Do you think dickbabs will break up in young justice season 4? Or will the show continue with the dickbabs relationship? I would like to hear your opinion and theories about it. Personally i wish dickbabs will just break up and dickzatanna will get back together Or dickkory will happen in the show.

heh, i'm the wrong person to ask about young justice; i've never watched it. my first dc experience was teen titans, and when i found out young justice didnt have starfire in it, i just sort of shrugged and ignored it.

i mean. ngl i always hope for a db breakup, or better yet a db never-happening-in-the-first-place; it's one of my biggest notps. (i will say though, at least she's oracle. disabled women being represented and having love stories is always a good thing; i just don't want her to have this particular love story. and oracle needs better representation anyway, given what they're doing to her in the comics at the moment.)

honestly though......i hear YJ is kind of a mess altogether, and art-direction-wise it frankly looks awful. i'd hate to see how phil bourassa could make kory look any worse than she did in the dcamu movies, but i'm sure he'd pull it off. and dick is written as a playboy, so if kory were to show up i'm sure it would be in service to that more than anything else. as far as i'm concerned, kory (and raven) need to stay out of YJ for their own self-preservation.

Maybe I’m being a nitpicky crank, but fancasts/actual casting decisions for characters with dark skin/light hair that pick dramatically lighter skin for the sake of naturally light hair drive me up the fucking wall. Colorism is real and its terrible,stop fancasting the lightest looking people possible for dark skinned characters. Fucks sake.

W the whole violet only recently came out thing maybe I’m misremembering time stamps but in world didn’t that happen like 4 months before Raquels arc which like Raquels arc has been like a week long in universe so it’s not like it’s unrealistic for violet to have sent out a memo to the jl w their pronouns and that memo to have reached Raquel and considering the vibes of their coming out scene it came across as them wanting to tell everyone asap so there really is no excuse bc the framing of the scene was that that WAS their big coming out moment we shouldn’t have to expect every lgbtq+ character to come out with a big audience for it to be considered their official coming out all you have to do is read the vibes of the scene to get that other ppl are gonna be told as well

I love that dcshg gives each heroine a distinct and vibrant personality! to get kind of negative, it's much better show in that regard than yj, where I can probably describe more of what happens to a character than their actual character traits.

Honestly I really hate Greg for pairing up Kaldur with Wyynde. Out of all the fucking characters to pick from, he paired Kaldur up with a FORMER PURIST. This isn't about Wyynde's redemption or offscreen nonexistent "growth". It's about the fact Greg /deliberately/ chose to pair Kaldur, a black person, with someone who was a racist extremist. Now I have to deal with ignorant fans making hcs of how Kaldur "reformed" Wyynde or Wyynde changed his ways and fell in love with Kaldur and I HATE it.

And you know, the thing that really gets me about this is Wyynde isn’t like this in any of the comics. His origin is literally that he left his people and then became a soldier for Atlantis. Nothing about being a purist or even looking down on people. And it’s REALLY fucked up when you take into account that there’s only a real handful of Native American superheroes in the DC roster. 

Not only did Grandon have the gall to make an indigenous superhero a purist, but they ALSO then paired him with Kaldur, one of their most prominent characters of color. It’s a completely asinine decision. It’s not something they can claim innocence to. They’re grown men who lived through the 60s and 70s, who had front row seats to the Civil Rights Movement and all its counter-movements. Hell, white supremacy is at an all-time rise. Pairing the leader of the Justice League with a fucking former purist is completely irresponsible and should not be allowed to slide simply because it provides mlm representation. Again, we should not be celebrating table scraps. We should and MUST demand better. 

AND GOD, I literally scream every time I see one of those posts in the tags. It should never fall on the oppressed to educate or reform the oppressor. That falls exclusively on the oppressor alone (and falling in love with the oppressed SHOULD NOT be a reason why someone changes in fiction omfg).

I'm so glad to see someone calling out this latest Young Justice episodes bullshit. I've seen no one talking about it critically and every I know talks about how great it is that they confirmed Harper as Bi but like?????? They literally did so by having her cheat? Which is one of the biggest biphobic stereotypes out there. I'm so goddam upset about this episode and people are just worshiping the season still.

I’ve seen some critiques of the episode, quite a few when it first came out, but definitely not… as many as I was hoping.

Especially for the season as a whole.

Here’s the thing: Harper and Violet kissing was a huge, huge biphobic stereotype and a massive slap in the face for lgbt/queer fans. Its just. So god damn bad. Violet and Harper are both cheating, both of them are obviously struggling with things, and we’re supposed to celebrate?

I’m incredibly upset about this episode, more than I can put words to, but it’s the last nail in a coffin full of them.

So, let’s take a list of what pisses me off about Season 3 of Young Justice:

Hey let’s start with fucking Nightwing, shall we? A gun! With bullets! Rubber ones, but still. He pulled a GUN on TEENAGERS for TRAINING. Boy ain’t Nightwing, anymore. Boy ain’t even a Bat.

How about the complete lack of character focus? Who are these new characters? What is up with the old ones? Uugh.

THE BABIES. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY.

“I feel out of place, being the only dad,” says Will, and immediately IMMEDIATELY gets called out by the women. That ain’t feminism. That’s standing with stereotypes about fathers. Of course he’s out of place, he’s the only Dad! So help him! Support him! He’s a single father and none of these mothers are supporting him! FUCK THAT!!!

Hey how about that shitty non-binary representation. Forager’s people have really complex gender and he didn’t get to pick his pronouns or discuss his gender at all. I headcanon he’s a demi boy, because it feels right to me, but the show didn’t try. And Violet? Just… god, man. Violet got so much hype from me and then they just. Threw it away. Constant references to them being a woman/girl - primarily to sexualize them - and no arguments against it.

“I’m not Muslim” -immediately drinks-. No, no no no. You don’t get to wear a hijab, talk about it feeling “right”, and then fuck off with all that.

Hey how about that bullshit “are they/are they not” Ed/Bart? Especially with last week’s episode and Ed’s seeming annoyance over Bart’s hug with Virgil.

Hey how come Bart wasn’t upset about the funeral. How come he comforted Virgil. How come.

Cyborg is being handled badly.

The meta human plot is being handled badly.

The weird Wendy/Ed vibes are totally inappropriate and for a show that bad Dinah call out when M’gann/Connor were fucking around with that as a role play, they should know that.

WHY ARE THEY OUTSIDERS. THEY ARE TITANS.

WHY.

I just. I hate this season. So much. The biphobia, the queerbaiting, the bad character designs (Jaime, Connor, M’gann’s freckles are awful; the lack of characterization, the lack of development, everything). I adore Supermartian and I am so glad that it got more focus this season, but that’s about the only thing I like about it.

And season 4 makes me fear we’re gonna jump another couple years in the future and destroy what little is left of the show that I enjoy.

I’m so done, man. I’m so done with all this.
