“Why is Yul Moldauer taking part in the german national gymnastics league? I get that in other sports, people are in it for the money, but there is no money to be had there...”
i am not usually one to purposefully delve into the personal and political beliefs of athletes because i think i would go insane in like 13 seconds if i did. but brody malone being a trumpie just makes me violently want the us mens gymnastics team to crash and burn at worlds i just think he has an annoying face
been watching the us gymnastics championships this weekend and i love the vibe of the seasoned champion (like yul moldauer) competing against the young upstart (like asher hong).
just imagine young anakin idolizing obi wan growing up and now he gets to compete against him,,, imagine anakin getting distracted bc he catches obi wan watching him from the side…. and obi wan feels threatened by anakin bc he’s trying to defend his gold but at the same time compelled…. the olympic village is ALREADY known to be slutty and fun i just think it would suit obikin so well and lends itself to lots of cameos hehe
Oo this is good!!
I have an Olympics au where they’re athletes of different sports from different countries, same Olympics and one becomes very worried when the other misses his games (and they have a passionate affair every four years but have agreed to keep it just to the Olympics)
but there’s something very nice and canon-like about them being the same sport and anakin looking up to obi-wan and being excited to see him and compete against him
(for me though I think that narrative does end still with obi-wan winning against anakin and I feel like I see most modern day sports centered AUs have the young upstart win against the elder and in this case obi-wan makes his peace about it but I would not be able to do that lmao canonically obi-wan beats anakin in 2/3 of their showdowns and then anakin screams (in agony) about it)
No surprise.
