One of the most playable courses on the Cape Falmouth Country Club is a 27-hole, the quintessential Cape Cod golf course that is open all year round to the public. Course Highlight Wednesday: 📍Cape Ann Golf Club Located 45 minutes north east of Boston in the town of Essex, the Cape Ann Golf Club is the true definition of a hidden gem. With near panoramic views of the Essex tidal marsh conservation land - The Cape Ann Golf Club features one of the most scenic and challenging, public nine-hole courses in all of New England. A well kept course with exceptionally fast greens, this course is a remarkable player friendly course that caters to all levels of play. The Cape Ann Golf Club should be on everyone’s short list of must play courses for 2021. Business partners James Stavros and James Thanos originally owned a dairy farm on the land back before loosing their livestock to a storm in the 1920’s. Left with the dilemma of how to utilize the land, Starvros and Thanos reached out to Donald Ross protégé Eugene "Skip" Wogan to design a challenging golf course that will compliment the unique coastal environment forged by the Essex River, salt marshes and Crane Beach. Finally opening in 1931, the Cape Ann Golf Club has remained a family run course owned and operated by the Stavros Family. Over the past 5 years, Cape Ann has been engaged in a series of renovations under the direction of Jerry Deemer of Country Golf, Inc. helping the course strategically re-imagine some areas of the course. Having wrapped up in June of 2021, new additions included a new waste bunker on the 6th hole, A remodeled Bunker in front of the 9th green with all NEW ladies Tee Box, Waste Bunker on right, and a Pot Bunker feature on left the side. When it comes to bringing together a bunch of golf crazed nuts, nobody does it better than @bostongolfsocial. They put on an amazing event today and @mariongolfclub1904 gracious hosts. Established in 1904, Marion Golf Club is a par 34, 9 hole, 2,695 yard course designed by George Thomas who went on to design famed courses like Bel-Air County Club and Riviera Country Club among others. With views of Sippican Harbor, MGC sits on an old cow pasture that still retains a lot of its old character. Most notable are the stone walls that are found on almost every hole dividing fairways and obscuring views of the greens when you tee off. Marion is a very fun, unique golf course being brought back to prominence by its new owners Jeremiah Daly and Michael Kane. Course Highlight Wednesday: 📍Cape Cod National Golf Club Located in Brewster, Massachusetts, Cape Cod National is an 18-hole championship golf course conceived by the minds of John Pfeffer, his wife Linda Pfeffer and friends Jamie & Stephania McClennen over a couple cocktails in October of 1994. In December of that year, Pfeffer retained the services of the well known New England based architectural firm of Cornish, Silva, & Mungeam with Brian Silva being the lead designer. By March of the next year, the 154 acres piece of land had been acquired and christened the name, "Cape Cod National Golf Club". Cape Cod National features dramatic Well-groomed tree-lined fairways, greens to keep them honest, DEEP fescue, steep elevation changes and numerous well placed bunkers throughout the course. Cape Cod National is a well balanced must play golf course that offers the right amount of difficulty with exceptional views for both casual and competitive golfers to fall in love with.
