I think people get mixed up a lot about what is fun and what is rewarding. These are two very different kinds of pleasure. You need to be able to tell them apart because if you don't have a balanced diet of both then it will fuck you up, and I mean that in a "known cause of persistent clinical depression" kind of way.

the scene where drunk Lan Wangji lays down to sleep and says "It's 9 o'clock" is funny because "haha he always goes to bed when it's 9 o'clock" but it's even funnier if drunk Wangji interpreted "I'm going to bed" as "that must mean it's 9 o'clock" when it's actually like 2:13am or something. Drunk Wangji claiming it's 9 o'clock with FULL conviction as he goes to bed, no matter what time it actually is, because if he's going to bed that must mean it's 9 o'clock. And Wei Wuxian PISSING himself struggling to contain his laughter

Hgj was on with death bed, and his last wish was to get a rabbit jade pendant. Lsz, his son didn't understand, since he already had plenty of those. Nonetheless, he ventured in Caiyi town to find another one, and encountered a Rogue cultivator on the way. Said "Yuandao" offered him his own, and after hearing his story LSZ accepted it.

Yuandao used to be a reknown cultivator, and the pendant was meant to be a courting gift. The family of his Lover agreed to their marriage if he managed to find the other pair, of what used to be a couple of jade rabbits. But during his quest, his beloved was cursed to forget him, and his Lover's family took avantage of his lack of memory to marry him to someone else. Yuandao was barred from aproaching him, yet he still kept the pendant for decades. Now he finally decided to let it go, which was why he chose to gift it to Shizui.

Then Yuandao bid his farwell and left the city while LSZ hurried back to Gusu.
