i love that WtNV doesn't base any plot around Carlos and Cecil's personal conflicts, but it still mentions them from time to time

like, "oh, Cecil started an argument about the spice drawer this morning and afterwards felt insecure and like he didn't deserve Carlos, and also they're still just as in love as they were in episode 40 and had already talked it through by the time we heard about it." Sometimes, the scientist isn’t always fine.

Both my “Lubelle bringing about the end of everything” post and my “go to the mirror parallels” post have been swirling about in my head, so it was only a matter of time until they converged into a singular and painful result. I love me a good mirroring quote and of course, Cecil angst.

Carlos can only run from the painful parts of his past for so long, and I get the feeling that if he doesn’t face them soon, things are going to change in a big, possibly drastic, way. With his loved ones in the crossfire.

I find it interesting that the university of what it is explained away Night Vale’s unreachable-ness because it could mean 1) the town is now completely blocked off and people can’t accidentally find it and the scientists inadvertently locked themselves inside it (and the only people who can get in are the people from Desert Bluffs 2 hmmmmmm) or 2) Even though the road doesn’t connect to anything entry is actually possible (and like, it shows up on maps and outside surveillance and shit) and more normal can start pouring in, and Lubelle has someone to explain the weirdness TO other than the Night Vale citizens who don’t want to hear it. And, I don’t think that bodes well for the current battle of “unexplainable versus normalcy” that’s waging.

I find both options intriguing, concerning, and Im not sure the U of What is Is Thought about repercussions of it.
