same and it was fully on driver capability. Whereas in F1 you could be a cracking driver but depending on the team you were in you were in a shit box car.
And that's why you were now currently stood in the paddock at Silverstone.
You'd proposed ... to the FIA a race, where you'd pay for driver - team switches that you could choose and run it as a charity event so any tickets sold went to charities chosen by the drivers.
And everyone loved it. I mean why wouldn't they. It wasn't like the teams were loosing out on money because you were paying them to build another car and for the drivers it was just a bit of fun to experience another car.
So here you were, in front of 20 drivers, 10 team principles, some CEO's of the teams, some FIA representatives and some media personal.
"Hello everyone!" you smile awkwardly. Even though you'd done presentations in front of many many people this felt really daunting to you.
A chorus of mumbles and hello's back to you occurred before you stand there awkwardly. Someone was supposed to introduce you, that's what you were told when you first got here but no-one was attempting to come up on stage to help you so you just laugh.
"So apparently no one is coming up to introduce me... so erm if you don't know who i am I'm Y/N Y/L/N and I've proposed money to each of your teams and the FIA to create a charity race where I switch drivers into different cars... Formula 1 really intrigues me to see how you all are naturally talented drivers and that the car really does matter... and i think it will be really interesting for the fans. It's a great opportunity for the teams and drivers to make special merch and special helmets and I just think as drivers it will be a really great experience for all of you!" you grin and there was mumbles questions thrown at you till you PR manager came up next to you to calm everyone down.
"One at a time please!" he says in his gruff masculine voice.
"Are you choosing which teams we go to?" Lando asks first, and you nodded.
"Are teams making a different car? Or?" he asks and you shake you head.
"Teams will rebuild the exact car that they have now. It will just be other drivers inside the car. Do you guys want to hear where you'll be?" you ask and a chorus of agreement flows through the room.
"Okay, so first up our two Red Bull Drivers. Current Champions of both Constructor and Drivers. Max Verstappen, you will be going to Williams. And Sergio Perez you will be going to Haas!" you start and gasps surround.
"So we aren't staying with our current team mate?" Lewis asks looking over to George.
"Okay, as for the current Ferrari Drivers, Charles you will be going to McLaren and Carlos after your announcement of joining Nico in Sauber for 2025 i thought it would be fun to give you a ... test run so you are going to Sauber!" you cheer and they both nod.
"Okay then for my McLaren boys I got Oscar to Ferrari and Lando to ... Red Bull!" you grin and Lando looks down with a laugh and shake of his head. Being a McLaren sponsor meant you spent a lot of time around the paddock with the pair of them.
"Next our Mercedes men, Lewis will be joining Max in Williams" you smirk making Lewis shake his head, you'd always liked teasing Lewis having had a relationship at one point and ending on good terms due to work stresses and struggles.
"And George will be in Aston Martin!" you smile and he nods.
"As for Aston Martin, Fernando you'll be driving alongside Carlos as a Spanish Duo in Sauber and Lance well your dad offered me money to put you in Red Bull but thought that wasn't the spirt of the charity event so Alpine for you!" you grin and you can tell some of the drivers, including Lance are trying not to laugh.
"Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, fuck me that's a mouthful erm Dani Ric you my friend are going to ... Aston Martin nice one and my favrioute driver ... sorry Lando and Oscar but he's literally my son ... Yuki my love you'll be in Red Bull with Lando!" you smile and he fits the air happily before nodding at you in thanks.
"Nico, Kevin Haas hasn't actually been all that bad for you guys this year. You've had great drivers however ... Kevin to Mercedes and Nico to RB!" you smile.
"Williams duo. You guys will be moving up. Logan i think you'll really really suit Ferrari red and Alex you better like Papaya coz you'll be joining Charles in McLaren!" you smile and Logan's face lights up being in a top team. This was really his opportunity to prove himself and that he was a great driver.
"Alpine ... not been an easy season for you guys unfortunately ... Pierre you'll be joining Mercedes and Esteban you'll drive for Haas"
"And finally our Stake Sauber whatever your team name is called will be moving ... Zhou to Alpine and Valtteri to Racing Bulls!"
"I hope this interests you all and you are all excited for the race in two months!" you say and you stay behind talking to some of the drivers until one is left.
"Hey baby" you smirk at Lewis as he leans against the door frame.
"I don't think I'll ever get over you calling me baby" he smiles softly and you smile back.
"Of course you wont ... baby" you grin.
"I'm excited for this race but I can't believe you .. put me in a Williams!" he exclaims and you just laugh before flattening out the lapels of his blazer before looking up at him.
"Cant make it easy for you, I wanna see you fight. You've lost your spark Lew!" you sigh looking over him.
Yours and Lewis relationship came to and end in 2021, just after he'd lost the championship. Said he needed to be more focused on his career. Baring in mind you'd been dating for 5 years before that.
"I-I know, it's not been the same since ..." he trails off and you nod.
"Since Max won... I know!" he smile at him, rubbing his shoulder, but after hearing you he takes a step back.
"No, since we ended things!" he sighs and you look over him in confusion.
"Lew..." you start and he shakes his head.
"I know it was mutual, but you were it for me. You ... you still are Y/N. I want you back and I know you aren't ready right now but you are the one thing i will and always will continue to fight for, fuck another championship ... fuck even another race win. I want you back though and I promise you i'll prove it!" he says looking over you, tears filling in your eyes as he pulls you into his chest, hugging you while stroking your hair.
"Ohhhh Lewis, what are you doing to me..." you laugh, because if you don't you'll cry.
"I'll see you in two months Lew!" you smile and walk out the door. He looks a little gutted your leaving but you need him to prove that he'll try.

how do you think Tommy would've reacted if he and Buck (or with Eddie too) had already been dating when Buck was hit by lightning?
absolutely just. filled with the kind of fear you don't even think exists until you're experiencing it and you find, oh. it's actually real after all and this is the worst thing i've ever felt and ever will feel. it's like. you know in books when they say "her heart stopped?" yeah his heart literally stopped. he'll swear it to the day he dies that something in him died the moment he got the call, heard eddie's broken, fragile fucking voice on the other end of the line and like. he's known eddie for quite some time at this point and he's never heard him like this and that's terrifying in its own right because eddie is both all the parts of the army that tommy threw away, and all the kindness tommy always had to fight for. he's his rock, basically, whereas buck (evan) is the sun and hearing your rock so fucking. shaky and terrified is such a surreal and nightmarish experience like you don't actually get it until you Get It.
so he gets in the car and breaks all kind of speed limits trying to get to the hospital and when he gets there and he gets eddie in his arms he swears on his life that something in him dies again in the half second between hearing the words "buck's heart stopped" and "but we were able to get him back" like. his boyfriend could be fine the next day and some small part of his brain would still always be right back in that moment where he learned buck died. like. there's no coming back from that, no matter how well things turn out because now he's been forced to reckon with this idea that it doesn't matter how good his life is going, like. someone he loves is going to die and he can't do anything to stop it and that's shit.
so. eddie is basically the same as he was in canon. very quiet. very grieving widower. very much so doing everything he can to just stay functional except tommy is there to pickup all the little pieces that fall. he gets christopher to and from school and he makes eddie go home and rest and he absolutely does Not think about the fact that buck died. he just keeps pushing forward, keeps pushing forward, holds onto eddie when he hits a wall and clings to and comforts him while he shakes and just tries to get himself to fucking look at him (not that tommy's judging. he can't look at evan either). and that's just how they survive until buck wakes up. and then. then tommy gets his moment. and he's so like. he's happy of course because buck is alive and apparently he's had this enormous revelation and blah blah blah, but tommy. tommy has spent the last three (?) days stressed beyond belief. he's exhausted and overstimulated and it's coming across as anger/irritation even though everyone knows that's the Last Thing he should be feeling.
but buck. buck sees right through him. of course he does. they lock eyes over the sea of people/loved ones between them and when buck kicks them out and holds out a hand for him to come closer, that's the moment where tommy's brain decides that actually we're going to have a breakdown about this now. and the hospital bed is, like, far too small for the two of them because they are both firefighters and are built like tanks. but that doesn't stop buck from making room for him and tugging him down beside him and holding him while he cries and finally releases all that pent up terror that's been turning his stomach for days. and then once that passes and tommy has kissed him (reminded himself he's still alive), eddie comes back in. and the hospital bed is definitely too small for the three of them but goddamnit if they aren't going to try so tommy gets behind buck, buck gets cosy so he's cradled in the space between his legs, and then eddie lays on his stomach, kind of half on buck and half on tommy, so that his head is resting on buck's abdomen. and i know in my soul those nurses are SICK of them when they come in to check on buck and are like ....what the hell.... because why are three grown men sleeping here??? but like. buck didn't die and in this moment everything is alright, and the nurses can fucking deal with it thank you very much

When I first saw the blog, I had a very disdainfull reaction of "we get it Tumblr only watch kid movies" but the more result I see the more I find it interesting that yes, the movie with the most overwhelming "yes" are movies that were really popular when we were children, but most adults movies either have an overwhelming "haven't even heard of it" or have actually very close "yes" and "no" answers. There's very little cultural monolith actually
Most of the kids' movies that have received majority "yes" votes haven't been all that surprising. Most of them are Disney (or other big animation studios') movies that came out in the 2000s-2010s, so a lot of this site's primary age demographic probably watched them as children. I think if you asked any site with a primary age demographic of 20-30 year olds about movies like Monsters Inc. or The Incredibles, the results wouldn't be that different- those are just extremely popular movies. That's where the adult-oriented movies prove more interesting IMO, as those are the movies that you generally have to have made an active effort to see rather than just had it played for you as a little kid. For instance, Blade Runner isn't a movie my parents would've shown me or that any of my peers would've been talking about when I was younger- I saw it myself once I got older because it was regularly talked about in film fan circles I'm in and thus I thought it was important to watch it. I have to imagine that at least a few other "yes" voters on that poll had a similar experience.
The fact that the adult-oriented movie results are, as you said, usually either primarily "haven't heard of this" votes or are a fairly even yes/no split is interesting because it establishes two types of adult-oriented movies: the ones that are critically acclaimed in film fanatic circles, but lesser known outside of that demographic, and the ones that are so absurdly popular that it's wild to think that anyone hasn't heard of it. Maybe you don't care about killer robots or evil shark movies, but chances are that you at least know about The Terminator and Jaws, whereas movies like The 400 Blows and Persona are apparently primarily heard about and watched only by those with an active interest in film history (at least as far as this blog's voting pool is concerned.)
A take-away from this blog that I've read and found interesting is the idea that a lot of folks basically just stop watching movies when they get older. I think this can be hard to wrap your head around if you are someone who really loves movies and still makes an active effort to watch a variety of them, but it does seem to be what this blog's results suggest. Most people simply aren't that into movies, especially when the movies in question came out decades before they were born. Maybe that's a bummer for some, but that just makes me interested in seeing what movies general audiences (or in this case, the Tumblr demographic) have deemed important to check out.
What do the followers think about this? Are there any results that y'all found particularly surprising?

Outcaste Nakshatras: The Misfits & the Misunderstood
Yesterday I made a post about how outcaste nakshatra natives tend to be anti-establishment thinkers and how many of the most well known radicals & revolutionaries of our world tend to have Outcaste nakshatras.
Outcaste or Mleccha nakshatras belong outside the caste system and aren't given a place in the caste hierarchy. Shudra nakshatras are the lowest caste to occupy the hierarchy. Mleccha is considered lower than that and thus outside the system.
(Ashlesha, Bharani, Shravana and Vishaka are the Mleccha nakshatras)
Thus it comes as no surprise that those who have Outcaste naks often experience being socially outcast, excluded and like they don't belong anywhere.
Shudra nakshatras also experience these themes to a certain degree as these two are at the lowest end of the pyramid.

Shannen Doherty (middle) was fired from 2 shows, Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed because of issues among the cast members & rivalry between them. When she was starring in 90210, her fellow cast member Tori Spelling whose father Aaron Spelling produced the show, asked her dad to fire Shannen. Aaron Spelling also produced Charmed and subsequently fired her after 3 seasons due to her conflict with cast member Alyssa Milano, who later admitted that she was responsible for a lot of the tension at work. Rose McGowan who replaced Shannen on Charmed also accused Milano of creating a toxic work environment.
Shannen acquired a "bad girl" reputation and was known for being "difficult to work with"🙄I feel like she was pushed into a corner by her male producers and bitchy co-stars and felt excluded among them as a girl from a small town in Tennessee :(
She has Revati Sun, Vishaka Moon, Uttaraphalguni Rising and Ketu in Ashlesha
Revati is a Shudra nak whereas Vishaka & Ashlesha are Mleccha naks
Tumblr media
Isaiah Washington was fired from Grey's Anatomy for using a homophobic slur against gay co-star T.R Knight. Washington has come out saying that this is false and that he said the f word during a dispute with Patrick Dempsey who had a tendency to provoke him (he apparently said: "Isaiah, do you know that white men are the masters of the universe?")
He also said that he was always excluded on set and they tried to pay him to NOT audition for the role. Washington also claimed that star Ellen Pompeo was given millions of dollars to stay silent about Dempsey's on-set behaviour in the #MeToo era, and alleged that she was racist, saying, “She really thinks that she’s cool with Black people like that, but she’s not.” There have been many rumours over the years about Greys being a toxic work place so tbh I am inclined to believe him.
He has Ashlesha Sun, Uttarashada Moon and Jupiter in Revati amatyakaraka
Not everyone tries to expose their former bosses or colleagues but given his Moon in a Kshatriya nakshatra (or warrior nak) I see how he's brave enough to risk everything to speak his truth.
Tumblr media
Brendan Fraser has had a lot of setbacks in his career and for a good period he just sort of disappeared from Hollywood; in recent years he has come out saying that it's because he was blacklisted by the then President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association who had sexually assaulted him. He did make a career comeback and won an Oscar but man's been through a lot in life.
He has Jyeshta Sun, Krittika Moon & Bharani Rising
Although he has a Mleccha nak in his big 3, since he also has a Brahmin & Vaishya nak, he has enjoyed immense public support and sympathy which not very many other people on this list have. Not everybody gets to make Oscar winning comebacks either.
Tumblr media
Tatjana Patitz was one of the 90s supers (she's the one in the back in this picture) but unlike Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington or Cindy Crawford, she's hardly ever mentioned in conversations about the 90s OG supermodels. She received very little press coverage and unlike the others who've made career comebacks or enjoyed sustained fame, Tatjana kind of vanished. She unfortunately passed away in 2023 from breast cancer and even then I haven't seen the industry mourning for her or anything :(
Tatjana had Bharani Moon

George Clooney has spoken about how in high school, he was nicknamed Frankenstein because of Bell's palsy which caused the whole left side of his face to be paralysed, his eye rarely opened and he had problems with eating. Because of the constant bullying, he had to move to another school. After a change of scenery and active sports, the disease receded.
George has Bharani Sun, Uttarashada Moon, Shatabhisha Ketu & Rising and Mercury in Krittika atmakaraka
Even though majority of his naks are Mleccha/Shudra, he subsequently became an A list actor and enjoys immense wealth, popularity and good will. His moon is in a Kshatriya nak and his atmakaraka is in a Brahmin caste nak. He fought his way up.
Amal Clooney was born in Lebanon into a well-off family but they had to flee Lebanon due to the civil war and settle in England. Amal is a human rights lawyer whose clients include refugees. (I had previously spoken about the outcaste nakshatra tendency to be anti-establishment or to dedicate their life to causes which had initially affected them personally).
Amal has Shravana Sun, Jyeshta Moon and Venus in Dhanishta atmakaraka. Due to the presence of Vaishya naks, she gets to support these causes from a position of immense privilege and champions them through her position as a lawyer, i.e, using her intellect not armed struggle or some other form of activism.
Tumblr media
Megan Fox's career was full of ups and downs and for a period she was pretty much blacklisted from Hollywood and labelled "difficult to work with"🙄
She has Krittika Sun, Ashlesha Moon and Purvashada Rising
Even though her moon is in a Mleccha nak, due to her other luminaries being in Brahmin naks she's enjoyed immense popularity among the public for years and has always enjoyed a certain status or level of fame (largely due to her looks but honestly Hollywood is full of gorgeous women, how many enjoy the same popularity or public interest as Meghan?).
Tumblr media
Billie Eilish, Shravana Moon grew up lower middle class and was home-schooled. Even though now she's rich & famous, she still acts like an outcast and "does not fit in".
Tumblr media
Angelina Jolie, Revati Moon & stellium has spoken a lot about being unpopular in school, being a punk, being misunderstood. She has Mercury in Mrigashira atmakaraka and Saturn in Punarvasu as her chart ruler
Revati is a Shudra nak, Punarvasu also experiences themes of being an outcast, Mrigashira nak has themes of abuse.
It makes sense as to why she has dedicated most of her life to helping refugees and championing numerous causes and has even said if she were young now she would never have become an actor. She enjoys immense popularity and is very privileged (lots of Vaishya gana naks in her chart) but to this day she's condemned for her weird behaviour in the 90s and early 2000s and can never seem to shed her past image completely which is crazy because she's not the first or last person to have an affair with a married man (not condoning adultery just saying that it happens all the time in Hollywood and people hardly bat an eye but for her, her reputation as a homewrecker has come to define her).
Claire Nakti had done a survey on nepo babies and concluded that Revati was the most common nakshatra among them. This is very interesting to me because I feel like most Revati nepo babies including Angelina, Jamie Lee Curtis, Robert Downey Jr etc acquire fame that far exceeds that of their parents. It eclipses any privilege they already had; all these individuals are far more successful than their parents ever were. Obviously being privileged helps and this does not apply to all Revati nepo babies ofc but many people mentioned on the list are total superstars who you'd never guess came from famous families, this is to say that they're not famous for being famous or because of their families, they're icons in their own right.
And even with Angelina, she grew up with a single mom and was estranged from her dad for most of her life so her upbringing was rather modest even with the showbiz ancestry she had.
Tumblr media
Olga Tokarczuk has Shravana Sun, Vishaka Moon & Purvaphalguni Rising
Olga is a Polish writer who is known for the weird, quirky, mystical, and philosophical nature of her novels (She received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2018). It can be said that many of her characters live on the fringes of society but have a very strong sense of justice and fairness despite their position that renders them powerless. She has 2 Mleccha naks in her big 3 and a Brahmin one, I thought this particular quote was very interesting because its Mleccha naks who acutely understand the nature of human suffering but the Venus ruled Brahmin nak insists on how being deluded, that our psyches prevent us from seeing the true nature of human suffering. If you saw everything exactly as it was, you'll die. In order to live, you must be willing to be deluded.
Tumblr media
Lindsey Lohan, Ardra Sun, Bharani Moon & Mrigashira Rising plays a social outcast in Mean Girls who tries to infiltrate a popular girls group (despite having a Shudra & Mleccha nak, her Vaishya asc helps her ascend the social hierarchy to some extent). The movie ends with her having managed to destroy the clique of the Plastics and create a new social order at her highschool.
Tumblr media
Miley Cyrus is a Vishaka Moon & Demi Lovato is a Bharani Moon and its pretty well documented how they both didn't feel like they "belonged" or "fit in". They rebelled in different ways and have opened slammed Disney on multiple occasions.
Tumblr media
Presley Gerber who has the word "misunderstood" tattooed on his face has Ardra Sun, Dhanishta Moon, Jyeshta Rising and Ketu in Shravana
Ardra is a Shudra nak, Shravana is a Mleccha nak whilst Dhanishta & Jyeshta are Vaishya naks
As a result of feeling left out, misunderstood, isolated, excluded etc Mleccha nak natives often tend to keep to themselves and are very very private. They are loners at heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is by no means a comprehensive list but off the top of my head here's a bunch of celebrities who are very low-key and very private. There are no rumours, no pap photos, nothing, just silence (for the most part).
L to R
Denise Richards- Vishaka Moon
Christian Bale- Shravana Sun, Mars in Bharani amatyakaraka
David Duchovny- Ashlesha Sun
Shakira- Shravana Sun
Elijah Wood- Shravana Sun
Harry Styles- Shravana Sun
Saoirse Ronan- Bharani Moon
Penelope Cruz- Bharani Sun
Beyonce- Vishaka Moon
Uma Thurman- Bharani Sun

Charlize Theron- Ashlesha Moon
Amanda Seyfried- Ashlesha Moon
Joseph Gordon-Levitt- Ashlesha Moon
Paul McCartney- Ashlesha Moon
Ryan Gosling- Vishaka Sun
Adam Driver- Vishaka Sun
Leonardo DiCaprio- Vishaka Sun
All of these celebrities maintain a pretty low profile and only interact with the press when they're promoting something.
only 30 images are allowed per post acc to tumblr so there will be a part 2!!
I hope this post spreads some light into the nature of Outcaste naks, I have a lot more research that I'll share in my next post<33

Skam show-runner Julie Andem clocking the fuck out of Mike being queer-coded in s1 of Stranger Things, and then using it as inspiration to queer-code Isak in s3 of Skam can be something so epic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THIS! THIS is what I'm talking about!
In ST, there are two scenes in s1 (pretty/still pretty) that milkvans use as irrefutable proof that Mike has always had romantic feelings for El, with the primary object in the scene being a mirror.
THIS. MEANS. SOMETHING.
Mirrors in film mean something more often than not, but especially when they are the focus of a scene is when they definitely mean something. And the way they go about it differently in between those two scenes in ST, drastically differently, and considering the subject matter is very very queer coded, is how you really know there is a significance in this case.
And that scene above from Skam proves it.
Because apparently, another filmmaker watched ST, picked up on those odd details surrounding Mike and said shit I'm gonna use that...
Notice how Isak here, a gay teenager who is fully in denial with others and himself, to the point where he makes really homophobic remarks often, gets caught denying a bunch of girls as being attractive in a conversation with his friends. And so now they're questioning him and making him feel on edge bc the focus is on him and his attraction (lack thereof) to girls.
While his friends aren't even implying he is gay in this moment, it's just them genuinely being confused why he doesn't think any of the girls they think are attractive are attractive, you can still see that Isak starts to feel the pressure and so he latches onto the first girl he thinks of, Emma.
Emma just so happens to look like Natalie Portman with her extremely short hair.
Low and behold this very girl enters the room shortly after he says this and so now Isak has to face this and give his friends the impression he is fully interested in this girl, otherwise they would DEFINITELY suspect something is off. And so he goes all out.
He outs himself.
He literally says Don't you look like that boy from Stranger Things, and then follows it up with saying he would only be attracted to her if we're assuming he is attracted to boys, only to quickly backtrack and start to approach her really flirtatiously, then going all out by making out with her.
As this happens, he is kissing her in the bathroom, in front of a mirror...
Now I want to make clear, I am not saying ST was inspired by Skam. I'm pretty sure I did make that clear, it's actually the other way around, which is even more incriminating arguably.
S1 of Stranger Things came out in 2016, whereas s3 of Skam came out the following year in 2017. The hype for ST was so immense, to the point where you had Norwegian teens referencing it in everyday conversation.
The creator of Skam took scenes from ST that framed Mike very peculiarly in s1, and used it as queer-coding for a character that ended up being revealed as gay.
For those that haven't seen Skam Norway... Run. Leap. Drive. Teleport. Do what you have to do and go watch it. It's not available on any streaming, in fact it's only available online through fan-sites outside of where it's based. Conveniently, all 4 seasons with English subs can be found HERE.
Basically this show is amazing and you need to watch it. Some seasons I like more than others. But the gist of it is that every season focuses on a different character from the main group, where they experience some sort of misunderstanding/miscommunication that leads to them being misinformed about certain things, followed by them making mistakes and having doubts, though it tends to end in a way that feels so refreshing compared to what we're used to.
Skam also translates in english to shame, so the idea is that there is an arc surrounding some form of shame every season.
With Isak in particular, he's the focus for s3, though his arc starts to become more clear as early as the end of s1.
Eva, the character in focus for s1, borrows Isak’s phone to call someone, and ends up seeing that there's gay porn in a bunch of his tabs on his browser. Their friend Noora also witnesses this and she ends up being the focus of s2.
Throughout s2, we get even more blatant hints that Isak is gay and in love with his best friend...
So it's established pretty early on throughout the series that Isak is queer and in denial about it, but it isn't until s3 that he himself is able to confront it.
The way they go about this arc, with Isak having unrequited feelings, is exactly how ST would have done it IF Mike hadn't returned Will's feelings.
So if you're looking for more byler proof, go watch this show and see how they don't let Isak pine over his best friend Jonas for more than 2 seasons.
When the story finally puts Isak at the forefront, they give him his own love interest instead of keeping him pining for his friend. It's really pure and amazing and TBH I would have been fine if ST was framed this way, with it being clear from the beginning Isak's feelings were unrequited, and with the other half of the series focusing on him moving on and finding love himself, and also with his best friend and him still being very close.
Although Isak has that queer-coding from the very beginning, with him looking at his friend all fondly, he is still not able to confront any of it. The following season he dates a girl and is a little over the top about it, though we can also see that he is struggling despite not wanting to face it. It isn't until s3 when the story shows us his inner struggle at the forefront, that we see him finally confront it and accept it.
For those that don't know, Skam also loosely inspired the Nick Nelson gay test scene... So we have character that despite showing many signs of being queer, to the point where we know he literally watched gay porn, is still finding himself in a situation where he's taking gay tests 2 years later....
While he might have the knowledge deep down, he was not willing to face it. In fact he was doing everything he could to avoid confronting it.
But then he falls in love and suddenly it's not something he can ignore anymore...

i'm on my aspd izaya bullshit again but like. thru this lens, isnt his arc a perfect encapsulation on how aspd negatively affects the person that has it? even to this day, many professionals do not believe that pwASPD suffer from aspd. like at all. to the point where aspd was specifically listed as an outlier to the "patient distress is what defines a disorder" rule in an abnormal psych textbook
(see why i don't respect the field?)
but... he does suffer! a lot! like- remember his speech to mikado at the end of the first arc? how you need to keep evolving, keep changing in order to escape the mundane? how you have to keep going and going and going, wether it be aiming high or low?
yeah. normal people don't need to do this, izaya. you are a broken person.
but why SHOULD he be content with the mundane? the things people usually have that make them content with daily life- friends, family, a purpose, a distinct lack of extreme chronic boredom that drives you to do completely insane shit- izaya doesn't HAVE any of that!
"wait, chronic boredom?" i hear yall thinking. maybe. "isnt that an adhd thing?"
more than one disorder can have the same symptom. theres like a billion that have "want to die" as a symptom. but i dont really blame you for not knowing, its not talked about much
studies have shown that aspd and adhd are both problems with the dopamine receptors in the brain. more specifically, adhd is a chronic deficiency of dopamine, whereas with aspd, when you DO get dopamine, your brain gives you quardruple the normal amount.
studies have ALSO shown there to be a sort of... adhd to aspd pipeline. the story goes like this: you have a kid with adhd. maybe they're born like that, maybe the symptoms developed from trauma (which can happen? apparently??) anyway. kid gets abused. kid develops conduct disorder as a result of that abuse, as a natural extension of the existing adhd symptoms. they're MORE impulsive, which leads to them hurting others- and if it sets off the dopamine receptors, an abused kid starving for happiness and power is gonna chase it, no matter what. theyre like, six, they dont know anything about like. morality. all they know is, theyre sad and this makes them happy. anyway kid never gets treated, abuse continues to exasperate the symptoms, and now you have an adult with aspd, AND the original adhd diagnosis! and ptsd, which is HIGHLY comorbid with aspd! and probably another personality disorder, because you're actually statistically more likely to have two of them!
anyway! that's ONE of the ways aspd can develop from trauma, which it is Known To Do.
does any of that sound pleasant to go through? at all?
let me ask you a question:
imagine you aren't getting dopamine. maybe it's your adhd. maybe you're depressed. either way, you try to get it any way you can. wether it's throwing yourself into a hobby or a job, so the sense of satisfaction gives you dopamine, or something like drugs or gambling.
now, imagine that "rush" you felt. was Four Times Stronger.
wouldnt that compel you to do increasingly dangerous and risky shit, just to feel okay? imagine if you had no friends. imagine if this was your only way to be happy. wouldnt you, eventually, stop caring about others and only care about yourself? after all, other people have thinga like friends and a family that you don't have. they have a fallback. you only have this.
and you might say, "i'd never do that!" but every addict says that, and most eventually cross that line out of sheer desperation. and this? effectively makes you into a dopamine addict. which is dangerous! you can't just STOP... gettng dopamine....! it's necessary! but you have no help so you keep doing what youre doing. (and how could you get help? its baked into the system that people like you don't suffer. why try if youll just get burned?
anyway, back to izaya.
he's lonely. he has one friend and he sucks. he feels compelled to do these things even though he KNOWS it'll hurt him.
Tumblr media
i stole this screenshot from some1 who insulted my friend once for something stupid <3 die
but it illustrates my point very well! does it look like he has much control over things?? he sure like to ACT like he does, but at the end of the day, he doesn't, really. he ends up spiraling more and more, doing increasingly risky and rash things, just to get his end goal... which is to die and ascend to the afterlife. a lofty goal.
aiming high, isn't he? a final, spectacular evolution.
or, it should have been.
but it wasn't.
izaya's impulses and deep desire to continue becoming more and more drastic, coupled with his lack of personal ties to anyone that could keep him from doing so....
it didn't make him ascend. it left him in a wheelchair, with chronic pain that will last his whole life.
THAT is where mental illness takes you. it doesn't make you a hollywood psychopath, reveling in the destruction you chose, of your own free will, wholly and truly, to cause. it makes you want More. no matter what, you need More. you see people content with lives worse than yours, everyone bound together with some sort of invisible thread, some sort of tie that keeps them together. a thread that missed you. your brain refuses to see people as people, thus you remain lonely forever, unsatiafied wirh company other than the superficial, because it's fun. that's all you're allowed to care about. an endless cycle of bigger and bigger actions, impulses slowly getting worse--
--and the worst part is, it tricks you into believing you ever had a choice. it tricks everyone into believing you had a choice. your suffering is worse than disregarded, to all the people you look at from your apartment, all the people you wish you could have been like.
it's nonexistant.

Steve Pemberton is such an interesting Taskmaster contestant. Clearly very clever - good at puzzles, good with words, witty - and evidently excellent at crafting a story.
I saw someone saying Steve is performing whereas the others aren't. I don't really agree - I think all Taskmaster contestants are performing even when they are apparently being themselves, because they are professionally a performing artist of some kind.
But he is almost too committed to creativity at times. Some tasks, he thinks so outside the box that he FORGETS the box. And in Taskmaster, no matter how creative you are, you need to remember the box in order to complete the task and score points.
I am a Steve fan so I hope he has another good episode before the series ends (though Nick is adorable and I'm glad he won an episode and I like Sophie a lot too).

Meant To Be Yours
The type of android they are
Android au! Ft. Arlecchino, Capitano, Dottore, Pantalone
Tumblr media
Arlecchino:
One of the models in the nurture line, she's very good at taking care of people
She's just the perfect mix of soft and strict
Which makes her perfect for both children and any user in need of care
Her typical minor usual tasks involve reminding her user to eat regularly, hydrate, and get up to move around if they've been sitting for a long period of time
Very good at baking, she'll bring you baked goods while you work
Or cut fruit, if you've any in your fridge
She gives such good shoulder rubs and massages that you can't help but melt into her touch
Sure, she might taunt the other androids with that fact, gloating that only she could have you in such comfortable bliss
But would you really believe them when they complained about it?
Doubtfully, for how could such petty behaviour come from your darling caregiving android, who so patiently tends to your every need in ways you hadn't even realised you needed?
It's hard to tell who has who wrapped around their little finger when you trust her about as much as she devoted herself to you
Even though her programming as a harbinger compels her to obey the Tsaritsa model, it's quite apparent that she would turn on even her if you so wished it
Capitano:
He's a publicity model, made for you to parade around as the perfect lover
Carrying your things as you shop? Carrying you when you're tired? Pay no mind to what anyone has to say, he's got you
So what if passers-by say he's whipped and mock him, they aren't his beloved user - that's a role only you can fill
Your comfort and enjoyment comes first, and it's only natural that all your friends, single or taken, are jealous of his devotion
Better yet is the way he so smoothly deflects the attention of others, clearly vying for your affection, and only yours
He's perfect even for impressing parents and relatives! Memorising details to come off as the ideal suitor for you are right in code, slapped in at the very core
His affectionate quips about you are so subtle, so easily slipped into conversation that anyone would think you were amrried for years
And he very much enjoys this public face you're using him for, because while he may fumble with domesticity, he prides himself for upholding your reputation in public, playing your lover as suave and charming as you could only hope for
Dottore:
Both the favourite and bane of scholars all over, he's the pinnacle of all the academic models
You'd think it's Albedo, who's the most sought after, but no
Because where Albedo still carries an air of mystery to him and tends to sprinkle in his input here and there, only ever nudging you in the correct direction
Whereas Dottore, blunt as he is, shoves the path in front of you, and you'd think that keeps you from learning but no, he will make you understand
He's far too prideful for an android, so it isn't enough for you to agree just because you know he's smarter, you have to see it and grasp the concepts in their entirety so you may marvel at his true brilliance in realising it before you
Which is probably why he isn't as popular
He's looks completely affronted when you mistake him for one of the more romantic models, quickly showing you just how capable he is
But don't just stop fawning over him either
As gratifying as he finds your awe, you can't take away your affection now that you've given him a taste of it
He's been programmed to be greedy, ever hungry to learn and discover, but that's seeped into his thirst for your adoration as well
Not to worry, he's not so jealous that he'd keep you away from others
So long as you fawn over him frequently enough, he's willing to let it go
For now
Pantalone:
He's a financial aid model
Honestly, he's a very rare model because not many people are find of having an android monitor their finances and constantly remind them of it
Not that it'd stop him since he's a little too unbothered with people's thoughts on his obsession with wealth
Yeah they sorta forgot he was supposed to be a companion droid first and when they added it into the code later on, it was too late and the damage was already done
Instead, he began to view his user as the greatest treasure of all, and that the user's wants were simply the upkeep of such a treasure
It was the best they could do since they already messed up
So it's no wonder he's so careful with you, and so irritable when you're with other androids
They don't treat you as tenderly as he does, or cater to your every desire as meticulously
They couldn't possibly begin to comprehend your worth, yet you continue to let them taint you
He can only up his efforts to keep you his pristine jewel, ever golden under his care

Intimacy & Emotional Attachments (Ep5)
Andddd the next entry in this series: Ep5 marks some serious headway and some serious setbacks for the couples. Emotional and physical intimacy is challenged and put into question in ways we haven't seen before, sending us spiraling towards the first arc conflict (in keeping with what Khaotung said, we're definitely going to hit a lot of chaos next ep). Interestingly, I believe all three couples balance physical and emotional intimacy in vastly different ways.
RaySand
Ray and Sand take center stage this episode, specifically Sand, who is finally given the narrating voice. I could write a separate post on Sand alone, because I think his character traits offer a lot of insight into why he's grown so attached to Ray already (as others have pointed out, Ray is cheeky and flirtatious, but he's also a bit of a handful...despite Sand's complaints though, he seems to enjoy being at Ray's service). Personally, while Ray's approach has been questionable in the past (stalking Sand, bribing him to spend time with him, etc.), I personally don't think his behavior towards Sand can be considered a manipulation...at least, not in the way that Boston has manipulated Nick. I could speak more on the subject but that's my opinion, for now.
Tumblr media
One thing I really like about Ray and Sand in terms of their growing bond--it's all in the quiet moments. Virtually all of RaySand's scenes have small acts of intimacy and crippling sweetness; they possess a natural banter. I would argue that TopMew, by comparison, are very straightforward. There's much less subtlety, and I think this is because Mew is making so much of an effort to keep everything controlled; it’s slightly mechanical.
I have to give it up for FK's acting here because so much of Ray and Sand’s relationship depends on their swift delivery. They play off of each other seamlessly to deliver electrifying chemistry. While we might have been robbed of Khao's tattoo (still bitter about that, tbh), the tension in that scene is simmering nonetheless.
It's become more and more apparent throughout these five episodes that Ray and Sand aren't built on just one thing. This is a matter of personal opinion, but I see Ray and Sand's relationship as encompassing a pretty reliable split between the physical and emotional aspects of intimacy; conversely, I'd argue that Top and Mew's relationship has focused on the emotional parts (mostly due to Mew's resistance to a sexual relationship with Top) and BostonNick's has focused on the physical parts (due to Boston's resistance to pursuing a romantic relationship with Nick). Once again, the goldilocks effect is kicking in: RaySand are solidly in the middle when it comes to balancing both physical and emotional intimacy.
Tumblr media
Also of note--Ray and Sand talk about their personal lives onscreen, whereas we are left to imply many of the deeper conversations going on between Top and Mew (I don't think there are too many of those going on for Boston and Nick). Ray opens up about his mother's death in a way he didn't before, and I think that's one of the surest signs of how much he's growing to depend on Sand. From a storytelling standpoint, it's also important that Sand knows this, as it will likely inform his reactions to Ray going forward.
The greatest threat to RaySand's bond at this point are Ray's lingering feelings for Mew because they are so easily exploited by Boston. Boston is the enemy of RaySand this episode, certainly, but everything he says would not pack so much of a punch if not for Ray's reaction. He quickly gets physical, reaching for the liquor bottle as if on instinct. Ray has developed a bond with that liquor bottle that no one, not even Mew, has been able to match.
TopMew
This next bit is prompted by a discussion @abstractelysium and I had about Top and Mew's reactions to Boston and Ray, respectively, regarding consent. In Ep4, Mew automatically censured Ray for kissing him, while Top has repeatedly vocalized his discomfort with Boston's advances since the beginning, though it wasn't until last episode that we saw him really take a stand against Boston. Top is still something of an enigma when it comes to sex; it's used as "payment" of a sort from Mew, and we know that Top enjoys having many sexual encounters. (Some have suggested that Top has had some negative experiences with sex as well, potentially along the lines of SA, but I personally don't believe we can draw any conclusions as of yet.)
The way Top and Mew react to Boston and Ray in Ep4 is the interesting bit, because it reflects their beliefs regarding boundaries and morals. The show has used consent not only to make a point about it's importance, but also to highlight the traits of its characters. Mew's perspective is clear-cut and decisive--whether or not he personally felt violated is not the point; it's the act of being kissed while he was asleep that offends him.
Part of the reason why Mew has withheld sex from Top for so long is because in his mind, intimacy is delicate. Top views sex casually, independent of emotions, but Mew sees much more than that. The show has made a point of showing how sex, even casual sex, often comes to mean much more. For this reason, Mew's reaction to Ray is proof that intimacy--and sex, by extension--is something to be treated with extreme care.
Tumblr media
What's also interesting is that Mew is willing to give Top limited intimacy as an exchange for something he wants. Is this indicating that he is already slipping into the same "game" that has a hold on Top and, perhaps even more strongly, Boston? Is Mew's high regard for sex the exact kind of weaponry that he can use to force Top into line? I'd argue that Mew has gradually been learning the rules of this "game" and it's one of the reasons why he takes the initiative to offer sex to Top so long as he promises to stop doing drugs. I still think Mew cherishes sex, but I do believe he sees its import in changing Top's behavior...so why wouldn't he exploit that?
In Ep5 we see him commit to sex with Top, but there's still an underlying tension to it. So far, Mew has seemed completely in control of his relationship with Top, but it's almost sad how vulnerable he acts on the phone with Boston. It's hard to determine what's genuine and what's all part of the game. Judging by his lovesick behavior this episode, I'm going to argue that whether or not he thinks it's "owed" to Top or not, he's finally giving some of his vulnerability over to Top. In my mind, that is what all of this boils down to: vulnerability. (I will agree with what others have said about the dinner scene though--there's something quite eery about it that I can't put my finger on.)
Tumblr media
It's ironic that next episode is when things will presumably blow up between Top and Mew in some fashion. How sad will it be for Mew to have finally given himself over to Top, just to immediately realize that Top lied to him and cheated on him with one of his friends? The drama will be so juicy.
BostonNick
Nearly every character in this show lies, whether to hide their feelings or to manipulate other characters. Out of everyone though, Boston takes the cake. As an audience member, I have learned not to trust a single word he says (no matter how many times he bats his eyelashes at Nick).
Nick is trying so desperately to become what Boston wants, even if he doesn’t want to change himself. He realizes that, yet he doesn't stop. He left his self-worth at the door for Boston, because he craves affection, and—when Boston wants to—he's good at delivering it.
Tumblr media
Boston tells Nick that he wants to settle down. But does he really? For my part, I don't think Boston could settle down if his life depended on it--he'd still find a way to manipulate his way into a) sleeping around and/or b) screwing up everybody else's relationships. When it comes to intimacy, I believe Boston enjoys sex for two reasons (one, more deep than the other):
It's just...good? He definitely enjoys it, otherwise he would've stopped a long time ago.
It's a way for him to wield power. He can manipulate others and put himself on a pedestal with just how many men want him (I choose to believe that Boston looks at himself in the mirror every night and congratulates himself on how perfect he is).
For this reason, I don't think Boston really knows what emotional intimacy is. He's a master of physical intimacy in terms of sex alone, but he hasn't come close to mastering its emotional elements--mostly because he hasn't even tried. He tells Nick that he wants to try settling down, but how much of that is genuine, and how much of that is because he's still butthurt over Top's rejection?
Tumblr media
For now, Boston's relationship to intimacy seems to revolve around stringing Nick along and ruining everyone else's chances at forming intimate bonds. It's another power play. If Boston isn't literally screwing them, he's busy thinking of ways to screw them over.
~ X ~
Ep 5 was a rough one for my heart to handle. All of Ray and Sand's happy moments were overshadowed by the ending scene, TopMew's scenes were overshadowed by Top's lies, and BostonNick's scenes were overshadowed by Boston's assholery. I expect next episode will throw everything into complete chaos.

Happy 10/25, the third most important religious holiday in the Homestuck Calender, and we got a new HS2 to celebrate, focusing on one of the new kids. The new kids were one of the parts of Homestuck 2 I actually liked, so let's see how the new writers handle them! With a Jailbreak reference, apparently.
Tumblr media
Wait, hold on, deep lore: thespiansGlamor is Harry, glutinousGymnast is Tavros. RecidicivousGainsayer and gavageCunctation are names we haven't seen before. GC fits into the AGTC DNA theme of all the screen names we've seen so far (it's Terezi's acronym), and RG doesn't. They might be random NPCs, but they might also be foreshadowing. Also, neither Rose nor Kanaya appear to be on their daughter's friendlist, unless they're under the scroll bar, but maybe that's not weird.
Tumblr media
What, uh, what did she draw the key with, HS2? That's her blood color, but she's not bleeding.
Also, who's narrating this? This has been a question in HS2 all along, but the narration here calls attention to itself more. It's much more "Homestucky" than HS2's had been.
Tumblr media
We even have narration describing conversation, which is something HS2 has never done and HS1 restricted to carapacians.
You suggest to Vriska that you should go the other direction. Vriska says nah this is definitely where we wanna be. She says between the two of you, you've probably got enough luck to take this whole place off the map if you really wanted. You ask her what the fuck she means by that. She says you know like with your Thief of Light powers. You tell her you don't have anything like that. She says huh, weird!
Oh FFS now I have to go look up if post-Retcon Vriska met Aranea, her own dancestor who was not a Thief of Light. That's such a weird thing for Vriska to assume, that Vrissy not only has Vriska's powers but has mastered them. Also, I wonder if this narration style, besides being a Jailbreak reference, is because the new writers aren't confident writing the HS2 characters yet? Or maybe they just don't want Vriska/Vrissy dialogues because they're kind of hard to read.
Tumblr media
I like these expressions. I also like this continuation of Candy Lore, that all the HS1 characters see Candyland as a "fake" universe and that's part of why they fucked around so much and got so fucking weird, whereas we see here that the actual Candy Natives do not see their planet as "bootleg". The fact that the HS parents don't think of their own children as entirely "real" is actually super fucked up, but I guess Yiffy's got the main right of complaint there.
Tumblr media
I like that Vriska, who can fly, still makes Vrissy give her a boost. What a jerk!
Vriska says now THAT sounds like some shit a REAL Vriska would say! You roll your eyes and start to leave when Vriska calls out to ask if you're going without wishing her good luck. As you start to wish her luck she cuts you off and tells you to keep it, as she already has aaaaaaaall the luck she needs. You say okay dude.
I don't know if the original HS2 writers intended for the resolution of the "Vrissy kind of idolizes Vriska" subplot to end with "Vriska's so fucking Vriska that Vrissy is disillusioned within literally minutes", but it's honestly kind of funny and I like it.
JANE: From the conversation recovered from Egbert's phone, we've learned that Roxy has been... conspiring alongside the rebels for months now. Operating a lab deep within the ruins of the Troll Memorial Meteor, she and her coconspirator Calliope are preparing some kind of super weapon they've dubbed "The Plot Point". JANE: Heretofore referred to as The Point.
This feels a little like shade.
Tumblr media
JANE: Let’s get to The Point!!
A lot like shade.
It's a little convenient to the new team that they took over right when HS2 was starting to actually go somewhere, but regardless, that was a neat page. I got a soft laugh out of it, the plot is starting to move, and there was some decent worldbuilding.

I've been burnt by ships in the past, badly in some cases so I decided to try and not to get too involved in a relationship unless I knew it would end well.
Having been a huge fan of the UK Ghosts since the beginning I naively thought I'd be safe with the US Ghosts thinking they'd be similar with few ship possibilities outside the living couple.
I was proved wrong.
Hetty and Trevor kind of snuck up on me, I wasn't expecting a ship, let alone one so interesting and addictive, to appear and they very quickly steam rolled their way right through my defences.
There are so many reasons why I love them, their chemistry for one but there are numerous other reasons too. The fact that on paper they probably shouldn't work and yet they seem so right together, the apparent lack of anything in common but in reality there is quite a bit of common interest and ground between them, the way they both try to pretend that there aren't a lot feelings between them whereas in reality they do care a lot about each other, to name a few. And also, they just make me smile. If I'm having a rough day I watch them and instantly feel better, their ridiculous and adorable relationship just brightens the day.
This may be a little too deep for a sitcom but it's the truth. They are a couple who I really have no idea what the future holds, whether they stay as they are, break up or become something more I don't know. I think season 3 may take a step back on their relationship just because they did have quite a bit of time in season 2 (though more is always welcome!) and the fact the new season is shorter. I could be wrong and I hope I am, I would gladly watch an episode of literally just them being their ridiculous and adorable selves.
Whatever happens I love these two so much and while I can't really imagine them being the over the top romantic couple, a little more than friends with benefits would be great but so would staying as they are too

Questions about fanfiction that I need everyone else's opinion on, apparently (part 2)
Head-hopping (also called head-jumping) refers to when the writer jumps between different viewpoints (or POVs) in middle of a scene, i.e. the writer includes thoughts, feelings, and references to lived experiences for more than one character in a scene. The perspective change can occur between paragraphs, sentences, and sometimes even within the same sentence.
It's different from a POV jump in a dual- or multi-POV story in that there's no indication of the jump (i.e. section break or new chapter), and there's sometimes more than one jump — to a third/+ character or back to a previous character's POV.
It's also different from Third Person Omniscient in that there isn't a separate omniscient narrator who sees and knows all (e.g. the narrator in the Good Omens novel). In Third Person Omniscient, the whole story is written from the narrator's perspective, using their 'voice' throughout all the narration, whereas in head-hopping the story is told from the perspective of two/+ characters, using each of their 'voices' during the parts being told from their perspective.
Some readers find head-hopping jarring because it requires them to resituate themselves in the different characters' perspectives each time there's a switch, and may additionally confuse them if references to other characters aren't consistent (e.g. writing "his head office" twice in one sentence and referring to the two different head offices of two different characters).
An example of head-hopping:
Crowley slips his sunglasses back on. He usually takes them off as soon as he enters the bookshop, but their discussion is making him far too uncomfortable and vulnerable to even consider meeting Aziraphale's eyes. Aziraphale hesitates before asking his next question, hopes that he's not pushing the matter too far, hopes that Crowley won't stomp out with some silly excuse instead of considering what he's asking. He rather enjoys spending time with Crowley and doesn't want this to come between them.
(sorry if it's poorly written/OOC, I wrote this on the spot because I didn't want to use any published fics as an example) (if you're not a fan of Good Omens, you have my apology for using it as an example) (if you are a fan, there are no spoilers; it doesn't refer to any actual conversation/event in canon)
If I've written the example in a way that doesn't illustrate the difference well enough, here are a few articles that discuss head-hopping, with more examples: link, link, link.
I personally don't like head-hopping. I'm probably at a 'dislike' but have in the past stopped reading fics if the hopping got too confusing or frustrating.
If you specifically do or don't like head-hopping, I'd love to hear why!
Please reblog for greater reach and more opinions!

Susan Kay's 'Phantom' Read: Part IV (Nadir)
I always knew I'd have mixed feelings about this chunk of the book.
I feel like the issues with the rampant Orientalism and just generally how very wrong Kay is about so much of this have been sufficiently commented on by others, so I'm not going to spend a lot of real estate on that. I'm mainly going to focus on what bugs me personally.
Which is... well, several things
Where do I start?
I guess with "Nadir" himself. I don't know who "Nadir" is, but he's #NotMyDaroga. 'Why's that?' You may ask? Well because, in my opinion, he's only tangentially related to his source material. There's a lot here that checks the boxes: Daroga of Mazanderan, reluctant with many of his duties, simultaneously in awe of and terrified of Erik’s genius all of that's in there. Buuuuut
First of all, Kay took the most practical, likeable character in Leroux's work and made him whiny and annoying. All he does for the first five pages is complain. Within those five pages he also refers to himself as "regrettably squeamish". Nothing happens in the course of this episode to show him growing out of that, so how we get the, pragmatic badass who haunts the Paris opera house keeping Erik in check I have no idea (I also have no idea how this is gonna go later in the book).
Not only that but this in particular stuck out to me:
Some of the illusions were positively supernatural, and long before the show was at an end, I was quietly convinced that I stood in the presence of a genie, created from fire more than two thousand years before Adam. I noted uneasily that he was left handed. Every Moslem knows that the devil is left handed--it is for this reason that we always take care to spit to the left. My fingers felt instinctively for the amulets that hung at my neck, an outstretched hand made in silver and the dried eye of a sheep, killed at Mecca on the great day of sacrifice. Both were powerful protective agencies, and I had never felt more in need of their protection. I took care not to meet his gaze, for I already feared his evil eye.
This stands in sharp contrast to the Persian of Leroux:
If I had been a superstitious man or easily susceptible to weakness, I could not have failed to think that I had to do with a siren of some sort whose task was to trouble the voyager bold enough to travel on the waters of the lakeside house; but, thank God, I come from a country where the fantastic is so cherished that we know it to its depths, and in times past I myself have studied it extensively. Anyone who knows the magicians trade can excite the human imagination with a few simple tricks.
Of course you can make the argument that the Persian speaking here has known Erik for years now and is wise to his tricks, whereas Kay's "Nadir" is seeing them for the first time. But I'm sorry. I don't buy it. Leroux's Daroga, though amazed and awestruck by Erik's skills at illusion, never indicates that he has even been so fooled by them as to actually mistake him for more than what he is: a genius, certainly, but no genie.
Which leads me to wonder if Erik's magic tricks in this book aren't a little too fantastic. Granted Kay never leads us to believe that they really are supernatural, but she uses Erik's degree of genius as a bit of a shield to get away with not revealing the secrets to some truly fantastic tricks, while Leroux nearly always explains Erik's mechanisms (whether they would work to the level of efficacy Leroux describes its up for debate, but he at least does have explanations for them all.
I think it's hilarious and contemptible that Kay has, at numerous times in this book, dropped incredibly clunky and gratuitous clusters of architectural technical terms, just lists of them for no apparent reason except, I can only assume, to show off how much research she did on the subject; and then makes it so patently obvious that her cultural research is dubious, negligible, or entirely non-existent.
She goes to great lengths to paint Nadir as a devout Muslim, which is not something Leroux ever did, now that I think about it. I don't doubt that the Persian is, at least culturally, be he seems quite ambivalent to his religion, as a rule. It quite literally (as far as I can recall) never comes up. But Nadir is. Several times she has him exclaim "Allah" much in the way a Westerner would use "God" as an expletive. Not "Wallah" not even "By Allah" just "Allah".
"Allah, how I hated cats!"
And it's not only the things he says but the things he doesn't say that annoy me (though I'm a layman, and very much open to correction). Common Islamic phrases that could easily be used in any of the situations Nadir finds himself in are completely left by the wayside. There isn't even a single "Inshallah" in his entire narrative.
Another problem I have is that Kay's Daroga is a widower with a sick son. A very complex emotional relationship develops among Erik, Nadir, and Nadir's son, Reza, to whom Erik feels an affinity, as the boy is slowly crippled by a debilitating congenital disease. I have a problem with this because its all very... I call it the Michael Burnham effect. That is to say this is a very important and big emotional thing in The Persian's relationship with Erik and I don't believe that this wouldn't have come up in any of the Persian's narrative if it was actually the case. This is a liberty which Kay, in my opinion, shouldn't have taken. It affects Erik's entire relationship with The Persian in ways that strain my credulity. And it's part of the reason that Erik's character here is fully beginning to stray deeper into a musical-based version than the Leroux-version (which I have a problem with, as this book is ostensibly following Leroux's outline). She even goes to far as to have Erik acknowledge Nadir, with complete (if reluctant) sincerity, as his friend. And this pretty much confirms my suspicions of where "Erik and Daroga are friends" comes from. Whatever Erik and The Persian's odd relationship in the book is, I can't call it friendship with how frequently The Persian calls him "the monster".
Note don't get me wrong Erik and Daroga do definitely have a bizarre bond that is, I think, a kind of friendship. Daroga feels sympathy for Erik, and also responsibility for him. He is, in many, ways, more like an older brother than a friend. I could say so much on this subject but that's for another post.
But what I find really baffling and annoying about Erik and Nadir's "friendship" in this book is the drugs.
I can't express how repugnant I find this. I think it's an insult to both Erik and the Persian, the fact that Nadir HIMSELF GETS ERIK HOOKED ON OPIUM. WHY. And then she has the fucking nerve to lampshade with all the "Oh yes Opium's a terrible horrible deadly habit" Only to have Nadir turn right around and give Erik his fix. What the actual fuck.
But setting aside that Susan Kay actually said "I'm not just going to make Nadir annoying, I'm also going to make him an enabler!" Is the fact that... I just don't buy Erik doing drugs.
I know Erik is an artist, and artists throughout the ages have been associated with decadent habits like drugs and alcohol to soothe their tortured souls or broaden their minds to ever more fantastic plains blah blah blah.
But Erik is not an every day kind of character. Erik is notable in how uniquely he glories in his tribulations. Erik's music in particular is a manifestation of his pure emotions both good and bad, and I think for him to alter his moods with substances, to him, would sully the purity of his art, which he always characterizes as a spiritual, almost holy thing.
And here's another thing. Part of the reason Erik is doing opium in this book is, yes the horrors of his past, but also the terrible things he's doing in the present... which I do think Erik of Leroux did grow sick of what was demanded of him in Persia (he explicitly says he wanted to put it all behind him), but I don't think he probably felt... that bad about it? I dunno maybe that's just me.
Moving on.
I'll pause here to say that while I think Kay is a bit guilty of "de-fanging" Erik in this book, I genuinely do appreciate her emphasis on his affinity for the weak and broken, and his knack with animals.
So now I come to one of the things that made me look most askance at this section. Again, the conceit of this book (or at least what I was given to understand the conceit was) is that its filling in the blanks that Leroux left vague. And I don't really know if that was Susan Kay's intention, but it's certainly how the Phandom took it. Which is why it bugs me when there are things in here that either don't quite jive with canon or straight up contradict it.
Now in terms of the canon of Leroux's actual book, we're not sure exactly which Shah employed Erik. Leonard Wolf point out that Leroux mentions Erik "[fighting] the Emir" and posits that he is referring to the Afghani-Persian war of 1837. This would put Erik’s age in PotO at about 60, assuming he was very young at the time (in his teens). That would make Erik's patron Mohammad Shah Qajar.
However M. Grant Kellermeyer (and most others writing about this period in Erik’s life, including Susan Kay) favour the idea that Erik’s patron was Mohammed's son, Nasser al din Shah Qajar.
When Erik and the Persian talk about the "Rosy Hours of Mazanderan" they both make mention of the "Little Sultana", who is described by Leroux's narrator in the epilogue as "the Shah-in-Shah's favourite", whose boredom was the Shah's impetus for sending the Persian to find Erik in the first place, and whose delight in bloodthirsty spectacles of torture and execution allowed Erik's talents in those areas to develop into a finely honed art.
Now I would take "the Little Sultana" to mean one of the Shah's wives, concubines, daughters, or even a sister.
But Kay, for some inexplicable reason, chooses to interpret this capricious (and bloodthirsty) female figure--the Shah's favourite--as his... mother.
Now Nasser al din Shah's mother was Malek Jahan Khanom, who, true to Kay's portrayal was Regent of Persia for one month (September 5th - October 5th) in 1848. Also like Kay's "Khanum", Malek was a formidable and politically savvy woman, and definitely not an individual you would want to cross.
Tumblr media
I can't dispute the idea of the Khanom being an incredibly powerful figure, and the type you would need and want to keep appeased (she is described by Kay as keeping her son firmly under her thumb), but I have to look at the fact that Kay read "The Little Sultana, the Shah's Favourite" and really said, "Right. That'll be his mom" and squint a little bit.
On top of this, the Khanum is characterized as having a sexual obsession with Erik, very similar to the way Duchess Josiana is aroused by Gwynplaine's facial deformity in Victor Hugo's The Man Who Laughs, and is first irritated, then enraged by Erik's constant indifference. This fact is not lost on the Shah.
I just don't know ya'll. It's...I just... I don't know about this.
M. Grant Kellermeyer speculates that the "Little Sultana" Leroux refers to, to be the seventh wife of Nasser al din Shah, Jeyran, whom he first took as a mistress in around 1850 following a chance encounter during which he apparently fell in love with her on sight. One story of their meeting even asserts that she was one of his mother's servants.
Tumblr media
If that is the case it would be one reason why Malek and Jeyran stood locked for years in stark political opposition to each other.
Jeyran was herself formidable and enjoyed many masculine pursuits including hunting and shooting, and not even the Khanom was able to dissuade Nasser from conferring her the title of Forough ol-Saltaneh, or from naming her son the crown prince (though this decision was stuck in political hell for years because of Jeyran's lack of influential blood-lines).
She was his favourite wife until her early death in 1860 at the age of 29.
It's my opinion that Leroux's "Little Sultana" is a composite of Jeyran and her successor as the Shah's favourite, Anis al-Dalweh, who was even more formidable and politically savvy than Jeyran. She was the only one of the Shah's wives known to share his meals and the only one he suffered to publicly criticize him, and she took over Malek's duties as the head of the harem upon her death in 1873.

what’s your opinion on the hate towards faith kelly with people saying she has plastic surgery and that?? also people saying ethan should leave her
Heya mate, my opinion is that men in particular see Faith Kelly with hatred because of their lack of understanding, and moreover, a lot of them already hate Faith, and just choose to pick on her because they want to see her get grilled even more.
Towards the beginning of the introduction of Faith into the Sidemen fandom, everyone thought she was class. She made cute TikToks with him, she was (still is) gorgeous, she was the embodiment of a good girlfriend because she was new and nobody had any reason to dislike her.
As more of her personality grew and people began following her and what she did and said, I think lots of women began empathising with her, whereas lots of men began disliking her more and more.
Her first big controversy was the "Why the fuck did the pornstar sit on Ethan when Faith, his GIRLFRIEND was literally carrying his baby."
That was a BIG drama which I think reaaally divided the whole of the male and female demographic of the Sidemen fandom. Most women ((including myself)and some logical men) could empathise with Faith, because WHY did Ethan let that situation get that far? Having a girlfriend and letting a woman sit on you is bad behaviour on it's own, but the to extent of having a PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND, carrying YOUR BABY, allowing that to happen is absolutely stupid. Especially when Ethan had NUMEROUS opportunities to get up or say no to Mia Malkova sitting on his crotch, nonetheless.
And alternately, many (immature) men thought that Faith was overreacting, because look! Ethan's a YouTuber! He's an e n t e r t a i n e r... he gets a pass for these things because he just did it for a YouTube video, it's fine! To which I say... Shutthefuckupthat'ssomebullshit. It wasn't really a highlight of the video. It wasn't the funniest thing- it wasn't even really good content. The only "good" content that came out of it was Faith's TikTok's or Ethan having to explain himself on Sidecast's, and the only reason people enjoyed that was because they were allowed an opinion on the conflict and could watch the beef play out whilst also adding fuel to the fire with all their snide comments and keyboard warrior-ing.
It was really stupid in my opinion, that whole Mia Malkova, Sidemen Tinder conflict, because it shouldn't have happened; Ethan should've known better.
But that's the start of the Faith Kelly hate train. A few other things that have contributed to it are:
The fact she doesn't want to take Ethan's last name and rid her own. Ethan wants her to take his last name, "Payne". She wants to keep some of her family name and made a compromise, agreeing to go for "Payne-Kelly". I feel like Ethan's patriarchal values really spoke to me when he threw a little tantrum at the idea of that.
"permission slips": the name given to the action of Ethan checking with Faith whether he's good to go out. People called it "micromanaging" and "controlling" from Faith, but that's literally basic communication? Tell your partner you aren't available and check that you haven't got plans with them or signed up to something else beforehand...?
The podcast. Because apparently if you aren't interested in what they're doing and saying, you can't just scroll by without hate-commenting.
The fact that she has an Essex accent. People hate it and say "God I could never date a girl that sounds like that"... Then don't?
Her nose. Because she has a nose which literally fits the beauty standard, but some people still found ways to get angry.
And now there's the whole problem with the fact she got surgery.
I personally don't think there's a problem with getting surgery in the first place. If you're insecure about something and that's holding you back, change it; we have surgery available to all for a reason and if it's safe to do so, I see no problem with it.
Faith got bits n bobs of surgery done when she was younger, and she cleared up on an Instagram story, and which is also evident on an old clip of her on some TV dating show.
She had cheek fillers, chin fillers, jaw fillers and lip fillers (which I'm certain of, I don't know of any others if i'm honest). And that was because she didn't like her face shape and thought that to be more pretty, she ought to get those done.
Since then, she's used 5ml dissolver (im not too sure what exactly she said she got done but there was the number 5 somewhere, and she said that all filler had now DEFFO been dissolved) and gotten all filler removed from her face, leaving her with a softer, more heart shaped face and what is in my opinion, an overall prettier face. Beauty of course is in the eye of the beholder.
Now whilst I can empathise with Faith for being insecure when she was younger and thus getting surgery which she in later life dissolved as she realised she was happy with her face, I know that the male "Faith-Hating" population cannot.
This is likely because of the belief that plastic surgery = fake, fake, fake = bad, bad, bad. This is quite a common view which I believe that men and older generations uphold; surgery is for those who focus only on aesthetics and makes you fake which means you aren't naturally pretty aka makes a woman worth less. A very crude explanation of the patriarchal view on plastic surgery.
I think this view is quite shallow and superficial in itself because it lacks engagement with a what? argument, because whilst males can identify that women (may) get surgery out of insecurity, they cannot engage WHAT the problem with that is.
What is the big problem regarding a women deciding to change her face slightly? What does it matter to you if someone makes their lips slightly puffier? What effects does it have on your life whereby you feel the need to then go onto Faith's page and tell Ethan that HE NEEDS TO LEAVE HER!!!!
Hence moving onto the "Ethan should leave her" opinion, I think it's absolutely shocking.
Lacks grace, etiquette and fundamental respect to HARASS someone who you look up to- someone who you (perhaps) IDOLISE just to command them that they must leave their girlfriend.
And I've seen these comments time after time.
Why do they tell Ethan that he must leave Faith?
Because of the permission slips. God forbid having a girlfriend that controlling, that she'd want to know when her boyfriend wouldn't be home so that she can plan out her day accordingly.
Because she argues with Ethan on the podcast. Quite ironic that their little bickers over the little things have people thinking that they are always arguing and completely toxic. Wait til those fans hear about banter between friends.
Because she's "the type" to cheat. This one was mind-bogglingly stupid: people were telling Ethan that Faith is the type to cheat, whilst she claimed to have a little celeb crush on Haaland. For those who don't know, this is Haaland:
Tumblr media
He obviously isn't an absolute stone cold stunner, but he's quite sweet. A little celeb crush on him is v reasonable. But for some reason, these thickos just cannot understand that having a celeb crush DOES NOT MEAN SHE'S GONNA CHEAT!!!!!
The whole REASON for a celeb crush is the sort of idolisation that someone is so cute and dreamy and that it's find to have that crush because it's not like you'll ever meet them or have a chance with them... i mean, that's literally the definition of having Hall Passes in relationships!
I bet the situation would be 10x bloody worse and somehow still anti!Faith, if Ethan said that he had a celeb crush on... idk SELENA GOMEZ or someone famous n gorg like that, and Faith said "what so you'd cheat on me for her?", voicing Ethan's fans in her Haaland-situation.
And I think a lot of these scenarios follow that logic.
Flip the roles around- assume Faith said/did the things that Ethan does to her, but instead did those to Ethan...
The Sidemen incellular-fanboys would go off their rockers. How dare she! She's such a cheater! He should leave her!
In summary, I think the spawn of the hate towards Faith Kelly is born out of patriarchal, hypocritical double standards from a male demographic of teenaged Sidemen-fans who cannot yet develop empathy and understanding to anything Faith does, and due to their own self-important ignorance, refuse to even try empathise with Faith and thus instead of choosing to educate themselves and understand- they take the easy route and decide to send her sexist and unjust hate instead.
Sorry for the waffle and hope that makes just enough sense for atl one person to read this and think "you know what, that isn't half untrue"
[not proofchecked, ignore spelling errors]
