The Love-Hate Relationship with Stelliums (Pt. 1) ✨

Guysss pls remember that astrology is holistic and this should be read taking into account your overall chart placements, as well as the planets in your stellium and what sign rules your stellium. TAKE NOTE lol

1st house

❤️: You may be a person who is very driven towards a particular goal, single-minded in behavior and with a sense of determination that is hard to beat. The focus is on self-improvement and is rather internally driven - there can be large amounts of time focused on figuring one’s identity out. You’re not afraid to say things as they are - you’re able to dish out criticism hard but you give credit when its due. You extend the courtesy you receive to others. You may have an innate sense of wisdom that you keep deep within that you don’t let slip unless to extremely close ones but in times of hardship you are a good source of motivation. You always seek to improve yourself and it’s hard (if not impossible) to drag you down because of your strong personality and how you tend to always move on no matter what. I think 1st house stelliums are the embodiment of “don’t look back” and y’all always try to make the best out of every best situation, sort of like seeing the silver lining in everything. And also when crises emerge you’re able to keep a calm head on your shoulders and are good at making snap decisions, which makes you good on your feet!

👹: I don’t think y’all are as self-absorbed as ppl make you out to be but there’s definitely an element of self-centredness such that when you do something, you often consider what is most convenient or productive for you. You might get upset when your plans are disrupted but sometimes do the same to others even though you might be aware of what you’re doing - in that aspect, 1st house stelliums can be hypocritical. For you, there is never enough - you’re never satisfied with anything, be it yourself or for other things so you can seem really unappreciative. Keep in mind that you also tend to force others to agree with you and don’t be so quick to dismiss the other party’s POV no matter how dumb it seems. Remember that there’s always something to learn from other people, no matter their status. You need to work on expressing your appreciation to others in a more genuine manner (altho I know y’all do it in gruff, slightly awkward ways when sincere - kinda cute ngl).

2nd house

❤️: You may be a person who has a strong moral code and has a staunch value system that you won’t deviate from no matter what. Sense of loyalty is usually unbreakable and it can take a lot to truly anger you. You can have a good financial sense and good instincts/foresight that allow you to plan ahead for stability’s sake. More often than not in certain areas you are a master of categorising and structuring things which means that your mind is analytical, critical and (usually) organised. You hate it when people think they know you because you (understandably) know yourself the best - there are many privatised layers of yourself that you prefer to keep... private so yeah it just annoys you when that happens. Y’all are a leader in certain aspects of your life and even though 2nd house stelliums tend to prefer being the right-hand man, your control freak tendencies come out and you end up leading anyway. You become really productive because of the fear of failure - you have crazy high expectations for yourself and expect the same of your closed ones (although ultimately you’ll support them in whatever they do). There is an appreciation for the finer things in life and when it comes to your loved ones you’re not afraid to spoil them hard.

👹: Be careful not to let this driving need for stability restrict you from spontaneity and following your heart’s desire. There is an inherent inflexibility in your nature; stubbornness can really be your kryptonite. You don’t really take any opportunities that you think might threaten your security which, while giving you a stable fort, can hold you back in your own happiness + prosperity. You might realise that there is a limit to your perspective but really struggle in seeing outside of that perspective mainly because you spend so much time thinking about what matters to you that you’ve become accustomed to your train of thought (altho when you do break it it’s lowkey groundbreaking). The focus on this house is on stability, not only on material wealth, so while you may be reaping in one aspect you might tend to lack on the spiritual or emotional elements of life. You can be very, very controlling and demanding so you might want to tone it down a little if not people might get the wrong impression. People might think of you as judgemental (and you are tbh) but I believe it’s just 2nd house stellium’s way of assessing a person’s character/abilities.

3rd house

❤️: You may be a person who puts in a lot of effort into various forms of self-expression (not limited to verbal communication but also finding a specific niche such as music, art, writing etc.) Your brain is naturally sharp and inquisitive and you may be able to pick things up very quickly. You might be rather adaptable but are surprisingly stubborn when it comes to your opinion or intellectual capabilities. You might have a dark/dirty sense of humor and because of that you also have a keen ability to see past the societal nuances of propriety and get to the heart/root of whatever a person is saying. You can spend your entire life trying to understand people and why things work the way they work - your brain needs to be stimulated in order for you to feel alive. Passion for you has to be applied in a productive manner - you probably aren’t a person to just take a passion for something as a mere hobby. Rather, you would either apply that passion to one of your existing projects, create a new one or use it as a motivating factor. Your interests are wide and varied, which makes you really well-rounded in certain aspects!

👹: Many people say y’all are flighty beings and I can certainly see why they would think so. Because of your perceptiveness, you tend to change your narrative whenever you’re speaking to different people, so as to make yourself sound more convincing. In that aspect, you can be quite manipulative. Your ego probably isn’t the smallest either haha - you can tolerate being slighted at some things but if it’s a challenge to one of your passion projects you’ll probably become very upset. You need to stop giving people the hot and cold shoulder all the time and even though you’re quite sociable you tend to flaunt but hide your true thoughts. You have to be more open and honest in your self-expression, and not that idealised, constructed version of yourself you think people will find interesting. I’ve noticed that 3rd house stellium ppl have an obsessive need to “stand out” and make themselves feel unique which, despite all your charms and popularity, might be the reason why you find yourself sometimes so isolated. You’re a perfectionist (although you would deny it) and secretly quite controlling but unlike other stelliums you can manage it better I feel.

4th house

❤️: There is a pressing insistence regarding relationships in your inner circle - be it your family, closest friends, or your future family. Extended focus on your cultural heritage can also be possible. Deep down, compassion is at your core and you are very protective of your friends in a silent but aggressive way. Having a stable family life is very important to you but I’ve noticed that more often than not, 4th house stelliums have turbulent family relationships. The beauty of 4th house stelliums is their ability to break through whatever toxic relationships they’ve been in and to create families of their own - be it unconventional or not. They are the epitome of “we choose our own families”. Y’all can be very empathetic and rather selfless to the point where you allow yourself to be manipulated (even though you’re aware of it) - but it’s usually for a justifiable reason. You find it easier than most to balance the emotional landscape but there are moments where you need an outlet to express yourself. There can be an obsession/possessiveness over your own culture - you take pride in your roots and become lowkey insulted when people disrespect it (and if you don’t, you somehow nearly always manage to find some other culture to assimilate yourself in).

👹: Y’all probably get very upset when things don’t go your way but the problem with this stellium is that there is a want to speak out but you choose to bury everything inside instead - giving you a very passive-aggressive and even aloof image. Internally, you guys might think that you are giving off a very soft/giving aura but some people are wary precisely because you are hard to read. You are very, intensely private (rivalling 2nd/7th house tbh) and you have to learn how to share your true thoughts, no bullshit, no suger-coated thoughts with your family and dearest friends even though you are capable of handling yourself. You are independent, ambitious, and people often underestimate you, but you have to let people in first in order for them to know what you’re capable of! Also, idealisation of certain things (eg. a future family life/partner) can be prevalent and you overthink things to the point where sometimes you make yourself miserable. Again, please talk to someone hahaha you don’t have to deal with everything yourself.

5th house

❤️: Insecurity runs rampant in any 5th house stellium BUT y’all are quite paradoxical in a sense that you also have a very strong aura of confidence. Sometimes, in crucial moments, you manage to convince yourself and others that you are the most important person in the room haha - literally the epitome of “fake it till you make it”. Still, a deeply rooted kindness is found in 5th house stelliums such that you’re always looking out for the underdog in the room. If you are developed you probably have a strong sense of righteousness which prompts you to look out for people who might be struggling. Y’all are very concerned about your physical appearance and most of the time you like to keep your body in good shape, which draws the attention of people in the room. You likely have an infectious smile (this is just a hunch but I don’t believe 5th house stelliums smile a lot - y’all quirk your lips or smirk but a true smile is rare so when you do... it melts the hearts of people). Everything that you do will have a youthful flavor and you have a healthy appreciation for downtime/self-care so while you might not (contrary to popular belief) be that fond of kids, kids are attracted to you. Oh and actually I think the stronger this stellium is in a person, the shyer the person seems at first impression but inwardly and as time goes by, they become more humorous and dramatic.

👹: You aren’t exactly manipulative, but you know how to use the power of suggestion (and your charms) to get what you want. If unchecked, it’ll become a habit because to you, it’s an instinctive thing to do and you might not realise you’re hurting other people because of it. You are stubborn and prideful (which isn’t a bad thing sometimes but) you take criticism quite badly such that if a person tries to offer their opinion or goes against your beliefs, you might take it as a personal attack. You have a fear of being restrained/constricted (like 9th house) so you’re actually quite aggressive to those who you perceive to be a threat to your authority. You can also experience extreme mood swings (from crazy happy/hyper to melancholic in a snap) and when you do you expect people to give you attention. But you are hypocritical in this aspect because you yourself can be quite insensitive to other people’s feelings, or you brush them off if you’re not “in the mood”.

6th house

❤️: You are most probably quite an organised person, not in a tidy way (although you could be) but in matters of life there’s an insistence on order and structure. The way you think can be very logical - you are able to think concisely and connect the dots in a quick manner and logic is probably prevalent in everything you do. However, in contrast to this pragmatic behavior, you are deeply caring and you won’t think twice to give up something if a loved one needs it. You are very disciplined in certain aspects of life and you are able to maintain a consistent effort in everything that you do. You’re probably someone who finds joy in small things and although you have high standards, it doesn’t take much to make you happy, as long as it’s genuine. You can be a perfectionist and really quite meticulous in your work which makes you someone who is detail-orientated. You give a lot of yourself to other people and most of the time you don’t expect anything in return, which is one of the great things about 6th house stelliums. You take effort into maintaining your physical health and you mighttt be a fitness freak or someone who keeps track of their diet really carefully. It’s likely that you encourage other people to follow your lifestyle and generally, you exert a sort of mellow influence around other people that makes them want to be better.

👹: There’s a tendency for 6th house stelliums to fall into pessimism, precisely because of your pragmatic nature. Y’all may say that you’re being “realistic” but in actuality it does dampen the spirits of some people. You can also become really unreasonable and inflexible once you’ve made up your mind on something and that makes you a bit narrow minded because you simply refuse to listen to other people’s POV. This can also cause tunnel vision which can really limit your full potential and I think it’s something worth spending your time working on. When pushed into a corner or feeling insecure, y’all might try to cover it up by being condescending or giving the cold shoulder. There’s also a risk of being overly reliant on a schedule/structure and hence, cautiousness when it comes to being spontaneous or embracing something foreign. Because of your affinity towards maintaining health, your hypochondriac tendencies may be exacerbated and you need to try to lessen your over-worrying behaviour haha. Although you never dish out something you can’t receive (eg. high expectations - you’re truly your worst critic), your demanding tone can really make others cautious of you.

OVERALL, I strongly believe that the way to embrace your stelliums isn’t to reject or force yourself to change the values they represent, but rather taking those eccentricities and moulding it into something more precious and beneficial to yourself. It has to be done with a thorough understanding of yourself; with patience.

Thank You.......yeah idk really what hc's i've like "officially" described here that often lol, but then also there's that whole complication where i don't really ever come up with ideas & when asked anything i'm probably going [???] like, classics like "what do you like out of [broad parameter]" & it's like damn....i dunno. what ideas do i have about winsotn who i've thought about every day for > 2 yrs??? that's tough.....& Then the further chaos of like, when i do have hc's or w/e it's less discrete, concrete invented ideas & more towards the end of the spectrum that's like "well i kinda interpret this part of canon vaguely this way" &/or "i have This vague notion that i haven't solidified into a pretend fact or that i'm not at all committed to or take that seriously" where it's like, not only is this not really nailed down but it's basically free floating / i might have other ideas that would contradict each other lol. seems like a more concise list of Stats that are fully/exclusively my ideas is more exciting, but instead i can offer vague "i dunno / what ifs" based on vibes that i verbosely describe lmao, plus i'll forget a bunch of ideas i may have had i'm sure but you know. what else have i ever offered; never really trying to sell this material to otherwise uninterested parties or only make posts that guaranteed more than one person might enjoy, why would i be starting now; and ig if i write a bunch of stuff here & go "oh & i forgot like a half dozen obvious things" i can add on to it if it's a big deal.....plus it's always tricky with billions in particular being vague abt its own characters lmao, we only see [outside of work] personal stuff if it's going to become directly tied to [definitely at work] professional plotlines, or Maybe glimpse some character contextualizing things for the more central characters....side characters have more blanks to fill but also that means. just more that's blank lol & kinda a mystery of Up To Interpretation.....i figured one way to have any structure for this at all is to have a part looking at each winston involving episode's info. well anyways, after this meandering intro that kind of illustrates how i'm sure the rest of things will go here lol, i'm just gonna throw a bunch of stuff down in general. thanks again for the prompt to do so, b/c why not

really the one concrete discrete idea i have which isn't in the canon text is, of course: he is autistic

does he Know? idk. either way, think he's pretty aware of how he operates (& how he Can't operate), but if he doesn't know that's probably more for the "also: he's self loathing, which was basically textually implied" stuff lol. just mentioned it but i do always enjoy the tayston idea that taylor's talking abt in the past having it floated by a therapist/s or whomever that they could be autistic, them considering it but it not applying; winston going "hmm" & doing his own considering & researching & then maybe exclusively sharing the news w/taylor....but of course, maybe he's figured it out himself at some point before. i do think he'd figure it out himself though rather than anyone else directly suggesting it (maybe out here being diagnosed with "just the guy who sucks who we don't like / won't act right or normal" sort of usual experience) & i think, if he knows, he's not about to want ppl at work to know, b/c not as though anyone (but taylor & other quants) particularly seems to be impressed by his quanting proficiency, but he sure gets some validation/affirmation through that route (more re: that of course) and knows that ppl going "oh he's autistic so of course he's better at Doing Math / computer stuff as a like, mechanical efficiency sort of thing" or whatever. and the fact that taylor can interact with him / gives him some leeway to generally do his thing means he's kind of already got space to operate how he operates, see the start of this section....and idk. transitioning into the next section ig

just an Interpretation Of Canon thing here but, re: how these characters generally operate & what their reason is for being around doing stuff in the first place, i guess it's that winston does genuinely like to do & is interested in the math/coding stuff involved here, was also genuinely interested in working for taylor specifically (whatever The Hype specifically was), then you have taylor having the "despite your demeanor, your skills are superior" stance & appreciating what he can do & letting him do it by hiring him for real & all, & here we are, Q is for Quantitative, baby......he must find it rewarding enough to be getting to do this quanting stuff and also, the potential for validation when anyone recognizes he's good at it & by extension finds something about him good & wants him around to any degree

okay just that Episode By Episode stuff for a section here

3x03:

kinda extra room for interpretation b/c this was written as a one off character and reintroducing him in 3x09, written to be recurring, feels like it kinda offers a Soft Reboot for what we got here, where i guess how i take things is that we can suppose in both 3x03 & 3x09 winston's putting on a deliberate Performance to some degree based on what he thinks the potential employer wants to see, but it's also not completely fake / inaccurate either time, & like, maybe the 3x03 vibe wasn't a type of performance he'd only just ever put on for this axe cap interview, & even if it was deliberately bold maybe he was sort of thinking he Could bank on his value as a quant meaning he holds most of the cards (or can get away with acting like it)

building on that & as a More General point of interpretation again: think it's easy to suppose winston could've had an existence w/many elements of frustrations & disappointments & Rejection, but where like, he did figure out these areas of interest & proficiency that seemed to be a more positive force in his life, & leaned into them / focused on them further for it, & i could see him focusing on milestones / graduating from one thing to the next & conceptualizing like, well, if i just get to This point by working on This thing then i'll have it together & be able to move through existence more successfully, like, there's winston going into undergrad & kind of disappointed he's not having that good a time socially / feels like he's missing out / being left out still, but he can be like, well that's fine (: i'm totally fine abt it b/c i'm focusing on the Education & Experience here & when i'm entering the job market as an amazing quant anyone would want to hire then ppl will be seeing me in a positive light & things will fall into place / go great for me / i'll feel like i fit in & am doing things right within some structure. & i think maybe he Did have all those other job offers / opportunities & he was at least partly feeling a bit "objectively" confident, & also maybe just hoping he Could be that confident & that, you know, if he goes ahead & acts like that's the case, it could be confirmed / become true....anyways then obviously disillusionment time

since his outfits are introduced here: more "just how i'm interpreting canon" stuff in that i do just suppose he is mostly focusing on comfort & it'd kinda get in the way of things if he couldn't. flipflops might've been a statement piece but also i figure at least in part about the comfort / lack of much opportunity for restriction or ill fit or chafing texture or anything, same goes re: pants & shirts. interesting he likes to wear the patterned layers but doesn't really wear like, stripes or plaid ever. plus it could well be that Just A Tee is too informal unless you're the formalest of all by virtue of position, i.e. the ceo, but also we sure often enough see him wearing hoodies &/or multiple layers, like, maybe that's just for warmth or weight or what have you, always considering "what if it's about being self conchy as well (different way of saying self conscious)"

3x09:

so yeah with winston not having taken another job (at least maybe only like, temporary ones as these self contained gigs / just something to pay the bills) figure it's been a Depressive Period for him here lol & deliberately going on a journey of like self reflection / examination & going "haha yeah hated what i saw" is like, i don't think the self loathing is anything new, the confidence in 3x03 kind of an optimistic bandaid lol like well here's the new me as i understand / hypothesize / hope he could be, totally confident in being backed up by how valuable he is as a quant, then taylor kind of ripped that off and wound's open again but that wound was also not brand new or something he was unaware of / that didn't affect him before now

re: math meetup, i can see that being him presenting more evidence of his talent as a quant but also specifically going "see, i do this collaborative thing" to present this more conciliatory and cooperative approach to taylor, & am also taking it as evidence that he really does Enjoy math / coding stuff beyond it simply being a means to a professional end. i also like to think he has been / continues going to math meetup regularly, at least once a month, maybe every other week, and that it's this semi social event, like the relevant irl group you found back in the day that like, meets up for pizza before and drinks afterwards. i also like to think that, like, while he might come off as A Bit Much during said math meetup / just speak up frequently enough and often enough with some insistence lol, people Are there to meet up about the math and his contributions Are valued despite if his delivery/approach isn't always endearing or whatever. and even if he's not really popular / warmly embraced in the more [socializing event] bookends of the meetup, he's perfectly tolerated, and there's even a person or two or three (also regular attendees) who do vibe with him enough to like, invite / even want him to sit with them / talk with them outside that Math Setting. math meetup pals, maybe he doesn't meet up with these people outside these events but maybe they have each other's contacts and sometimes text. not these intimate personal relationships, but still something real and positive and refreshing. it'd be nice if math meetup could kinda be like what he hoped for from quanting, this way his math lets him "qualify" to access this group / activity, his aptitude "making up for" perceived lack of interpersonal / social charm & charisma & what have you, & having some reliably friendly people around even if of course that's not on its own going to mean he's totally socially fulfilled / not often lonely or anything. hc: he's often lonely & not totally socially fulfilled

he does, of course, want to work for taylor specifically, as long as they want him to, and this is sort of his second chance to find validation through working as a quant lol. think that yeah sure winston likes validation in general, who doesn't but also of course he's maybe a bit Above Average sensitive to / keen on it, but he'll also care about Affirmation if it's coming from people whose opinion he particularly values. think that it's easy to suppose he's also especially sensitive to taylor's assessments here thanks to the fact they really hit a (raw) nerve with him like, sure is the potential to get caught up in feedback loop city & say, have a few months mired in self loathing & an especial lack of certainty & confidence, if someone's kinda gone "i hate your self hatred" lol, but he also Did have this especial interest in / high opinion of taylor before that 3x03 interview, & so that's what continues to be part of it here

but then also interpreting that second 3x09 scene as like, he Does independently Know His Value as a quant and yknow not only has his pride but also can't and isn't going to first and foremost focus on trying to socially perform being peak Accommodating and Appealing here lol. but he still cares about what taylor thinks, wants to work for/with them, and i think it was Mutually Appreciated in the last scene that there was Mutual Effort to cooperate w/the other, giving him a Cue instead of just being mad & obfuscating it unless & until giving up on him completely or w/e is Constructive. interpreting winston as someone who sure can be a bit petty on purpose, especially in the face of some wounded pride (where he seems to take pride in his quant abilities & maybe not much of anything else: see the self loathing otherwise), but isn't really one to be deliberately antagonistic, especially not towards, yknow, the person he specifically wants to appeal to, but he also knows he can come off as grating whether inadvertently or not, so he might be testing the waters a little as well

3x11

he's using headphones even though no one else is in the room, that's a preference / he may also just like to block out other sound in general, as there's no audio of [winston's music faintly playing as / before he takes off his headphones] or indication he paused anything. does he like metal, what with the yngwie malmsteen reference? maybe, but that might just be a Billions Reference thing that isn't meant to indicate much / anything abt the specific character. i don't have any hcs about it anyways besides "okay" if so

first time we see his watch, it's not the calculator watch until s5 but i am a fan of said calc watch....gotta suppose it could represent him being here for the math of it all, what with how fancy/expensive watches are kinda the whole like status / power play thing, and a calculator watch is, afaik, not expensive, these casio calculator watch listings i'm seeing are all priced like, $15 to $25 range. so.

2nd scene is the first time we see sleeves pushed up, a frequent choice, maybe if he's focusing sleeves against forearms / Wrists & Hands can be bothersome. also not the first time he puts his hands in his pockets but i think that's a deliberate choice for winston's sort of Default Pose, equate it to the choice to have jared hang / hold on to his backpack straps.

guess he can also be a bit petty / rude / grating on purpose if ppl are getting in the way of his mathing / coding or otherwise thwarting it, at least probably taylor can relate / sympathize what with them wanting to Get It Right / being bothered if people get it wrong but could've avoided this

noticing all the caffeine and the fact he maybe didn't leave the basement / was powering through that project All At Once....just noting that down as a potential Approach, wanting to not interrupt focus &/or bear down & keep a fairly intense pace until it's finished / stay in the zone or what have you

definitely doing some deliberately cocky Testing / pushing back / amicable power struggle with taylor there, confirming he does have leverage due to that quanting ability after all, Despite His Demeanor / not being "sweet"

by this point definitely consciously kinda wants taylor to rail him.

4x03

i have no concrete hc's of instances inspiring winston to think he's "always seeing the future" but god i wish he did. he's right a lot though, maybe he just notices as much lol

talking mostly to taylor here, then concluding with "i only thought it but didn't say it; doesn't count....damnit." like he wants Their validation thanks, even if recognizing his Win here still wouldn't help them either way....also first time we see him w/coworkers for real, he's really freely Interacting.....time to go ahead and say he'd like to be work friends / at least have friendly interactions at work, might be a bit desperate for such positive social interactions, especially in this environment where he thinks the "objectively" good thing about him is most relevant, but it's cringe & fail (&/or vulnerable to Attack) to outright Want something, like validation / affirmation / a positive response or a simple "yeah you're right" "positive" response

first Space Shirt, followed by ones that are like, also &/Or Sci Fi Shirts. does he like space? i guess so

here & in 4x11, we don't know how he's gotten this info about taylor re: the arc w/their dad or with axe cap, but he's apparently mused on it on his own like this & isn't just quoting what someone else told him about how taylor must feel about xyz & how that might apply to the situations at hand, even though (unless he cassandra'd it) he wouldn't've had that much cause to suppose it'd definitely be relevant to have ideas about how taylor feels / is navigating a situation & why, maybe he just likes to be prepared like that / stay in the loop but yknow, maybe he's just also interested in them as a person beyond what's most immediately relevant to him doing quant stuff for them

he's already done the sort of kicking himself / wincing / apologizing or agreeing he fucked up an exchange thing before but, the genuine disappointment / momentary discouragement in it always lol....self loathing guy

love how he has these little like, clarifying explanations of things. "total control of the instrument," "always seeing the future," "because i win".....he's out here wanting to communicate to connect & to be understood, not so much as a potential for a power play / status climb and thus a conflict.....can see ppl who are used to / Do see interactions in that light to interpret winston yelling about having won as a like, rubbing it in people's faces show of superiority thing, but pretty sure he's just excited and wants a high five

having talked about the fact none of the desks in the tmc hq main floor seem to be winston's (& knowing that Could just be wroland not being reliably available to be in the bg of shots lol, analyzing s4 shots for some Consistently Empty desk) but it is fun to also consider that maybe tmc Could've had a secret extension in that that quant haunt in the basement was kept. a little more furnishing and it could be pretty chill, even though the lack of windows might not always be ideal. where's he sit!

also the whole "guy who'd be the first one smothered" moment like, guess i could've mentioned it in 3x03 more but yeah my Headcanon here is that winston maybe has a master's degree, not a phd though (him saying "50 phds" in 3x11 i think was meant to differentiate from him on both points, aka he's 1 guy, without a phd) & this is his first "real" job in any field. b/c i'm guessing like, people are here to get Paid, but as mentioned w/the watch (& just how winston acts in general, he doesn't really seem like he's raring to show off / really take advantage of having money or anything) it doesn't seem like he's, like, the "exceptionally focusing on personally making as much as possible" guy, and lauren's remark seems to emphasize / place the context on winston just not having like, savings from prior salaried years at a job or anything, more of a practical matter, maybe he's out here hoping for some more financial security, also they are all living in nyc, so. on that note, maybe he has an okay apartment but like, not without problems / not absolutely ideal, but it's okay. this would just be Convenient as an hc also lol

don't think the monologue was completely memorized, but it wasn't completely off the cuff either, he'd maybe been brainstorming scripts in his head / had some particular parts solidified word for word, but also hardly think he was guaranteed planning to deliver an admonishlogue at all, seems like it was some important factors that he was just kind of already irritated, nobody was listening / people Were social pressuring him to drop it or not interested in entertaining like "yeah i think you should talk to taylor about it" at all, think it was clear that talking to others was only going to lead to them telling him to drop it / trying to not have anyone say anything to taylor, and then that taylor just jumped in, which i hardly think he was hoping for

always Something that we can expressly see winston moving to sit down in that soon to be empty meeting room as everyone else is clearly filing out lol, like, can see how he might not be able to go "well, back to work" immediately and need some irritation / feeling like shit / guess who just got yeeellllllllllled aaaaaat to burn off, might need some time to absorb "well i guess i just deferred so no bonus as was probably expected," but can also suppose that maybe when winston gets majorly Shut Down he has shutdowns. saying all of four words in the wake of things, otherwise the fact he has this approach of tensing up, not talking at all, kind of just holding onto eye contact as his last way of "properly" participating in the exchange w/o bailing entirely, while also outwardly withering, like clearly these kinds of moments are pretty significantly affecting....feels like he could find it difficult to talk much, or at all, in the wake of some / need some time to recuperate a bit & have some distance & quiet & not just jump back into work like he's having a fine and normal time. sometimes pondering like, not only those notions like taylor insisting winston not be Interrupted when he hasn't technically started talking yet (giving him the buffering / latency time) but also like, fun kinda imagining them sitting across from each other having a texting conversation....or times winston would rather have an exchange via email......or make use of the sticky notes......or just have taylor talking to him and picking up on his nonverbal responses

winston's very Not present in tmc meetups / get togethers this season & again we know that this could be because his actor wasn't very available but it's still the case In Canon that there's only so many tmcers and they're all seeing each other outside work / market hours for varyingly formal or informal purposes & he's never included. & simultaneously hold the hc's that he could be choosing not to go or he could just never be invited in the first place l o l.....in either of these situations the reason for declining to go or being excluded could be up to "b/c other ppl don't like having him around" and idk, best case scenario is he doesn't want to go for some other reason, but he acts pretty okay with the All Hands meetups we do see / when in meetings with the other named employees he's pretty raring to interact with them, so :/

8. How does your OC talk/what does your OC’s voice sound like?

Neira: Usually soft-spoken, prudent and on the quiet side. Neira isn't one who likes to take the spotlight and that reflects in the way she talks, and yet there is something about her attitude that makes people listen. She is more of a listener than a talker and tries very hard to be cautious and considerate when talking.

Kalagna: Her voice higher pitched and not as harsh as one might expect, but reflects her cautious and stand-offish attitude. Very controlled, as she has learned not to let her tone give away her emotions, and rather monotonous most of the time, but not weak or quiet. She doesn't exactly know fancy vocabulary, but despite her origin she has always made an effort not to let her speech habits become vulgar.

Liam: I imagine him sounding pretty much like mHawke's canon voice, with a generally warm and fruity tone. He is neither overly proper or crude (he doesn't swear because Leandra would've killed him if the twins learned cusses from him), but he definitely gets more loose after a few years in Kirkwall (lookin at you, Varric). Oh yea and his speech pattern involves loads of horrible puns and (usually light-hearted) sarcasm.

Lilian: Her voice is sharper, a bit lower and much more resonant and strong than canon femHawke's voice. It carries and air of authority and confidence, and while she is usually forthright and blunt she is also quite charismatic. Doesn't shy away from swearing but doesn't to it excessively either

June: Her in-game voice (f. British) is pretty accurate I'd say, but more energetic and emotive. June has practically no brain-to-mouth filter which applies both to her language and her voice, so it always carries a lot of emotion. She's blunt and honest and somewhat crude since she doesn't bother with formalities, but isn't confrontational or unfriendly as a rule. She also has a tendency to swear. A lot.

Arari: Has a very low and rumbly voice, tries to sound friendly but somehow he ends up sounding mildly threatening anyway. He is usually very polite and surprisingly eloquent, although outside of formal contexts he gets very awkward and does not talk a whole lot. He could probably cuss if he wanted to but no one has heard him swear yet.

She didn't exactly have many belongings or much personal space in the Circle (nor in camp), so it's what she is used to, and while she does have a room in both the Royal Palace and Vigil's Keep she is out and about most of the time anyway, so she simply doesn't feel the need for a fancy living space.

Kalagna is similarly used to having very little, but as opposed to Neira she likes being able to afford things she couldn't have. She's always had to be practical and frugal, so she likes being able to afford having little banal trinkets not for their practical value but simply because she likes them. Her tents are still very functional, although she enjoys having splashes of bold colour in them -- some scraps of cloth, a dried flower, little things like that.

With both Hawkes I like to think that there is always evidence of their friends coming in and out of the Estate constantly; muddy footprints in the foyer, an unfinished game of cards on the table, a weapon forgotten on the mantel, cupboard doors left ajar from someone rummaging for food... It's a lot more with Liam though, because Lilian is more adamant about her personal space while Liam loves knowing his friends feel at home in his house.

June's room is a mess. It's partly a part of her whole rebelling-against-noble/mage circle expectations-attitude, but she also just likes having her space look lived in and feel distinctly hers. It's not like it's a complete jumble though, it's more of an organised chaos. Also note it may be a mess but it's not dirty -- in fact she'll throw hands if someone leaves crumbs on the bed or puts a jug near her books.

Arari is on the simple and tidy side again, but the way is room is set up is much more deliberate and thought-through than Neira's.

10. What does your OC keep in a special drawer?

wouldn't say special drawer, but Neira still her Warden's Oath amulet, as a reminder of her duty to the Wardens.

Kalagna still has the daggers she had when she first left Orzammar. She may not use them anymore but they had served her well, and she likes to keep them as a reminder of where she started.

I imagine both Hawkes to keep Leandra's amulet with them too, though it has a slightly different meaning for both of them. Liam additionally wears Bethany's (it takes him a while to consider it *his* instead of hers) most of the time, and while he knows it's probably a bad idea, it being an ancient artifact and all that, he keeps the Hawke's Key too (he's a sentimental person what can I say).

11. What is your OC’s relationship with his/her mother?

Neira doesn't remember much from before the Circle, but she does remember her mother vaguely and fondly.

Kalagna's doesn't exactly have a good relationship with her mother, and while part of her does still love her she still hates her for the neglect and abuse she and Rica had to endure.

Liam was very family-oriented in general and loved Leandra a lot, but even if he knew she did it out of grief her blaming him for his siblings' deaths hit him a lot harder than he'd let on (honestly Leandra's behaviour in general prolly had a much more negative impact on him than either of them realise). Still he always made an effort to keep her happy and safe, and he felt horribly guilty when she died.

Lilian wasn't as direct with her affection but just as protective of her in her own way, and while it did not break her as much as it did Liam her death still hit her hard.

June's relationship with her mother was.. strained, and one of the very few things she regrets is her giving her family so much grief before being brought to the Circle. They weren't on good terms for a long time, avoiding any contact with them even after the mage rebellion, and didn't reconcile until some time after the events of Inquisition. They're still not close, but at leas they are on neutral terms.

Arari is on good terms with his parents, but hasn't been in contact with them for some time.

19. What does your OC think of children- either in general or about having them?

Neira is a little unsure how to handle children, but seems to be decent enough with them. They don't exactly flock to her but they don't seem to dislike her either, which is as much as she could hope. She never really considered having children of her own, and while she is not opposed to the idea it isn't likely to happen.

For the longest time Kalagna never even considered thinking about children, until some time after getting together with Alistair. She has to admit there is some appeal to the thought, and part of her does wonder how having a family would be like, but with them both being Grey Wardens (meaning they aren't exactly the most equipped for family life in several ways) it is unlikely to happen anyway so she doesn't think about it too much. In general, she has very little experience handing children, but she tries orienting herself at how Rica treated her when she was younger when interacting with them, though she is a little clumsy in her efforts.

Liam is very fond of children and good at handling them too, after all he has a lot of experience looking after the twins, and he's always wanted to have a family of his own at some point. In fact, probably his one worry when he realised he was bi was "If I end up with a man I can't have children", but I mean, in the timeline where he survives he's got a lovely husband and daughter, so,,,

Lilian is surprisingly gentle with children too, in her own stern, gruff way, and incredibly protective of them. She hasn't really thought about having kids of her own though.

If it's about entertaining children June has absolutely no problem with it. She will gladly put on a magic show, arrange competitions, tell them (slightly inappropriate) stories, or plot pranks with them. If it's about taking care of children, especially younger ones, that's a little too much to ask. She will get incredibly nervous and insecure because "fuck, I'm actually responsible for these buggers, what if I fuck up??". She also definitely doesn't consider having children in the near future.

Arari has a soft spot for children but is somewhat insecure about them because he knows a lot of people are suspicious of him, but while they do seem to be somewhat intimidated by him as well children also tend to be drawn to him somehow?? They are certainly a lot more open and sincere than a lot of adults when approaching him, which is something he appreciates. He is always worried about accidentally hurting them so he is extra gentle with kids, and he could certainly imagine having a family of his own at some point.

54. Does your OC think with his/her head or heart?

Neira's actions are mostly based on her ideals and desire to help, but her actual thought process is still very rational and practical overall.

Kalagna learned early that she cannot afford to let sentiment get in the way, she is always focused on functionality and practical truths.

Liam is much more guided by his heart, in that most of his decisions stem from how his feelings towards any given situation/conflict ect. He believes in basic human decency and doesn't have any strict moral code he follows, so he'll just judge a situation then and there.

Lilian has very strong opinions and principles that are the basis of how she makes decisions, so that probably counts as heart over head?

June I'm not really sure? Technically she is straight-forward and practical, in the sense that she makes decisions based on whatever appears to be the most logical to her at any given time, but at the same time her logic is largely based on personal bias and opinions. Giant hole in the sky? What are we waiting for let's go fix it right now. Wardens doing crazy blood sacrifices? Fuck those maniacs they are dangerous (and I am also pissed because I and my friends almost got killed), exile them. These people are freezing to death and we have spare resources? Yea sure we're going to help them.

Ari, while generally trying to help as best as he can, is still very analytical and strategical in his though-process, and his decisions are usually based on pragmatism and diplomacy.

72. What is your OC’s favorite kind music (and song if there is one)?

Neira has a bias for lutes because Leliana would often play hers in camp or on the road.

Kalagna doesn't care much for music but does like the more upbeat and lighthearted songs.

Liam likes the sound of flutes but doesn't have any particular style or songs that he prefers.

Lilian likes rhythmical music, it calms her down and helps her focus

June likes songs with high energy, songs with high energy that can be sung along to, tavern songs belted out at full volume, and just generally music that is energetic and fun.

Ari isn't much of a music person but he does enjoy chorals.

73. What is your OC’s favorite form of entertainment?

Neira is somewhat of a workaholic so I guess you could say work, in a way?

Kalagna still isn't quite used to being able to afford entertainment (leisure wasn't really an option in Dust Town after all), but Wynne taught her how to knit and she

For Liam, any kind of fun low-stakes activity with his friends is great, which mostly means Wicked Grace with the Kirkwall crew in the Hanged Man. Sparring with them is pretty fun too, though.

June enjoys reading, she doesn't have any particular genre she prefers and will just read whatever catches her fancy. She also loves riding a lot, and experimenting with magic.

Josephine managed to get Arari interested in theatre and acting, although he isn't quite as enthusiastic about it as she it. Other than that he

Neira: Generally more pastel-y, unobtrusive colours, particularly calm blues

Kalagna: Bright and vivid colours, warm > cold

Liam: Earthy tones, especially dark reds and greens

Arari: Cannot pick any one favourite colour because it depends on the context in which a colour is presented

75. What is your OC’s favorite scent?

Neira: Wood smoke - as terrifying as the Blight was, she has a lot of fond memories of the comparably calm nights in camp with her traveling companions, and the smell of a campfire is one she always finds very calming

Kalagna: "Night" - idk if that makes sense, but y'know how it kind of smells a certain way during the night? Anyway, I imagine it was nighttime when Kala left Orzammar for the first time, and the scent just stuck with her

Liam: Leather balm - disregarding nostalgia, the smell is just very pleasant to him, plus tending to his gear is something he finds relaxing to do

Lilian: Vanilla - she has a secret sweet tooth and vanilla will never not make her mouth water

June: Rain - she really likes rainy weather in general, but the smell of rain in a forest or in a field during spring? absolutely unmatched. Hay is a very close second though because she spent a lot of time in the stables as a kid and still loves spending time there

Arari: Spices - there isn't any one specific spice he singles out, but he finds the smell of strong spices in general very enticing

76. What is your OC’s favorite animal?

Neira: she doesn't really have one favourite animal, but she thinks nugs are weirdly cute, and she has a lot of respect for dragons

Kalagna: Birds - no any one bird in particular, though she is partial to songbirds. The fact that they fly is really scary and odd and fascinating to her, and there is just something about them she adores. Plus songbirds simply sound lovely

Liam: Dogs - the Fereldan in him has a soft spot for Mabari, but all dogs are good and deserving of love and belly rubs

Lilian: Cats - they are independent ferocious little beasts who do what they want and she very much approves of that sort of attitude. Also they are adorable and soft

June: Dracolisks - she fell in love with them instantly. They are badass, hardy, independent, and love chin scritches; perfect all around. June's an animal person in general but dracolisks have her entire heart.

Arari: Deer/Halla - there is just a certain grace and power and beauty about them that he finds incredibly fascinating

CH Plays Among Us (Part 1)

The entirety of East Asia will just argue on who gets the color red lmao

China is almost always sus, even when he’s a crewmate ‘cause No One Trusts Him lmao. He’s very steadfast on his tasks and immediately finishes them in a given time period— he gets rather frustrated when someone hits the Emergency Meeting button while he is doing a task. Immediately gets suspicious of someone following him and presses the Emergency Meeting button just to whine about it— he gets voted out instead. Everyone just goes ‘China sus’ despite him minding his own tasks and he throws a fit and he just gets voted out haha

When he’s the imposter he’s very dedicated to the job and is very fast; he sabotages and locks a person with him and straight up murders him and vents with a certain precision. Too bad everyone knows he’s the imposter and still votes him out

Japan is very fixated on his task as crewmate and actually enjoys doing all sorts of tasks. He’s not one to talk in meetings since he’s just very busy figuring out who the imposter is and then a minority votes him just for not talking. He’s the guy who usually complains on why the discussion time is so short and always manages to figure out who the imposter is, but sometimes no one believes him so big oof

When he’s the imposter he’s also very fixated on winning, cutting out the lights or sabotaging with remarkable speed and murdering people in mostly lone areas, such as electrical or in the medbay. He usually answers in vague and cryptic messages, which really just confuses people and dissuades voting for him. When he gets found out as the imposter however, he whines and diverts their attention, but if there is nothing else to do he just leaves the game before voting time finishes

South Korea has memorized the map and doesn’t need those yellow pointy-thingies in doing her tasks— when she had been new to the game she managed to process every single task. She likes seeing how the game works and is much more fixated at that than the tasks in hand. Proceeds to forget about doing said tasks just so she could see the properties of the game. Likes to figure out who the imposter is but usually says “Japan sus” just to rile Pan up and they start accusing each other during Emergency Meetings and even vote for one another.

When she’s the imposter she’s just so smug that everyone could see right through her. Although she is good at sabotaging, she gets one or two kills before she gets voted off for being so smug (Pan will always be her number 1 voter)

North Korea is the epitome of all those violent or toxic players in Among Us. Most of the time he leaves the server when he finds out he’s not the imposter, but when he doesn’t leave he just follows everyone around but he doesn’t do his tasks. He’s usually quiet during Emergency Meetings, but when he gets accused of being imposter, cue him swearing and making nuke threats, which overwhelms some ppl and he gets kicked out of the server

When he’s the imposter he’s just double the smug his sister is and kills people with one witness, self-reports the body, and accuses the other player of killing the guy and they vote the guy off. This only works once cause when he does it again almost everyone sees him and votes him off without a second thought

Taiwan is that one likeable cheater/troll (and i haven’t even liked one) in Among Us. very laid back as a crewmate and does two out of his hundred tasks so he can see his fellow crewmates suffer. Obviously does the “How do I vent like _____ did?” Throws random accusations at people (mostly China) and everyone is convinced bc,,, who isn’t? He loves throwing China under the bus the most tho

When he’s the imposter, he kills people in the most remote locations in the space ship, which takes longer time for people to find the body and shorter time for him to recharge his kill count. Sabotages on a whim, does fake tasking so realistically no one suspects him, except for probably China. But who believes the guy lmao, he gets a Victory almost every time he’s the imposter

Mongolia is pretty quiet and self-indulgent as a Crewmate, he almost always forgets to do the tasks and has a hard time controlling the game. Silent during the whole meeting but he doesn’t get voted out bc he’s regularly forgotten so no one bats an eye. Doesn’t mind when he’s killed ‘cause that means it’s just much easier to navigate the spaceship bc walls aren’t a problem anymore

When he’s the imposter he uses the fact that he’s kind of invisible to people to sabotage and kill people in the most obscure and less-visited areas. Follows with people to do tasks so that he won’t look suspicious, and he just tries to be very inconspicuous. Is actually surprised when he gets a Victory

America is usually the embodiment of Every Among Us Public Lobby ever. When she’s crewmate, she does the tasks dutifully but really just wants to be the imposter (she gets the imposter role 10 tries in the game lmao). When she gets accused of being the imposter she diverts all the attention and blame to Canada/China/Russia which partially works. When she gets killed she swears at the imposter in the chat with every swear known to mankind, and when she gets voted off while not being the imposter she leaves the game without finishing her tasks out of spite

When she’s the imposter… lord god have mercy on her. Her ego and eagerness gets the better of her and she just goes on a killing spree to the most obvious places a body could be discovered. Vents at the wrong time and place, gets accused and she gets thrown under the bus. Rarely even gets a Victory in the game

Canada plans all of his moves during a game of Among Us, and doesn’t really delve into socialising with other players. He maps out the places w/ the least number of murders, doesn’t want to fix the lights bc he knows that the electrical is a graveyard, does his tasks at a fast pace. He’s clueless to figuring out the imposter unless ppl are acting sus, but since he has no evidence he just clamps up and gathers the evidence so he can become Phoenix Wright. Unfortunately everyone speaks over him, sad :,(

When he’s the imposter, he’s unsuspectable and moves through the crowd silently, venting in the right places and killing at the right times. He manages to convince people to vote someone out, and usually protects his fellow imposter when he is getting accused of. Usually gets a Victory in the game.

Australia is basically just Call Me Kevin (seriously, go check him out he’s hilarious). Whenever he's a crewmate he constantly trolls people in the chats to the point he gets kicked out of the server just from pissing a ton of people off. Is very fixated on finding friends and getting attached to them immediately that he forgets to do tasks. When someone is mean to him he accuses them of being the imposter, everyone agrees, and they throw the poor guy off the ship. 5/10 likely to be the imposter. He is a living wreck whenever he gets separated from the friends he’s made in Among Us

When he’s an imposter he does way more chaotic shenaniganry, and does the complete opposite of what the imposter does in the game: make friends, and be a pacifist. Does kill when he wants to, but he either forces a bot to kill people or he does that KILL THAT COLOR! Wheel to choose who he gets to kill. Or he does it the best way where he throws a witness under the bus. Doesn’t get voted out until the last minute oftentimes

New Zealand is basically that one Crewmate who is serious abt doing tasks and figuring out who the imposter is. He usually does the tasks first before figuring out who the imposter is, but gets frustrated when the imposter kills him first. Is usually accused by Aus to be the imposter and he defends himself civilly. Also doesn’t accuse ppl without any evidence, bc he’s that kind of serious Crewmate.

He sucks at being the imposter himself. He just doesn’t know how to control being the imposter or how to sabotage people’s tasks— he also hesitates on killing people too. The only time he’s confident enough to kill someone is when the lights are off. Due to being so inexperienced as the imposter he mostly gets voted out, thankfully.

for the 🌟directors commentary🌟 prompt, this line from galla in chapter 34 of nostalgia has been bouncing around in my head: “You are free here, freer than...than you have been in a long time, I think. I don’t know the King, but I’ve heard how his wife seems sent by the Gods, both for his sake and his home’s...”

it gets touched on briefly a couple of times in the story, but if you’ve thought about it, what DO the ppl of kattegat think of their foreign queen? great work on the last chapter!!

Hi sweetheart! That is such a fantastic question, thank you!

So, in that conversation the Reader is not-so-indirectly asking Galla how much she knows of her situation in Kattegat and her everything with Ivar, right? Galla’s ‘you are free here’ is a ‘I know he doesn’t keep you a prisoner, I know you are a free woman here’, whereas her ‘freer than...than you have been in a long time, I think’ is Galla affirming what the Reader tells Ivar in Chapter 25, that she is herelf with him like she has been with no other, not since she left the Roads to return to Greece. Galla, less than Sieghild but still more than anyone else, is aware of the Reader’s struggles when it came not only to the whole deal with Narses, but to being bound to her mother’s (Danae) legacy and being made Hiereia. In Kattegat she is free of those binds, of that legacy, while also being free of the more literal chains of a) the empire and their crackdown on hellenism and b) Narses and the betrothal.

The second part of Galla’s dialogue that you quoted is for the same purpose, Galla explaining how much she knows of the situation in Kattegat, though by the mean she knows, which is secrets and rumors. Ivar’s marriage to the Reader proves very beneficial even past the personal elements, since he is marrying a woman that (in great measure because of her ‘strange’ or ‘foreign’ ways, but also because of who she is and what titles she carries, amongst them yes, witch) so many people want, it gives him a prestige of sorts. Ivar lives by the public sphere, he is very performative in his actions and a lot of what he does is both a consequence of public opinion while also being caused more directly by it. That was a messy way to word it, but what I mean is: how Ivar is percieved by others (or how he thinks he is percieved by others) dictates how he acts and the things he does, both in persuit of any goal (being recognized as the better amongst his brothers, for example) and because he is cornered (or feels like it) by that public opinion (his Chapter 27ish ‘I’d rather have them fear me’ when he expresses his fear that the people of Kattegat will never see anything other than less of a man in him, as an example). This is a lot of words to say this: Ivar marrying someone, especially marrying someone that is desired by others, and someone with the traits of the Reader, gives him a pride that he didn’t have before. He goes peacock mode, basically. But yeah, in his own way he is reassured by that public display of having a wife, and a wife that is a mighty woman on her own right. So, a prouder Ivar, a more confident one, is a more chill one; which proves great for the people of Kattegat. Minus a couple of nightly razings through the docks to find a couple of merchants he desperately wants dead, he is more chill. So, for his sake, because this bastard got himself one hell of a wife, and for the sake of his home, because the people benefit from that marriage and its effect on their king, she seems sent by the Gods; that is the word around the area, which is how Galla percieves things: through rumors and people.

As to what exactly the people of Kattegat think of her? As to not bother people with a wall of text on their dashboards, Imma answer under the cut :)

So, at the beginning they knew nothing of her, not even her name (which, when your name is what carries your fame, finding out about this nameless woman who is somehow a queen of a land they cannot even imagine and known for it, famous for it, fucks with their minds a bit); so they are, understandably, fucking terrified. Because she arrives in Kattegat at the side of their king, who just casually goes about announcing he will marry her...what, a month later? Nutty, especially when people were already whispering of how she had bewitched Ivar, since he had stopped a battle in her name (he technically didn’t, but gossip gonna gossip, you know?). So, she is either a) really a witch, and a powerful one at that, since she can bewitch a son of Ragnar, Ivar the fucking Boneless, or b) enough of a woman that Ivar, a clear-minded Ivar, bends over backwards for, which is also terrifying, maybe even moreso than the alternative.

So, they don’t like her at the beginning. She is foreign, and strange, and very cold while at the same time having no issue making a scene defying Ivar in the apothecary (Chapter 11), and she is whispered to be a witch, that she has bewitched the most ruthless man they know; and she is going to be made queen, the most powerful woman in Kattegat. Understandably, they are apprehensive, if not fearful, and they do not like her.

With time she starts to grow on the general people, she is close to the regular folk by being a healer with the others (and, even though she is an arrogant little shit when she repeats it, she is one of the best, if not the best, healer in Kattegat; which means she directly improves quality/life over there in that regard), and in between healing broken bones, treating fevers and colds, and assisting a few births; she is more a human woman than this distant whatever that they might have seen her as before. She has a name, she has people close to her, she has quirks and depth, she is no longer a witch to be feared.

And like I said above, she has an influence on Ivar that I think the people of Kattegat would be (for the most part) happy with. She keeps him preoccupied, like Hvitserk says in Chapter 16, and that is good news to the people, y’know? This one doesn’t make him believe he is a god at least, they can just live their lives without too many dramatic breaks in their daily routines lol. But yeah, and especially after winter her effect on Ivar is apparent, since the Ivar of þrá, or the Ivar Freydis speaks of in Alatheia, is one that craves/loves battle and war, and spring means war to them since they can set sail and do their thing, but winter means staying home, staying home where he is reminded of what he is lacking and, like Freydis says, is a beast in a cage for four/six months of the year. So, now he’s not as much of a bastard during the colder months. He still is (a bastard), the Reader is no saint and against what Alatheia!Fraydis might believe not a goddess either, so yeah, even she has limitations lol; but yeah.

She doesn’t truly step into being queen until winter, since, like she reluctantly thanks him for in Chapter 22, Ivar does keep things from changing much once they are married, both for her and their people; but yeah, past an apprehension that will never truly go away, the people of Kattegat can (and have) come to accept and love this foreign queen of theirs.

LI: Raquel

Lizz is my main account, she is also the one that is probably the closest to my personality, she tries her best to be nice to everyone, but know how to impose herself when she feels something is not fair. She speaks fluent spanish since her family from her mother side is Mexican. She used to do cheerleading during middle school, but had to give up on it after a bad knee injury, so going to high school she choose to focus on her grades and she found a passion for math and physics, and seeing that she had potential, she thought it would be worth it to at least try to get a scholarship at the most prestigious school in the country, and that’s how she got into Arlington. She gets a bit nervous around Raquel, but flirts back as much as she can, slowly getting more confused whether is actually flirting or not.

Matt was created while I was really into the Mean Girls musical, so I decided I would make them have a crush on Tadashi while being friends with Karolina. They don’t have the best relationship with their parents and since they were able to get into Arlington but choose the Fashion department instead of the Business or Health, but they try their best to be proud of their kids. Harry was created to be a counterpoint to Tegan, so I thought that the opposite of a introvert nerd was a extrovert arts kid (keep in mind, no i didn’t knew Tyler’s personality or department yet). Anyway, he is the kind of person that is effortlessly good at what he does if he sets his goal into doing something, but he is so nice that no one gets angry at him for it. Dancing is his passion, but he also knows how to play drums and sometimes helps the other performing arts students (like Shawn, my other Performing Arts oc) with their compositions. He is the tallest out of all the ocs, but he is still shorter than Tegan, but is not a huge difference (Idk how inches and foot work and I won’t even try at this point).

Charlie came from my realization that I would actually be at the Business department and not the Science one based on what I want to do when I graduate. They are professional and reliable, but are not that great on social skills, they’re rather shy and were really grateful when they were invited by Claire to hang out with her and Raquel and it definitely helped for their crush slowly grow, they don’t really know how to deal with those feelings tho, they are just going with it and hoping for the best. After a rocky start their relationship, Tadashi and them got into a point where they are kind of friends, but really formal friends and until the whole Nakano scandal they weren’t really vulnerable to each other.

Janet was another person that was created as a counter to her LI, Neha is very organized and Janet is very chaotic and messy. She is from a small town and the Academy is very different from everything she knows, so she was really impressed at first by the diversity, she was not used to it, but she feels blessed she gets to have this opportunity to meet so many different people. She usually jokes about how the arts department is full of nice and fancy materials and she was used to make it work with cheap materials back at home. She usually have some trace of paint on her face or clothes (but she is trying to keep it clean because the uniform is way too expensive to have paint on) and her hands are always with some colorful pen marks. She is described as talented by people around her, but she’s been drawing since she was a small child and works really hard to get on the level of people are Arlington. She is a little bit scared of Karol, but she is always nice to her and is genuinely concerned about both her health and how her situation affect Neha. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but someday Janet will give Neha an original design for a print.

Krys was created when I realized I really liked Al and that I wanted someone who could like, work out and be athletic with him (is this what athletic ppl do? idk, can’t relate). He is a short king, probably the shortest among my ocs, he plays volleyball as a libero (and yeah i decided that literally this week bcuz i rewatched haikyuu and it inspired me). Alistair makes him feel all kinds of things and he is so sweet and nice, I can imagine him and Lizz complaining together about how hot ppl from Athletics are. He doesn’t really like Karolina, he thinks she is rude and prejudiced and it took a little while form him and BIanchi (the other Athletics oc) because of that, he ends up warming up to her after the Nakano Scandal because she seems very genuine about her feelings for Tadashi and he can respect that.

When I was thinking about Angel I was just like, pretty and fun, a little bit edgy. He is pretty in a kinda unconventional way, too feminine for most of the male models demand but he choose to remain authentic to himself (And also he will never be able to have a six pack and he accepted it). He probably heard about Axel before (I mean, he is a sensation, isn’t he?), but didn’t actively look for him, he consider himself a more indie kind of guy. In the process of falling for Axel he did question himself if he was not falling in love out of interest, but he soon got over it, because he couldn’t avoid the feelings that were growing.

LI: Karolina

Bianchi was created using “jock” as the first thing that came to my mind about her. After a little research I figured Bianchi is actually a surname, not a first name, so I decided she doesn’t vibe with her first name and she decided she would like it better to be called by her last name. She is kinda cocky, she knows at what she is good at and is very confident. She works with Karolina because she won’t let her put her down without fighting back and she knows what she has to offer, Karol would eventually see her as a equal and Bianchi is very weak for pretty girls, she would probably also flirt a lot with Karol, just to piss her off a little bit. She hopes to become a professional swimmer, but she also does weightlifting as a hobby.

LI: Ellie

Yuri was created because I needed someone who was around the conversation about Arlignator to be into the Health Department to actually do the Arlignator and undertsand the reference. It’s hard for me to relate to her because I would never in my life go for a health area, so it’s hard for me to develop her. But, I did develop her family (cuz u know, i needed to be able to talk about her in someway amirught), so her father have a Japanese heritage and her mother have a Chinese one, her dad is not that in touch with his heritage because he was raised by his single white mother, and her mother’s family on the other side is very connected with the Chinese culture, and that’s why despite the Japanese name, Yuri speaks fluent Mandarin. Ellie is someone who takes her a little out of her comfort zone, and that works for her because she always wanted to be a little adventurous but never had any stimulation for it, and now she have it (with a little crush as a bonus).

LI: Tyler

Shawn was heavily influenced by AJR, which is a band I listened a lot when I started to play SE. He is a songwriter and a composer (no, i don’t know the difference, I’m sorry ppl who know music I’ve failed y’all) and he wants to make music that are more than love and sex and still have a kinda pop feeling about it. He is the most confident after Bianchi out of my ocs and he is very restless. Him a Tyler hit it off from the beginning since they have a similar sense of humor and sometimes he feels like he understands a little better all the love songs out there, and even promising himself he wouldn’t sing about love (a la Hayley Williams, but maybe one or two actually are actually created.

I tried to take pity on my followers and condense my thoughts about hamlet to more or less one post so you only have to ignore me once... but anyways here’s a list of things I cannot stop thinking about since seeing hamlet at st ann’s:

-the sounds (the clock chiming, the doors opening and closing, the echoey way the ghost talks, the plastic sheet curtain, the song the grave diggers and ophelia sing)

-the way that hamlet’s father’s body is first wheeled out covered in a plastic sheet, and later a curtain is used that really just a big plastic sheet but looks super glowy and cool with the lighting, and makes the scenes with the ghost and the very end super surreal and cool

-the incense/smoke in the air when you first come in which also just looks. So Cool with the lighting

-the way it just starts, without any announcements or anything, and everyone just instantly going silent when hamlet opens a door, walks across to the middle of the stage, and cries silently

-the way claudius’s speech is so loud it hurts, and how claudius is facing away, but hamlet faces us, and we can see how pained his face is, and realize that the speech is so painfully loud because that’s how it sounds to him

-the stage crew/players/gravediggers/embodiments of death and their constantly taking things off stage, leaning against doorways, being cool and ominous with their black eye makeup and bowler hats

-the set, and the doors, the way light streams through them sometimes when they’re open

-the way hamlet is moving constantly, erratically, jumping on tables, laying in the ground, etc

-when it rains onstage but only in one small rectangular area, that ophelia stands in towards the beginning, calling for hamlet (the very overt but somehow not annoyingly so foreshadowing of how that spot of rain was the exact size and shape of a coffin)

-rosencrantz and guildenstern (they just. They came on stage and they were like. Just some Guys. Just some Dudes. They looked like somebody had 3D printed two stock photos of white guys. They looked like they had the personality of a sea cucumber. One of them was wearing adidas sneakers. They looked like the most boring gay people you’ve ever met. Guildenstern looked almost exactly like Travis McElroy. The entire audience burst into laughter as soon as they stepped on stage.)

-when the actors would walk up and down the aisles or along the side of the theater, right by the audience (which was quite often) and especially when the king and everyone watching the play was just seated in basically another row of the audience, with the performers on stage

-the fact that characters would be in all different places throughout the theater and you’d wish you could look at all of them at once because all of them, even the most minor characters were each doing something unique and interesting with their expressions (especially right after the mousetrap scene, I just wanted to look at EVERYBODY)

-the ppl sitting behind us who during intermission alternated between analyzing what was happening in the most stuck-up snobby way and quoting the “I am once again asking for” Bernie meme, but at the end of the play, simply said, “so. that hamlet guy huh.”

-Ruth negga

-Ruth negga in the hoodie

-Ruth negga when her shirt gets untucked

-Ruth negga and the way she sat/lounged in that armchair while talking to rosencrantz and guildenstern

-hamlet fucking with polonius

-hamlet being sassy and whiny and funny and serious all at once

-Ruth negga and just absolutely killing every single scene

-every single cast member also killing all of their scenes and adding so much depth to their characters (although I didn’t particularly like ophelia’s “mad” scene, I felt like aoife duffin was absolutely incredible at being Ophelia)

-the way horatio held hamlet to him when they learned of ophelia’s death

-how all of hamlet’s interactions with ophelia, horatio, and laertes, were simultaneously all so gay

-obviously it was all a very different experience seeing it performed rather than reading it, but I felt like it especially made everything with laertes and ophelia SO much more tragic and upsetting... like the casual way that claudius and polonius ignore ophelia’s humiliation and grief is so painful to watch

-the way the chair was left overturned on the stage during intermission. once again it just looked so cool

-I was worried it would be completely serious, because it seemed like such a dark interpretation of hamlet, but the parts that were funny to read were even funnier, and parts that I didn’t even expect to be funny were hilarious

-I totally still think the gertrude killed ophelia theory fits here ( the way gertrude repeated “drowned” several times with increasing emphasis...👀)

-hamlet playing the recorder terribly

-laertes

-hamlet seeming so comfortable and almost happy around the players (he jus wanted to be an actor bro 😣) and the fact that some of their reactions and the way they performed the mousetrap made it seem like he had even confided in them and told them a little about what he was doing

-gertrude’s bright red bed, and the way that bright red curtain falls quickly all at once to the floor

-the part they changed slightly to make it clear that gertrude was suspicious of claudius and drank the poisoned cup to protect hamlet

tldr; verification for sung’s song tokyo. partial lyrics, full comp & prod. the song starts in tokyo, when sung is missing his boyfriend. it evolves over time to be like a diary piece and since it serves as the first ‘chapter’ in his album, it’s also kinda like an intro where it talks through/foreshadows what will be in the rest of the album. sung’s affinity for natural sounds continues, as well as inspiration from @fmdxsuji’s song arari on the composition. again pls dont come for me if it isn’t a gayageum it Sounds like one (in the equivalent of white ppl playing the ukulele but still)

not all songs needed to be about one thing. tokyo, for instance, happened to be about ten different things at once.

it’d started in tokyo. element had a tour stop in the city, and sung wasn’t feeling as chipper as he’d have liked. he loved performing with everything in his being, but-- he still rested his head against the window, watching buildings and people pass by in blurs, no other care for conversation.

sung couldn’t quite make sense of what had caused such a mood in him on the plane from seoul. he supposed, part of it was that he missed daisuke. his boyfriend wasn’t from tokyo, far from it actually, which over time seemed to have made daisuke feel a bit bitter towards tokyo. it wasn’t close enough for his family to visit, which meant seeing them even less often than he would have through touring. sung understood that. he doesn’t like being so far away from his parents the few weeks at a time that element go on tour. years sounded impossible.

but, tokyo still reminded him of daisuke. being greeted at the gate, and hearing chit chat all around him in japanese, sat an ache in his heart. after all, coming to know daisuke over the last four years was the reason he’d come to be better at japanese. passing on by, he could understand most of what was being said, and that was all daisuke’s impact. most every sign he saw reminded him of his boyfriend, the food that he ate reminded him of what wasn’t with him.

maybe, he was just sad in general. that happened to sung, sometimes. he couldn’t pinpoint an exact cause of sadness, and was just sad. underlying issues he hadn’t dealt with could be the reason that happened, but it could also simply be his brain chemistry acting up.

that was his trouble; sung didn’t know. all that he could do was sit in his feelings until they lessened. he took a walk by himself before the concert, telling his manager he can ask for directions if he happens to get lost. that time alone was really needed. he called daisuke, but it seemed the man was busy, as he went to voicemail.

“hi, honey. um, i made it into town safely. it’s- it’s kind of loud here, this might have been the wrong time to call, but, um, i just wanted to check in. maybe see your face.” he’d stopped his path, leaning up against a building to look at the sky. “i miss you already. it’s hard being surrounded by so much that reminds me of you, when i don’t have... you.” his sigh probably sounded tinny over the phone. “anyway, um, call me when you have time, please. i love you!”

sung stayed in that spot for a while, long enough that he decided to record a video of the bustling landscape around him. as he started walking again, he caught all kinds of sounds, cars, trains, planes, click clacking of heels, even a siren. he ended the video with a short facecam, so he could cut that part of the video to send to daisuke.

over the rest of his time in tokyo, sung kept playing that ten minute video over and over, and over again. something about the ambient, faceless sound of human existence was calming, comforting.

in the shower after the concert, sung kept humming the same note pattern on repeat. at first, it was natural, as his brain kept coming back to it, without his active thought towards it. however, the more he repeated himself, the more sung thought that he should be keeping his melody in his head to record after he got out of the shower. it could be useful for something, at some point, he’d reasoned.

he was right, eventually. in the flurry of trying to write songs for his first solo album, sung had turned back to every piece of unfinished song that he possibly could. one of them was this piece, broken into the sounds of daily tokyo streets, and a short humming melody. it was... workable.

sung crafted a simple piano piece based on the humming, used some of the sound from his tokyo video, and just with those two things, it was a basis to write off of. he tried to recall the feeling of that day, by watching the full video of the street a few times over. getting back to that day wasn’t as hard as he thought. papers, then his computer, were dotted in with sing-rap lines about missing someone.

only partially through mixing that vocal line in, did sung think he might be wasting his time. the sound was so different from everything else he’d been working on, much too simply and abstract. and so, the playlist of tokyo was shelved again.

with march came the end of his second solo promotions, and in came the desire to write more music. it was then he came back to toyko, to fiddle around. sung wasn’t sure what he wanted from the song, or if he wanted anything at all, which took some of the pressure off in continuing to write. he made it much more complicated, at first, adding a plethora of digital instruments that he figured he could add in live later, should he so choose. in the end, basically none of that made it into the final cut. the negative of doing whatever he pleased, was that for the most part, he’d lost the point, and feeling, of the song.

what did stay, was something sung came to find integral to the piece. modeled after a recording of his own heartbeat, there was a drum line. deep, guttural, mixed into the piece as if it was still stuck in someone’s chest, and your ear was against it, straining to hear what was pounding into you without any effort on its part.

the song had started to be about life, and those held dear, which was a perfect place to use something that sounded like the foundation of life.

stumbling across the song for the last time was entirely accidental. sung would call it fate. that melody hadn’t crossed his mind in months, but the second he heard it again, it was stuck for weeks. there was nothing he could do to quell the sound in his brain than work on it.

first, he stripped back what wasn’t working, back to the simplistic version he’d started with. after adding on the drums, the world was his oyster. over the next couple of weeks, sung started writing lyrics, mixing where he was at back in tokyo, with his feelings of self. he wondered, if maybe part of his sadness, that day, was in missing himself, too. being in that sad area wasn’t what sung liked to consider part of him. it was something that happened to him, that he dealt with decently regularly.

lyrics took the majority of his time, as he mulled over this thoughts of what the song might come to be, if about anything particular at all. the next major composition change was quite quick, though. his interest had been piqued, the first time he heard suji’s demo of arari. sung had yet to attempt using traditional korean instruments in his music. really, the thought hadn’t crossed his mind until that moment, having his heart swayed by the beauty of the danso and suji’s beautiful voice.

he wasn’t very confident, never having trained with traditional instruments before, but there was a first step in everything. he’d gone to his usual music shop as soon as he had time to, to rent a gayageum. and, simple as the piece he wrote was, it didn’t take too much learning for him to get a good recording of it. listening to it again, with that addition, sung felt how much the song benefitted from that small change, and promised himself that he would continue to learn the gayageum, so that he could make something more beautiful to show the world in the future.

sung also made a note to thank suji for the inspiration.

the next change was quite a big one, though it didn’t deal with the composition. towards the end of september, sung thought he might want to go further than he did with moonchild, and have a song completely in english. even more ambitious than before, he knew, but he also had a slight edge of confidence, after having felt the power moonchild ended up bringing.

a creature of habit, sung called up the same songwriter he’d worked with on moonchild, to request help again. he didn’t really want to translate the words he’d already written, thinking that would flow much less smoothly as a full song, but rather, he wanted to take the feelings he’d put into the korean lyrics, and match it with english.

sung tried to take a more active role in writing the lyrics that time, because it was a full song, based on his own experiences and feelings. it worked fine enough, since sung had a decent grasp on understanding english, even if he didn’t think of it easily himself.

he’d insisted they keep one of the english lyrics that was in the original piece. it was a callback to another song he’d written for the album, talking about love and hate. tokyo was a place that held those feelings, from himself and his original inspiration for the song, just like seoul had from himself for the last decade.

getting to where he wanted was harder than it was for moonchild, since they were starting from near zero, from where sung usually started his songs, and because... sung knew he was being more stressful of a writing partner than he was the last time. every word he wasn’t sure of, he asked for in-depth explanations of, wanting each line to express exactly what it was he was going for.

sung couldn’t explain what this song was about, if he was asked, not in a pretty pink bow. the song was about tokyo, and what that city had brought to sung. that ditty, on repeat, with the sounds of scratched pavement underneath. music wasn’t always simple to understand. it could be a feeling.

the last thing sung changed about the song before sending it off in his final tracklist, was a clip of him humming at the end of the song, with that siren in tokyo in the distance.

Shikamaru takes a rather passive interest in you at first because he is not one to fall head over heels for anyone and he will develop feelings for you slowly over time, it could be a matter of weeks, months or even years depending on how much time the two of you spend around each other. Because he will not push to spend time around you especially if you don’t seem all that interested in being around him, he can fall for you faster if you show an interest or curiosity in him whether in a romantic way or not.

Your fiery, blunt and sarcastic attitude is what will initially draw his attention to you, he doesn’t really like to be bossed around or told what to do but it’s something he’ll respond to every time. You don’t even particularly care about what people may say about you but you won’t stand for people talking bad about your loved ones. Shikamaru is very loyal as well and while he is protective, he can be more level headed because he typically won’t get too riled up if someone talks badly of a loved one, though he can at times particularly depending on the person. But he can be sensible about the situation because if he feels like the person who is talking badly of a loved one isn’t worth the time he won’t respond, and will encourage you not to react either.

However, unless he feels like you could be in danger he won’t stop you from defending your loved ones because he’s actually very confident that when it comes to insults and comebacks you can hold your own, and can probably tear someone apart with words if you wanted to. But if things were to get physical or serious, he will step in to protect you or break things up because he really won’t like having to fight or take things to a physical scuffle unless it can’t be avoided.

He is a very good listener and pays very close attention to detail which means he knows a LOT about you because he really listens to you when you speak even though he may not always seem the most attentive. He’s supportive and comforting to you as well but he will not push or pressure you to open up to him, if you don’t want to open up or talk to him that’s okay, he’ll understand. You do have low self-esteem, low self-confidence and hate crying in front of people and don’t like to talk about your insecurities, which he won’t press you to talk about anything you don’t want to.

He is encouraging in general though because he does want you to feel comfortable talking with him if you want to, but he will also give you plenty of space and alone time if that’s what you need or want. He won’t want to confront you or make things awkward if you are upset or crying, doesn’t mean he won’t be concerned about you but he tends to give you space at least initially.

Kind of letting you cry and get your frustrations out alone before coming to you or asking if you are alright, because he will learn that you don’t like crying in front of him. You do have a very good sense of humor and you are very open minded as well; he does appreciate your humor and sarcasm and actually finds it pretty cute when you tease him or even insult him. You do enjoy Halloween to some extent though it’s not as though you go overboard for it, which is fine because neither will he and in fact if it wasn’t for you, he probably wouldn’t do anything for the holiday. He won’t mind Halloween decorations and can find them a bit amusing or cute but really comes across as pretty passive and neutral about Halloween.

You will go to small Halloween parties though particularly ones hosted by friends and nothing with too many people involved, which he’s not against going to either though he’s not exactly enthusiastic about it either. You like dressing up though nothing revealing which is perfectly alright with him especially if you’re going anywhere because he won’t exactly approve of a revealing costume.

He is open to the idea of dressing up for Halloween but won’t go all out for a costume either and he is also fine with some kind of matching costumes with you. But generally, he won’t feel too compelled to wear a costume unless the two of you are going to a Halloween party because he won’t see the point, but he won’t want to be the odd ball out by going to a Halloween party and not wearing a costume.

He is also open to walking around with kids who are family members or friends’ children for trick or treating, but far more content with staying in one place and being the one to hand out candy for trick or treaters.

Overall he is very level headed and supportive and will be there for you no matter the circumstances and no matter what happens, he believes the two of you can over come anything as long as the two of you are together because he really doesn’t see a future without you once he falls in love with you.

🎃 Doesn’t mind PDA but also prefers to keep things more mild and subtle just hugs and holding hands when the two of you are out in public, but he also won’t object to more than that especially depending on the situation. He is far more likely to instigate affectionate acts when the two of you are alone.

🎃 Tends to only really like Halloween for the candy and will not appreciate anyone trying to scare him, though he is VERY difficult to actually scare or even startle. But even so he won’t object to something like going to a haunted house or such if that’s something you want to do, and he can walk through a haunted house relatively unphased.

🎃 When cuddling or being affectionate with you he enjoys cuddling with you lying down, in bed or even lying on the couch or the floor. Enjoying cuddling when the two of you are watching movies or reading together, in fact he can enjoy having laid back dates at home and playing games, watching movies and cuddling.

🎃 Will like more traditional type Halloween costumes like vampires, werewolves, monsters, Frankenstein, story book characters etc. And will also prefer to go as something at least a little spooky or scary rather than something that isn’t scary at all because he will associate Halloween with scary things.

Nobody asked for this but I'm still on my gambling girlz bullshit and I wanted my headcanons typed out for future writing purposes so get ready (Warning: This post contains omorashi and dirtier watersport kinks, back out now if you don't like that bc I'm not putting slashes in all the names) :

LA Midari: She gets her own section bc (somehow) she seemed even less composed than the animated one so they're almost different characters: She's prone to holding to ridiculous extremes when she's very invested in a task/having fun, and would rather cling on until she wets herself than actually take a quick break bc she's sure she can hold it. When she's like this (even tho she doesn't realize it) she's super obvious about it, constantly doing a little dance and grabbing herself or squirming in her seat, whining under her breath, but even when ppl fuss at her to go she'll swear she's fine until she's finished whatever she's doing or the less-fortunate scenario occurs. Genuinely surprised when she pisses herself, embarrassed for like a minute, but then probably laughs it off. ((I could also see this hc sort of working for animated Midari, but only if Yumeko was involved somehow (ex. They're in the middle of a gambling match or just hanging out) bc that's the only reason she wouldn't dare leave. Anyone or anything else (bar The President) and animated Midari would just say 'fuck it' and go tbh.)) Also she has definitely walked to the edge of her cell and pissed at least once just to drive Manyuda up a wall when she's mad at him/feels like the rest of the council was ignoring her. Not bladdershy in the slightest since she seems to spend most of her time locked up in her own area in full view of the council (Like she can clearly get out for breaks and stuff but there had to have been times they refused to release her bc she was extra unstable and they just gave her a pot or smth).

Midari (animated aka my fav) : I have a lot of varying ideas I like with her. On one hand, she could easily be the type to go in front of anyone in any situation and gripe the whole time and not give a fuck, considering her attitude towards everything else. On the other hand, she could be severely bladdershy just to conflict with the rest of her wild personality. Either way, she (generally) doesn't like the idea of piss getting on her/her clothes, outfits/accessories are important to her. That said, if in a sexual setting, she's willing to make the sacrifice if it gets her partner riled up, especially if it leads to her being humiliated and degraded. Still gets fidgety when desperate, but for the most part she tends to be subtler about it unless she wants someone to know (ex. Already said she had to and was denied so she might as well squirm and growl about it to annoy them, or in a sexual setting to tease her partner). If she gets past a certain point of desperation though, she will abandon all subtlety and bounce around holding herself like her life depends on it. Would piss on someone without a second thought if asked tbh. She's a freak so like, she might drink it, but probs only if it was Yumeko's and she asked her to.

Mary: The absolute definition of being too proud to say she has to go. Capable of avoiding outward signs of desperation for the most part, although her temper will usually flare up over nothing which lets the more observant know something's up. Completely loses concentration when desperate. She can hold for long amounts of time, but once the urge catches up with her, it catches up fast. She rubs her thighs together a lot and taps her feet, refuses to grab her crotch ever. If pushed to the point where it's unavoidable, she'll bite the bullet and bring up her need, but she'll still deny any extra coddling or sympathy by saying she can handle it until they get somewhere. Will only use odd receptacles/places as a last resort. Wetting would be beyond mortifying for her, but she would refuse any comfort at all and storm off. If you breathe a word, you're dead. No piss kinks, might be willing to try it for a partner, but prefers domming them to holding herself.

Yumeko: Like many things, it doesn't concern her one way or the other. Equally likely to ask the second she feels the urge (even if the timing is inconvenient to everyone else) as she is to keep quiet and hold it until she can't anymore (and either bring up how desperate she is completely calmly, or accidentally wetting herself), it just depends on her daily whim. She doesn't get rattled when desperate, only excited, and enjoys the slight urgency it brings to games. Technically has a bladder of steel, but she drinks a lot for the sake of enjoying tea and such so it evens out tbh. Doesn't like interrupting what she's doing to get up and go. Not shy at all, would probably hike her skirt out of the way and pop a squat in the middle of the school yard if someone didn't stop her. Probably That Girl (tm) who tries to hold a full conversation in the stall next to you while she's going lmao. Absolutely has a piss kink, ranging from cutesie omo/desperation (either herself or her partner) to the filthiest watersports you can think of, often combined with petplay or bdsm.

Itsuki: Tiny bladder, literally always has to pee even if she barely drank. Tends to bounce in place and pace a lot, especially since she's already naturally energetic. Tries to grin and bear it/make jokes about it until she can take care of it, but if it takes too long she just gets upset and panicky. Very vocal and whiny to friends, but around strangers/important ppl she struggles to stay quiet and professional. Wetting would definitely upset her since she has her company's image to keep up, but Yumeko could probably ease the sting. No piss kink and would be sceptical at first, but still open to it once her partner explains it (I mean this bitch collects nails, she can't exactly judge). Only the desperation/wetting though and kinda cutesie, she would draw the line at the harder stuff.

Kirari: So calm and collected, she could be wetting herself right in front of you and you wouldn't know it. She wouldn't though. All about control of herself and her environment, The President has both a bladder and will of steel, and could outlast even Yumeko without any competition. If by some miracle her need did get to a tipping point, she would stay composed outwardly, but wouldn't last long with actually holding it, since she isn't used to being pushed so far. The only person she would confide her needs in is her secretary, Sayaka, and perhaps the VP. Definitely embarrassed by wetting, but would also be intrigued, feeling a hint of awe that her control was broken. As for kinks, she definitely has it, but she's much more into seeing others desperate than going through it herself. She prefers to dom her lovers and victims, watching them squirm for the sheer sake of coming unraveled. Bdsm, petplay, and pure humiliation are her specialties, and she does not play lightly. Would be willing to pee on somebody, even in their mouth, but only to chuckle at how pathetic they are to allow such treatment. Ryota (because I guess I should throw him in) : Average bladder, shy about asking if smth important is happening, casually leaves if not. Lots of stealthy-not-stealthy crotch grabs or leg crosses if forced to hold, his expression is a dead giveaway bc he doesn't have a poker face to save his life. Tries not to whine too much unless there's a way someone could help. Definitely embarrassed by wetting, but tbh he's been through so much worse at this point that he'll get over it by the next day. Doesn't have any kink, but isn't disgusted by it and is down for it to make Yumeko happy as long as it stays to desperation/wetting (he draws the line at being peed on, but will mark her if she begs for it).

i seen a few times ppl like implying that the positive char development that the donuts are getting via their experiences has anything to do with them having Needed A Break from each other.......i’m truly bemused like. are you talking about this in terms specifically of their Relationship to each other? b/c frankly the way i was seeing it is that their relationship prior to these arcs was actually in a fairly chill place, and that they had figured out a lot of things abt their own / each others needs in terms of it that had been causing them problems and all. obviously i wasnt thinking like “guess everythings perfect for them now” since i mean it wasnt even clear they were like for sure officially ~together~ but also b/c why would it be when they’d just started to be able to have a more solid handle on their own mutual deal

but also like. the only thing we can really say is that sadie quit the big donut and got “yolo” knuck tats because there was nothing at all adequate abt the job w/o having a coworker to hang out w and the fact that lars just went off and died is like, well then live for the fuckin moment i guess huh. like that situation isnt even caused just by the fact that lars is absent, like maybe he’s on vacation or something. its that he, again, died and is still in danger and nobody knows for sure if/when he’ll get back. maybe she wouldn’t’ve started a garage band if that hadn’t happened, but its not like if she had done that and lars was still there, she would definitely be prevented from doing anything involving pursuing her interests, like. idk hopefully nobody thinks that ppl in relationships can’t have independent pursuits or focus on their personal interests

meanwhile there’s no point in saying that anything lars is doing requires sadie’s absence either. its more sort of say the absence of absolutely everyone on earth save steven for a bit there. like sure it was a factor that they got separated the way they did and he felt bad for being too panicky to help her but, same as with sadie, that has nothing to do with benefitting directly from her not being there. and its not like being separated from sadie was the One Reason he was able save everybody and get them all on a spaceship. there was like half a dozen factors there; to suggest if sadie had been there he wouldn’t be able to do this is.....i dont even know...

like fr this whole time for the both of them, the other has been probably the person they’ve been most comfortable being most like themselves around, and not feeling the kind of pressure from each other that generally stifles them in most other situations (like how lars is afraid of how ppl (he presumes negatively) judge him, how sadie feels bound by various expectations for what ppl think she’s really like (but isn’t really like))...the fact that they’re both getting to explore these different sides of themselves isnt really anything they couldnt do back on earth together. the events that happened to separate them (and separate lars from like all of earth...just to reiterate..) just happened to give them a real boost along the lines of making these decisions that impacted their development and gave them these totally new roles within totally new experiences

this is like ppl who have some idea that lars “needed” to die. like, even when its not just ppl who think so badly of lars’s char that they Wanted him to die, but rather looking back on the fact that that happened and he was killed/revived real quick lol—lars didnt Have to do that to have the development of getting to actually fight to protect others and himself and gain some confidence. he wouldve done that whether or not it had actually killed him—when he let the guys scan him without knowing it WOULDNT kill him was arguably enough to give him the same development as if the one hadnt blown up at him suddenly. and i mean, the space piracy is given a fun angle because its cool and genre, but none of them are doing it for fun. they’re trying to get to earth and not fuckin die along the way. lars is getting to continue Experiencing Some Confidence for the first time in probably ever but to present the situation he’s in and how he’s gotten there as something he “needed” is a bit cruel lol...he coulda done that on earth

like yeah if they were both living their normal lives you dont Know that some normal earth event would make them quit and sadie pursue her interests and independence while lars is put in a situation where he feels like he Belongs in a group and has confidence in himself and his ability to do like, anything. but thats coz events sort of just happen at you randomly. like how the event of being attacked by aliens basically led to this for them...it wasnt the Only Way these things could happen, its just The One Way That They Did

and like i also dont quite see that these changes theyve gotten to go through are going to put them in a perfect version of a relationship when lars gets back to earth...they still dont have the longest history of feeling kinda secure in the fact that the other really does actually like them ok, and this whole time theyve been teenz so what do you expect them having a smooth tumult-free development for, and having positive (and negative) experiences separately doesnt just automatically translate into an instantly leveled up relationship the moment they stand within 10 ft of each other again. they gotta catch up and relearn where each other is at and what their new lives and wants and needs are...and just coz their positive development might make it a bit Easier for them if some of their strongest insecurities are a lil blunted now & plus just that being happier tends to make everything easier, doesnt mean that everything is simply effortless. tbh if a relationship is effortless and stays together forever thats less Romantic And Ideal than like, sheer luck.

and it’s unrealistic (in life and in how the show doesnt make a character complete an emotional arc in a single episode or suddenly shed a defining trait just because they realize they ought to change their approach re: something or other) to think that either lars or sadie have like, completely shed all their issues as individuals anyways. and i mean, its their issues that drove them to make these changes theyre currently on. sadie being frustrated with her job, feeling unable to be herself = the motivations that means she’s now really actively pursuing what tf she feels like doing and pushing for it to continue and for it to be in line w what she wants it to be. but she’s not suddenly freed from all insecurities or feeling like everything’s perfect forever and she can never feel stifled again. plus yanno this whole time she freakin misses lars coz they’re friends and that’s not like...something she’s needed to do. absence makes the heart grow fonder but “be apart from each other indefinitely” isnt any kind of a relationship requirement. its just painful and all.

and lars knowing what its like to be afraid all the time and being frustrated abt it means he was so pushed to all at once finally stand up against what he’s scared of that he went and got himself killed, and also that he doesn’t feel the same social pressure he did on earth amongst the off colors, because he knows they know what its like to be scared all the time too—which ppl back on earth didnt understand about him. and so its the fact he’s so familiar with fear and stress that he’s able to fight for them and himself so hard now. but it’s not like you can just Decide your lifelong anxieties out of existence. after a dramatically changing experience, you’re not gonna be the same person you were before, and you’re not gonna be a totally different person. lars isnt some different person unaffected by fears or insecurities anymore. like heck he was still afraid that sadie actually didn’t miss him at all and was maybe even glad that he was gone, something that was completely in line with who he’s been and how he’s felt this whole series. and people go and be annoyed b/c i guess they expect him to just be a character Completely Changed by one dramatic yet brief part of his life rather than a character who’s still just developing and shaped by all his past experiences actually. and who, no, didnt get to choose to shed all fear b/c thats not how it works. he still feels it, he just finally got the taste of taking action anyways. plus even now that he’s not stuck in a crisis over thinking sadie might just hate him now, tbh he does still need to hear it from her that she doesnt lol)

also? tbh? lars’s Whole New Thing has been happening while he’s (mostly) isolated on a spaceship, w just the offcolors and maybe occasional interactions w hostile aliens, which hardly counts as socializing. and sadie’s whole thing of being herself and pursuing her own desires is still happening just around the cool kids really—not to mention all behind a persona. it’s actually not even that like, a lack of confidence = lack of stage fright or vice versa. its a whole other thing for her to stand up for herself and make her own choices in areas that have nothing to do with her band, even though the experiences within the band will help and give her a starting point and something to feel secure in. just like when lars is back on earth and off the ship, he won’t have the same role he has just around the off colors, just being the front of that band in his own, more imperiled, less musical way. and just coz he knows he can hold his own against destructive imperialistic colonizing aliens, doesnt mean he’s gonna be fearless in the face of the cool kids now, or think he can do anything. he’s still faced with the expectations and perceptions from ppl that he did before he left, even if the way ppl act with lars can easily change now. again, just coz things might be easier for the dnuts now doesnt mean they’ve just shrugged off their problems or are now faced with effortless paths in all aspects of their lives

theyve needed a break from the norm they used to have, but Each Other was the least of what was holding them back from changing things up for themselves. it was completely external events as much as anything else that changed things up for them, coz thats how it works sometimes—and within their new circumstances theyve gotten to experience a new situation that lets them be a bit different than they’ve gotten to be back on earth. i mean, they were really restricted. they had the terrible job, both have somewhat strained relationships w parents who dont seem to really understand who their child is, both of them feel pressured by people in general, both have insecurities, both were kind of just faced with a future that didnt involve them being able to just see happiness coming down the line. and it was a big problem for both of them tbh that neither of them really had any friends. sadie was finding it difficult to express herself or be herself, she was always in a scenario where someone (her mom, corporate policy, customers,) expected her to be a certain way that wasnt the real her, she had a crap job, nobody really seemed to know her, her tendency to Hold Back Until You Blow Up could be counterproductive to say the least. lars is stuck in the same job, with nobody thinking he’s particularly good for anything, even his parents not really expecting him to succeed in any way, desperately wanting friends but being too afraid of people to make any, being defensively irritable and pushing people away but unable to be angry on his own behalf. they’re both getting their first chance to be themselves, they’ve both stumbled into Friend Groups where they’re not only respected but supported and even esteemed, they’re both making and acting on choices completely on their own and not being as held back by their fears. but they’re the same people and none of this means the problems they’ve been dealing with are over because of it. they’ve just been forced to adapt to this change that’s come upon them, and they’ve both happened to make the most of it and be getting something positive out of a really crap situation. they could be having these arcs via a different scenario, but it would probably have to be more drawn out if nobody was in fuckin space

getting away from me slightly but its weird to say that lars and sadie Needed to be separated by lightyears thru a horrible experience and one of them is killed and still in space indefinitely. and i dont know how you’d describe what’s happening there as “a break.” that not only implies that they chose to be separated but that they have had the option to be together this whole time and continuously chosen not to, and have considered this whole experience to be a positive thing. an involuntary separation where both really wish they weren’t separated isnt a break. and to say that either of them Need to be separated in this particular way, like, man you know what their relationship needs? someone to be sent an impossible distance away & he died and might die again and might be unable to return. like, no relationship needs that or anything like that. it’d be affected by it sure, and they might be able to find silver linings in it as they have, but its never going to be necessary.....like, fucks sake if it was, how fucked up would that be

again a break would have to be something voluntarily chosen that they believed would be positive for them both, not that they believed would involve mortal peril. and they like, arent enjoying the fact theyre separated. and what the characters are going through is more about their individual developments than how it necessarily applies to their relationship—again i’d argue their relationship was in a decent place actually. not perfect obv, but good...i mean look at how good they both were at recognizing what they were both struggling with re each other. lars didnt Almost Die or anything, until later. and i imagine this stuff is going to help, but not in a “if this hadnt happened their relationship would be doomed” way. and again it is kinda wild to say that any of this might be required of them for any reason, they’re really going thru some shit w all this

It has become the mainstay of many developing economies in the world and is considered a relatively better option for earning foreign exchange, creating jobs, stimulating sluggish economies, reducing economies disparities, promoting good-will and intra-regional harmony besides being a benign activity both socially and culturally. The state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is blessed with immense potential for both domestic as well as international tourists (unfortunately international tourism is too low in AJK). There is number of locations which are untapped and can be developed as major tourist destinations, having all the natural as well as the cultural resources for attracting tourists. Some of the important natural sources have excellent climate, beautiful high altitude lakes, locations for adventure sports, wild life, trout fish, flora and fauna, alpine forest, natural waterfalls and streams, etc. For the cultural sources, the state has some of the most important famous religious shrines of Sufi saints, 6th kingdom of Sikhs (Muzaffarabad), Hindu Temples, historical monuments, plethora of local festivals, distinct cuisine, craftsmanship skills for intricate and fine woodwork, woolen carpets, textiles, paper machie, etc. The southern part of the State abounds with the biggest of the fresh water lake Mangla Lake. A large number of smaller lakes in the higher reaches of the mountain ranges in the north provide surprises for trekkers. The state is blessed with the potential of adventure, nature, culture, and history where every tourist has something to get himself entertained, enjoy, explore and experience. These potentials remained to be harnessed well so that the State can get maximum benefits through the development of tourism. Needless to say, Tourism is the lifeline of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and all possible efforts need to be undertaken for retaining, maintaining and sustaining it. Realizing the importance of domestic tourism for strengthening our State economy, to promote employment, create harmony at State and national level, enhance mutual understanding among our own people as well as the peoples of Pakistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK Tourism Department in consultation with all stakeholders and afterward organizing a two days long workshop by inviting prominent tourism experts from Pakistan/AJK (Public and Private stakeholders) has drafted the State Tourism Policy. The policy defined the role of the Government and the Private Sector in tourism, provided strategies to achieve the long and short term goals for the next 20 years and for onwards planning. The policy was formulated after thorough consultations with all stakeholders in the public and private sector and their valuable inputs have been incorporated in the policy to make the policy direction-oriented and acceptable to all stake-holders by devising an implementation mechanism to achieve its goals and targets. Tourism is one of AJ&K most important industry with huge potential. The scenic landmarks, hilly countryside and unique culture are magnets for visitors from all over the Pakistan and abroad. The tourism provides employment in our most rural communities. Tourism is an often underestimated but tremendously important sector in any country’s economy. This policy will provide opportunities to grow the sector, making it more productive, competitive and profitable. The policy contains an appropriate strategy combined with long-term plan, vision and branding Kashmir as “Best Tourist Destination”, through development of sustainable tourism. Augmenting the role of Government as facilitator and regulator while encouraging private sector with standardization and development of hospitality sector is main feature of this policy. Eco-friendly tourism will be promoted by using media and marketing tools for a responsible travel to natural areas, conserving the environment and improving the well-being of the local people with diversification of tourism products and services. AJK Tourism Corridor, a signature project of present government warrants Tourism Policy to travel along the conceptual path of Tourism Corridor. The AJK Tourism Policy 2019 a step towards the same direction. Quantity or numbers of tourists will be second priority while quality tourism will be the top priority of the policy. Accommodation & hospitality services both in public & private sector will be regulated & ensured up to the mark. Broadening of tourist destinations and products will be the hall mark of the policy. To prove tourism sector a best option as industry, innovative interventions will be introduced and implemented by involving tools of media. Capacity building of locals in tourism industry in collaboration with key organizations will be prioritized Objectives of the Policy have carefully been deliberated with enabling strategies and targeted outputs. We are on the verge of paradigm shift for which policy guides us towards right direction. Institutional as well as legal strength in the form of AJK Tourism Promotion Act, 2018, Rules and Acts to regulate hotels & restaurants, travel guides & travel agencies and operator manuals are in place for regulation in the sector. These shifts of public sector to act as facilitator & regulator and operator manuals are in place for regulation in the sector. This shift of public sector to act as facilitator & regulator only will boost the private sector involvement for boosting tourist activities in the State. I am confident that we can grow this potential industry and make the coming years the best ever for tourism in AJ&K. With this policy document, we are bringing whole new approach to tourism, removing barriers to growth and backing the industry all the way. The tourism sector is being rated as tourism industry in global economic discussions &seminars. Globally this industry is contributing 10% of global GDP. Pakistan’s contribution in this regard is only about 0.09% which is very low as per its potential. To tap these un-utilized resources Pakistan Government has geared up its strengths to harness tourism potential. AJK Tourism has also been declared as tourism industry which can create jobs and contribute to the prosperity for the area. Tourism Promotional Act 2018, Tourism Corridor document and some regulatory enactments strengthened its functioning to facilitate and encourage private sector to share their efforts in this regard. AJK needs a Tourism Policy as the umbrella document with its broader vision, clear mission & concrete enabling strategies. Owing to huge potential of tourism in AJK it needs a well-articulated & comprehensive Tourism Policy without which we are handicapped to move forward. A well laid-out tourism policy would demonstrate long term commitment of govt.in the sector. It may form the basis for shared understanding of tourism sector and coordinated planning and implementation strategies by all stakeholders. Keeping in view the importance of a comprehensive tourism policy framework in AJK, Tourism Department is presenting its first ever AJK Tourism Policy 2018”. It has broader vision of sustainable tourism with key targeted partner of public sector i.e tourists, private sector and local community. It has twelve broader objectives encompassing standardization, branding, marketing, private investment with infrastructural improvement and heritage conservation, diversification of tourist destination and effective coordination of all stakeholders. All these objectives have been annexed with comprehensive enabling strategies to act upon the targets. The master plan of AJK Tourism in the form of “Tourism Corridor” will remain the basis for overall guidance while treading through the path of tourism policy. Over the next five years, the policy is aimed to achieve its vision through string institutional framework, coordinated public private involvement and adequate resource mobilization. These dynamics have turned tourism into a key driver for socio-economic progress And whereas, tourism has become one of the major players in international commerce, and its at the same time one of the main income represensources for many developing countries. This global spread of tourism in industrialized and developed states has produced economic and employment benefits in many related sectors-from construction to e or teleagricultur-communications. The contribution of tourism to economic well-being depends on the quality and the revenues of the tourism offer. And whereas, it is necessary to develop, create and promote eco-tourism and to develop the tourism economy in prime destinations in AJ&K to a level that is comparable to that of Swat and Kaghan Valleys, to promote social and economic development of local communities and strengthen environmental education, to take measures to improve quality of visitor and to ensure that tourism does not contribute to deterioration of quality of landscape and environment; And whereas, existing laws/policies does not regulate the issues related to tourism in AJ&K and there is need to have a specific policy to provide simplest mechanism and to facilitate investors for development and promotion of tourism sector; And whereas, it is necessary to adopt legislative and regulatory measures for improvement and access to tourism destinations, amenities available to the visitors, maintain environmental quality and create awareness through increased dissemination of tourism information to the public; And whereas, to achieve the above purposes, it is necessary to frame a policy of the Government so as to obtain the desired objectives in this connection; Now, therefore in view of cabinet decision the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to approve Azad Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Policy, 2019 as follows: - Section 1 INTRODUCTION Tourism is one of the most rapidly growing industries in the world which appreciably adds to the GDP. It is an important source of income generation, jobs creation, poverty reduction, foreign exchange earnings, promotion of cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. It complements several allied services regarding transportation, communication, hospitality, catering, entertainment and advertising etc. Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) is blessed with abundant natural resources. It has hilly & mountainous topography characterized by deep ravines, rugged and undulating terrain, thick forests, fast flowing rivers & winding streams, lakes, waterfalls, valleys, beautiful landscapes, biodiversity and other tourist attractions. It has good number of archaeological & historical heritage and monuments which have withstood the ravages of time and other factors to unfold the ancient history of the State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The State, however, has not yet capitalized its tremendous tourism potential due to lack of market-oriented approaches, capacity issues, inadequate road infrastructure, lack of connectivity to various locations and deficient communication/ information and accommodation facilities. However, over the past four, five years, AJK Tourism has grown substantially. It provided a number of economic benefits and creates varied economic activities in different regions of AJK. It also contributes to tax revenue both directly through sales tax and indirectly through property, profits and income taxes. It provides employment, brings infrastructure improvements and help in regional development. It is imperative that if this potential sector flourishes, it would yield economic growth and income generation besides area development. It has been recognized that tourism is one of the potential areas to provide employment opportunities and to become driver of economy in a more inclusive manner. Keeping all this in view Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir has declared Tourism as an Industry for the area. Owing to such rapid development in Tourism Sector of AJK and taking it as a top govt. priority, it has become imperative to have a comprehensive Tourism Policy of AJK. In the next chapters attempt has been made to chalk out detailed objectives and strategies properly aligned with National Tourism Vision. It defines the role of government as facilitator and regulator while private sector’s role in tourism sector has also been elaborated. Institutional mechanism, Regulating authorities, official private contributions responsibilities and community participation has also been explained via this policy. This document is the product of recommendations from stakeholders, conferences, held during 2016. Three round table conferences Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Islamabad during 2018 and 2019 and thorough deliberations of government officials and private experts. Careful effort has been exerted to chalk out applicable strategies along with all objectives. Section 2 AJK TOURISM PROFILE GEO-CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN AJ&K The State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is considered as one of the most beautiful places on earth and have full potential in attracting tourists. It falls within the Himalayan orogenic belt and lies between longitude 73°-75° & latitude 33°- 36°. It comprises of an area of 5134 square miles (13,297 square kilometers). The elevation varies from 360 meters in the south to 6325 meters in the north. AJK is divided into ten administrative districts namely; Neelum, Muzaffarabad, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Poonch, and Sudhnoti in the north and Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber in the south. The south contains dry subtropical climate while the north has most temperate. AJK has a wide range of climatic conditions with significant variation in the rainfall pattern across different regions both in terms of amount and distribution. Average annual rainfall ranges from 1000 mm to 2000 However, precipitation in the northern districts is 30% to 60% in the shape of snow. In winter, snow line lies around 1200 meters while in summer it is 3300 meters. Temperature ranges between 20°C to 32°C in summer while minimum temperature in winter remains below Zero to 07°C. SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROFILE OF AJK: In AJK, rural population mostly depends on forestry, livestock, agriculture and non-formal employment to earn livelihood and majority lives under economic subsistence level. Some salient demographic and social indicators are: Rural/Urban population ratio is 88:12.Average family size according to MICS (2007-08) Survey is 6.7 members.Population density per square kilometer is 328.National average per capita income has been estimated to be 1512 US$According to Labor Force Survey unemployment rate is 14.4%.Literacy rate 74% (2015) has shown progressive trend. IDENTIFICATION OF LOCAL TOURISM SPECTRUM The AJK Government established the AJK Tourism Department for harvesting the existing tourism treasure through a well-established promotional and regulatory mechanism. The department was mandated to develop tourism for tourist facilitation by identifying different sites and providing basic infrastructure at various locations in AJK. The tourism development activities remained limited due to nonexistence of tourism policy, limited resources, inadequate technical know-how, absence of public-private partnership, frequent man-made & natural calamities and absence of basic infrastructure etc. Main focus of tourist influx remained Neelum Valley which attracts tourists on account of its scenic beauty. Around 8.4m tourists visited in all parts of AJK during 2010-2017. The north AJK is rich in snow bound areas and has the potential of paragliding, skiing, para trooping facilities etc. The tourist activities are however, dependent upon the border situation with India and in a number of time, the Neelum Valley road has to be closed on account of security reasons. However, the south of AJK consisting of Bhimber, Mirpur and Kotli has mainly heritage religious tourism potential all over the year. The area has rich religious and archeological tourism on account of shrines, historical monuments and water sports as vital attractions for the tourists besides availability of adequate lodging facilities facing Mangla Lake. With this huge of tourism well throughout Tourism policy along with doable enabling strategies is need of the hour to harness its full potential. Azad Kashmir has great potential for development of tourism. Its numerous picturesque spots, dense forests, winding rivers, turbulent foaming streams, majestic towering mountains, flora & fauna, bracing climate and historical & cultural heritage all together make it an excellent tourist resort. Some of the famous tourist potential destinations are as follow; Neelum Valley, Pearl Valley Jhelum Valley, Ghori Maar and Toli Peer Leepa Valley Bana Valley SudhanGali and Ganga Choti Mangla Lakes and Surrounding Haveli Kahuta Samahni Valley Neelum Valley Running through the Lesser Himalayas, the valley of the Neelum River (called Kishan Ganga before partition) is main attraction of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. This Valley is well recognized due to its snow-covered peaks, flowering trees, plants, and profusion of wildlife. Moreover waterfalls at about every 10 kilometer distance, plenty of gushing nullahs, hundreds of opportunities for mountain trail trekking and hiking and fascinating virgin lakes of about 72 in number all scattered in 242 kilometer of bow shaped Neelum Valley are its hallmarks. The area is covered with thick forest of pine, fir and deodar. “Sarwali Peak” with 6326 meters height, the highest peak of AJK, lies in Neelum valley. Adventure Tourism,eco-tourism& health tourism are special features of the valley. Moreover, like Kaghan Valley it is famous for fishing and angling activities in Neelum River and JagranNullah, which are stocked with trout fish. Sking resorts and golf courses are other an attraction for which valley provides best opportunities. Jhelum Valley: This is an ideal valley for both the domestic and international tourists. The curling river Jhelum passes through the high green mountains of this valley and joins the river Neelum at domel near Muzaffarabad city. A 59 Kms long metal road runs along the river Jhelum from Muzaffarabad to Chakothi, which is located adjacent to line of control (LOC). Buses & wagons ply on this route regularly while the route also used for Muzaffarabad to Sri Nagar trade. White water rafting, canoeing, boating and angling are salient opportunities of Jehlum River. High mountains with infrastructure of public sector guest houses can accommodate nature loving tourists. Passages towards Leepa valley and Sudhan Gali/Ganga Choti run through Jehlum Valley as well. Leepa Valley: This is the most fascinating & loveliest valley in Azad Kashmir. A metal road branches off for Leepa from Naily, 45 kilometers from Muzaffarabad, climbs over the ReshianGali 3200 meters high and then descends to 1677 meters on the other side into the Leepa Valley. The valley remains open for domestic tourists Only from May to November. Its Fields and gushing streams display the sight of mini Srinager. Chashma Veri Nag enters into Jehlum River from the same valley. Apple and walnut are famous products of the area. Old Kashmiri architecture of “Larri’ can be seen there with historical ages. SuddhenGali located at a height of 2134 meters, links Chikkar with District Hattian as well as with District Bagh. This scenic spot also serves as a base camp for those interested in hiking/Trekking to the nearby 3045 meters high mountain” Ganga Choti”.Buses & vans ply daily for Bagh, Chikkar &Muzaffarabad to this place. A tourist rest house & PWD rest house provide reasonable accommodation facilities to the tourists. Haveli Kahuta The widest valley of AJK is situated at distance of 162 kilometers from Muzaffarabad, capital of AJ&K and at distance of 250Kilometers from Rawalpindi. Its total area is 598 Sq. Kms. According to census of 1998, its total population is 0.112 million. Annual growth rate is 2.00%. Administratively this district has two subdivisions, Haveli and Khurshid Abad. It has many picnic points like Bedori Peak (5230 meters high from sea level). Hajji Peer Pass, Hillan valley and Ali Abad are presenting a most eye catcher view for tourists. People from all parts of the country come here in summer and spring seasons. The region is popular for all weather fruits, crops, dry fruits and pure Honey. Pearl Valley Rawalakot famous as pearl valley is situated in the heart of district Poonch. The altitude of this beautiful valley is 1615 meters. Situated at a distance of 76 kilometers from Kohala and 110 Kms from Rawalpindi, it is linked with Rawalpindi/Islamabad via Azad Pattan and Dhalkot and with Muzaffarabad via Kohallah by black top roads. The construction of GoiNullah road between Rawalakot and Azad Pattan has reduced the distance and journey time considerably. During summer the place becomes full of green grass and beautiful flowers including many varieties of Roses. Rawalakot offers very pleasant climate during the summer. The city has some good hotels and private guest houses that provide comfortable and enough accommodation. Community participation in hospitality hotel and adventure tourism sector took the valleys image to a remarkable level. Its pleasant climate and easy access from other regions makes it a favorite tourist destination. BanjosaLake is just 20 kilometers from Rawalakot at an altitude of 1981 meters. Its picturesque beauty and impressive surrounding is compelling and attract tourists to reach here and enjoy the nature. An aroma of wild roses and white phulwari gives it a special name of perfumed valley. Ghori Maar and ToliPir Ghori Maar is situated at a distance of 30 Kilometers ahead of Rawalakot. A fair-weather road via Khai Gala leads to this place. On reaching Ghori Maar, one can explore the fascinating beauty over-looking the sub valleys of Rawalakot&Bagh. AJK Tourism Department provides reasonable accommodation facilities to visitors here camping sites are also available there. The road from Ghori Maar leads to Tolipir a place that offers calm atmosphere with vast green meadows stretching over a big area. The place holds the potential to mesmerize visitors. That is why the most frequently visited place of the valley. Khoiratta/Valley Benah About 38 kilometers from Kotli ahead, a road leads to Khoiratta. Khoiratta and the nearby area "Valley Benah provides remarkable attraction to tourists because of the remains of gardens and fountains of the older times. From four kilometers ahead of Khoiratta is famous shrine of “Mai Totti Sahiba” which is visited by hundreds of people daily. Caves with beautiful carvings called “Paryoon ka Kotha” (Fairy houses) are wonder of that area. Hindus’ religious spots like bi naara, shamshan ghatt etc. are other attraction of the valley. Rising gradually towards the high mountains of Poonch district. Its climate is more moderate than that of Mirpur due to the sub-mountainous topography. Mirpur and Mangla Lake District Mirpur is located at the extreme South of the State and linked with Pakistan and the districts of Azad Jammu Kashmir through several routes. District Mirpur comprises partly plain and partly hilly areas. It’s hot climate and other geographical conditions closely resemble to those of Jhelum and Gujrat, the adjoining districts of Pakistan. The people of this area are basically agriculturists. During the last four decades a large number of people from this district have gone abroad,(about 1.4m) especially to United Kingdom. Today they are the major foreign exchange earning source of Pakistan as it adjoins the industrial cities of Pakistan. Mangla is a small beautiful modern town. It is situated at a distance of 110 kilometers from Islamabad and 15 kilometers short of Mirpur city. The construction of Mangla reservoir having perimeter of 100 kilometers and surrounded by Mangla Fort and Ramkot Forts of Mughal period have turned this place into an attractive tourist spot. Mangla has special attraction for the tourists coming on short visits because of its proximity to Jhelum, Lahore and Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Water sports, raft visit and boating are its attractions. Samahni Valley It is located 17 kms in the North of Bhimber City and 30km in the North-East of Mirpur. The valley is guarded byhigh mountains on all sides, offers breathtaking and mesmerizingnatural scenes to its visitors, waterfalls come down mountainslopes as well as streams and nalas of crystal clear waters. Themountains across the whole valley dressed in jungles of pine treesadd an extra touch to the stunning view. The valley holds a peacefuland tranquil atmosphere with pollution free environment from oneend to the other. Its mangoes are very famous all over Pakistan. Huge orchards of mangoes and mango parties during summer attract a lot of visitors there Peacocks in Bandala Smahni roaming freely in forests and many mughal remains of dak banglas and saraees are its other attractions. The entire valley of Samahni is approximately 35 km long and 8 km wide, stretching from Chawlian to Behmlain the West. The valley's inhabitants are simple, peace-loving and law abiding. The ideal time to visit the valley is in March & April and then in July, August and September. Since the vegetation and the scenery during these months are at its best. To conclude Tourism sector of AJ&K is blessed with rich cultural heritage, centuries old civilizations, natural resources with scenic locations, sites for adventure tourism, cultural and traditional attractions, best opportunities for eco tourism, religious tourism, medicine tourism, winter and summer tourism and heritage tourism. However to harness this huge baggage of opportunities and potential we need to do as per following:- Involve comprehensive and doable tourism policy and further regulations.Create an enabling environment for investors and marketing actors,Involve local communities for sustainable tourism,Invest in infrastructure and service delivery mechanisms,Ensure supply of professionally trained human resources,Attract tourists through focused marketing/promotion and provide quality services. For the above mentioned purpose next chapter starts with an articulated and comprehensive tourism policy to be followed in next at least five years. Section 3 TOURISM POLICY Vision. Provision of enabling environment and best facilitation for tourists, creating investment opportunities for private sector in harmony with the environmental ,cultural and social values While keeping intact empathy towards custodian communities Objectives. To ensure tourism being declared as an “Industry” will be the source of income generation, employment opportunities and main investment potential in AJK. It will be made top priority sector of AJK with exploration of potential allied industries/business to strength the economy of AJK.To brand AJK as “Best Tourist Destination” by diversified tourist destination each with its own special features. iii. To ensure quality services, food, transport and approach roads. Standardization and regulation of hospitality sector and well maintained communication transport sector be ensured.To create conducive business environment with legal authentication and basic infrastructure development. Govt. as facilitator and regulator should augment the private sector to encourage up gradation of infrastructure and promotion of new initiatives. To seek local as well as foreign investment and donor funding/technical assistance to upgrade and develop tourism infrastructure ,which may lead to economic prosperity of the area.To ensure uniform and harmonious tourism development, diversification of tourism products, services and destination be ensured.To chalk-out an effective and comprehensive media and marketing strategy for branding and promoting new initiatives in tourism sector of AJK.To attach Heritage/Religious Tourism with overall recreational tourism promotion. Conservation, preservation and development of Heritage sites are coupled with overall tourism promotion.Coordination of all relevant departments be strengthen to portray the vision of Govt. that Tourism is the responsibility of whole nation which needs complementary assistance from other relevant department as well.To ensure inclusive economic growth with full participation, collaboration and sense of ownership of local community. Community mobilization via active involvement of local places be ensured. Enabling Strategies After chalking out broader & comprehensive objectives in line with Mission & Vision of the Tourism Policy, concrete enabling & doable strategies are needed. Following are the strategies and doable actions attached with each above mentioned objective Tourism as an Industry can be main source of income in AJK:- Tourism has been declared as Industry by AJK Government so it needs a practical approach to tap its potential job creation capacity. It also complements a lot of related sectors supporting tourism sector. Tourism itself is a big source of job creation in service sector. However allied industries like hotels, resorts, food beverages, sports, artisans of handicraft and many other value chains can be created if tourism flourished in the area. Training needs and syllabus be finalized in consultation of the tourism department & AJK TEVTA Branding Kashmir as best tourist destination:- To match to vision with its overall image creation branding Kashmir as best tourist destination is direly needed. This can be done with proper planning & area-wise identification of Specialties.To achieves this objective following are: Strategies Branding & marketing of tourism facilities Area-wise branding with specific slogans and specialty of that area. Specific product development of that area. Any other planning related to branding pyramid In consultation with public and private experts to develop national as well as regional (area wise) slogans for AJK Tourism Declare two to three years as “Tourism Years” Actions: To brand Tourism related areas and products a comprehensive area-wise report on a format including the information about specialty of that area, its unique flora and fauna, specific tourist attraction sites and any story or myth related to that area be developed by the Tourism Department and marketed via media. Agriculture, Forest Small Industries Departments be requested to identify or establish Farm Tourism spots, birds watching places, protected areas and handicraft bazaars in different areas of AJK. Tourism Department will market those spots via print, electronic and social media. 3.4. 3. . Standardization and Regulations of tourism Sector: The research undertaken to find out the satisfaction level of the tourists indicates that the attitude of those involves in providing services to the tourists plays an important role to meet the tourist satisfaction level. The strategy of service delivery rests on provision of quality services along with standardization, which provides impetus for better prospects for customer satisfaction. Adoption of certificate courses for professional qualification to upgrade services is another aspect of this strategy. It also demands raising awareness among stakeholders to ensure total quality management Therefore, it is important to develop standard protocols for handling the tourists. The protocols be disseminated amongst hospitality service providers. Well behaved and uniformed manpower operating transport facilities is the first step to interact with the tourists. While same type of service delivery is needed in resorts, hotels, rest houses and tuck shops. Following are some enabling strategies in this regard. Buildings by laws specific to an area be in place at appropriate office and ensured to be followed in letter and spirit. 3.4.4: Augmenting the role of Government as facilitator and encouraging private investment in tourism Similar to the planning strategy, the investment strategy stresses on removing all bottlenecks and skepticism by addressing the doubt and concerns as certification of investment. All the stakeholders of Tourism sector must fulfill set criteria containing certain pre requisites and standards on quality of tourism services and facilities. There must a legal mechanism to engage private sector to contribute in tourism sector of AJK. Incentives as well as one window operation should be available for maximum investment by private sector. The strategy will suggest giving incentives specific to area, site, or creation of tourism activities. The government has also developed tourism promotion Act, 2018 containing incentive on tourism endeavors. Following may be some strategies in the direction of private investment. Strategies: Special legislation (enactment, rules, policy etc.) for provision of one window operations for tourism investors. Develop tourism promotion and development policies containing incentives for tourism activities. Integrate procedures and inducement leading to diversification of the tourism activities spread over the whole year rather than single season. In place mechanism containing adequate room for technical assistant and financial support/grants to improve tourism efforts toward different tourism segments including cultural and historical heritage, winter, summer and faith and tourism, water sport, melas/fairs, etc. Supporting businesses that directly benefit from tourism such as handicraft, furniture, agriculture, food processing etc. These may be facilitated with easy loans from the banks Considering the peculiar geographical conditions of the region, government will give priority for small and medium level investments. An investment facilitation cell will be created in AJK Tourism Department to provide necessary support to the investor’s tourism projects. Government will also offer land on long lease on subsidized rates for tourism projects in less developed areas. Tourism Sector should certify all companies/entrepreneurs inclined to provide investment counseling and consultancy services to enhance the quality of tourism projects prior to their working in this sector. 3.4.5: Diversification of Tourists destinations and Product Specification. Destination and product diversification are direly needed to harmonize all areas of AJK, provision of equal opportunities to flourish and managing the tourist influx amicably. A product is defined in tourism "anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use, or consumption that might satisfy a ‘want or need’. It includes physical objects, services, persons, places, organization, and ideas .Tourism being a service sold to the customers, tourist experience is the product, which is intangible, and non-storable. The quality of the tourist experience as a product is directly proportional to the quality of the service a tourism business provides The strategy for diversion focus on tourism diversification based on through analysis of various types/ area of tourism would be help to determine future priorities of AJK Tourism. Following are some objectives in this regard:- Objectives; Improved accessibility to prominent tourist destinations in collaboration of C&W, LG&RD and other relevant departments. In order to ensure equitable distribution of tourist foot-fall the off-beat destinations be developed with the help of private sector. Promotion of Adventure tourism, heritage tourism eco tourism, health, thermal tourism, rural tourism, herbal tourism and sports tourism etc. Tourist resorts, camping sites, polo, golf courses. Chairlift, Cable Cars, water sports, trekking, wildlife, caravan culture and heli-pots. Various facets of adventure tourism like White Water Rafting, Roller coaster, Bonji Diving and Zip line etc Circuit theme like heritage and religious circuits etc. be framed and specific circuits be declared for the tourist. : Health and Thermal Tourism AJK is gifted ample opportunity to harvest potential of health and thermal tourism in its southern regions. The already identified tourism potential at TATTA Pani shall be evolved into regional destination having thermal facilities and cultural them and will be integrated with other alternative tourism types to incorporate faith, cultural and natural heritage of the neighboring areas of Mirpur, and Poonch. 12 Strategies: The objective of developing thermal tourism facility is to: Redesign it keeping in view the existing infrastructural as well as the additional requirements for converting it as a unique health and thermal tourism destination along with Tourism conservation and Development area and Tourism center with focus on quantity and variety of good thermal spring. Offered potential site could be for development through private sector. Initiate some specific interventions in extended form corresponding to the emerging need of health and thermal tourism keeping in view the provision for development of area already made. Launch extensive promotional moves to harvest the tourists community desiring to benefit from the natural endowment at Tatta Pani; Actions: Appropriate promotional campaign should be launched through symposia, seminars, and promotional program at various levels-provincial and national-for sensitize the private sector and general society. Adequate mobility by linking with Tourism corridors along with appropriate accommodation should be ensured at the sites b) : Ecotourism and Plateu Tourism Environmental impact assessment is part of all types of private intervention to ensure promotion of eco-friendly tourism. Our objective is to ensure environment friendly tourism activities and infrastructure intervention. The Ecotourism & Plateau Tourism also needs to be promoted in AJK with an aim at promoting this kind of tourism: Strategies: Planed development Ecotourism and Plateau Tourism keeping in view the existing and additional requirement pertaining to Ecotourism and Plateu tourism activities. Develop ecotourism and plateau tourism of better quality tourism infrastructure related to the activities catering these type of tourism. Map main travel routes, destinations, sites/areas, intermediate stations and substation spots at first step and thereafter, undertake planning initiatives based on the scenario to be adopted for certain areas/region hosting nature tourism, activities and events. Set up action plan and implement it for actualizing adventure and ports tourism through public and private participation. Actions: Extend training to people working in the tourism potential areas in developing touristic product and souvenir making, services quality and small business activities. Encouraged the local community in the tourist potential areas to develop local product indigenously representing their ethnographic and ecological features. Impart training in hospitality, catering, housekeeping, etc., to the people interest in working in the tourism sector. Ensure Appropriate arrangements at entry point of the tourist potential areas to facilitate tourist through site maps with different routes, regional peculiarities, and it itinerary to the tourist sites along with accommodation areas with parking plots. In place adequate arrangements for completion of fountains, toilets, shelters, distance and directional signs and configuration of trekking routes and news vehicle passages, identification of auto workshops and health facility along with linkage to contact in emergency in the areas reserved for natural tourism. Make appropriate environmental layout arrangement in the area meant for nature tourism to enhance tourist attraction on their route with falls, interesting trees, rocky mountains, sporting and recreational areas, camping filed, roadside restaurants and tuck shops, etc. Impart adequate training to the local community in hospitality and guesthouse operation and management. C): Winter Tourism AJK endowed with lot of options for winter tourism in its northern region spread over 5 district needs to be explored and exploited. For harvesting this potential a comprehensive exercise is required to ascertain the potential and thereafter, plan activities as per suitability and appropriateness leading to certain targets. Strategies: The appropriate sites/areas identification with sound suitability locations for different tourist activities (winter, thermal, cultural, mountainous, nature etc.,) should clearly be marked out and a unified approach in treatment and their development subsequently. Youth will be proactively engaged while promoting winter tourism to encourage them to learn and play this kind of sport. The area for such tourism should be developed in collaboration with the local departments (land allocation, etc) and infrastructure should be provided by the Tourism department in collaboration with the private sector. Actions: There should be a master plan for promoting winter tourism, a unique activity in AJK as per international standard. Access to the tourism sites will be provided through adequate road link or chair lift connection. Sufficient space for boarding, landing waiting and parking along with recreational facilities should be provided. Scrutinize the distance between accommodation facilities and ski runs to make appropriate arrangements for direct link among these. The winter sport site should provide with temporary boarding lodging facilities sufficient to cater the need of ski run at the time of operating at full capacity. The sites should be enabled to meet the municipal needs covering electcity, waste rand sanitation, garbage picking arrangements, crews, etc. The road link between ski adjutant town and other tourist sites/points be developed/improved instantly. Only there is a need to develop some basic civic facilities while accommodation and conference halls/ venues could be hired from educational institutions in the vicinity during summer as well as in winter. Prepare introductory material and brochures for promotional campaigns within AJK and outside it. Proactively initiate promotion and marketing activities at each area/site with an aim of clear identification of tourism activities happening at different places. Tourism Department AJK has to take lead in promotion of educational activities, sensitization moves and training efforts seeking insight from the areas already undertaking such initiatives. Constantly impart input to the course content of training classes and along with the educational material already in practice in education/training institutions to make it more meaningful. An interactive and dynamic Tourism portal be developed and live booking.com be ensured with close collaboration of private hospitality sector. Enable Tourism Department AJK to interact proactively with the institutes imparting tourism related educational/training in order to align the course contacts/syllabi and training modules/material according to AJK’s qualitative and quantitative needs as well as to improve the skills and capabilities of graduates joining tourism through regular training. 3.4.7: Identification and Conservation of heritage assets and religious sites 16 Faith Historical and Cultural tourism are the popular branches of tourism and AJK quite rich in this potential, which comprises of plenty of tourism potential-shrines, mosques, Mandir/Temples, Forts, Ruins etc. In its district Mirpur, Bhimber Kotli, Poonch, Bagh and Muzaffarabad and beside a few other attractive spots in these and neighboring districts. The faith tourism also helps to upgrade cultural and historical heritage along with health and thermal tourism potential manifold due to its wider spread and greater connection with targeted community in the State and adjacent areas of Punjab and KPK.These will also get popularity in the oversea population and thus, scope of promoting international tourists having Kashmiri origin will also be enhanced. Strategies: Identification, protection and rehabilitation of the archaeological assets of AJ&K. Mapping of archaeological and historical religious cites Channelizing the expertise of private organization for conservation of heritage sites. Establishment of cultural historical and environmental museum. Actions: Restore historical buildings and improve accommodation and other facilities at these sites through joint efforts of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department. Section 4 INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING Institutional strengthening of AJK tourism department is prerequisite to make it through alternative capacity building initiatives an efficient and leading organization capable to lead professionally that could provide dynamism and check vulnerability in the area due to couple of reasons including natural and manmade calamities. A sound organizational set up capable to identify rich potential sites, promote tourism initiatives and regulate the tourism sectoral activities coupled with good governance practices in AJK. This includes constitution of specific site/ village / destinations specific committees or council at local, regional and state levels. To start with broader vision along with comprehensive mission and targeted strategies legislation is the first step to be accomplished. Apart from the Tourism Policy, AJK Tourism Department has enacted so far following legislations:- AJK Tourism Promotion Act, 2018.AJK Hotel & Restaurant Act &Rules,2018AJK Travel Agencies Act & Rules,2018AJK Tour Guide Act & Rules,2018 Having strong legal backing AJK Tourism department is all set to further strengthen the institutional mechanism of the department to get all the objectives implemented with the help of enabling strategies we need some special arrangements as part of institutional set-up. Regulatory authority, R&D Wing, Archaeology Wing, Investors, facilitation wing and addition of some more I.T professional are also being made part of the policy. Regulatory Authority: Keeping in view the immense tourism potential of the State, the developmental initiatives both through public and private sector require immediate necessary steps by the GoAJ&K so that a comprehensive and viable policy plan could be implemented during establishment of tourism infrastructure. A regulatory system will be put in place for registration, certification, control, inspection, and application of punitive measures such as fines and cessation of operating in case of violations. Regulation will also require a coordinated effort with participation from the Tourism Department, Environmental Protection Agency, Police, Labour Department, Fisheries and Wildlife Department, and Food Department. The establishment of AJK Tourism Regulatory Authority being a government body, is aimed at to minimize the bureaucratic hurdles and to;- Facilitate communication between the government and the private sector about tourism sector-related challenges.Grant license to establish hotel/Motel/Guest House and Rest House following the criteria under approved legal & regulatory framework.Grant license to travel agents/tour operators following the criteria under approved legal &regulatory framework.Offer incentives and concessions to private sector for motivation to invest in tourism business in AJK.The AJK TRB shall have representation from all the concerned Public and Private stakeholders.The Board should discuss tourism related issues concerned with different ministries and ensure quick decision making to facilitate investors interested in tourism.It is recommended to strengthen AJK Tourism Department to cope with the new challenges and to institutionalize the reforms. Looking at the expanded role of AJK Tourism Department, following functions should be added in the organization:Research wing should be created in the Department for developing tourism databases, statistics and monitoring trends.Establishment of archaeological & cultural wings is highly recommended.There should be some in-house expertise of IT available in the Department to act as “one window opportunity” to make maximum use of technology for tourism promotion and tourist facilitation.There should be an Investor Facilitation wing in the Department with the responsibility of identifying investment opportunities, developing feasibility studies and providing all the required information and facilitation to the investors interested in tourism sector projects.The existing wing of Tourist Information Center (TIC) should be strengthened by adding more human resource with professional expertise. CONSTITUTION OF AJK TOURISM REGULATORY BOARD (AJK TRB): (1). The constitution of AJK Tourism Regulatory Board(AJK TRB) shall be made by the Chief Executive/Prime Minister, GoAJ&K; (2). The “AJK TRB” to promote, facilitate, coordinate, and oversee the proper execution of tourism developmental and promotional plans shall consist of the following,- i. Secretary Tourism & Archeology Chairperson ii. Additional Secretary Home Member iii. Additional Secretary S&GD (Regulation) Member iv. Director General Tourism Member/Secretary v. Rep of AJK Hotels Association Member vi. Extra Typology Vol #2 - 1. Introduction/ The Book

So, for this installment of Extra Typology”, I consulted one Matthew Campling, or rather, his book “Essence and the Enneagram”, for another take on the typology system known as “Essence Type”, “Planetary Body Type” or “12 Type Enneagram”.

I chose this book because it was one of the more popularized version of the system, likely to be what most are working from, as well as a fairly generalized version with less esoterics stuff - Or so I thought.

The author catches themselves repeatedly having moment where they’re like, “This would lead too far/is not the subject here” and tries to keep it brief as to not beat a reader over the head, but they still very much refer to & rely on it less artfully than the other person did, and seem to think

For example they argue that it has to be 6 (main) types because of some cool numerology trick he can do but if I get basic real numbers you understand that a number with a repeating series of numerals after the decimal point really isn’t that special and that you could find one for lots & lots of number sequences... Ultimately it’s not a huge essential characteristic of the universe but an artifact from using decimal numbers, in, say, base 60 (which the summerians used) or 12 (which actually makes more sense because it has more divisors) the digits would be quite different.

They also have this fishy sounding bit about how speaking speed supposedly impacts your mindset - Like, I’m sure forcing yourself to talk differently to actually reach a different mindset is effective in the sense all suggestion & conscious effort is, but, how would this even hold up against cultural differences & different language sentence melodies?

I have to remind myself that non-nerds tend to be a lot more ‘fuzzy’ about this as I was when I was younger so a lot of this might actually impress a casual reader who doesn’t have a very structured, mechanistic grasp on science or psychology & thus might be more easily impressed by this (but probably understands a lot about som of the bajillion things I’M clueless about, don’t get me wrong)

But even when it comes to the material itself, I am retroactively very glad I also bought the other book. It was more self-aware about the esoterics and even when it comes to the actual material itself, it was more in-depht and mechanistic, giving a dynamic understanding of the reasons behind reaction & how to deal with them, the inner dynamis rather than just stating pros cons & traits.

Also for a school of thought espousing nonjudgement and a system supposed to work through nonjudgement (instead of becoming annoyed at ppl or yourself you accept that its just their nature) they could do a bit better on the nonjudgemental part - I mentioned that in the last book, the Venusians kinda got the short end of the stick, being somewhat portrayed as bland & boring (and I suppose some of them can be), but even so it (if perhaps a tad condescendingly) aknowledges their value & explains the inner mechanics quite illustratively, and the author admitted that they might be a tad biased as a Jovian.

In this book, the short end of the stick goes to the Lunar and Lunar-Venus (sadly - their webside made the latter out to sound quite interesting), which is a bit unfortunate as I’m a Lunar myself & the descriptions were such that it’d be hard to recognize myself in them if I hadn’t read the other book.

I mean I get that to some extent this whole exercise is to be about self-discovery & observation/reflection and that involves swallowing or at least contemplating the occasional bit of negative feedback, pitfalls & warning so I try to at least evaluate the info & will try to present the author’s POV here but at the same time there’s some other info or other perspectives I know to be valid which suggests that at least some bits are unfair -

If we were to put this in mbti terms, it’s an ExxJ’s perspective or misunderstanding of IxxP types, and, hey, I used to mindunderstand EJs too as a teenagers, thinking they seemed rather frantic & crazy driven to do superficial things that don’t really matter even self-destructive things, doesn’t help that EJs, are rather prominent & visible in society and, in the case of ESJs, very common & thus seen as ‘normal’ so I was aware of a difference there perhaps also because as a 4-fixer I’m sensitive toward noticing differences so I’d wonder, “Am I just more woke than most peeps?”, “Am I somehow defective?” and the usual teenager shtick.

That said it’s quite possible for an IxxP, especially one who’s more 4/5 than 6/9, to be perfectly happy as & even seek out the outcast or subculture role & eventually I grew up & made my peace with it. Eventually I realize that some of the EJs really want what they are working for and that what I want is just different without there needing to be a value judgement. (After all what’s wrong with them doing what they want as long as they’re ethical? Who am I to say it’s a bad goal? It’s just their version of being themselves. Conversely I can’t complain about the consequences of what I strive towards even if its different from society’s pervasive EJ values. And while there is harmful bias to some extent EJs are pervasive because they care about making themselves heard in broad society more than we do.)

I guess this is only fair after the privilege that most mbti stuff is written by fellow Ne users to the chagrin of the sensors. If most mbti-cians are intuitives, then most Essence Type writers tend to be Jupiters with Mild mars admixture. Just because the perspective is a bit skewed doesn’t mean that the information, though presented through a lens & requiring a grain of salt, is useless tho, not as long as the reader is willing to think for themselves, ‘excavate’ the pure observations & bring their own perspective to it.

Indeed the strenght of this book is that it specifically considers a lot of contexts that these differences could come to bear in (albeit briefly & bare bones-y) & preents them in an applicable manner - work, romance, friendship, leisure etc.

At first I thought this book would be my primary source with the previous one bought more for entertaining curiosity and having different perspectives & interpretations of the same system, but I think the other book is ultimately better, especially since this one doesn’t really spare you the esoterics. The other seemed aware that different typologies are tools whereas this one goes out of its way to argue the ‘corectness’ which might be interesting for the sorts of people who like to argue theology but doesn’t really impress or appear relevant to me personally, it’s a “how many angels fit on the tip of a needle” type question. - There’s also the potential POV that the 9gram describes the potential masks or distortions ppl have whereas this one describes what’s underneath, though I do not personally subscribe to it, my opinion being that a great deal of personality is inborn but what version of it you become, how much potential you tap & how much you accept yourself is up to nurture & choice/will.

I appreciate that the author tried to make it widely understandeable without dumbing it down, but it was a bit... hm... to see them talk about the “great important deep wisdom” they shared with us when it was pretty simplistic... You can tell they heard it fro their esoterics “teacher” and were mighty impressed but they seem to be telling us this impressiveness more than they’re suceeding at showing it.

Simplicity is IMHO one of this system’s strenghts but the thing here is that, I guess, the author tried to explore the “everyone lowkey has all types/energies/human nature aspects” to come up with a dynamicity akin to what some other systems have like tritypes or mbti function dynamics.

Like the previous book it supposes that the main types are more like “pots” we all draw from to some degrees, some of us being pretty clearly in one and others being hybrid types, & ut tries to get into when we use each energy & how we could benefit from more flexible approprite responses - so far so good, that’s ultimately what all typology tells us (watch yourself & consider if your usual course of action is wise here) but I’m not sure if it made sense to characterize this dynamicity or reaction range as the other types, or, I see how it’s an useful shorthand but the specific way the author did it, their dynamicity system wasn’t that good, they failed to really connect it to common RL experiences outside of just sprouting their jargon & interpreting things in that light which gave it less explanatory power and, even worse, led to the types being rather pidgeonholed, especially in terms of life areas & situations, as opposed to the whole, interconnected picture the other book painted, depicting friendship, romance, family & work related to the basic principles of the type in which some are simply navigated more naturally & confidently than other.

From the descriptions here you’d wonder why the Lunar is even an intellectual Type, the whole picture of “nocturnal moody strong introvert” is distorted through a lens that mostly characterizes it as being childlike and self-absorbed & basically being everyone’s inner brat who doesn’t have “real” insights but surely thinks they do, like, it does happen that people, and often lunar-ish people, do that sometimes but this guy just throws it out as a blanket statement, and who the hell wants to be infantilized, or identify with something like that?

I suppose phrasing it like this is gonna appeal to the proud disney fans & the like & the guy phrased it IMHO a lot better in his youtube video (”Some people aren’t meant to grow up”... though really, isn’t it more that grownup for us is something different than for a Venusian or how society equates “grow up” with conform? ) Of course if they read this they’d probably think of what an utterly Lunar thing to say that is, but, I liked the other guy’s approach to vices that treated the serious pitfalls as optional & described in a structural manner how they coul both arise from & distort the actual essential self.

He does say that each type acts out its own “interpretation” of the other types/energies/reaction styles, but I think an elaboration of what these perspectives seen through the lens your “home” type (his terminology) specifically look like (in terms of quality, skew & attitude and not just situation) would have gone a long way to make his constructs “flow”.

Adding to that, is that this version doesn’t include the Solar type (and indeed associates the jovian with the sun) - at first I thought that since they were popularizing it they thought it sounded too “snowflakey” (I disdain that word/concept of it as an insult tho), but now I think it was more because of their numerology trick they thought was indicative of why there should be only 6.

Part of why I checked out the other book was that I felt Solar was describing something specific & here it seems to have been kind of absorbed into Lunar or Jupiter-Lunar, further making the Lunar a bit flakier & harder to grasp and I thought it was an useful distinction (I am most definitely NOT a Solar, at least not beyond the everyone-has-all-potentials level.)

This situation-reducing works even worse for the hybrid types, which, for one thing, are at times described rather differently than they are in the other book - I’ll still present the descriptions in case hybrid individual identify better with these versions but overall I still think it’s better to just describe the main energies so people, who are all individuals anyways can pick & discern in which aspects & situations they act more like one or more like the other type; Surely better than how this book sorta ends up characterizing the Lunar-Venus hybrid as being all about irresponsible promiscuous fucking & then in every list of situations lits that as a factor or It’s kinda one-dimensional & dissapointing since it sounded kinda interesting at first.

Kinda like the cognitive functions where you can say that you use some more then others & some very easily (though I don’t think the essence energies & the functions can be equated, they seem to describe different things, despite some overlaps; The functions seem to further describe & take place in entirely in the neocortex/ “intellectual center” albeit taking in information from below whereas either variety of ennagram seems to look more at different makeups for the whole of the psyche including ppl who have most of the emphasis/trust in other parts than the intellect, though ultimately the distinctions are somewhat illusory especially where “higher” emotions or “quick” reasoning come in.

One thing the author does sucessfully showcase with a good example is that he is sorta describing something specific & that the system has interesting distinctions - For exaple generally, describing someone as “warm” or “kind” would be treated as almost synonymous descriptions of general niceness, but in the context of this, you average Lunar person could be described as “kind” but would be too aloof to be described as “warm”, whereas a Venusian will be very apparently “warm” but may not necessarily be described as “kind”, whereas someone to whom both adjectives apply is probably a Jovian type.

Before we get into the actual content, I want to again stress that this is gonna be my interpretation of the material through the lens of what I understood or thought important or wanted to “excavate/filter out”. If you’re seriously interested in this you can get the book yourself & if you don’t have the time or money to do that, just be aware that this is my interpretation not the commonly accepted be all end all truth.
