"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness"…He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (2 Corinthians 12:9, Isaiah 40:29-31)
When we realize our drastic insufficiency and admit to God that we are weak, God offers us His strength.
Whenever we cry out to God concerning our complete frailty in any given area of life, His grace is available to meet that need.
Lord, You are my only hope and my strength. On my own I am hopeless and powerless. Thank You for Your grace . I am weak; give me Your power. I have no might; increase Your strength in me. I wait upon You. I put my trust in You. Thank You for Your strength in my life, in Jesus' name, Amen.

“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!” None of us want to think that we are wretched. When we compare ourselves with others we think we are somewhat better or okay, we don't realise how wretched and pitiful we are. When Isaiah saw the LORD Almighty in all His glory, he said, "Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts." When he saw the holiness of God, he recognised his own sinfulness. We can never go to God in this sinful state. Today, we have a Saviour, Jesus Christ, who died for us. He will save us by His grace and make us righteous, all we have to do is place our faith and trust in Him. Would you ask Him to be your Saviour and Lord?

THE WORD FOR 25/4
The Bible says that Solomon was the wisest man in all the earth. How can such a wise man turn away from His God.
Deuteronomy 17: 18-20 says that a king who sits on the throne has to write down God's law, and read it all the days of his life, that he may fear the Lord and not turn away from God's commandments. Apparently Solomon failed to follow this commandment. In the same chapter God instructs kings not to have many wives lest they turn their hearts away from God. Solomon obviously did not pay attention to this commandment either. As a result he became a slave to every kind of vice under the Sun. If the wisest man on earth could be lured to the path of sin,  so can we. We must be vigilant to guard our hearts and minds. We must be steadfast to abide in Jesus, lest we fall away. Jesus said apart from Me you can do nothing. Let us diligently study God's word, obey it  and cling to Jesus and live lives that is pleasing in His sight.

After the death of king David, Solomon was crowned king. He was very young and felt inadequate and ill-equipped.
1 Kings 3:5, 7, 9
At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you?"
And now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in.
Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people...
Solomon’s realization of his own inadequacy caused him to cry out to God for the wisdom. The Bible says that God was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom and not riches or anything else.
If you are faced with a task that is too enormous and you feel inadequate, ask Jesus for wisdom. The Bible says in James 1:5, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously, without finding fault. He will then give you the wisdom to complete the task with excellence and great finesse.

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’...But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. Matthew 6: 31&33
How often we push our Bible reading and prayer to the end of the day. We hurriedly read a verse or two, say a prayer and plop into bed. We hardly have the energy or even the concentration to understand His word. It's no wonder that we feel stressed and drained even before it's midday.
The Bible urges us to seek the things of God first, His kingdom and His righteousness. The verse doesn't mean, Jesus will immediately make us rich or influential. It means, when you seek His kingdom first, He will be faithful to provide strength, wisdom for the day and all that you require, just at the right time, and you will surely glorify His name.

Jesus is Lord of lords and King of kings; and He will be accompanied by His called and chosen and faithful ones.”
Revelation 17:14
JESUS- He's the King of righteousness. He's the King of the ages. He's the King of Heaven. He's the King of glory. He's the King of kings and He is the Lord of lords.
Yet for our sake, He went to the cross, bore the pain, the scorn and the shame.
And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, Matthew 27:29 The King's head had to bear the crown of thorns, all for our sake.
For our sake He became a curse that we might inherit the blessings of Abraham.
God's Son purchased our Salvation, so that we could be sons and daughters of the most high God. Hallelujah!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
Colossians:6-7
In the above verses, Paul exhorts us, believers, to live a life that is pleasing in the sight of God. How do we do that? Follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus. Every single day we make a choice, we have to ask ourselves, "What would Jesus do?" And when we do that, the Spirit of God will help us choose the righteous path that will bring glory to His name.
Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation that we received through Jesus our Lord. Help me to walk worthy of my calling. May I learn to listen to the leading of Your Holy Spirit all the days of my life. I pray that my life would be lived solely for Your glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
In the midst of all that is shifting and changing God assures us that His Word “stands forever!”
Anything outside of God’s Word will wither and fade away.
God’s word is the final authority. God's Word is powerful; it can take an unsaved, uninterested, hard-hearted human being and absolutely turn his life around! And it can transform you, too—give you wisdom, bring you joy, dispel the darkness in your life. It shows the way to eternal life through Jesus Christ. It gives life meaning and purpose.
Have you read His word today?

The Bible says, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way” (Isaiah 53:6). Apostle Paul wrote: “There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside” (Romans 3:10-12). That is why Jesus came. We would never seek Him, but He came seeking us. Jesus said, “I have come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).
Jesus came to find us, for we could never have found Him if left to ourselves. We were wayward and wandering in our own way, but Jesus cared enough to seek after us. It is a clear expression of God’s love for us that He pursues us and desires to make us His own.

Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12
Consider Jesus Christ.  His was the greatest life that was lived on the earth. Everyone who has ever been called great pales by comparison to the greatness of Jesus. Greatness in God’s eyes has nothing to do with pomp or being famous in the world’s eyes or having a lot of money.  Being great in God’s sight is to do what God called you to do.  The only greatness in life is what is done for Christ, even in the midst of humble circumstances.
We cannot have greatness in ourselves, but only as God works through us.  We can do great things for God as we are led by Him.  Let the Holy Spirit work in you and lead you to do something great.  That’s the amazing thing about knowing Jesus Christ.  Every day you can do something great with Him and through Him.

I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. Psalm 91:2-4
Assuredly no subtle plot shall succeed against the one who has the eyes of God watching for his defense, we are foolish and weak as poor little birds, and are very apt to be lured to our destruction by cunning foes, but if we dwell near to God, He will see to it that the most skillful deceiver shall not entrap us and no plague will come nigh our dwelling.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort." 2 Corinthians 1:3
The word, "father", to some brings a sense of security, but to others it may stir up feelings of hate or even fear, perhaps because of some kind of abuse they had endured in the past. When my earthly father remarried after the death of my mother, I longed for his love and attention. You know God sees our deepest pain and hurt. He whispered to me, I am your true father. You have no father but Me." Oh, it was like pouring cold water on my wounded soul. I have since not longed for my dad's love like I used to. I truly embraced Jesus as my Father, and have depended on Him for every need of mine, whether spiritual, physical or emotional. He's never failed me, He's been with me in trouble, He's delivered me, He's provided for all my needs, He's given me peace and joy in the midst of storms.
Dear friend, if you haven't trusted God as your father, I urge you to do so today.
I assure you, you will truly be able to enter into His rest and be comforted.

The woman at the well mentioned in John 4 is a woman who had deep longing which she was trying to fulfill with all the wrong things. She thought that her longing would be satisfied in marriage. Alas! She felt even more empty. Five marriages didn't help, perhaps she thought, a live-in relationship would be more satisfying. Consumed by guilt and shame, she went to the well. It was midday, perhaps not wanting to run into any known faces. Jesus met her there!
Today, perhaps you too are living with an unfulfilled longing or a quashed dream, and you are tired of waiting. That longing will remain as long as we live. Only Jesus can fill that void, that longing. Jesus said, “‘But those who drink the water I give, will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life’” (John 4:14).
I do hope that God grants you the desires of your heart but it's even better when He fills the deep longings of our hearts with His Spirit, (the living water). We will never be left wanting and thirsting. We will be satisfied as a weaned child in the bosom of its mother.

Read Amos 4
When I read this passage, I get the sense that God is willing to go to great lengths to win His people's hearts and get them to turn to Him. There is a real sense of desperation. Five times He says, “Yet you have not returned to Me.”
In Amos 4, You see God disciplining His people in various ways- through starvation, drought, plague etc…why? Because He wanted His children to return to Him and be safe under His care. He knew, away from Him, they would be in danger. They’d fall into idolatry or run after financial gain, fall into terrible snares, which would destroy them.
Has God been trying to get your attention in some way?  He wants you to come to Him, He longs to gather you as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. Would you respond to Him today?

When it comes to the battles we face, anyone can walk away. It takes no courage to walk away. It’s a lot less painful to turn our backs and leave. We may not have the courage to face up to the enemy. But our God provides a well of strength that we can draw from anytime we need. He gives courage to all who say “I cannot do this alone.”
Jesus assures us that the war won’t be easy but promises us that if we trust in Him He will fight the battle for us and let us share in the victory. Don’t give up.  Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. Exodus 14:13

Nobody speaks of sin anymore. In fact, sin has almost disappeared from our vocabulary. We speak of sins as problems, issues, a sickness or it is someone else’s fault. But the Bible says very plainly that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. (1 John 1:8).
How serious is it? Paul said, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). We sin because it’s our nature. And we sin by choice.
God is holy and He cannot co-exist with sinful man. The cross is the only place that God will meet with mankind. The cross is the only place where both God’s mercy and God’s justice could meet. How can God be a God of love and a God of justice at the same time? How can the holy and perfect God meet with sinful, rebellious man? Only at the cross! Jesus Christ came, took our punishment, washed us clean with His precious blood and then He declared you and me righteous and gave us eternal life.

When you ask God for something, He may say no, and you may think that God is so unfair. He seems to be blessing everyone around you, and He hardly seems to hear you. You feel even more miserable when you see other people having fun, and you are the only one who is lonely and sad. But did you ever consider that God has something better for you?
Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."
See, that is why you should never be afraid to commit your unknown future to a known God. You should never be afraid to say, "Your will be done." The Lord who made the heavens and the earth has you in the palm of His hands. Jesus loves you and has the best in store for you, that is even more than you could ever ask or imagine.
