My unpopular opinion about this character

some of the fandom is just very mean, and often rather ableist too. there is a real limit to 'Johnny cries a lot' jokes I can take, and any joke with the punchline 'haha leg no work' just feels, cruel.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

he deserved to grow old, and rest peacefully.

I'll also add a bonus addition here to share that my tag for Johnny comes from that Regina Spektor song, because I saw a post ages ago using the lyrics as a caption for some Johnny art. the lyrics make my heart ache when I listen to the song and think of Johnny. :')

How I feel about this character

absolutely loathe him. one of my favourite villains of all time. DIO my abhorred.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

I simultaneously love both 'Hol Horse is a straight man who is obvious to/terrified of DIO's sexual advances' and actually shipping DIO/Hol for pure horny reasons. I honestly don't think I have any romantic ships for him, just horny.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I think his relationship with Pucci is neat: it's a side of Pucci's character I'd really love to explore more, as I am very fond of Pucci. I'm hesitant to call it a romantic relationship as it is not something I 'ship', but I do believe the subtext is there in canon. an enigmatic, divine, otherworldly leader and a follower with shaken faith is a fictional relationship trope I am very fond of.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I'm calling this an 'unpopular opinion' because the ship seems to be popular, but, I really, sincerely dislike shipping Jonathan and DIO.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

can I say English accent? he should have had an English accent.

How I feel about this character

oh Mikitaka is so good, he's so sweet, such a silly little addition to DIU. I love his design too: his modded uniform, unique pupils, and piercings are adorable.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

none.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

throw him in with Josuke and Okuyasu, I love art and comics that include Mikitaka as part of the gang.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I'm going to use this space to share my personal Mikitaka theory. on one hand, I love just taking it face value that yes, he is an alien. but the theory I developed while first watching the episode was that Mikitaka had developed his stand at a young age, and had thoroughly convinced himself he must be an alien — especially due to the nature of his stand, which us much more difficult to comprehend than a magical imaginary friend. all of his 'backstory' therein is the product of Mikitaka falling deeper into this delusion, picking up pieces of information from sci-fi stories and astronomy books to incorporate into his own perception of self.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

I would have loved to see Mikitaka and Rohan interacting, honestly. perhaps with an interrogation on Rohan's part. it would be hilarious.

How I feel about this character

:') I could go on for hours. I adore him beyond words.

Jotaro. :') yes it's cringe but I adore the two of them.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

gosh you know what, I love Kakyoin and Avdol as friends. I always smile when I see content of those two having quiet conversations together, very mature, introspective, thoughtful.

My unpopular opinion about this character

he isn't a good artist. look at that painting of Jotaro, sure you could argue he couldn't paint well because of the fleshbud, but look at it. I have a silly headcanon that Kakyoin loves to draw, he draws often! but he's not very good at it all — not that it detracts from the amount of love he puts into every page of his sketchbook. I think I'm just tired of the fandom trope of "x character is an artist so they are the best artist and they can draw their S/O perfectly", it crops up a lot in Jotaro/Kakyoin fic.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

yet, his tragic death is part of the reason why I love him so much. I wish, at least, Jotaro got to see his ghost (as with Polnareff and Avdol), and he was given a gentler ultimate send-off.

Jotaro Kujo

How I feel about this character

I love him, I honestly adore him so much. I grew so attached to him when watching SDC for the first time because he's just so silly in his hypermasculinity, poor one-liners, ridiculous (expensive) outfit, Western vibes — when I learned that he went into marine biology, and he studied invertebrates, in DIU I fell head over heels in love. just, I love biological scientist characters! and that's Jotaro!

Jotaro as a hero and the arc of his life through SDC to SO fills me with a genuine melancholy. I adore him, he's a tragic hero ultimately and I adore him.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

absolutely no surprise but it's Kakyoin. also, an occasional bit of Jotaro/Polnareff, but that's simply because I would like to see the two of them happy together within their VA era.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

as above, Polnareff. I love Jotaro and Polanreff just, being friends. sticking together throughout their adult lives. keeping each other close.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I think I posted this before but I disagree with people who complain that the fandom makes Jotaro's degree 'too much' of his personality, as someone with experience in zoology and academia I sincerely disagree.

although, some of you don't know too many marine invertebrates and it shows. trust me, I too headcanon that Jotaro owns a giant shark plush, but — he studied starfish. Jotaro is more likely to spout off about echinoderm evolution and intertidal ecology than 'dolphin facts'.

an episode/arc based around Jotaro doing some actual science. :) that's all I want.

Some more self indulgence since I've been so quiet over here:

The gradual, warm heaviness that swells in a character's stomach as they work through an indulgent meal. They're enjoying the food so much they don't even notice how full they feel until their fork hits the bottom of their empty plate, their brain finally catching up to their belly. They ponder if they can squeeze in a little bit of dessert, but their stomach protests the thought. For now they just lean back in their seat, rubbing their stuffed tummy in hopes to make just a little bit of room for dessert before they call it a night.

I love the contrast between the achy, empty feeling before and the post-meal bliss of a full, warm tummy ❤️

The character just wants some physical affection? Rub their dang tummy, you fool. Them and their tummy deserve to feel loved at all times.
