Middle of the night post because I cannot sleep.
I think more people need to acknowledge the fact that Sniper probably looks older than he is because his organs are literally failing and he probably lives off of caffeine and painkillers. (Aside from him living in a van and roughing it out in nature probably without any sunscreen)
Not enough people talk about this imo. It's always "haha funny piss man" never "Oh shit, he's taking medicine that literally enlarges his kidneys and is killing him slowly"
Proof: panel from the comic The Insult That Made a "Jarate Master" Out of Sniper
My man is literally dying.

The more I think about the whole Tentoo/Rose thing the more annoyed I get so I'm putting y'all through it too.
Rose didn't want to go back to Earth 2. She didn't. She spent all that time (we don't know exactly how long, but if we base it on real world timing of the seasons, at least 2 years) trying to get back to her Earth, back to her Doctor. She didn't want to go back, but the Doctor didn't even consult her about that. She was unceremoniously booted out back to the parallel Earth and told to babysit the Metacrisis Doctor, who was for all intents and purposes, essentially a biological mistake. And a genocidal one at that.
The Doctor tries to dress it up prettily for Rose, saying that "Oh well this one can be in love with you and live a human life with you, etc etc" but really, it wasn't about giving Rose a happy ending. He doesn't even say goodbye, he just leaves while she's too distracted snogging the new guy to notice (which, by the way, what the fuck?).
He also tries to guilt her into staying on Earth 2 with the Metacrisis by invoking nostalgia. "That's me, when we first met." Basically, "Get on with it, fix him like you fixed me."
It's not sweet, it's not romantic, it's not sacrificial. It's insulting.
And that's not even getting into the complexities of the metacrisis itself as a biological fact. Donna's mind started to burn almost as soon as they left the parallel earth. Human with a Time Lord consciousness. Gee, who else fits that bill I fucking wonder? So how can we actually know that Rose and Tentoo actually lived happily together? How can we know that his mind didn't start burning out as well? He's human. He's got one heart, no regenerative abilities, a human lifespan, and a Time Lord consciousness. He didn't have another Time Lord around who could block/erase the memories.
So, not only did the Doctor lock Rose away on a parallel Earth with no way back, against her wishes and with no thought whatsoever to the consequences, but he also locked her away with a version of himself that most likely died horribly and painfully very shortly afterwards.
And all of that, just to avoid guilt. To avoid accountability for what he had created.

I really thought the Manifest fandom would be more into Michaela. And I mean her alone. I know there's a lot of ship wars about who she should be with but what about just Michaela? Like.. I'm in love with her!!! She's really cute and pretty. She's so beautiful!!! And she's so strong and smart always solving the callings and literally breaking down a wall!! And she can also be kinda awkward like a teenage girl which is adorable!! But also she's really funny and always has these little sarcastic comments she throws into conversation and they always work so well with the situation. Like every time she's with Eagan they're basically just roasting each other the whole time, it's so fun!!!! Come on people Michaela Stone is amazing and wayy more than just a ship so please let's talk about her more!!!!<333

The dark world thought. Loki keeps calling thor brother (mostly to annoy him) in the movie. idk why but i was hoping at least once thor would scream at him and say "STOP CALLING ME THAT"
Note to self: watch Thor 2: The Dark World. See, I think it's the other way round, and my answer involves thoughts I had about the thorki fic I inisist I will never write so fair warning for that BUT of the two it's Loki who's far more likely to insist they're not really brothers and shouldn't call each other that. A thought I had from the first film and then failed to post (I don't post ALL my thoughts on tumblr! Just most of them!) was that the 'worthy' aspect of Mjolnir is very vague and Loki would spend hours and hours trying to pin down 'what does worthy mean,' and utterly convinced that even if he isn't going to fit the criteria there must be a loophole somewhere in the wording that he can use. Whereas Thor probably hasn't spent much time worrying about that - either you're worthy or you're not and the magic hammer just knows which it is. Somehow.
Similarly I don't think Thor cares much about whether he and Loki were technically born to the same parents or even if they're the same species, because they are brothers, they've always been brothers, how can they not be brothers? Meanwhile Loki's upended life largely revolves around the fact that pedantically, legally, whateverly, they aren't really brothers and they never were. Which is why he's open to things getting incestuous now while Thor is still repulsed by his own unbrotherly yearnings. Don't be daft, Thor, we're obviously not brothers, stop calling me that it's not true you're just repeating someone else's lie! But what else would Thor call his brother? It may have been a lie to begin with, and it still might be a lie to other people, but having spent centuries thinking they were brothers and acting like they were then how is that relationship not them being brothers? Had Loki actually been his brother by blood it wouldn't have made a difference so in practical terms how are they suddenly not brothers just because Loki turned out to be a Frost Giant?
Thor wants Loki to stop causing problems and to stop being a dick, but he doesn't want him to stop being his brother (were such a thing even possible in his mind). Whereas Loki's life of crime or even just life on the run would be a lot easier if he didn't have a brother to worry about and who insists on worrying about him.
tl;dr: I got lost about halfway through my answer, sorry. I have more thoughts on this matter than my usually flippant comments might suggest D: D:

Gimmiiiieee secret for one of those funky gnomes?
secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?
After her friend and mentor, the circus' escape artist, died in a suspicious water escape accident, Idri's had an intense fear of deep water and of drowning. She doesn't want anyone to know about it partly because she finds it embarrassing, and partly just because it's connected to something painful that she's trying to 'cope with' by just simply Never Thinking About It Ever. She ALSO, more recently, has a more serious but less personal secret, which is that it turns out said mentor was not actually killed in that incident, but that his death was faked by a friend who knew he was being targeted for murder, and secretly took his place... he still has enemies, and fears that if word gets out that he's not actually dead, it might put more of his friends and colleagues in danger. Idri takes his trusting her with this information very seriously, and is determined to never tell a soul.
Melliwyk honestly fucking hates secrets at this point in the adventure, lmao. No more secrets! No fucking secrets forever!! They only ever cause problems she's so sick of things being kept secret for ~good reasons~ that always just make everything worse for no reason!! I mean she probably has some personal things that are private or embarrassing that she wouldn't want people to know about, obviously, who doesn't, but even a lot of those things are either widely known even if not necessarily by her friends (the incident with her former roommate), or things she's told them by now (the fact that her 'hood' is a novelty nightcap enchanted to give the wearer pleasant dreams, and she wears it all the time because she's nightmare-prone, especially when she unexpectedly falls asleep)
Felix went missing for awhile. He has no idea what happened during most of that time, but the last thing he remembers was witnessing a caravan camped just off the road being attacked by.... something. Huge, looming humanoid shapes of pure darkness, seemingly draining the life essence of the people in the caravan. He was spotted before he had a chance to do anything, and a creature grabbed his arm, but a voice called for it to leave him alone... After he woke up, he found his skin had turned completely grey where the creature touched him; it doesn't hurt or feel different in any way, and the mark hasn't spread, although the hand was so big that its print takes up most of his arm. He's been trying to learn literally anything about what he saw and what happened to him, but he hasn't told anybody, and he keeps his arm covered at all times.
Indigo would hate if the truth got out about what happened to their eye, where they now have an obviously false golden one. It's not, like, actually a big deal, but they give a different answer every time anyone asks, so if people knew the truth it would ruin the bit. Indigo lies recreationally so there are a lot of things about their personal life and backstory that they keep dead secret for no other particular reason than that it's fun for them. The only thing cooler than having been mentored by an ancient dragon is casually never ever mentioning it, you know?
ask about my characters! :3c

this is a very venty post don't mind me :D
that nintendo direct was so horrible.
it was literally like 80 percent remakes and remasters.
never in my life have i seen an announcement video exist just to say "every game you've ever known since the 90s is being remade/remastered, sorry, we ran out of originality".
literally like all the video game market is anymore is remakes and the movie industry is just as bad.
the nso releases are fine because they're not like, remakes taking up full game slots. they're old games that are being made accessible and that's great... but there's no need to remake this many games when they can do that. remakes used to be rare. remember stuff like the wii u shop and stuff? with all the games they had on those things? now it's a tiny selection and everything else is a remake :/
also I feel like a lot of new rpgs are just like... lowkey fe knockoffs now instead of original rpgs.
i'm happy for like... two existing remakes, but one of them is mario rpg which people wanted waaaaAAAAAYYYY before the remake and remaster era, and the other is baten kaitos which im not actually happy about remaster-wise (the updated ui is trash, they took out very specific charms of the original ui), just happy that it will get more recognition/notice from people since it was never popular.
they also completely removed the english voice acting which like okay yeah it wasn't always that great but the voices fit perfectly and it wasn't as bad as fans meme on it for! it just sounded like they were talking through a tube and that was actually the worst part of it lol.
someone suggested to me that they may have just lost the data for it, but idk. i wish they'd just admit that somehow if it was the case, because it bugs me that the english audio is just completely gone when ultimately i really liked it. i wanted the game to be accessible to newer players, sure, but i also wanted the english audio there. ig that's because i grew up with it and i liked it, but it's still such a bummer for me!
paper mario being put on the nso and tyd getting a whole remaster does make me sad tho bc it feels like they're leaving the original in the dust when it was so good. if you're gonna do tyd, at least do them both.
good for innersloth though, i'm sure they never imagined being on a nintendo direct. they're the real winners here.
