you filled yourself up with so much light,
you forgot about the shadows that’d follow,
so you blew a kiss to the stars,
and asked them: how do I survive?
and they answered: it’s simple. you burn.
and you have been dying ever since // k.s. (via worthystevie)

How beautiful is it that someone could make your heart beat so fast when you don’t want it to beat at all.

Martyr
She was a dreamer, wide eyes searching the stars
For answers to questions she hadn’t thought to ask
She laughs and she twirls her way through life
Innocence in the form of one young girl
Who saw magic in everything and everyone
She was a believer, her faith that humans had humanity
Meant that she was fooled by the masks of monsters
She reaches out with soft hands and an open heart
And the creatures of the dark would come forth
To eagerly tear her apart
She was gorgeous, the sort who turns saints to sinners
With the bite of her lips or the sway of her hips
Yet she was blissfully unknowing, unrealising
Of the effect that a beautiful innocent can have
On the corrupt minds and fickle hearts of man
But they brought her to her knees
They cremated hope and scattered it to the wind
Love becomes a weaponised word
To be launched with all the catastrophe of a missile
Leaving only the pieces of destruction and devastation
The dreams are nightmares she subjects herself to
Held high but brought low by the choices she has made
To save others but to condemn herself
The beliefs are false convictions
Meaningless prayers whispered through lying lips
She can only trust herself
The prettiness is her undoing
For where there is a beauty
There will always be a ready beast
She breaks, because they shatter her to pieces.
She falls, because it’s all she knows to do anymore.

there is nothing poetic about clawing at your chest, trying to empty yourself of these poisonous words, coming up with nothing in your palms but blood.

–and what I really meant to say is,
girls like us are fluent in silence.
When we bite our tongues, we
swallow the blood.

It is me now
Who is the demon
And yes yes
It is me who is the demon
It is me who everyone
Should fear
