I created a website for my business, MoonLace Studio LLC!
As a little bit of history, my craft shop MoonLace Studio started in-person in 2019 and on Etsy in 2020. Then, I decided to expand it into a livestream tarot-reading business in 2021 using my spiritual name as a pseudonym. I formed the LLC in 2022, and it has grown into my full-time occupation, really finding its shape in 2023. I am now beginning to integrate the different parts of my life together and can share this work on my personal platforms!
https://www.moonlacestudio.com
MoonLace Studio LLC includes:
Youtube Channel for Spiritual and Creative Topics
Private Tarot Readings and Consultations
Etsy Shop and Art Sales
Patreon and Ko-Fi Membership Communities
Self-Publication and Writing
Other places this work extends: Twitch, Discord, TheGameCrafter, InsightTimer

A Rosekill Rosary
Performance Art Piece by Valerie K Sharp, duration: 2 hours
Summer Solstice, Rosekill Farm
Rosendale NY, June 2021
Curated by Jana Astanov
Photo and Video Credit: Luke Stence
Materials: beads made from journal pages while pregnant, nature items from land, basket, string, white hooded robe
In this piece, I used a long string I created of 150 beads made out of the journal pages from while I was pregnant. I began the piece walking around the property, gathering small items from nature (such as mushrooms, sticks, stones, plants, and flowers) in a basket. I led the audience to the barn, and began to speak rosary prayers I wrote along each bead. After each set of ten, I tied one of the items from nature onto the string. In this action, I ground back into the earth, before diving once more into the mystery of the rosary. This performance was a thank you to the land that has inspired me so much.
"Holy Gaia, full of seeds, the sun warms thee. Soothing is the turning of thy tides, nurturing is the harvest of thy soil. Mother Earth, Queen of Cycles, Speak to us through your caverns, creatures, cosmos, and renew us in your womb when we embrace our death."

A Gift for Arthur
Performance Art Piece by Valerie K Sharp
Featuring Arthur
Summer Solstice, Rosekill Farm
Rosendale NY, June 2021
Curated by Jill McDermid
Video Credit: Luke Stence
Materials: acorns, blue tissue paper, bird’s nest
This performance was inspired by a meditation I had done in this very spot a few years back, and the blue robin's egg I saw when I opened my eyes. Arthur and I have been doing some of our first creative play together by tearing and crumpling tissue paper. The acorns I used are the same from my performance, Acorn, which was about being pregnant with Arthur.   In this performance, I wrap acorns in blue tissue paper torn by Arthur and me, and then place the "gifts" into the birds nest. This performance is my gift to Arthur and our gift to the nature spirits of this beautiful land.

I use a forest as a symbol of the subconscious, encompassing the complexity and mystery of the mind.
Most of the imagined forests depict clusters of tangled trees, but some depicts a single tree, which holds the oneness, wonderment, contemplation, and peace of the universe. It is a symbol that spans across cultures and time.
In some of the imagery, figures emerge from the landscape just as the landscape emerges from the figures. The inner and outer worlds are one and the same. The figures appear female because I seek the feminine energy of nature and creativity in my daily life for healing, transformation, and transcendence. The figures take on a collaborative dance with the trees, rhythmic and wild.
Through many of the the images, especially as the series progresses, the spirit of butterflies is birthed from tangled veins of anxiety, and a full range of colors take hold. This alchemical transfiguration serves as an important symbol in my life.
I find that I can watch the changes in phases of my life through the shifts in my art, and as I am discovering myself and finding more avenues of self expression, these pieces become self portraits of my inner journey.

Acorn
Performance Art Piece by Valerie K Sharp
Programmed by Grace Exhibition Space for International Performance Art, Manhattan NY
Performed at Three Phase Center for Collaborative Art Research and Building, Stone Ridge, NY
Live Streamed, April 2020
Materials: acorns, ribbons, Mother Goose book
Video credit: Nina Isabelle
In this piece, I held hundreds of acorns in my dress, against my belly. The only planned sound of the piece was the moment I released them, and they all fell and hit the ground at once, spreading out all around me. I then formed the acorns into a circle around me with my feet. I sat in the middle of the circle, and pulled long colorful ribbons out of a Mother Goose book, one by one. I tied the ribbons to each acorn, looping them back into the circle to form what might look like a flower formation. I picked up each ribbon and looped them around my arms, suspending the acorns in the air. I tied the ribbons around my waist, letting the acorns cascade between my legs. I piled the remaining acorns onto the open book.
In creating this piece, I pulled from the experience of recently discovering that I was pregnant. I contemplated all that this meant: for me, for my partner, and for the new life growing inside of me. At this time, I hadn’t told most people I knew, and this piece was a moment of expressing what I was experiencing without words.
This piece was originally planned to be performed in front of a live audience. The date it was scheduled quickly became the beginning of the pandemic, and instead of gathering in person, we live-streamed the event.

Turning
Performance Art conceived and executed by Valerie K Sharp; Film, Sound, and Editing by Fred Hatt
Filmed at Rosekill Farm
Rosendale NY, 2018
“Turning” is a meditative collection of artistic actions performed for film, tuning into the essence of each season in the same landscape (Rosekill Farm, Rosendale NY) through the textures and sounds of nature and the relationship of the artist to the land. The performer becomes a part of the cycles and changes of the landscape through symbolic caretaking, illustrating an isolation in self reflection, with nature as a mirror to the inner self. The actions are soft but powerful, celebrating femininity, and capturing the magical connection of spirit to nature.

The Architecture of a Stream
Performance Art Piece and Installation by Valerie K Sharp
Three Phase Center for Collaborative Art Research and Building
Stone Ridge NY, March 2019
Materials: paper, charcoal, tree branches
“The Architecture of a Stream” was my project for a month-long residency at Three Phase Center. I worked with durational stream-of-consciousness writing both as a daily practice and as a performative action. In my writing practice, I worked to be as free and authentic as possible, writing the thoughts that would flow through me in the moment. Throughout the process, I experimented with different “containers” in which to give form to the formless. Examples of such containers would be time, space, intention, and sculptural forms. The performative action itself was an act of public stream-of-consciousness writing, contained and controlled by the sound of a metronome and the length of the paper across the physical space. The final performance took place surrounded by installation pieces I created using the written material on paper throughout the month of residency.
