The main food that I made for the elderly elf man 'party'. which was a Deconstructed Beef Wellington (kind of as ajoke since I watch s #o many silly cooking competition shows and they always make stuff 'deconstructed' at the last minute when under time limits or whatever.) #I've wanted to make beef wellington a few times but Ithink to do it well I'd need like..an actual kitchen and a lot of time and #an oven that fully works to bake things and etc. etc. So I thought this would be an easier method. A thick steak cut round to kind of mimi #c the round tenderloin or whatever it is in a wellington. instead of the puff pastry being wrapped around - I just did star shaped cut outs #of pastry and baked them and put them on top (to go with the star theme). instead of mushroom duxelles being wrapped around in pastry #its in a little circle under the steak. and instead of mustard being brushed onto the meat I made a mustard gravy sauce type of thing #Then of course asparagus on the side.. my favorite... Though I know some wellington #also has a layer of prosciutto I think. or I saw one person use crepes. I didn't feel it was necessary to incorporate that too lol #8. bapy son helping me do a giant puzzle that took me hours and I had no idea it was actually that large of a puzzle #until I started putting it together and for some reason it made me stressed by the end instead of relaxed lol.. puzzle fatigue #photo diary

actually i feel like a whole essay could be written about "Random Humor" and how it did not really go away so much as get rebranded and change its presentation somewhat. tumblr especially loves its absurdist non-sequiturs but it is afraid to call it as it is (random humor) and quite frankly some of the posts on this site WISH they could be as funny as a ytp from 2009. i havent the braincells right now (or maybe ever idk) to write such an essay though

Begotten - Well. With Beasts the hunger is like metaphysical stuff. Not-exactly-nice acts to provoke and feed off strong emotions in humans (usually some type of fear response.) Like in iZ!AU - the Beasts are the same dudes on Team Z. I can’t help but think the twins may end up garnering a reputation like, “The Draconic Thief (Roman) & The Tentacled Deep Sea Vandal (Remus).“

Gymrat - The most banal version of this trope. Since it’s a realistic, slice of life AU. So an actual Snickers bar might get produced in the situation at hand. I think from most to least prone to getting hangry (extremely loosely):

Roman (look, this man is already highly emotional and dramatic)

Remus (especially when particularly anemic or in pain)

Virgil (especially when already stressed/cranky)

Janus (especially during a flare-up - cranky from pain and a bit more hungry thanks to corticosteroid usage)

Logan (more likely to compound moments where dude just needs to go find a quiet place to scream about customer BS)

Patton (man’s disciplined, what can I say?).

Only real question mark is with the Promethean!AU. Yeah, they can eat food... but their bodies are like alchemical furnaces getting fueled... rather than something more visceral/natural? It’s not as pressing to address, besides Trying To Appear Like A Normal Human Being.

maybe the problem w remakes of old kitschy sci-fi shows is that sci-fi means something fundamentally different than it did when these stories were made, it's almost a different genre now bc the level of fantasy dramatically goes down the more scientists do the shit we were dreaming about.
