the "overwhelming" im thinking of is not really a physical sensation but an emotional/spiritual one. essentially, direct contact with the love someone else has for you.

in the afterlife, a soul is like water in zero gravity. its kept together by surface tension (ie the persons perception of themself) but there isnt a barrier between then and another blob of water. if they touch, theres a level of permeability that allows things (thoughts and emotions etc) to pass through

(the metaphor proceeds to fall apart because souls dont mix permanently but bear with me asjdhajkh)

so yes, it does take Logan and Virgil a long time to adjust to this new paradigm, but not in the same way their physical bodies experience sensations. two separate kind of experiences

as ive begun fleshing out the afterlife more ive some to settle on the idea that sex does happen, but its a very different experience

its for the same reason that everyone can hear the familiars now, that being that no one technically has a physical body - they are body shaped, because thats how a person perceives themself, but they are all just souls, and when they speak to or touch or otherwise interact with each other, they are making soul-to-soul contact

for example the fae can lie in the afterlife, in the sense that they can say untruths - but theres no way to actually deceive someone, because just looking at another person makes their intentions and desires clear.

all of which is to say that sex (and even really most interpersonal interaction) has a serious learning curve for new arrivals, because its unimaginably intense and profoundly intimate. many people (even people who were allo in life) choose to forgo it entirely

so in the end, everybody and nobody has slut rights, because while Roman might be able to to call Patton a slut whats actually going to be shining out of every pore of his being is a cacophony of adoration

I'm just curious bc I'm having some writers block for some wip, what is the hardest fic to write for you? How do you get over writers block for ✨spicy✨ fics?

its this orgy fic, followed by all my LAMP fics, and for the same reason. just the number of bodies i need to keep track of and have realistically interacting with each it so taxing it takes an hour to write 200 words and i have to leave it for the rest of the day.

my best advice - it will go so, so much faster if you write just the most brutally efficient outline first. im talk "x moves on top of y. 2-3 sentences of frotting. roll over. z making noise over in his corner."

just absolutely strip it to the studs. and then when you go through and write the prose, you can adjust if you want or need to but you dont spend 10 minutes distracted from writing because your scrolling 2 pages back trying to figure out if anybody already put a condom on or not

every time i try to write smut without one its 10x harder and i usually end up having to make one anyway
