Period 2 (July 18 - July 31) - Tenmyouji Bad End #1, Tenmyouji Bad End #2, Tenmyouji Good End

Congratulations for making it to Clover’s end and making it through the first period! If you haven’t already, there will be enough time this period to get both of these done if you play very intensely.

Anyway, the graphic above explains what to do: You’ve already done the Elevator and Infirmary puzzles last time, so you don’t have to do them again! However, instead of betraying in the first AB round, ally instead. Take the red door and do the Lab puzzle. Yes, this leads to a different ending. One you can’t get yet, the reason for doing this is clearing a lock for the Tenmyouji ending. As soon as you get the “You Found It!” message after escaping the Lab and moving on to the start of the next scene, jump back and take the blue door instead this time.

*This leads to the dreaded PEC room. If you are playing on the Vita version, you have nothing to worry about. If you are playing on the 3DS version, DO NOT SAVE IN THIS ROOM. IT WILL CORRUPT YOUR DATA. THAT IS NO BUENO.

Afterwards, betray for bad end #1. Ally to continue to the Director’s Office. You will get Bomb Deactivation Code #1. Write it down. Afterwards, betray for bad end #2, ally for good end.

This period is two weeks because it has the most gameplay involved, and to allow people to attempt to catch up.

Starting July 3, 2015 after 4infinity

With 4infinity (hopefully) heralding the announcement of Zero Escape 3 (if it isn’t, abort mission!), I would like to formally announce an event that I’ve had in the works for a while: Virtue’s Next Replay. By the name, it suggests that we will be replaying Virtue’s Next Reward, and that’s exactly right.

I invite the entire Zero Escape fandom to play through Virtue’s Last Reward again with us, not only to experience the wonderful story again,but to talk about it and share any insight or epiphanies gained over the course of the playthrough. Each week, I will select an ending, and we will play through that ending, and discussion and theories are very much encouraged. The only rules are, be respectful to everyone else, and if you bring something outside of 999 and VLR into discussion (for example, you might talk about Kotaro Uchikoshi’s other works), please use spoiler tags as appropriate.

Please tag posts with “Virtue’s Next Replay” so people can track the discussion, as well as the regular tags that apply!

WARNING: This is for people who have already finished Virtue’s Last Reward once before, it is a guided replay. If this is your first time playing VLR, feel free to post in the Zero Escape/VLR tags about your experiences, but please go through this game blind for the first time! You’ll enjoy it more that way.

In order to get Clover’s ending, you must solve the intro (elevator) puzzle, then pick the Yellow Door, do the Infirmary, then Betray in the 1st AB game and take the green door. After solving the treatment door puzzle, ally and betray in the 2nd AB game to get both of Clover’s endings. The period ends at 12:00 am Central Time on July 18, please plan accordingly if you live in a different time zone. The reason I am giving two weeks is to allow people to work off their excitement about Zero Escape 3′s announcement, and since I didn’t post immediately after 4infinity ended. If two weeks is too much time, I will shorten periods to one week.

REMEMBER: As you play, talk about the game as much as you’d like, ask questions if you think of any, and tag spoilers appropriately for the sake of everyone else. Liveblogging is a good idea. Be respectful of everyone else.
