the script saying it was easy for her to include him on the list

he hears her crying and then he wakes up and knows immediately what she's crying about and how to comfort her

"if i'm on that list, you're on that list, write it down or i will" is just "you want forgiveness, i'll give that to you" or "together" or essentially ily etc etc etc!!!!!!

he writes her name in all caps, like he's daring anyone to argue with him that clarke griffin doesn't belong on this list too

because they lift each other up when one of them is struggling with the weight of it all after a particularly hard day, they provide that encouragement when no one else does,

the hand on her shoulder purely for comfort's sake, much like the 3x13 hug

HBC 24 Hour Surprise Drabble Challenge

Theme: Quarantine Heroes

Prompt used: Neighbors keeping up with social distancing & Paramedic/EMT

Warning: a little angst and fluff

Word count: 1,231 words

This is written for @the-ss-horniest-book-club​ 😍 and for our Heroes that are facing this invisible villain rn. Thank you for everything. I am wishing and praying for your safety.

And for everyone, Stay home and stay safe. We will survive this 💪

You're a loner, you don't mind being alone and staying home but this is too much! Being stuck inside your apartment for 3 weeks now and not going to work, you feel like you're about to lose your mind.

It was another boring morning and you've decided to go and clean your place.

Opening up the window to let the dust fly out you started working.

You were busy watering the plants on your balcony when you heard a meowing somewhere near you. Frowning knowing you're at the 10th floor you got up and looked around and you saw this little kitty hanging at the balcony of the room above yours.

Heart beating, you took a chair and went to reach for it coz any moment now it's going to fall and might die.

"Omg poor baby, why are you there it's not safe." You said to the little white ball of fur. You stroked its head cradling it near your chest. The poor thing is shaking.

Shaking your head you went out with the Kitty to go up another floor to knock on the room above yours.

Still hugging the poor kitty with one arm you knocked and knocked and even waited for 30 minutes but no one came out. You sighed.

No one must have been home so you went back to your floor and closed all possible areas that the kitty might sneak into.

Thinking of how you can tell the person above that you have it's pet, your eyes landed on your sketchbook and an idea popped in.

You took your supplies and got to work sketching the little cutie and writing a note stating you have their cat. Nodding at your work you got up and went back to the room above and pushed the folded paper under the door. Hopefully they'll see it once they're home.

Preparing for the night you got dressed in your pj and was ready to head to bed where the kitty is already asleep, when a knock came at your door. You went and looked at the peephole but only saw a muscled back.

"Who's there?" You asked, not yet opening the door for safety.

"Uhm hey, its... I-I'm from the room above, I saw your note on my door." Said the man. You felt yourself blush hearing his voice. You're always teased with your rough voice kink by your friends and this man just sounded so delish in your ears.

You opened the door and peaked.

"H-hi... I'm glad you're here now. I got her, lemme just get her she's asleep in my room." You said offering for him to get in and wait at your couch. The man looks so good you feel like you're dreaming.

"Thanks doll." He said and smiled.

It felt like your soul left your body and you felt tingles running from your toes to your belly. Walking a bit fast you almost tripped on your way to your room.

"Hey, kitty, I'm sorry to disturb your sleep." You said and softly carried her. She meowed a bit and snuggled back on your arms.

"Wow, she's never been that friendly to strangers…" the man said standing up when he saw you walking back from your bedroom.

"Really? But she's been such a sweetheart the whole day." You said confused.

"Yes she is but not to everyone…" he said, you looked up and saw him looking at you with soft eyes and a cute smirk in his sexy lips.

Swallowing you step closer but in a safe distance to transfer the sleeping furball to his arms.

"She was hanging at your balcony this morning, maybe next time make sure it's closed whenever you go out?" You said to him, your voice a bit hard.

"I know, thank you for saving Alphine, I would have lost my mind if she's hurt or...worse…" he said biting his lips. "I usually had everything closed whenever I go on my duty but I must have been very tired last night and forgot to check when I had an emergency call earlier this morning." He said scratching his head.

You can see that he really felt guilty you felt bad from scolding him. He also looks very tired.

"I'm sorry for scolding you." You sigh, "you look worn out. Are you alright?" You asked.

"Yeah, just tired from work. We had an all nighter the other day and today is supposed to be my off but there was an emergency call and I have to go and do my job." He said, sighing and softly running his hand at the cat's head.

"I'm so sorry to hear that." You said, your eyes twitched wanting to pat his back but you remember, social distancing. "So I assume you work at the frontlines or essentials, if you still have work right now?" You said not wanting to make him leave after what you heard. You're sure he wants someone to talk to right now.

"Yeah, I work as an EMT." He said.

"Oh...wow, I'd like to thank you and everyone in your field for working hard for us." You said looking straight at his beautiful blue eyes. He really looks tired.

"Thank you doll. I really love my job but this pandemic made it feel like a torture." His expression changed into that of someone who had seen so much.

"I wish I could help…" you whispered.

"You already are helping-" he looked at you, "I don't think I got your name."

"It's Y/N and you're?" You answered.

"James Barnes but you can call me Bucky." He smiled and you feel like your heart is starting to malfunction. "As I was saying, you're helping. By staying home you've been a big help for us who are working to keep everyone safe and for yourself too." He said sweetly. "And you even saved my little Alphine so I think you've helped greatly."

Feeling your face heat up at his gaze and what he said.

You nodded at him and a thought came to your mind.

"W-well...just a thought? If you ever need to go on an all nighter again you can leave Alphine here with me so she won't be alone for a long time." You said with a hopeful look in your eyes.

"Oh no, I don't want to trouble you anymore." He said.

"It's okay, i really need the company myself too." You laugh. "It's not fun being alone and trapped inside. And she's a sweetheart so i would love to babysit her from time to time."

You swallowed a lump at your throat when you saw how he's staring at you. Eyes running up and down your face and stopping to meet your eyes.

"I'd love to hug you, but it's not safe at the moment. Thank you for that offer. I'll let you know if ever I need to go and ask for help." You weren't able to stop the wide smile that formed on your lips from what he said. He's really sweet even though he look like he's all hard muscles inside his henley.

"Maybe once everything is safe…" you winked at him. "I'll expect that hug." And that made his face go red. Oh boy... I'm in trouble.

Not knowing that with the help of little Alphine you've already met your forever.
