It’s kind of funny - you don’t look any different than he remembers.

Older, sure, but your smile’s the same one that makes his stomach flutter, and your hair’s pulled into that same ponytail he used to tug you free from every night before. Before all this.

Just one glance is enough to make his heart hurt - just one glance is enough to make his chest well up with guilt.

How could he ever think he wouldn’t miss you?

“Oof- Holy sh- hi there, buddy. It’s been a long time since I saw you here. You’ve gotten so big.”

No, you look even more beautiful than he remembers. Both your hands are at either side of Dog’s face, your eyes alight with the same expression of affection that you used to give him on early mornings when he’d pull you into him, refusing to let go, and it feels like he can’t breathe when he remembers those days.

It feels like a lifetime ago.

“Where’s your daddy, huh? Or did you run away and come find me again?”

The gates of Hilltop are just behind him, so is Aaron and Carol and her son, but he can’t see anyone but you. You’re laughing now - a sound he could know even in death - bent down on one knee as Dog attacks you with his kisses, his tail wagging left to right so quickly it looks almost like a blur, and it sounds just as warm as the first time he heard it.

Dog barks then, turning in your loose admiration to look in his direction, and Daryl follows your smile like a moth to a flame. He’s suffocating on the autumn air - suffocating on the way you look at him - but there’s something else in the stutter of his lungs. Something that has nothing to do with how much he wants to reach out and kiss you.

It gnaws at him, searing like salt on a wound.

“Hey there, Dad Dixon.”

A thing about comic book covers and movie posters that I’ve always found hilarious is that you have:

Your standard male superhero poses: action shots, brooding shots, typically forward facing, stoic and heroic

Then you have one of your typical female superhero poses: a coy over the shoulder look with plenty of side boob and ass, objectifying and unnecessary 

And then you have Bucky Barnes.

Like I know that they do this to show off his arm, but I chose to believe that someone in the graphic design department at Marvel is just extremely horny and needs Bucky’s ass on every poster

So I am currently in quarantine/self-isolation because one of my co-workers was tested positive for Covid19 and right at midnight tonight the doorbell rang. So I go to open the door to yell at whoever is making me get up from bed at this time of night...

My three friends are standing outside at least 2 meters away from each other and 5 meters far away from my door with a huge ass cake and basically scream-singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY for me. And I'm currently crying. We are all sitting outside in the middle of the night, all far away from each other and eating cake.

Just saying. Social distancing is not that hard. We will get over this. Nobody has ANY excuse for not giving a damn.

Still, I just thought maybe some of you need something a litte sweet in these bitter times.

when you just suddenly know...

So I was in university today and was having lunch with a few people that I know, but am not really friends with. And as we were eating and "having a conversation" I suddenly realized WHY I am not really friends with them.

Maybe I'm mad over nothing but this is how I feel about it.

Here's what happened:

I wanted to be a part of the conversation and as soon as I contributed something, one said that I am absolutely wrong and the other started laughing loudly and making jokes as if I'm too stupid to talk.

Now, get this. The Conversation was about the english language and about various accents. We are in Germany btw.

These guys always turn to me to ask for translations and explainations during EVERY SINGLE ONE of our english lectures. I do know accents. Heck, I'm better at doing various accents when speaking english (and not german, I don't know why really).

And now I just know why I don't like them. They think they're ohhhhhhh soooo clever and intelligent and so much more intelligent as our professors. It's okay to not have the same opinion as your teacher and question his methods or even the lectures substance, but to believe that you are always right about it, is just plain ignorant.

AND most importantly: THEY DON'T RESPECT ME! They don't listen when I talk and don't even try to understand what I mean when I'm explaining something. Calling me an idiot for saying that it's not the 14 year olds fault if her ex boyfriend sends that one nude around the whole school. That they're blaming the victim... They don't give a damn.

And NO, you're wrong when you clearly are doing an aussie accent and calling it british.

I'm just so annoyed right now. I needed to let this out and I also just realized why these idiots have been annoying the crap out of me for the whole past year. It feels sooo good to finally know.

These people are holding me down and calling me stupid without me even realizing it.
