at first glance, ochako`s music taste is not that eclectic. she`s mostly comfortable listening to pop, electronica, city pop / future funk --- p much, anything upbeat &. energetic. she would ocassionally listen to trip-hop, specifically for studying; but, as far as her daily playlist goes, her favorite type of music is light-hearted ( or, at least, sounds light-hearted ).

so, that`s why it was surprising that she`s an enthusiastic BABYMETAL fan, all thanks to ( her adoptive little sis ), nagisa, who introduced her to the band`s music. yet, at the same time, with songs like “DOKI DOKI☆Morning,” “line!” &. “Elevator Girl,” is it really all that surprising that she became an instant fan? it still follows her general taste for upbeat and cute-sy music. this time, it just so happens to have an edge.

PLATONIC SENTENCES. ( accepting )

       THIS ARRANGEMENT HAS been going on for a while ever since that day after class --- in which Tsuru offers Ochako a meal during lunchtime or a small snack in-between different periods. &. No matter how long this arrangement has been going on, it still never ceases to surprise the young student. Perhaps her teacher has caught on to her prior living situation before moving into the U.A. dorms, explaining why it was difficult for her to focus on her lectures ( instead, daydreaming about what she was going to have for lunch &. dinner if she was lucky ); but, regardless of her teacher`s reasons for being so sympathetic &. selfless, Ochako was grateful for such a small yet meaningful act of kindness. It never fails to nearly put her to tears every time the pro-hero gives her something to eat. She felt so undeserving for such a benevolent gesture when she had nothing to show for it --- not even her grades were all that great to earn such preferential treatment.

       “Thank you, Miss Tsuru,” she bowed slightly as she accepted the pack of strawberry-flavored mochi, successfully choking back the tears that threatened to spill out with a bright smile on her face.

       Most times, Ochako wishes she can pay back Tsuru`s hospitality in kind. She definitely deserves it for doing so much for so little in return.

       &. So, she decided to do something she hasn`t done before. Until now.

       “Do you mind if we share the mochi together, by the way? There are two of them after all, &. I think they will taste more delicious with your company.” &. Tsuru`s signature jasmine tea, of course! But nothing would make her happier than to eat her favorite snack than with her favorite teacher.

✧・ﾟ TSURU-SENSEI.

   it’s the growl of her stomach that gives saya some explanation. the attention on ochako wasn’t what she desired, so a firm shift in her tone allowed for some control  over the situation. “ now students, let’s return to the lecture. ” and without a hitch, she resumes discussing the complexities of pre-heroics. only now, in the back of her mind, she makes a mental note to speak with ochako following the end of the school day. throughout the lesson, her eyes would dart to certain students as a simple checkup, to ensure they were kind of paying attention. granted, the constant darting eyes to the clock almost made saya end class early … 

   but then she saw dozing heads, so she decided against it. 

   now, saya doesn’t disrupt students during their lunch break, as she usually takes her own break during this time, and frankly if she doesn’t eat she probably might pass out in the middle of class. her body required several snacks and meals throughout the day, so she had to be diligent  with her free time. it’s why she prepares so many things and constantly is seen with some sort of snack in her mouth. with that in mind, any meetings were delayed till after their classes were over. especially if she was tutoring any students.

   despite all of this, she didn’t want to startle or embarrass any of them either. this only prompted saya to begin her wait to ‘call out’ to them near the end of her final statements and reminders. which, unfortunately for ochako, followed the very clear  outline of when the next exam was. so, with the softest demeanor saya could muster, she makes a motion for the girl just as she saw her heading for the door. “  — miss uraraka, if you’d please wait a moment, i’d like to speak with you. ”

       THE HAPPY BEAT IN her step immediately screeched to a halt when she heard her surname called --- the delightful tune she sang in her head with the promise of delicious food changed to white noise, a mental collapse, &. so, her thoughts were blank. The bright beam on her face dimmed to a neutral expression, &. she froze like a statue by the door, her arms &. leg still in position to sway forward but falling to a pause. Ochako was never called to wait after class has ended, so she had no clue what to expect. She was nervous. Anxious. A chill ran up her spine, &. the scattered ramblings of the young girl in an attempt to understand why she was being called out again began: ‘I did do something wrong when Tsuru-sensei called on me. I knew it! I should have tried to answer her question when she asked. Why, oh-why, was I daydreaming for so long? I should have been paying attention! But what did I do wrong? What else did I do wrong?’

       But, even as her thoughts ran a million miles per second, her voice was only able to slow down with a simple: “Yes, Miss Tsuru?” As she turned around to face her teacher, she strained to maintain a smile on her face, appearing every bit as uncomfortable as she felt. Perhaps her punishment would be a light sentence if she attempted to cry right then &. there, she thought. It would a shameful display, but she can`t afford to land in trouble. It would show on her record, &. she could never be a proud hero if she was known as a trouble-maker at U.A. It would ruin her! For now, she needs a better read on the situation before she jumps the gun &. goes for the theatrics; so, she resorted to polite pleasantries instead --- bowing slightly, arms stiff against her person --- to show how much she truly respected Tsuru despite the disrespect she presented in class.

✧・ﾟ TODOROKI.

He paused briefly as his eyes slowly shifted to the small bottle still in his hand, now feeling completely foolish for having left out something so obvious. In his complete defense, however, it’d been his first time even attempting to make something like this. If not for Ochako’s instructions, Shouto’s outcome might have been worse. 

“No. Is it too late to add in now ?” 

       FOR SO LONG, Ochako would have considered Todoroki one of the most intelligent &. astute people she has ever met, a different league from the guys in their class --- he is considered a modern prodigy of the hero age for that exact reason, right? But, the more she got to know him, the more their friendship developed as he allowed other people in his personal bubble ( all thanks to her best friend, Deku ), that`s when she realized her initial impressions of him were not 100% correct.

       He can be a bit of an air-head when he`s completely outside of his element. It would be frustrating to deal with if she didn`t already find it so endearing. The girl could only laugh at such a small mistake.

       “It`s never too late to add a little more kick to our frosting,” she answered with enough enthusiasm for two ( since he was clearly lacking it ), fist pumped in the air for added encouragement, “See? Watch this.” Without missing a beat, she snatched the bottle from his hand before emptying out its contents inside the bowl of whipped frosting, a puddle of vanilla extract soaking at the top --- a display of how little Ochako actually knew about baking, or the gluttony she secretly carried now that had the power to add as many sweet flavors as she wanted when there wasn`t a literal price to pay. Either way, their finished cake will definitely be interesting. “Now all you have to do is mix it all together! &. Your job here is done.”

drift . i know i say this a lot in all my blogs, but --- i`m so sorry for the inactivity! my job has been kicking my ass lately, so i`ve been too tired to log on ocha or nejire for the past few weeks. like always, all my blogs are on permanent semi-hiatus. hopefully, i`ll finally get used to bein an early bird soon! &. i can get back in action ‘round here
