you know i think it would be absolutely hilarious if after some time Percy would get so fed up by Mr. D never calling him by his actual name so Percy would just decide to do the exact same thing to him and start calling him anything but Mr. D/Dionysus
like mr. D would be like "Hey Peter Johnson" and Percy would turn around and with a straight face be like " yes, Dave?" and everyone else is just watching horrified like wtf Percy? do you want to be turned into a cockroach????
or Percy would be talking with someone and be like " Derek told me-"
" who..?"
"you know our camp director? god of wine and all that?"
"......you mean mr. D./Dionysus "
"yeah Dylan...so anyways he told me-"
and then it would become this thing between Percy and Mr. D where they would always try to come up with the most stupid and outrageous wrong names to annoy each other as much as they possibly can
everyone is horrified at Percy and just waiting for Dionysus to smite him but Percy and Mr. D are secretely having a fucking blast
okay so we are told in the books that celestial bronze is pretty much the only thing that can kill the monsters (at least until hoo) right? but we are also shown that that isn't entirely true and they can be killed by other monsters or things that come from other monsters - just how Percy killed the Minotaur with its own horn. so my question is - why, when they are left with spoils of war after killing monsters, - aren't those spoils made into weapons (if possible) the way the Drakon bone sword that Annabeth got in hoo is? wouldn't it be cool as fuck if Percy's minotaur horn was made into something? like a knife or dagger or anything really i am not an expert on weapons but i am sure the Hephasteus kids would be happy to make something from it. and it wouldn't be just cool but also meaningful for Percy. the way this fight is so iconic and significant for him. the way he didn't want to let it go after he woke up in CHB for the first time. having it made into a weapon that he could use to fight. a "souvenire" he got from his (not really) first fight, something that came from a monster that tried to kill him and almost killed his mom, a monster he killed with said souvenire, then being made into a weapon that could even save his life in the future.... i just think it would be great if it was used in such a way and considering that the Drakon bone sword exists i would think there isn't anything that could make it impossible to happen so.... actually yes i love this idea and in my head that's what really happened with the minotaur horn
holds your face very gently. listen. listen to me: Grover and Percy are soulmates. Their lives are very literally tied together and they cannot exist without the other. Canonically, if one of them dies, they both die. They literally share a telepathic link that they can use to communicate from literally anywhere and they can feel each other's feelings. They are best friends and their lives are physically bound to one another. This is so important to me.
I’m going a little wild over the fact that Percy started feeling the effects of the chimera’s poison two minutes before he collapsed. I thought this part of the episode was weird when I first saw it because the camera focuses on him when it seemingly should be focusing on Annabeth, but then, I realized Percy’s odd behavior while he’s in focus.
He also turns abruptly, and a little late, to Annabeth, as if he just remembered to listen to her, as if he’d been distracted by something.
Then, this boy starts cracking jokes to cheer her up instead of saying, “Hey, something’s wrong; I could literally be dying.” And you can see on his face a few seconds before he collapses that the poison’s starting to really get to him, and still, he doesn’t attempt to get her attention and ask for help.
Then, when they’re at the fountain, he tells her and Grover that he’s feeling better even though he obviously isn’t, because he’s hoping he’s physically strong enough to pretend. (He falls on his ass.)
100% Percy just didn’t want to worry them and thought there was no way to find a cure in time anyway. I’M SCREAMINGG
I really think everyone needs to truly internalize this:
Fictional characters are objects.
They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.
at this point i am convinced that this fandom just created a whole new character and just slapped Percy's name and some of his looks on him because seriously any time i see someone on the internet talk about Percy it makes me want to cry and scream and shake them while asking if they even ever understood his character
