When it got dark in biblical times, they lit lamps — not the brilliant LED lanterns you can purchase today, but simple pottery lamps, with a single wick and flame, casting just enough light to see a short ways ahead. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path.” If we follow God’s will, we do not know what the road will look like in a few miles or years. God gives us just a pottery lamp’s worth of light, just enough to take a few more steps. You have to trust God with that kind of light. “The Lord is my light; whom shall I fear?” We fear the [dark unknown of the] future— but with God as our light, that small flicker banishes the darkness, and we are not alone.

me when i promised myself i would be a normal person today but i think about "because fitz is dead, and she's all i have left of him or his father" and "i let them have him, and they used him" and "very softly he began singing to her. i tried to make out the words, but his voice was too deep. nor did i know the language." and "nik agreed with burrich's idea of when mornings began" and "if chade chose burrich, it is because he thinks him the equal of a hundred guards"

LET ME ASSIGN YOU AN AESTHETIC WORD.
CAFUNÉ. cafuné means running your fingers through someone's- perhaps a lover, hair. it's such an intimate, affectionate way of showing love. if you got this result, you're a romantic at heart; very sweet, delicate, precious wandering soul. aren't you scared of your heart being too big for your body? somehow, you remind me of that pretty coral pink that bleeds into a soft indigo when the sun is slowly setting.
what i'd like to tell you is that we can't save everyone, and that's okay. you're doing your best, and it's enough.

Isaac was well employed when he met Rebekah. He went out to take the advantage of a silent evening, and a solitary place, for meditation and prayer; those divine exercises by which we converse with God and our own hearts. Holy souls love retirement; it will do us good to be often alone, if rightly employed; and we are never less alone than when alone.
Matthew Henry; Commentary on Genesis 24:63

wait sooooo how many years WERE there in between the creation of michael and the creation of lucifer. how many years did michael spend being the only one of his kind. maybe that's why he's so distant about it when it comes to any love he has for the other archangels. none of them or the angels for that matter have ever known what it is to be alone like that. michael might not have been actually alone because god and the darkness were there and maybe he wouldn't even recognize the loneliness for what it was back then because it was all he ever knew and he had nothing else to go off of and he WAS created to be a good soldier and loyal son so maybe it never even occured to him. but maybe after everything when it's just him and adam down in the cage and all the other archangels are dead he's like ah. so that's what that was

nina niiina nina nina i have Not been able to stop thinking about that post u made about hominy & malius where they discuss him being a god. like i cannot stop thinking about him saying that to be a god he has to be worshiped and cared for, they have to be believed in, and idk something something cannot stop thinking about the possible implications of the both of them eventually caring for each other, believing in each other, and by his definition of what it means to be a god, this makes them each others god IDK IDK i am just going crazee thinking about them and im shaking ur shoulders about it bc it's been in my head since & i wanted to SHARE !!!!!!
i am so glad we are both on this boat together bc i am always thinking about these two. i love love love your point here! ‘ both of them eventually caring for each other/ believing in each other , making each other their gods ‘ i am losing my mind at this perspective! !! HEATH you are so genius dude, like thinking about the two of them going through the motions of trying to restore malius but something something isn’t working and he’s still stuck , , , , ,
i want you to know in my original outline for this story malius doesn’t break free simply because he regains his memories , he breaks free of the sword and inhabits a body hominy chiseled ,,, i never decided if it was clay or solid stone but i had a scene written out late into the story involving some of her blood, her washing the finished piece down in fresh water , it’s a whole thing. from her hands , a new body for him was created , no mere immortal could do that , oh no that was the work of a divine ,,,,, they so intertwined they ascended above all else together it’s insane it’s all insane i love thinking about these two and the themes of rebirth , intensity, teeth, blood, loyalty, fealty , the intimacy of surrender , the destruction of each other’s enemies, the sacred act of unification physically, spiritually, if it’s true worship and care that created a god, then malius had long since created an alter space for her in his chest that he’d gladly open and show her.

tbh if i wasnt set on trip being not just the last saint rescued from his nightmare sim, but also being utterly convinced it was just real life up until he gets spit out of his goo pod, i would incorporate the canon sim somehow. most i can believe is him finding out it's a sim IMMEDIATELY bc him??? marrying shaundi???? LMAOOOOOO you're gonna have to try a lot harder than that, zinyak
...... though i could also split off that version of him. i mean fuck it. all the other game versions of trip exist simultaneously in the sim (at least post-nightmare) so might as well add to the pike. i think an ultra-stealth goody-two-shoes trip would be interesting to work with
