um. that quote about how it’s harder to forgive people for being right than for being wrong. that’s this fandom with dean

what i find equally funny and annoying about the later seasons is that they kind of forget that dean is ridiculously good at making friends in favour of making him mr i’m gonna get my gun guy. but it’s like... he’s charming!!! he’s a charming lil son of a gun!!! he endeared himself to death without effort and there’s a dozen demons/monsters off the top of my head who haven’t killed him yet because he’s just so damn likeable!! why do they always go for threatening torture when i know for fact that their success rate would be higher if dean just babbled at them for twenty minutes until they were buddies

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May And summer’s lease hath all too short a date Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines And often is his gold complexion dimm’d And every fair from fair sometime declines By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d But thy eternal summer shall not fade Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st So long as men can breathe or eyes can see So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. Sonnet 18, W.Shakespeare

dean is the second coming do you ever think about that? like he’s the messiah. saying this as someone who couldn’t be less religious if she tried but spn is a christian show and i’m working with that framework and listen, he died a martyr and rose back from the dead by divine intervention to help bring heaven’s kingdom to earth or some such shit? yeah he’s basically jesus, but even ignoring that tasty tidbit, he’s the hope and light of the world. you can lie through your teeth and say sam could have accomplished anything borderline useful without dean there, that he could’ve swayed powerful beings to their side that they needed on their side to have even a fraction of a chance at any time, but it would still be a lie. it always comes down to dean even when he got benched in the end to make room for some too-little-too-late sam redemption slash “help”. dean never seized the leadership role for himself but it settled naturally on him anyway, every time someone else didn’t make a grab for it (lmao and look how that turned out), because his soul is that bright and his drive is that righteous without being self-righteous, that’s the other brother. his integrity and calamitous, transformative love. dean winchester’s the messiah and every being with half a brain cell to their name knew it, too.

For real like no man has ever been a woman the way Dean Winchester has accidentally been a woman more times than he has been a clichéd man thx

That video just made me realize…Dean fights, in some ways, like a woman.
Not like women do on TV, with lots of improbable acrobatics. But like how an actual human woman would generally fend off an attacker? That’s how Dean fights.
Like. A lot of his fighting style is based on using the other guy’s size and momentum against him, which is a tactic often emphasized in women’s self defense courses. He lets the other guy do the work to tire themselves out, another tactic taught to women in those courses. Demon!Dean is more brutal but even he does a lot of this.
He also uses his environment and improvises/reacts a lot, something else you might do if most of your training is for self defense in situations where you might be physically weaker or smaller than your opponent. Which would make sense given they generally fight creatures and people with superhuman strength, except Sam doesn’t fight this way. And we know from canon flashbacks that Sam didn’t become gigantor until his late late teens or even early twenties, so he wouldn’t have been trained differently than Dean based on height alone (especially when he didn’t have the bulk to match until like seasons 5-6).
Also. I have never in the history of cinema and television seen a man go for another man’s junk in a fight unless it was played for comedy (and rarely then). It’s like. Unwritten rules or something?
Women do it a lot. In fact if a woman fights an man on screen there’s like an 80% chance she’s gonna start or finish by kicking him in the crotch. But men by and large just don’t do that to each other on TV.
And yet I just watched a video where Dean Winchester, Man Fantasy, went right for kicking another dude in the crotch in a prison fight. And I don’t know what it means but boy howdy does it compel me.

this is so funny, how much money do they really think the network would have made if they’d ended their travesty of a season with a terribly written and out of character mutual love confession? the show was, like, over
