So I was frantically searching for something to help me revise chemistry, physics and biology and I came across this youtube channel which goes over the basics that you need to know for each of the science topics.
The link to the channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBgvmal8AR4QIK2e0EfJwaA
And here are the videos that I used:
Chemistry:
C1: https://youtu.be/7Gt4LnaHf78
C2: https://youtu.be/iNXJ259fBa0
C3: https://youtu.be/zEWGDi4N3xw
Biology:
B1: https://youtu.be/KjKWmpr7H_Y
B2: https://youtu.be/6bxmIxPFO4s
B3: https://youtu.be/a_7J-mJrBj8
Physics:
P1: https://youtu.be/bR0boPq3v5Q
P2: https://youtu.be/cKDbzh9MojY
P3: https://youtu.be/UoTgo5wi6AQ
As I said before, these videos are very basic and brief, however, they’re really good to watch as a summary or for some last minute revision.
Enjoy :)

So here’s my quick guide to GCSE English Language! I did my GCSE last year, so I know the exam, and these tips are what got me through… so hopefully they help some of you!
I have simplified each question down, but hopefully this benefits some of you as a revision aide or set of quick reminders on each question.
I’m happy to make seperate posts for each question in lot more detail, so if you’d like that, let me know!

Vocabulary 1 : Les Préfixes
Fait, refait, défait, parfait, contrefait, satisfait, forfait, surfait…
All the elements which are added to the word fait are préfixes. They have the power to orient the meaning of the word in very different directions.
What is a préfixe ?
The préfixes, like the suffixes, are word forming elements which are added to a basic word, called radical, to form derived words. The préfixe is placed before the radical. Adding a préfixe doesn’t change the grammar class of the base word, but changes its meaning.
dire -> redire ; connu -> inconnu ; ordinaire -> extraordinaire
In some cases, the prefix is no longer identifiable as such: - because the basic word no longer exists in the language -> raccourcir, rapetisser, rencontrer…
- or because the prefix and the radical lose their particular meaning by forming a word of new meaning -> regarder, répréhensible…
Some usual préfixes
Préfixes : a- , an- (before a vowel)
Meaning : negation (no) or deprivation (without)
Examples : anormal, apolitique, atypique, apesanteur, apatride, aphone, anorexique…
Préfixes : co- , con- , col- (before l-) , com- (before b- , m- , p-) , cor- (before r-) //note : in words of recent formation, it is the form co- which is used, whatever the letter which follows : coauteur, colocataire, copilote, coreligionnaire//
Meaning : with
Examples : coalition, coexistence, concitoyen, collaborer, collatéral, combattre, compatriote, commerce, commémoration, correspondance, corrélation…
Préfixe : pro-
Meaning : forward, further
Examples : progrès, providence, projeter, prolonger, propulser, procréer, progéniture…
Préfixes : re- , ré- , r- (before a vowel or h-) , res- (before s-) // note : in words of recent formation, the s- is not doubled -> resaler, resalir, resituer //
Meaning : repetition // return to a previous state // change of direction // more // completely
Examples : relire, reprendre, revoir, réélire, resservir… // reboucher, relever, revenir, repartir, refermer, rhabiller … // rabattre, recourber, renverser… // rechercher, ressentir… // ramasser, réunir, remplir, recouvrir…
Préfixes : sou- , sub-

Préfixes : sy(n)- , sym- (before b- , p-)

Préfixe : trans- // note : if the radical begins with a s-, the s- of trans- is maintained -> transsexuel, transsibérien, transsaharien //
Meaning : beyond // mark the passage, the change // through
Examples : transférer, transporter // transformation, transfigurer // transpercer, translucide
Some to express the anteriority
Préfixe : anté®- // note : it takes the form anti- in antichambre, antidater, anticiper //
Meaning : before, which is in front
Examples : antérieur, antécédent, antédiluvien
Préfixe : pré-
Meaning : before (in time or space)

These negative préfixes are used to form antonymes (words with opposite meanings).
Préfixe : a-
